Guest Reviews
- Sharat (10/5): -
- Ann (4/5): Not able to sleep due to beds. - It was nicely decorated. I liked 2 separate sleeping areas. Nice linens that smelled good There was a cockroach on the table where we ate.
The beds were unbearably firm. It was like sleeping on a slab of plywood.
- Pavan (8/5): -
- William (8/5): - For the money, I couldn't have been more thrilled. I couldn't figure out how to work the tv cable, but I don't have cable at home...
- Sam Vinogar (8/5): -
- Irena (9/5): - We stayed in this motel twice this summer. On both visits we had a great experience, and we will certainly come again. The staff - Robin - is the most wonderful person. She is very helpful and kind. The rooms are very clean; bed is comfortable. We recommend this motel. Irena
- Ambre (7/5): -
- Rosemary (8/5): -
- Powers (4/5): - It was Close to The saugeen river The bed wasn't comfortable
- Brian (6/5): - It was close to where we were going. Tv controls were not working in room 5.
- Matt (10/5): - Everything you needed for a one night stay
- Lincoln (4/5): Convenient but like all of Southampton - expensive - Aging State of repair - scarred and tired floor, water damaged flooring, tired
- Colleen (6/5): - Room was very basic. Pillowcases were more for display not meant to sleep on. 1 overhead light in main room that was too bright not a lamp or entable to be found.
The woman who checked us in was very kind and friendly though
- PREDRAG (10/5): - Everything
- Pat (5/5): -
- Sarah (2/5): Skip this one - Nothing There were no redeeming features. It wasn't downright dirty, we will give it that but it was about as bottom of the barrel as it gets for a two star hotel...and for that, super overpriced!! Ratty furnishings, shoddy and makeshift repairs, subpar plumbing, broken broom and rusted ciggie butt can at the front door, cobweb loaded window wells, duct tape repairs, lumpy pillows, threadbare towels..ugh!
- Mara Paula (10/5): -
- David (9/5): - Spiders outside doorway
- Anna (9/5): Quiet and cozy with good value for money - rooms were clean and comfortable no exhaust in the bathroom
- Sharon (1/5): Do not book here unless it the apocalypse and you’re seeking shelter from zombies - 0/10 avoid this place like the plaque.
Booked rooms through bookings.com
Did not get the rooms we booked and overcharged my credit card over the phone. Would not refund or respond to messages. Horrible Dumpy place. Bugs in the bathroom, beds were like something from 1969. Strange smells in the rooms
- Somosi (7/5): -
- Sharat (9/5): Value for money - Great value for money, very clean and the staff are super friendly. It was quiet and I felt safe.
- Jamie (6/5): - Staff were super friendly.
- Shirley (8/5): Nice and helpful staff. Clean room. - Nice location. Helpful and friendly staff Clorox smell
- Rob (4/5): - No amenities, just an old worn down hotel.
- Alvaro (10/5): - A wonderful staff! The only con is the location, next to the highway.
- MonLeBlanc (8/5): - Exceptional customer service. Robyn went off of her way to make it stay a success.
Great location. The curtains could be thicker for privacy, and could use lamp on bedside table.
- Stacey (8/5): - Location is great very easy to get to plenty of parking. Very clean, staff was amazing and very accommodating. Bed was comfortable ..Great price. We would stay again.
- Michael (10/5): It was a very peaceful and positive stay thanks to Robyn's tireless efforts of managing everythin - Robyn and Jay were so welcoming and friendly. They asked us if we needed anything to not hesitate to let them know. The room was very clean. The location was fabulous. Just minutes drive to the beach. We requested a quiet room. We got exactly that, not to mention seeing a large rabbit munching on some plants 10 feet from our open door. We would stay here again in a heart beat! It's great value and so much more, for the money! It's a fantastic older motel that gives you a good night's sleep. We lucked out booking at Stop21 Motel!! See you next summer. We have no complaints what so ever.
- Irina (10/5): -
- Terry-Jo (6/5): -
- Roxana (9/5): -
- Ronald (8/5): Grand Fondo stay - Good ac and clean Messy around building
- Marcela (1/5): Run down truck spot that should not be a motel. - Nothing. Disgusting. It is a truck spot. And the pictures are deceiving. I disliked everything about the property.
- Carol Ann (2/5): - The place is a dump. Sign in bathroom saying do not not flush TOILET PAPER! Did not look like pictures online at all. Could not stay there, got a room else where. Now trying to get refund from Expedia.
