Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good for short stay - This motel was pretty much exactly what you'd expect from an old small town motel, as far as room amenities, etc. The room and bathroom were small but adequate. Everything was extremely clean, which is an absolute must for me. There are no frills but for a one night stay, that wasn't necessary. Our only real complaint was the bed was firm but not horrible and the pillows were flat (those were pretty horrible). The owner was extremely friendly and you could tell he cared for his guests.
- Samuel (10/5): - Loved the quiet peaceful stay.
- Scott P (10/5): Headed West - This was a perfect first stop on a 6 week cross country trip! The gentleman that checked we in was great. The room was clean and comfy and I got a great night of sleep. I parked my car just a few feet from the door which I love!
- Karen (8/5): - Family owned business. The husband was polite and accommodating.
- Linda (10/5): - Great stay at Judy’s motel. Very basic Mom&Pop style motel, but very clean and very friendly. We had everything we needed- clean room, comfortable bed, hot shower, Wi-Fi, and cable- plus fun conversation with the proprietor.
Stopped in Bedford to play the not-to-be missed Omni Bedford Resort golf course- a beautiful, historic course.
Would definitely stay here again.
- Mary (10/5): - Nice old fashioned motel - not fancy but well maintained and clean
- Calvin (8/5): - Finding owner to be from my home town
- Vickie (10/5): - I loved staying here! The owner checked us in and walked us to our room and showed us everything we needed to know. He was super sweet and nice! If we’re ever up this way again, we will definitely stay here again!
- Amy (10/5): - Judy's place was a comfortable affordable place to stay with a level of personal service from a bygone era. They really care about you there. It has a vintage decor that is a refreshing contrast to cookie cutter modern motels.
- Carol (8/5): - Good, old-fashioned motel with the necessities. I recommend changing the shower head. Otherwise, everything was good. This reminded me of the travel my family had in the 1950's
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great little old fashioned place. Nice people
- Audrey (10/5): - Enjoyed my stay. It was very quiet around the area. The gentleman who checked me in in was very nice and showed me everything I needed to know. As I was leaving the next morning he came out and caught me to find out how my stay was. Great experience!!
- Jennifer (10/5): - Love Judy’s Motel
- Eugene J (8/5): - Previous reviews were accurate. Would definitely stay again. We felt very comfortable. Nice to have non chain experience.
- Barbara (8/5): - Owner was very nice and helpful
- Dawn (10/5): Basic is good - We found the room to be clean, quiet and adequate for our needs for one night.
Had a nice conversation with the owners when checking in. Lovely elder couple.
I would stay here again.
- Norman (10/5): 20th Century Experience - This is the standard roadside motel from the mid to late 20th century. It's clean, quiet and well maintained. The owner is also the staff (except for lawn mowing). He was there to show us in and there to say goodbye. Fun little place for that overnight "between attractions" respite.
- Jochen (8/5): Fine for an overnight stay. - Very personable, helpful staff. Old motel charm with original furnishing. Met our needs for an overnight stay.
- WilliamF928 (8/5): Clean and Comfortable, Don't Pass It By! - Independent motel that is clean, comfortable, and cost effective for the traveler. The innkeepers are friendly, pleased to answer questions, and are genuinely concerned that their guests have an enjoyable stay. Did I mention that the room was clean, and large? Although the bathroom was a little tight, it was more than adequate. If you enjoy getting away from the cookie-cutter chain motels, Judy's Motel will surely fill the bill. And it won't break the bank. This will be our first choice when we're back in the area.
- Jeffrey (10/5): - A very nice, classic Motel.
I am tired of the rebranded cheap properties like Motel 6, that have been bought by major chains-had nothing upgraded from the existing condition - and had their rates doubled, to match all the other Flop Houses!
- Ervin (10/5): - A nice clean room, lovely owners, colorful artsy building, neat parking lot. .Quiet at night, close to the city. Would stay there again for sure
- Kathy L (8/5): Very comfortable - The person was very kind and helpful. The bathroom was small not a handicap toilet that was the only issue. It was very clean!!
- Karen (10/5): - Room was clean and comfortable. Owner was friendly and professional. Motel is conveniently located close to Old Bedford Village, where I attended a reenactment. It is also a short drive away from downtown Bedford.
- Alicia (10/5): Great stay! - Very nice, quiet, and quaint spot to stay. The owners are so nice!
