Guest Reviews
- Pedro (10/5): - The cabin we occupied, number 1, offered an excellent view and was conveniently located near both the restaurant and the supermarket. Nothing
- merryn (9/5): - Fabulous location; peaceful, beautiful view to the water and close to walks in the natonal park. thanks too for the things like coffee grounds, laubdry soap, having the heating turned on when we arrived and more. The soothing music coming from the TV gave a wonderful feel upon arrival.
- Christopher (4/5): Great location but poor value for money. - Excellent location with easy access to the stunning Freycinet National Park. We paid a significant price for this property and found it to be in subpar condition. There was a bug infestation in the bathroom and bedroom to the point we had to repeatedly clean these off of the bedding and towels. We had a very short stay so reported this on departure so it could be fixed. We believe that for the price we paid, it is reasonable to expect there would be no ants and flies all over our bed and towels. It’s clear this was an ongoing problem and not something that had occurred between cleaning and our arrival. Poor value for money.
- Ruth (8/5): - Gorgeous location and views. Bed was not comfortable
- Bronwyn (8/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): perfect in every way. Thank you. - location was perfect.
- Susan (8/5): - Fantastic location and great value for money in an expensive area
- DAVID (6/5): Ok place for a couple of nights but we booked for seven and it was not suitable for a comfortable stay. We would rate it - Location and views Very poor amenities eg cooking facilities, pots and pans, uncomfortable lounge, weedy unkept front garden. Overall not at all well presented.
- Mark (9/5): -
- Jenny (8/5): Comfortable stay in a beautiful part of Tasmania - The location was great overlooking the water and only 100 metres from general store and a couple of food restaurants. Only 10 minutes by car from Freycinet Visitors centre and slightly more to the Wineglass Bay carpark. The apartment was spacious enough for our few days stay with a great deck to sit at each afternoon. It was rather dated but still had what was necessary to enjoy our stay. It would have been much better if the fridge was full sized instead of bar sized. A few mozzies were in the apartment and I think they came through the window in the bathroom. Maybe all the fly screen mesh in the apartment needs to be a smaller gauge. It was OK for us but some visitors may not like having to step up and into a small bathroom base to shower. The step up was approx knee height.
- Tara (10/5): - Beautiful views and clean property.
- Chandra Lata (8/5): -
- Tracy (8/5): Beautiful, relaxing stay. - Fabulous location, perfect for a couple of nights stay. The two electric heaters and underfloor heating were much appreciated.
General store, cafe, ice-creamery/fish n chips just around corner. Large pot-hole near car park space
- Naomi (10/5): Absolutely the best all round. - Location was perfect. Right in the middle of everything this beautiful area has to offer. Property was also well appointed, cosy and very comfortable. Nil.
- Keith (10/5): Accommodation was superb, loved the underfloor heating. - Location was excellent, very close to a supermarket and takeaway food restaurants. All was good, no complaints
- Stephanie (8/5): Perfect location for exploring Freycinet - On the waterfront - a stone’s throw away from the shops at Coles Bay. Good facilities if you’re staying for a few nights, including a washing machine and dryer.
- Agnieszka (8/5): świetna lokalizacja - świetna lokalizacja, wygodne łóżko, kominek stare zużyte patelnie i inne naczynia kuchenne
- ANDREW (10/5): - Location was great right by the water. The cottage was basic but had all we needed for a 2 night stay. The balcony with BBQ was a lovely place to sit out in the evening The only thing that needs addressing is the driveway up to the group of properties that the cottage belongs to. There has been damage that needs repairing as it could cause the car to bottom out when turning into the driveway of Bluestone Cottage.
- Monika (7/5): Beaufiul location and views are gorgeous - Location and views are what makes this accom bed is uncomfortable, needs a new matress or a topper to help the tired old one
- Chris (10/5): -
- Claude (8/5): - Proximity and view Cabinet door falling off
- Bruce (9/5): Compact, clean & comfortable . - Good location, close to national park. The driveway
- sandra (9/5): Fantastic location and very comfortable to live in - Fantastic location a great size for a single person and well equipped though a little dated. The utilities need upgrading. It was a bit of this and a bit of that odd piece here to sort large saucepans instead of one small and one large. A bit more care in this space.
