- Nicola (10/5): Warm,friendly hosts, fantastic breakfast, worth it - Fantastic stay, well worth the money, great hosts and delicious breakfast.! We turned up early before the official Checking in time so we were going to find out about parking and come back later however the room was nearly ready so while Pauline welcomed us, Dave finished getting the room ready, by the time we had chosen our breakfast options we had the keys to the room. Parking is available on their driveway or in the bays on the street for a limit time and there is also a carpark near by, we had no trouble parking, we were able to park on the drive for our whole stay. Pauline and Dave were very warm, welcoming and friendly, it felt more like a home away from home. We were in room 5, a large bedroom with double bed and 2 twin beds, ample space for what we needed. TV, coffee facilities, good WiFi connection, the room was very clean, the bed was very comfortable, shower was lovely and the breakfast was amazing, fresh products, cooked perfectly, and the other guests were very friendly. There was a lovely atmosphere in the breakfast room, Pauline looked after us well and Dave cooked a brilliant breakfast. Overall we had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend staying there. Next time we go to Clacton we will definitely see if they have a room avaliable. Thank you Pauline & Dave for all your hard work, looking after us and making us feel very welcomed. We loved meeting you and had a wonderful time.

- Dawn (10/5): - We booked a Double Ensuite Room. On arrival our room was the family room. Wow what a massive room. It had 3 beds. Lovely fresh looking room, so clean. Beds were comfortable. Shower had great pressure and water was hot. We also booked a twin room. This too was lovely and clean. Had a kettle, teas and coffees for use, as did the Double Room. Pauline & Dave were brilliant hosts. Nothing was too much if you requested anything. You could tell that they had been hosts for a long time. Breakfast was choosen by yourself, ticked off your prefered items on a list. Presentation was appetising. More toast, tea or coffee was not a problem. I would highly reccommend you stay at the Adelaide Guest House for a welcoming homely stay. I definitely will be staying here on my next visit to Clacton On Sea. Would thoroughly recommend this accommodation. Would stay again. One minor criticism the room was terribly hot, but otherwise a brilliant find.

The only inconvenience for me is I would have preferred a late check out by 11 or 12 not 10...and breakfast to be served until at least 10 am...Being away and off work I wanted to sleep more in the mornings and have this flexibility to not wake up 8 am and breakfast to be served just between 8.30-9 am

- Samuel (10/5): Superb Guest House - One of the best I've ever had the pleasure to stay in. A good sign when I walked through the front door was the clean and fresh smell. The room was spacious and was very nicely decorated, bed was so comfy. It's obvious Dave and Pauline take great pride in their guest house as it was spotless and well decorated throughout with attention to detail. I enjoyed the well-cooked breakfast which has a wide choice and how it was delivered by Pauline on individual table trolleys. The location is very good as it's within easy walking distance of the pier, shops, restaurants etc. The weather was quite warm when I stayed so I left the bedroom window open at night and had no problem with outside noise or indeed inside noise from other guests so along with the comfy bed I had a great nights sleep. If you're staying in Clacton-on-Sea I can highly recommend Adelaide Guest House.

- Justin (10/5): Proper old school guesthouse! Loved it. - We had a lovely stay. From arrival our welcome was warm and informative. The whole place was spotless and run like a well oiled machine. Bed was super comfortable and bedding made for a good nights sleep. Breakfast was great. Lots of thoughtful little touches for guests. Location so central to town, easy access to everything. Pauline a nd David are so friendly and psrsonal which you don't get in big corperate hotels. Loved it! Proper old school guesthouse. Definitely will go back!

Comfortable nights sleep, you have to complete a breakfast order when you arrive which was no problem and breakfast was lovely everything we asked for. They are very conscious of hygiene following Covid. 5 min walk to seafront and shops. Would recommend staying here if you were in the area.

- Jayne (6/5): Lovely accomodation shame about the owner - Nothing wrong with the accomodation, spotlessly clean. Problem is with the lady owner who didnt seem to like when i mentioned that there was no hot water in the shower. Apparently its common sense to run the hot water tap if the shower runs cold! Surely if there is likely to be a problem with the shower running cold then it would make sense to either tell whoever is occupying the room or put a notice in the room.

- Emma (6/5): Not that good - Got there late cos traffic the man ouner friendly had a cupple of issues ask for help and his wife come out not freindley went out for a day I said morning to her she see and egnored us the we went for breakfast on the Sunday it was not good at all tasted very bland bacon was dry and my poached egg the hash brown tasted like it just come out the freezer she needs to lurn some people skills wouldn't tstay again all so because the place was overpowering with the smell of cleaning substances and he was mopping the carpet very strange OK for price

- Nicholas (10/5): A lovely guest house - A lovely guest house away from the main town centre, yet still only a short walk to the beach. Very clean & tidy, a hearty English breakfast & the owner, David was very welcoming.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - we didnt get to visit this hotel as we booked to bring my nephew back home and whilst he was with us my mum passed away so he stayed for her funeral. during this hard time, i overlooked and forgot to cancel the reservation. expedia contacted the hotel, which took them quite a while as they never answer the phone. they blankly refused to refund our money, not even half of it or at very least a 'sorry for your loss' from the manager. this might as well be a chain as theres no compassion from the owners. my family reguarly visit to see my nephew in clacton on sea. i have made them all aware to avoid this place at all costs. i hope you can live with yourselves, to show no compassion. i dont dish out bad reviews usually but i felt i needed to on this occasion.