- JAMES (10/5): - This was a nice clean motel room with a clean firm bed & hot shower. It met our needs perfectly for a one night stay.
- Doug (10/5): - Old school vintage motel. Mattress was too firm. Everything else great. Excellent customer service.
- EUGENE (10/5): - both managers were very friendly and provided me with interesting information.
- Steve (8/5): - Nice 1950s eta motel with wonderful service. Take a trip back in time ti enjoy a nights stay here.
Clean and comfor with a nice host
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was adequate for the cost. The bed was terribly uncomfortable. The mattress was so firm that I might have slept better in my car. It was dated and worn but very clean. For the price or in a jam it was adequate. No frills.
- Amy (10/5): - Nice friendly check-in with a proper tour of the room.
- Victoria (10/5): - Not a bad place for a basic motel. Nothing fancy just a clean room and quiet. Definitely dated decor and furnishings. Unfortunately bed wasn’t very comfortable definitely not suited for a bad back. But still would recommend if you’re looking for a clean quiet room that’s on the main road fairly close to everything. Price wise they were cheaper than quality inn but still kinda high for the type of room and lack of amenities.
- John (10/5): - The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Our unit was clean and tidy.
- Deborah (8/5): - The gentleman was very nice that owned the property. But the entire room is very outdated. It also had a musty smell. When I tried to wash up in the morning I ran the water for quite awhile and never got hot water. The room was clean but the draperies had mold on the back of them. The chair in the room was stained very badly. On a good note si nce we were the only ones there it was quiet and I did sleep well.
- Damian (10/5): - Awesome customer service! Cheap, clean, very nice!
- John (10/5): - Always a pleasure to stay here!
- John (10/5): - Enjoyed my stay!
- Nathan (8/5): - A good old fashioned mom and pop motel. Rooms are dated but clean, area is quiet.
- Stephanie (10/5): - As stated in previous reviews, Judy’s motel is a clean, cute, homey place to stay after traveling. There are restaurants close by.
- Nora (8/5): - This is an older property that has been well cared for, is extremely clean, and the owner is very friendly and helpful. While it lacks anything other than the basics, it's affordable, safe and very clean. I'm sure we'll stay again.
- Amie (10/5): - Cute little place. Bedford has some good dinner options and everything is pretty close.
- Gayle (10/5): - We felt very welcome. The owner was friendly and helpful with information about the town and best travel plans for our trip on to Gettysburg. The room was comfortable.
- mark (10/5): - If you want a no frill place to sleep, this is the right place. Clean, dut a little worn. Great bang for thebuck!!
- Kevin (8/5): - Older hotel, but the friendliness of the operators more than makes up for the lack of modernization. The only downside was waiting for hot water. Plenty once it started, but had to be patient. We were informed, in advance about the hot water.
- Mary (10/5): - Judy’s Motel is an older motel family owned and operated. Owners are very friendly and we’re helpful when we had any questions. The room was very clean and beds comfortable. The location was close to town and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.
- Donna (8/5): Bedford Getaway - We love the area, lots to do and see. Our stay was comfortable. We were greeted by the owner, Bill, when we arrived. He made sure we were acquainted with the room amenities and gave us restaurant recommendations. My family is in nearby cemetery and we try to get up at least once a year. We also explored the Duncansville area this time and had fun at the indoor flea market.
- Mark (10/5): Great Stay at Judy's Motel, Bedford, PA - Judys Motel is well cared for and very clean and tidy. Bill and his wife do a fantastic job seeing to every need of their guests. We will definitely be coming back next year. Highly recommend!! A+++
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean, comfortable, convenient with extra- friendly owners! Would definitely stay there again if in the area.
- Susan (8/5): - Judy’s Motel is a step back to the 50’s and 60’s. The place is very unique. Well kept, clean, and a reminder of where motels began. We would return on any trip east via the PA Turnpike. Owner/Staff is very friendly and informative regarding the area. His recommendations on dining were very helpful steering us to local favorites. Treat yourself when heading east and spend a night at Judy’s and enjoy history.
- Peter (8/5): - Bill is a very friendly and welcoming host.
- Karen (10/5): - We liked that is was a privately owned motel.
- Janet (10/5): - It's a very quaint 50's hotel. The owners are awesome.