- Mary-Anne (9/5): Weather proof excellent view - Excellent view right on the waterfront. It was windy but I could enjoy the view through full length windows while staying cosy. Very well appointed eg lots of kitchen equipment. The pictures of the exterior show a weathered look however internally the unit was very fresh and substantial with good noise and thermal insulation. The water pressure in the shower was a little weak but nice and hot
- Fiona (5/5): -
- Louise (9/5): -
- caroline (7/5): - Good position
- Lauren Ingham (8/5): Location 10/10 - Perfect location and having a fireplace made it oh so cosy! Also has full top loader washing machine and separate dryer. Bed and pillows could do with an upgrade!
- Carolyn (6/5): -
- Kay (8/5): Very pleasant - Location to freycinet The big pot hole at the entrance of the cabin.
Noisy neighbours.
- Suzchfrank (10/5): Exceptional - Location location location wow simply stunning. Cottage was fantastic, well laid out and all needs covered. Having to leave. 😥
- Beverley (9/5): Superb -
- Karen (5/5): Beautiful spot and good potential but disappointing. - No breakfast We checked out early because smell from bathroom/septic was too much. An attempt to mask the odour with strong disinfectant spray had been made but this combination coupled with nausea from boat cruise made it too much for me.
- David (9/5): Amazing location - Fantastic location
- Sahil (6/5): Pleasant - Good location and nice space. The bedroom and bathroom had strong smells of sewage intermittently and the bedside table had sticky marks on it that we needed to clean.
- Leonie (8/5): Beautiful spot for a quiet getaway - Beautiful views great location to various sights. Shower stall a bit challenging but otherwise all good.
- Michele (10/5): Exceptional -
- Keith (8/5): Very nice accommodation which requires a couple of maintenance issues to be dealt with. - Comfortable accommodation with lovely view. Very close to shop and food options. Unfortunately the septic system was very smelly which was noticeable as we entered and in the bedroom and particularly in the bathroom.
Also, there was an exceptionally deep pothole at the driveway entrance to the Bluestone unit which necessitated driving onto other units driveways to access our unit.
- Gregory (9/5): Superb -
- Russell (1/5): Great view but septic tank stink - Great mountain views and proximity to shops and restaurant. Property was clean but the stink was impossible. The stink from the septic tank was intolerable in the bathroom and bedroom to the extent that we felt physically ill.
- Claudette (9/5): Superb - Excellent location. Very quiet area. Accommodations could stand some updating. Little tired and dated
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Monte (9/5): Superb -
- Dinah (8/5): Great location, comfortable unit - Great location, comfortable unit, appreciated the washing machine No can opener in kitchen, no help from booking agent when I asked them to replace it, freezer was iced up so no space in it.
- Kelly (8/5): Perfect location and everything I needed for my two night stay. - The view! And the location was perfect. Nothing
- Gabrielle (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, good kitchen. Lovely view. 3pm check in is too late.
- Brad (9/5): A great place to relax and soak up all that Coles Bay has to offer. - The location was perfect! Right at the water with great views. Shops and places to eat only minutes away. A short walk to Wineglass Bay cruises. Better directions to get to the cottage. It's at East Esplanade which is well past the initial row of shops and houses.
- Janette (10/5): A great place to stay. Close to amenities and not far from the walks at Freycinet - The whole place to ourselves with a lovely view
- Christine (9/5): Superb - Location was excellent The pillows on the bed need to have a firm and a soft fir choices
- Amberlee (8/5): Location location - The location was amazing. It had most things we needed Just a small thing but I would have liked a fan for the bedroom. It was quite warm when we stayed
- Phillipa (8/5): Tired shack in lovely location - Excellent location, across from the waterfront with views to the mountains across the bay. Close to the local shops and cafes. We arrived to a dreadful smell in the bathroom which recurred during our stay. The "operations team" was advised... Bluestone Cottage is neither bluestone nor a cottage! It is a dated, adjoined timber shack in need of some TLC.
