Guest Reviews
- Ashley (10/5): -
- Tammie (10/5): Great stay for the rate. - Very nice and great price. Less dog noise.
- Alexis (1/5): Absolutely the worst motel I’ve ever in my life stayed at! - Absolutely nothing!!! Wouldn’t recommend For starters our room was filthy, the towels for us to use were covered with hair, brown & red marks (don’t believe they were stains, looked fresh). When we first walked in it smelt like a dead animal, later found a super moldy taco in our fridge that had looked like it’s been there for a while. The bed had dirt all in the sheets and red streaks on the pillows, on top of that the tub didn’t drain well at all. There was no people to check us in or out, didn’t see a single worker the whole time we stayed (3 nights), we had no instructions on how to get our own fresh towels, etc. Lastly to put the cherry on top of everything, we find a dead BED BUG on our floor when leaving to go home, which then we had to spend 50 dollars in dry cleaning before we could even go inside our home which was a 4 hour drive back! The man who stayed next to us had mentioned before our arrival, he did not see any cleaning being done to our room. Now after our completely uncomfortable stay, we don’t get any charge to our debit card. I had thought maybe since contacting the lady (jenna) about our stay being very unpleasant, that she was not going to charge us because we seen no charge for weeks. Welp today at the last day of the month (when most mortgages/etc are due) WE GET CHARGED! I cannot express how much I DO NOT recommend this place to anyone! Horrible service, and cannot contact anyone during your stay rather that’s through phone or person. This place is a complete disaster & joke!

- Lisa (1/5): Very problematic. - Arrived around 9pm, the key left taped to the door did not open our room. We were locked out with no where to go and a baby. Manager finally responded after many phone calls and texts. She changed us to another room where the bathtub did not drain. Additionally, I slipped and fell on ice in front of the room that was not properly cleared, and sustained a knee injury. We canceled the remaining days after staying one night and left.
- Daniel (8/5): Great value and location if you need to stay by Traverse City. - Very clean and a bag of snacks was waiting for us when I picked up the key. The shower drain doesn’t work well so my son was standing in a few inches of water by the time he finished. It would also be nice if the exterior door to the room had a swing back or chain lock on the inside instead of only the single lock. Anyone with a spare key could enter at anytime.
- Rebekah (8/5): -
- Christine (10/5): We had a great time - The staff was great as well as the snack provided
- Wasek (8/5): -
- Ashley (4/5): - It was quite and clean There was absolutely no staff on to check us in or anything. Through the whole stay . Had several questions tried to call and no one answered
- Rich (10/5): -
- Kimberly (7/5): Good - Good location, clean and comfortable. Not easy to contact staff.
- Kim (10/5): -
- Pat (9/5): - Nice quaint place to stay. The staff were pleasant and very kind. TV - We weren't able to get the MI sports games.
- Deidra (9/5): - One of the only places in the area that allowed large dogs. I have a 135 lb Newfoundland. Very clean and comfortable. Newly updated.

- Lindahill (8/5): - There was no breakfast available at 8:30 before we left at 9:00.
- Maria Veronica (10/5): - El cuarto muy cómodo 😃 La verdad todo me gustó ,no puedo quejarme
- TIM (8/5): -
- Kimberly (10/5): - Clean rooms, close to Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes. The staff is very responsive to any issues and is very friendly and helpful. They also leave you a little snack bag on the check-in counter which is very thoughtful:) This is my sister and I's favorite place to stay when we are in the area!
- Andrea (9/5): nice stay - price Was hoping price was slightly cheaper
- Grumpy (8/5): Nice quiet clean hotel - Location Everything was very nice
- DELORES (10/5): Breath easy - The maids were very accommodating Quiet peaceful friendly
- ROGER (10/5): - Large suite for the price.
- Ireland (10/5): A perfect place for a close stay to Traverse City! - This place was amazing! It was super close to Traverse city, with a great price for the room. The Management/ owner was super friendly and helpful. She went above and beyond for our stay, helping us with a booking. Com issue before our stay, providing us with an ironing board, and utensils. The property was well kept and the room was very clean. The bathroom was extremely spacious and overall we had an amazing stay.