- Wayne (10/5): - Great location for the trip
- Daniel (10/5): - Wasn't sure what to expect because I just needed a place to sleep between Michigan and Virginia Beach and didn't want to spend a lot. Feel like I won the lottery. Upon arrival I was greeted by Bill, half of the couple who own the place, and he showed me everything I needed to know about the room while we struck up a great conversation. The room was a quaint throwback to the days of independent hotels -- very comfortable, very clean. Bill gave me a recommendation for a restaurant and greeted me when I returned from dinner to check in on my experience. Had a wonderful quiet night. I don't have anything against chain hotels but it felt great to get royal treatment from someone who sincerely cared about my experience and wanted to take the time to have a little chat. I would definitely stay again.
- Zeno (10/5): - It's so refreshing to stay at an independent motel! Wonderful service and a clean, comfortable room.
- Diane (10/5): - Judy's has charm and is a great value.
- Richard (10/5): - Retro hotel from the 60s... nice change-up from the cookie cutter name brand hotels... nice folks who run the place, room was clean and comfortable, the place is well taken care of in spite of the age
- Kevin (10/5): - Very clean room.
- Keith P (10/5): - Grest place, great people
- Marty (10/5): - Love this comfortable old-fashioned motel!
- Brenda (8/5): - Clean room and pleasant owner
- Jane (10/5): - This is a very nice hotel the couple that own it are very nice the room was very clean I would go back in a heartbeat
- Casey (10/5): - It had everything we needed. Clean, friendly owner. No complaints.
- T3480NVmargaretm (4/5): Review - It was clean except under the bathroom floor where it looked like mold was growing. Stingy on the soap, no shampoo. The bathroom door didn't close, and the beds were marginal. They were very sparing with paper products.
- Natalie (8/5): - Nice and clean. Good location for visiting Kentuck Knob and Falling Water. Friendly host is always a bonus.
- Tracy (8/5): - both of the owners were very friendly and personable. The property is old, but everything was clean functional.
- Helen (10/5): - Very clean, inexpensive rooms, and the owners were very responsive and helpful. Convenient location not too far from the turnpike. I would note that there was no mini fridge or microwave, but I didn't need them.
- Cynthia (4/5): - The owner was nice, helpful and watchful. He kept the outside very neat and the room’s basic surfaces were clean. But the property was very old. The room was tiny, very musty (!) and very dated. Everything is in need of updating: carpet, blankets, linens, towels, tub surround (mildewy and stained), AC unit (worked fine but high up in wall so was hard to adjust), small tv (sitting on desk so was difficult to see when in bed.) No shampoo/conditioner, no hairdryer, no microwave or fridge. Mattress wasn’t bad but not great. Nice to see a “Mom &Pop” still in business but definitely needs some freshening up.
- Mitchell (8/5): - The owner was friendly and the room was clean.
Internet was very slow and air conditioner didn't seem to work well.
- Robert (8/5): - WiFi left something to be desired
- G3340UMchrisr (10/5): Clean and Friendly! - My wife and I stayed here recently. We were pleasantly surprised with how clean our room was. For the price and level of hospitality, you cannot go wrong here. This is cleanest no-frills motel I’ve ever stayed at. Thank you!
- Robert (8/5): Great nights rest! - Great place for a good nights rest! Place is clearly older but well kept and radiates “motor trip” from years gone by.. I found the king mattress extremely comfortable and slept quite well. Room was clean and tidy - if I ever need a place to spend the night next time I go through Bedford this place will be it!
- Renae (10/5): - It definitely has the family owned appeal. The gentleman working the desk walked us to our room and showed us where everything was. He made us feel welcome and safe. He had turned on the AC and made sure the room had cooled down prior to us checking in. Great experience overall.

He had turned on the AC and made sure the room had cooled down prior to us checking in. Great experience overall.
- Dennis E (8/5): - Electrical outlet near door was defective. Plugs did not make good contact and sometimes fell out.
- Jackie (10/5): - In my view, family motels that are well-tended and well-located, like this one, should be supported! We had a great stay and enjoyed it very much.
- Mark (8/5): - My only complaint would be extra pillows.
- William (10/5): - Enjoyed the hometown stay.
- Howard (10/5): convenient and quiet - The room was clean and not stuffy. Nice flowers and Pennsylvania Dutch decorations. I was glad I could open the windows easily to let the fresh air in. Marble window sills. Not much traffic noise. Feels very safe. Very easy access for my handicapped wife, with parking right in front of the room. The owner was friendly and able to direct us. Overall a very pleasant stay.
- Erin (8/5): - It was a small motel!! The gentleman took us to our room and showed the things we needed to know gave us some places to go for food and fun!! Very personable! Beds not so great but the hospitality made up for it!!