- Anita (8/5): Very pleasant- highly recommend. - This property is excellent- the interior is well thought out with all the facilities as expected and exceeded. Bedding & linen excellent. The position of the property was also brilliant. There was an extremely unpleasant odour in the bathroom which made the experience disappointing. Apart from that, we would highly recommend this.
- Louise (8/5): Very good - Location was great. Comfortable bed. TV was too small. There also was no signal a lot of the time.
There was a smell of septic from time to time which wasn't pleasant.
I had no notification of our code to get in and so had to ring to request it.
- Shantelle (8/5): Very good - The view was spectacular from the balcony, and the location was central to everything. It was also lovely and clean. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The bed was very uncomfortable, and they didn't offer WiFi. I felt that they could also have put in a few extra pillows. Also, and I understand this may not bother everyone, but there was no TV in the bedroom.
- Janelle (9/5): Superb - Location
Veranda and electric BBQ
Free Wifi
- Alix (10/5): We loved our stay at Coles Bay Cottage. It was in a convenient location and had the most beautiful views. Bed, bathroom - The view and the location were awesome. No tea towels
- Peta (8/5): We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The view is stunning. - The view and comfy bed N/a
- Malcolm (9/5): Beachfront location in Coles Bay - The cottage is located on The Esplande in Coles Bay. From the balcony and living area you can look out on the boat ramp and across to The Hazards. It is a great place to relax and enjoy the scenery. It is well equipped if you want to do some cooking. A washing machine and dryer was a bonus. The cottage is starting to show its age. The scenery more than makes up for this.
- Sarah (5/5): The price we paid reflected location only - Location It felt like it wasn’t loved. Whilst it had everything you needed, it was extremely old fashioned.
We also had wild life arguing in the roof!!
- Ron (10/5): A most enjoyable stay in a great location. - Spacious apartment with comfortable furnishing and all the equipment needed for a few days’ stay. Beautiful setting overlooking Coles Bay and the mountains. Like everything!
- Bayden (5/5): Beautiful location bit expensive for the size and the facilities - Location The horrid smell from the septic. The whole house smelt like sewage for 2 days.
- Ritchie (3/5): For the price it didn’t deliver. - Washing and drying facilities Not comfortable at all. Very dated. Kitchen smelt very musty. Bed needs updating.
- Nathan (8/5): Very good - Comfortable cottage with great view from the deck. Great location close to everything.
- Sharon (10/5): Great location. Beautiful views. Close to fish and chips. Great for walking. - The location was fantastic! It is on the waterfront with sensational views. Not a lot of provisions with not many options for shopping. However we loved it here.
- Angelique (10/5): Exceptional -
- Helen (10/5): Beautiful and highly recommended. Will be back. - Best location. The view was great. Fire was lovely. An oven would be great but it was ok without it.
- Luke (8/5): Very good -
- Margaret (10/5): Despite wind and rain, the beautiful view made you feel you weren't missing out on the experience. - The location was stunning, looking across the bay to the Hazards. There was also a convenience store and takeaway shops a couple of minutes walk away. The kitchen was completely equipped for a short or lengthy stay and the washing machine and dryer were a thoughtful inclusion. The fireplace (with kindling and firewood provided) added to the atmosphere.
- Kymt (10/5): Exceptional - perfect location
- Amy (7/5): Bluestone was cosy and a great location in Coles Bay. - It had a great view and was a comfortable size for 2 people. The fire place was the highlight and kept the cabin nice and warm all night. The kitchen could be better equipped with more large bowls and cutlery. A small coffee table would be nice to put our cups and glasses on. The tap in the kitchen needs to be tightened as it moves around when using it. Also the tap on the left side of the kitchen sink could be labelled - is it just an additional cold water tap? The check in time could be earlier or an option for an early check in provided.
- Hoult (10/5): We will be back - Was able to walk everywhere - quiet - lovely view - well equipped
- Aditya (8/5): Very good -
- Phillip (4/5): Best location, disappointing cabin. - Location was wonderful. The fireplace kept us snug at night. Management arranged our use of another empty cabin’s clothes dryer on our first night which we appreciated. The pine wood cabin was tired and is in need of a lot of TLC. Key lock box cover was absent; front fly screen door self close was broken. The clothes dryer was not working; kitchen kettle lid was broken; curtains were broken; only one kitchen bench stool was provided; wall paint was chipped; some cupboards had no handles; bar fridge was unable to freeze a cool brick.