- Horn (9/5): - Very clean! Shows a breakfast, but nothing was said that they offered it.
- Velma (10/5): - Very quaint
- Karen (10/5): - The staff was friendly and responsive, The price was very reasonable for the area. The room had recently been updated
- Diane (10/5): - Clean, well maintained, staff friendly and very helpful
- James (9/5): Good for us - Location Breakfast was not great
- mary (10/5): - Beautuful property, ckean, safe area, and friendly staff.
- Dan (10/5): - Great experience. Easy check-in.
- Michelle (10/5): - Clean and recently remodeled
- barry (8/5): - The rooms were renovated but still or somewhat dated. Our room was a mini suite of sorts and had a mini kitchen. Would have been good for a small family since it offered two queen beds and a living area with couch and chairs and table. Was not as close to Traverse City as advertised on Expedia. The manager was as nice as could be and very friendly. She even provides snacks and beverages in the office. It was fine for one night and served our purposes well.
- Debra (10/5): - Clean
- Alan (10/5): - Welcoming staff, resonalbe rate, high-quality room.
- Laura (8/5): - I was pleasantly surprised - clean and well maintained. Not a 4-star hotel but was nice. I would definitely stay there again!
- James (8/5): - Big room clean no carpet like that smells good. No place to get breakfast
- Beth (10/5): -
- Yvonne F (10/5): - It was excellent for a place to stay while working in the area
- Yvonne F (10/5): - Place excellent. This questionier not great as I received it times 3
- Starback (9/5): Superb -
- Katerina (8/5): Very good -
- Elizabeth (8/5): Very good -
- Bill (6/5): Pleasant -
- Peter (8/5): Very good - Very calm motel appr. 15 minutes drive away from Traverse City
- Michelle (10/5): - Jenna was wonderful! She responded immediately to any questions we had. Her fresh baked cookies on arrival were a delicious treat 🍪
- Rebecca (10/5): - Perfect place to stay. Friendly staff. Quiet, clean and spacious. Would stay here again if in the area.
- Gruhn (4/5): Disappointing - Location Not the most friendly staff, the room wasn't very clean and the drains in the tub wer so slow the water would be past your ankles before you could take a quick shower
- 2020 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pool (9/5): Superb -
- Jim (8/5): One night stay before TVC flight - One night stay before a flight out of Traverse City. At first when I drove up, I thought I might have made a mistake booking this night with my wife (she has higher standards). When we entered our room we found it to be quite nice and mostly updated. Only one issue was a slightly leaky toilet bowl, which the service guy took care of. I would stay here again.
- Jason (10/5): Supper clean and comfortable!! - Beautiful location and wonderful facilities!
- John (8/5): - Clean and quiet. Perfect for our needs.
- Beth (6/5): Pleasant - no micro at all, and the dear lady made sure she brought us some coffee as was only decaff in the room, Very kind and sweet and very helpful and over the top to make sure all went well during my one night stay... No micro, could have used and no working light in big tv , living room, couldnt get tv to work, but it might have been me and my technology. Nfs. great quiet stay and clean and comfy room.. thanks so much..
- Nicole (10/5): -
The officee was clean and inviting. The manager was so nice. It was the biggest bathroom I have ever seen in a place before. Very quaint. I will recommend to anyone and would stay there again definitely. The beds were comfortable too.
- Lani (9/5): Superb - We needed a weekend stay during our daughter's softball tournament, and we were not disappointed! The location is great and it was very easy to get to Traverse City, but is also far enough away to avoid the busyness that goes along with TC. It was quiet, the room was very clean and prepared for our arrival with a running AC (something we greatly appreciated while under a heat advisory), and the beds were quite comfortable. The price compared to staying in Traverse City was significantly better as well! We will absolutely stay here for future trips!