- VirginiaNan (10/5): What a delight! - Sparkling clean and freshly painted, this owner-operated, well-maintained motel is perfect for budget travelers. The owner was always available to answer questions and provided local travel tips as well.
- Pat_R_10 (8/5): Actually, we just now passed by the hotel /saved for new travels. Here’s just enough pretty signage to attract my eye!🚙 - Actually, we passed by too quickly but the attractive hotel caught my eye. Saving for our next Pennsylvania travels. Well kept attractive grounds with welcoming signage. I think I saw barn quilt at that location, country style, Pennsylvania Dutch, popular welcome 🤗 sign.
- Jeanne (4/5): - Old, old, old.
- Beverly (10/5): - Loved visiting Bedford and finding some unique history on the Lincoln Highway. Felt relaxed and far removed from the pressures of today.
- Mary (10/5): - A nice clean place to stay at a great price!
- CMF_11 (8/5): Comfortable 3 night stay - The Hotel is "no frills" but everything you need for a comfortable stay. The price can't be beat. The owners are very nice and offered area information. It's a great location for visiting Old Bedford Village and Downtown Bedford. Could you some updating but very clean. Would stay again if in the area.
- Susan (6/5): - The bedroom was nicely decorated. The bathroom was not good. It was hard to get hot water it would get hot and cold. The tub didn’t look inviting. The bed mattress needs to be replaced. The motel was close to most places.
- Adam (8/5): - Clean but dated. Bathroom in rm7 could definitely use a reno.
On the plus side, the water pressure in the shower was substantial!!
- Billy (10/5): - Clean and quiet, which was all I was looking for!
- Jonathan (8/5): - Clean, Friendly Staff, Good Location.
Bed a little to firm
- John (10/5): - Passed by the place on a few visits and sure, it looks super basic but what a little gem.
They were great about giving me extra coffee for the machine. We felt welcome.
It’s basic but the price reflects that. It was still a very nice stay. Warm room. Good shower. Close to town.
We had no complaints at all. Will stay again.
- Aaron (10/5): - Just a nice little old school courtyard motel.
- Ann (8/5): - The website for this hotel is upfront about it being an old hotel so I knew to expect simplicity instead of modern conveniences. Fortunately, my husband and I are not high-maintenance people and don’t need a lot of “extras”.
Being an older hotel, the bathroom was small and had no outlets or counter space. This was inconvenient for blowdrying and straightening my hair, but, again, it was expected. The only “modern” convenience that my husband needs is a TV. The room had a TV with plenty of channels so he was satisfied.
The hotel was clean, warm (on a frigid night), and provided a cozy place to stop for a good night’s sleep as we traveled.
- Keith P (10/5): - Great place
- JeAmour (10/5): "Good Night Stay" - old school color tv it worked & did the trick, beds clean comfortable, room clean and comfortable, bathroom clean & well maintenanced, smelled a little musty but clean & comfortable, good night stay, cant beat for the price, convenience, plus the staff was very professional & nice
- Richard (10/5): Oldie but Great stay - Very old but very clean. Very helpful owners.
Would stay there again
- Kent (8/5): Visit Bedford - The town center is about one mile from the motel. Interesting town with history going back before the American revolution. Several good museums. Friendly people.
- David (10/5): Cozy Vintage Motel - My favorite places to stay are the old style motels where you have your own entrance to your parking. Our room was small and could have used a bit of maintenance in the bath, but the motel was clean and management was very friendly and accommodating.
- Vincent (10/5): - Quiet, close to multiple dining options and fuel. Easy access to highways. Owners were very helpful and friendly.
- pattiw852 (10/5): Great nights sleep! - Judy’s is a great little motel! Clean, quiet, and so homey! The owner operator is kind and welcoming. Simple, uncomplicated place, with a coffee pot in the room and really good coffee. My husband loved the homey touch of a quilt on the bed. We definitely will be back. So if you want a really, really nice place to get a great nights rest, stop by and visit Bill at Judy’s Motel in Bedford PA!
- Donna (6/5): - Unfortunately The room smelled musty, peeling paint in bathroom, carpet old and tv was a large old style that took up most of the counter space in room. Just needs a renovation. Owner was nice, just needs remodeled. If wanted to stay with 50’s style motorcourt, that would be possible with some new flooring, tub surround/tile replacement and paint.
