Guest Reviews
- William (10/5): - The room was clean, spacious, private and convenient. The owner/operator, Martyn, was delightful, welcoming and provided a lovely private continental breakfast each morning. We look forward to our next visit.
- Janet (10/5): Luxurious stay in Painswick - The owner contacted us with detailed information regarding check-in, breakfasts, places to eat etc before arrival. The room was lovely and the bathroom luxurious. The breakfasts were beautiful - muesli, yoghurt, fresh fruit from the garden, fresh coffee, toast and warm croissants. It was a lovely break. The house is very close to the little village of Painswick, a walk or very short drive from Slad, Laurie Lee country.
- Gerald (10/5): - Fabulous property and stay. Could not have asked for better hospitality from our hosts. Lovely breakfast, terrific shower, comfortable bed, convenient location. Would 100% stay again
- Cheryl (10/5): - This is such a wonderful gem in the lovely village of Painswick! The room is spacious and welcoming, so comfortable after a day of traveling! The owner is engaging and provides a perfect stay for travelers. Convenient dining options in the village within a 5 minute walk was an extra bonus. I would definitely rebook again, when in the area.
- Hazel (10/5): Perfect place to stay - Beautiful room, very stylish and well presented. Quiet, no traffic or ‘other guest’ noise at all. The owner was very friendly and served us a top quality breakfast in the main house which was beautiful.
Worth every penny. Would stay here again.
- Stephen (10/5): Great place to stay - Our host was very welcoming and hospitable. Full instructions were sent via email and text message before arrival and it was very easy to do contactless check in. The room was so well appointed, comfy bed and beautiful bathroom. We had coffee, tea, water filter and Lotus biscuits. It was quiet and peaceful.
Breakfast was superb, we could chose the time to be seated, 8:30-9:30 depending on your choice. Fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals, toast and croissants, fresh orange and lots of coffee. Overall well worth the cost and a lovely bolt hole to explore this area. Enjoy
- Andy (8/5): - Would recommend. Comfortable and clean, nice bathroom.
Only negatives were TV reception not good and no WIfi offered.
- Peter (10/5): A really delightful place - Superb. We stayed in the Garden Room which was light, really clean, with independent access and a really comfortable bed. So comfortable that my wife made me take a photo of the mattress label and we are ordering the same. Large garden and outside table and chairs which suited me as a pipe smoker. Good breakfast, simple but fresh and enjoyable. I spent my working life staying in 5 star hotels all over the World but enjoyed this upmarket BandB more than most of them. Perhaps Martyn might consider a real luxury? A proper capsule coffee machine in the room. I missed my early morning double espresso. Nevertheless 5 (or more) out of 5. Peter
- Nicole (10/5): Lovely stay - Really lovely stay, the room was very clean and comfy with everything we needed. Our host was friendly and served up a great breakfast. It felt very Covid safe
- Rebecca (10/5): An amazing stay! - We had an amazing stay at Croft house! We stayed in The Gloucester Room which had an entrance separate to the main section of the house. The room and en-suite (including bath) was beautiful and impeccably clean. Breakfast was set up in the adjacent kitchen and included a fruit platter, yoghurts, cereals etc. We would recommend the Croft house to anyone needing a base to explore the Cotswolds without hesitation.
- Melannie (10/5): - Martyn was an excellent host! We got a bit lost trying to find the property as our GPS glitched out, but Martyn answered our call very quickly to give us directions and even came out to the street to show us where to park! Our room was excellent and extremely comfy, and the bathroom was beautiful too! In the mornings we were served a delicious healthy lunch of fruits, toast, yogurts and cereals. Everything was absolutely perfect, we will definitely be back!
- Susan Jane (8/5): Wonderful - Most enjoyable. Wonderful host, good healthy breakfast-- if you want the high fat, traditional English fry-up this is the wrong place!😋 Only real negative is it is hard to find if you arrive in the dark. But intelligent breakfast conversations with our host more than made up for it.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very comfortable stay, friendly service, and a healthy breakfast !
Room was very clean and in 'as new' condition. Sadly could only stay one night, but would have been happy to stay over longer time permitting. Our visit was in the winter, but the gardens are beautiful and I could imagine sitting outside on a warm summer night.
Parking very convenient.
Highly recommended.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good place to stay - It was fine. The owner was helpful. We thought it cost about £20 more than it should have.
- Bryan (10/5): Great accommodation. - Had an excellent stay.
Martyn was an attentive host.
The accommodation was finished to a high standard.
The continental breakfast was very good.
- donna (10/5): Immaculate sone cottage with designer fittings - Great find. Beautiful period town. marten has turned this centuries old stone cottage into a very special experience, lovely mix of class modern design and heritage. Breakfast is healthy and filling
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful room with large, clean bathroom and comfy bed.
Many options for breakfast and the owner was incredibly flexible with our check-in/out and breakfast due to an event we were attending.
We would absolutely recommend this property.