There was no follow up by management with us re clothes dryer use. (Washing machine/dryer was one of the reasons we selected this property). There was no follow up re broken kettle lid which we reported on our first morning.
- Benjamin (8/5): Comfortable cottage in a perfect location for Freycinet National Park. Loved the cosy log burner. -
- Sue (6/5): The cabin was comfortable and convenient to local attractions. The heating worked well. - The location suited our needs. The cabin included a washing machine and basic kitchenette. The cabin is a bit run down and needs some refurbishment. A kitchen drawer handle was broken and some kitchen items were not clean.
- Bernadette (8/5): Great spot to stay to enjoy all Coles Bay has to offer - Close to shop and dining options, incredible view out the window, peaceful. Well set up cottage, clean and comfortable. Only 3 pieces if timber for the fire. Called for more, twice but never delivered
- Benoni (9/5): Enjoyed the location overlooking the bay and warming up by the fireplace - Awesome location
Amazing view
Loved the fireplace
Thoughtful welcome gift Some minor maintenance that needs doing.
Entry lock box is very hard to open and took the skin off my finger and ripped my nail.
- Maria (10/5): Spectacular views from a comfy cabin - Talk about perfect location, this is it. Great space, all within walking distance. I would stay here again. Might need a little tlc makeover, bthrm wall coming loose, mold.
- Elissa (9/5): Superb - loved the view
- Siu (9/5): Comfortable base to explore the National Park - Spacious and comfortable cottage. Kitchen very well equipped. Washing machine and dryer very useful for a long trip Nothing
- Paul (8/5): Very good - We were in cabin one, so we sat out on the deck and had dinner and a drink overlooking the water. A little beach straight out the front, and you could walk around the point for some exploring and great views.
Close to the national park to go exploring.
- Laurie (8/5): Very good - The location and view
- Peter (7/5): Overall we loved Cole’s Bay!!! - The location. How quiet it was. Music playing when we arrived. Quality of the bed linen. Washing machine and drier. Deck was superb. No air conditioner or ceiling fans. No shampoo and conditioner. Not enough milk. Not enough tea bags for two nights. The shower area was dangerous and a potential health hazard. No Netflix.
- Ray_manning (8/5): Very good -
- Carolyn (9/5): Superb -
- Gena (8/5): Beautiful place in a stunning part of Coles Bay. Peaceful and relaxing holiday. - Amazing location and easy to get too. Had everything you needed for a short stay. Great communication and ease of checking in and out. The bed was a little too firm and the driveway in had a very large pot hole which was a bit of a worry with a little car.
- Nicole (8/5): Very good -
- Maree (6/5): Pleasant - Location great. BBQ past its use by date. Unusable.
- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Monika (8/5): relaxing - the lication was awesome as was the view. the place itself is a little bit older fo those wanting modern but perfect for us. will return driveway was rutted and pot holes and the car didnt like it as it was a hill with a huge pot hole so wheels spun getting in and out. apart from that all was geeat
- Cherie (10/5): Exceptional - The location. The comfort. Full size kitchen. Washer and dryer. Nothing
- Robyn (10/5): it was great. - It was a great location. had everything we needed even a washing machine and dryer. I spent alot of time on balcony just looking at the great view. the drive way into the cottage needs to be repaired a great big hole just near turn into park which we had to try and avoid.
- Claire (9/5): Great place to stay and is within walking distance of everything in the town. Fantastic views and a comfortable little c - The location was amazing. Sitting on the veranda looking straight across at the bay and the Hazards. Very minor detail, but it needs a small coffee table to put your cheese platter on when sitting on the couch.
- Daniella (10/5): Exceptional -
- Suellen (9/5): Superb -
- Barry (8/5): Very good -
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional - The view and location were fantastic! The added touch with the plunger coffee really made my first morning in Tassie special.

- Jocelyne (8/5): Very good -
