- James (10/5): My wife and I had 3 very restful nights in a quiet rural setting where we felt cared for by the host - Breakfast was out early and was plenty warm. Hawks house was central to many points of interest and close enough to Rt. 1 to easily access them, but far enough from Rt. 1 to be quiet and secluded.
- Pamela (10/5): I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and the comfort of my room; and I hope to have an excuse to return. - The breakfast is very basic - the coffee is excellent and you can get tea etc as well. It is self serve. I really enjoyed sitting and quietly enjoying the view with my coffee. The grounds are lovely. If you are a birder, ask the host about where you can view a variety of warblers towards the back of the property. The host is very helpful and friendly. I would love to go back. I tend to need a larger breakfast because the events I had to attend did not provide for a time for lunch. However, there are several places within easy driving distance with great food and if you want to bring in food or leftovers, each room has its own bin in the refrigerator. I made use of that perk and the microwave the morning I was returning to the airport.

The minute he noticed my husband's 6'5" stature, he moved us to a different room that was more comfortable, and it was. He spent time directing us for dinner to King Eider's Pub, which was awesome (the chowder!) and the food coop for good provisions. Banana bread in the morning was such a nice personal touch. Lovely grounds, lovely place.

The innkeeper provides coffee, tea and fresh baked banana bread in the morning. Guests may use the microwave and refrigerator. The backyard is a floral oasis with chairs and firepit. Teh inn is also close to the iconic Pemaquid Point Lighthouse.

My sisters loved the roomy size bedrooms and the convenience of only four miles to the Town of Damariscotta where we went shopping and dined. Steve the owner was on site and delivered on all of our requests from ice to a phone charger. He was very pleasant and personable. The grounds at the Hawks House Inn were laid out with flower gardens and places for you to sit and enjoy nature. A beautiful setting for all!

- dominev2000 (10/5): Our Maine Getaway at Steve’s Place - This weekend was the 3rd one we’ve spent this year at Steve’s house. This place is a jewel in quiet Maine, far away from the crowd. Steve has personally renovated the whole property with care and dedication, and I have rarely seen a place so well groomed. Eve and I take it as our retreat. Steve understands that what makes a stay truly memorable is not only a beautiful setting, but also a welcoming host. His lovely personality and friendly conversations with guests make us feel at home every time we visit. We always leave recharged, grateful, and already looking forward to the next stay. Eve & Dom
- Martin (10/5): We like to stay here. - We've stayed here several times, and now choose Hawks Inn whenever we visit the area. Steve is very helpful and accommodating. The location is very good, with easy access to the various locations of interest (Pemaquid Point, seafood co-ops, Damariscotta and Camden, other harbors, etc.). The rooms are well maintained, the beds are comfortable, and you control the A/C or heat as you prefer, plus a morning snack of fresh banana bread. Walk in the beautiful garden (flowers, veggies, BBQ). A great place to stay.

- Gohavefun (10/5): A nice stay in Maine. Very quaint. - Our room was very comfortable and super clean. The vibe here is a country cottage. We stayed in the bldg next to the main house. Located in the main house were open areas for breakfast, a grill, a fireplace, and enclosed porch. There's a garden in view. Beds were comfortable. Had a kitchen table, small fridge. Parking is easy, right on front of room. Quality linens and plenty of thick, quality towels. * note: We stayed here to go to the Cabbage Island Clambake out of Boothbay Harbor. Great activity. The owners could have done nothing better. Everything was great and welcoming. Only 2 slught drawbacks for me is the busy and somewhat loud road out front. (But you just have to go to the main house and sit out back for quiet) The bathroom is great but the shower was the smallest I've ever showered in. A very large person might not be comfortable with this shower.

He has put a huge amount of effort into upgrading the property over the seven year since my last visit, and it really shows. For the price, this is the best lodging in the Damarascotta peninsula.

The kitchen and spacious dining area are inviting. It was nice to be able to use the refrigerator for our food. Fresh baked banana bread was a plus in the morning. It is also very convenient to Pemaquid Point Lighthouse and Shaw's Wharf where you may take the ferry to Monhegan Island.

Steve, the host was friendly and accommodating with fresh banana bread and GREAT coffee every morning! The room was comfortable, clean and the setting was relaxing. We would definitely stay here again!

- Martin (8/5): A nice place to stay for your Downeast Maine visit - We've stayed here before and chose to return this year. As a converted old house (and barn), it has its quirks but is also one of those "quaint" places that we like to use and support. The floors and stairs squeak a little (no surprise) and the floors aren't entirely level and the rooms each vary because of the way it was originally built, but that is part of its charm. We enjoy visiting the Pemaquid Point lighthouse and associated shoreline (image is on the Maine US quarter), and eating lobsters at Pemaquid Seafood; both are easily accessible from Hawk's House. More parking area would be nice, but it is limited by the available space.