- Pool (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dorothy (10/5): - Clean ..lawn needed mowed by picnic tables. Unable to get hot water for shower microwave did work
- Douglas (8/5): - Good place to stay .
- Christian (10/5): - This is a vintage motel in rural Michigan a few miles south of Traverse City that has recently been revamped. Very affordable. The suite we rented had a bedroom, tv room, bathroom, and kitchenette (complete with 2 burner stove, sink, and small refrigerator). Equipped with basic dishwater, and a coffee pot and coffee pod supplied for am. WiFi of course and web connected tv.
This was a serendipitous experience, highly recommend if you’re up that way
- James (10/5): - It was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. We would stay again.
- Chad (10/5): Perfect stay outside of Traverse City - Couldn't have been happier with our stay. Way better than your average hotel room, with friendly staff and thoughtful accommodations. Our only complaint would be that the hairdryer didn't work, and that the staff weren't quite as present as we would have liked, but were still accessible via phone/text. Snacks were always on hand in the office, and there was no hesitation to meet our needs or offer suggestions for where to eat (the K and I Inn quickly became our crew's favorite place by far). All in all, we would definitely stay at the Kingsley Suites again if ever staying in the Traverse City area.
- Beth (10/5): - This property was nearby where we were fishing and it worked out perfectly for us. Would stay here again.
- Sarah (1/5): This property canceled my reservation with no notification. - This hotel canceled my reservation without notifying me. After driving 4 hours I arrived to a lobby with nobody in it. There was a phone number, so I called and texted several times with no response. A resident at the hotel entered the lobby and told me the manager appeared to be out, but she would call for me. The manager finally called me back after approximately 20 minutes of me waiting in the lobby and told me my room had been canceled. When I told her I had received no notification of this cancellation, she said that was a problem on Booking.com's end. At 7pm at night I was driving around Traverse City in a snowstorm looking for a place for myself, 2 kids and 2 dogs to stay for the night. No notification of the cancelation. Nobody in the lobby. 20 minute response time when calling from the lobby for help.
- Kevin (10/5): - Simple check in and check out. Friendly gal, Jenna working the desk. $57 for a night!
- Joshua (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (8/5): Good - Nice little snack bag at check in! Not able to talk to person face to face.
- Mills (10/5): Exceptional - This is my 2nd stay at the Kingsley Suites. we will be making this stop a permanent addition to.pur annual trip to MI.
- Linfield (6/5): It was acceptable for a single brief night. - Location was convenient, welcome bag and snacks in office were appreciated. Floor was very sticky throughout the room, tub didn’t drain adequately so showering was unpleasant, not a fan of the memory foam mattress.
- Saxman (10/5): loved Kingsley suites. - everything was great bed was supper. vary clean.
- William (1/5): SHITTY!!!! DON'T CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER. - Nothing. EVERYTHING!!!!!! The office was empty when we arrived. Waited 10 minutes and called the number on the door. It belonged to the office girl who was off sick. There should have been a guest bag, which there was not. She gave us the code to get key for room 10. We parked by the room and opened the door only to find clothes all over. Thank God they weren't in there doing the nasty. She tried to Nick the owner who was supposed to be covering her. He DID NOT answer. We didn't have a room and EVERY HOTEL WAS FULL!! Try getting a room on a Saturday night. We ended up driving 3 hours back home. I WOULD NOT RECOMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE!!!
- Rebecca (8/5): Very good - Small and quiet
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Dawn (9/5): Superb -
- Hailey (8/5): Very good - staff was incredibly nice and helpful. It’s right next to a gas station which was also nice for grabbing snacks or coffee. The management is new and they’re in the process of revamping the property and you can tell they’re really trying to make it nice and new.
- Ali (8/5): Very good - Very clean place Nothing
- John (8/5): Short and sweet! - Claimed to have a recent update but the lavatory was still the old on. Still a very nice place with all of the new upgrades.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - very convenient for our needs. would stay there again.
- Antonio (6/5): - Staff was extremely helpful, very polite.