Rien
- Silvana (9/5): Amazing, affordable and convenient stay!! - I loved the fact that there was colorful rooms, big washroom, a mini fridge and a microwave which is such a big difference for when you are traveling. What great value for money! I will be rebooking for sure. The staff was so fun and nice haha :)
Oh yeah! And the pillows were so comfy omg (please tell me what they were i forgot to look haha) No deadbolt lock, would be nice to have that and my friend wants me to say spiders lmaooo
- Rajiv (6/5): - Bed was comfortable. Place is rundown and in need of some TLC. Got what we paid for. Relatively clean
- Sharat (9/5): -
- Ian (7/5): -
- Diaz (8/5): - For the price, it is a really good place to stay and staff is friendly There is a bit of dust, could be cleaner
- Madhavakumar (4/5): - Outside of room, there is plenty of parking and inside room ok..but lot of house flies, spiders are too many...
- Caleb (10/5): - Cozy rooms and extremely frieny staff
- Grewal (10/5): -
- Martha M. (7/5): Not fancy, but everything worked well, and the owners were incredibly nice. - The owners were incredibly nice. They actually packed up my stuff for me when I made a mistake on my checkout date and thought I was staying an additional night. The room had everything I needed. The bed was comfortable, and there was a table, two chairs, a fridge and a kettle; the shower was good, the air conditioning and wifi worked well, and my neighbours were mostly quiet. The motel is on the highway just south of Southampton, not the most convenient location for access to the beach and town - although it was only a short walk to the huge Rexall drugstore, which was handy. Aesthetically the room was pretty basic - e.g. there was plastic covering the window (to prevent drafts? not sure). The room was stuffy if I didn't use the AC - there was no way to open a window. There was an ant trap on the floor (better than having ants though!). At night the exterior door was covered in spiders, and it was a bit tricky to get into the room without bringing them with me - I wished I had a stick or something to take them off. There was no dresser, although there was a drawer in a cabinet and a couple more in the bathroom. The walls seemed pretty thin - I could hear my neighbour snoring. Given all this, the price seemed a bit steep, but it was a good practical room in a resort town at the height of tourist season, so fair enough.
- Tracey (9/5): The people especially Robyn 100% brilliant- thank you - Great location Nothing
- Pierre (9/5): -
- Vasile (6/5): -
- maria (9/5): -
- Frederick (8/5): A low price to just lay down and sleep. -
A place to sleep at a low price. Room was a bit small but clean. No breakfast but that was ok by us as Tim Hortons was right around the corner. Reception desk was friendly
took care of us promptly. Room had free wifi, tv, small fridge.
- Marianne (5/5): Appreciated how clean the room was, I felt safe staying there, I didn’t have any problems - Very clean rooms Very outdated and run down, saw a bug on the wall in the room and I think it was a cockroach!
- Gonzalo (10/5): - The Motel was quaint and comfortable, the beds and sofa we're very comfortable, the cleanliness of the room was top notch, the staff was friendly
- Lisa (7/5): Easy stay with comfy beds - Comfortable beds and affordable. The are no utensils or crockery available to use at this place. You need to purchase from the shop down the road to r bring with you.
- Yan (4/5): - Cheap chemical cleaning smell in a sealed room (with aircon on). The only way to get fresh air is to open the door but there are bugs and mosquitos. Everything looks cheap and basic.
- John (4/5): - Did not like my stay and would not come again
- Paula (8/5): - Great budget motel, room was small but very clean and was fine. A minor inconvenience but the TV channels were very limited, otherwise no complaints.
- Valeriia (10/5): -
- Chica (10/5): - The room and the host Everything was good
- Paul (9/5): -
- Shawn (6/5): - Proximately to beer store
- Pathak (5/5): -
- Marie France (8/5): -
- Akta (8/5): - Good location
- Nicole (9/5): - modern & clean room pipes in the bathroom were a little smelly, but nothing too bad
- Karanjeet (10/5): - Great place with good price
- Brie (10/5): Great stay.had everything we needed.staff was firefly and helpful - Very clean. Friendly staff A little out dated, but not a big deal
- Abhishek (9/5): Value for money - It is more than barebones ..made a perfect stop for the night. The owner was nice & accommodating. No issues whatsoever. For the price point, it is perfect. The building itself is a little dated, I couldnt care much
- Buddhika (9/5): Good - A/C
- Francisco (4/5): -
- thomas (5/5): Value for the money, much better than sleeping in a tent on a wet cold night - Jason and his wife were extremely genuine and friendly. Our room was very clean ! The property is quite old and messy looking from the outside, not a fault of the people that run it .
