- ATSUSHI (8/5): メコン川クルーズが目的でした - 私にとってはホテルではなくメコン川クルーズが目的でした。 クルーズ会社に見積依頼のメールを出しましが、こちらで予約する方がお得でしたので、ここから予約をいたしました。私が予約した直後からクルーズ付きでは予約できなくなったようです。 パークベンでは高級ホテルとされているようですが、一般的には中級ホテルに分類すべきではないでしょうか。アメニティはタオル以外なかったと記憶しています。ホテルのレストラン等の設備は室内ということではなく、すべてオープンエアーです。客室の窓はルーバーになっており、窓を閉めても外気が直接入ってきます。1月下旬で夜は気温がかなり下がりますが、毛布を掛けたベッドではあまり寒くはなく、虫もほとんど入ってきませんでした。 3食付きのツアーで、船上及びホテルでの食事はビュッフェ形式で、味は良かったです。私の予約がうまく伝わっていなかったようで、パークベンからルアンパバーンまでのクルーズ代金（$320）をホテルで追加請求されました。全額入金済みのエビデンスを持っておりましたので、ホテル側は間違いを認めて謝罪を受けました。 特筆すべきはクルーズで、途中で少数民族の村2か所とパークウー洞窟に立ち寄ります。丸々2日間のクルーズは双眼鏡片手に楽しめ、途中で少々飽きますが、船上でのんびりできるのは良い所です。私はメコン川を下りましたが、上りの方が船の対地速度が小さいので、時間は余計に少しかかるものの、岸辺の風景を眺めるには良いかもしれません。17名の乗客は米国、フランス、スイス、ベルギー、インド等と多彩で、日本人は私たちの夫婦だけでした。乗客全員は当日タイからの陸路入国でした。出入国管理事務所のある友好橋の両側で、クルーズ会社のスタッフがアシストしてくれますが、日本人はラオスのビザが不要ですので、ラオスへの入国は簡単です。ラオス入国後、ファイサーイの船着き場まではミニバンで送っていただけます。ファイサーイからパークベンまでの航海中、体調を崩された方がいて、パークベン手前の橋のところで臨時に岸につけ、1組のご夫婦が下船されました。 ホテルからパークベンのダウンタウンまでは15～20分ほど歩かなければなりませんが、私たち夫婦は好奇心が強いので、夕食前に街に出てみました。他のスローボートは街中につきますので、その船着き場を中心にホテル/ゲストハウスやレストランが多く並んでいます。ツアー客（ほとんどが西洋人で東洋人は見かけませんでした）も多く歩いておりました。 このツアーで人気のルアンパバーンへ入るクルーズは、西洋人の間で人気が出てきており、そのうち日本人にも人気が出てくるように感じます。ルアンパバーンの街中は中国人の団体であふれておりますので、その中国人がクルーズに参加してくる前に先取りすることをお勧めします。