- Martin (8/5): Very good -
- Kenneth (5/5): DOUBT I USE THIS FACILITY AGAIN - IT WAS CLOSE TO MY DAUGHTERS HOUSE, GAS STATION ACROSS ROAD. SO WE COULD GET COFFEE AND A QUICK BREAKFAST. OH AND ICE! THEY SAY SUITES!! BUT IT WAS AN OLD MOTEL THAT HAD BEEN REVAMPED. NO WIFI, ROOM PHONE DIDN'T WORK, DIDN'T MATTER THOUGH I HAD MY CELL PHONE. NO BREAKFAST AVAILABLE. COULDN'T HARDLY EVEN MAKE CONTACT WITH WHO RAN THE PLACE. WHEN ASKED ABOUT GETTING ICE WE WERE TOLD THE GAS STATION HAS SOME. THE OUTLET FOR THE REFRIGERATOR AND MICROWAVE ONLY HAD ONE WORKING SIDE, SO WE DECIDED NOT TO USE EITHER FOR WORRY OF A POSSIBLE ELECTRIC SHORT., WOULD HAVE INFORMED MANAGERS BUT COULDN'T FIND ONE. CHECK OUT AMOUNTED TO DROPPING KEYS IN BASKET..
- Kimberly (2/5): The place could be super charming with a little more tlc the staff was extremely pleasant - Water was sulfery
Lots of flies and bugs in room
Tub was stained-did not use
No bedding was provided for sleeper sofa
Mattresses were old and very uncomfortable
The room smelled like a smokers house
- Kyle (10/5): - Little home away from home with the gas station walking distance and a great food place only a 10 min drive
- Tracy Rieon (10/5): - It was nice but the beds weren't comfortable they were entirely too soft so I slept on the couch. The staff were nice and the place was nice. I would come here again and they're pet friendly.
- Vince (8/5): Very good -
- Ben (1/5): We didn’t stay here because it was dirty. - Jenna at the front desk was very kind. Surprised they offered a make shift breakfast bar. Room was not clean. Dog pee on the door. Money and large crumbs on the floor. Moved a chair to adjust for cot, gross under, not vacuumed. Hair and money on the bathroom floor. Just yuck.
- Tina (6/5): Pleasant - Room was roomy. However floors under bed were dirty!! Seems like no one swept under bed.. actually all over the floors weren't really clean.
- Debbie (4/5): - The property is old needs a lot of updates. There is no one in the lobby to help you. Went to get a cup of coffee in the morning there was cold coffee left over from the day before. Would not recommend x
Mm
- Ladarreyon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vaughn (10/5): - Great clean rooms for a great price. We will stay again.
- Carmen (1/5): Poorly run never going back - shame cause it used to be nice. - Location No staff onsite all 3 days. "Complimentary breakfast" wss nonexistent. Expired yogurt, no coffee made, garbage of breakfasts past on counter.Metal Bed frame was bigger then mattress, making it a hazard getting in and out of bed. Bath towels were the size of dish towels, thin and stained. Toilet paper holder fell off wall.No coffee or cups in room for the coffeemaker ( again no staff) no ice maker or vending on premises. Very disappointing had stayed there in the past and had good experiences. Never anyone in the office, she just left keys in envelope with guests full names and room nu.ber on counter, both days we were there-doesnt seem safe or private. Really poorly run.
- Wayne (7/5): Good -
- Kevin (8/5): - Everything was good except the hot water was barely warm enough for a shower.
- Cheryl (6/5): - Average room. Very convenient parking
- Scott (8/5): - Very clean, I would go back
- anne (8/5): - We stayed for 1 night after visiting Elk Rapids. The location was convenient, the price right, it was clean except for the bathroom sink had some stains. I prefer a firm not a foam mattress. Took us awhile to figure out the light switch was not for an outside light but rather for the microwave!
But when we arrived we spent about 5 sec at the desk picking up our key...easy peasy!
- Mark (2/5): - The room was filthy.