When using the shower you could smell septic gasses coming out of the floor drain. I presume a vent is plugged somewhere.
- Linda (6/5): - Would like better lighting facilities, e.g., bed lamps in addition to single overhead, ceiling light.
- Quevillon (10/5): - Clean and quiet Nothing
- Joanne (5/5): horrible sleep and I will not use them again - the woman that checked me in was nice to talk to and very friendly the room was tiny. the floor was freezing. the mattress was extremely hard. there was no bar soap to shower with. the towels were thread bare. and it was in terrible need of a paint job
- lilianna (10/5): -
- Deborah (6/5): - The lock on the door did not work well. It needs to be changed. Nice layout. Liked the shower.
- Susan (10/5): - I had a great stay here! Robin was fantastic - friendly and always willing to help me find places to eat or spots to do the activities I was interested in. The room was very clean and the bed was quite comfortable. The shower also had a hand-held shower head and great water pressure. Thanks for a great stay and hope to see you again!
- Gidget A Jamias- (8/5): - Room was clean, beds are comfortable, staff is accommodating and helpful, shout out to Robin.
- Ralph (9/5): - Location, right on the highway but far enough back not hear all the traffic. Bathroom is dated, rest of the room was great.
- lisa (10/5): - The area in front of the motel is not impressive. But the motel itself was just what we wanted. A clean room with a clean bed and clean bathroom. That part was perfect.
- David (8/5): - Getting to the back of motel in the dark.
- cedric (10/5): -
- Cedric (10/5): -
- Mukherjee (7/5): - The beds are comfortable, microwave, mini fridge were there and easy parking There was no handle to hang our clothes in the washroom, the shower was leaking water and it was very inconvenient when we were going to take showers .
- Arian (4/5): - SPIDERS EVERYWHERE
- Gwen (10/5): - The bed was very comfortable . The motel is very old and has not been updated much , although the brightly painted walls were interesting . The plumbing needs to be upgraded as the sign said not even toilet paper was to be flushed !!!
The only lighting in the bed area was a very bright ceiling fixture . Not very inviting to relax and read a book .
The lighting also in the yard and the “Stop 21” sign is very dim - I drove right by on my return in the dark .
The building out by the road is very dilapidated , with junk around the building that needs to be cleaned up .
The big window in my unit was sealed shut with heavy plastic ( I presume to keep heat , and cold weather out ). Bathroom window appeared to be screwed shut . Both these things would be safety violations.
I had a great sleep, did not use shower so cannot comment on that .
This is a very old ( 8 units ) motel , and Robyn and Jay are obviously trying to improve the place , but it needs a lot more !!!!
- Emma (10/5): Cute, small, and perfect for our one night stay - Bed comfortable, AC worked well, very clean, and cute vibe. Bathroom was just fine, TV, microwave and fridge worked well. No complaints, exactly what we needed Darker curtains to block out light, but really no complaints!
- Kyung (9/5): Very nice staff. -
- Andy (9/5): -
- Marilou (10/5): -
- E (10/5): - A cozy room 2 minutes from the main beach for a very reasonable price. No complaints about the room.
- Dickson (8/5): -
- Eric (9/5): -
- Tracey (9/5): Staff are awesome! Robyn is fantastic, very friendly, she makes you feel right at home - The room was clean, nicely decorated and comfy Would have liked to be closer to the beach
- Ashish (8/5): -
- Pauline (10/5): Don't miss this hidden gem! - Stop 21 is a hidden gem! Great value for the money, and we have never been treated so well at any other Booking.com accommodation.
The friendly and cheerful staff reached out to ask if there was anything that we might need (since there was a good chance that we might arrive after the office closed). They thoughtfully turned on the A/C and the lights in preparation for our arrival. As we were unpacking, they came by to introduce themselves and make sure we had everything that we would need.
The room was spacious, quaintly decorated, and VERY clean. There were ample towels and toiletry samples for each member of our group (a rare occurrence, really). The pillows were fluffy, and the mattresses were firm, making for an excellent night's sleep. The kitchenette was roomy with plenty of counter space to prepare food had we been so inclined.
The position of the office in relation to our room beautifully buffered the sounds of the highway.
We will absolutely return the next time we are in the area. In fact, we discussed perhaps spending a week or so later in the season. The only downfall is that outlets are sparse. We solved the problem with a power tower charger that we had on hand.
