Guest Reviews
- Mike (10/5): - Rae took really good care of me. Dont book anything in advance.. just book the tours the night before with Rae.. he has all the hook ups taken care of for you.
- Mike (10/5): - The Bulskamp is across from a Hostel called Friends which is a cool place but it is loud at night. Id reccomend bringing ear plugs. I use those silicone ones called air pillows you can get off amazon. Rae took really good care of me while I was there. He books everything for you, no need to book in advance. The tours were spectacular. Best vacation ever. Oh.. watch your toes when getting up at night to go to the bathroom. There is a lip/edge that I banged my toe on.. it hurt in the dark.
- CYNTHIA J (10/5): - great place - lake a haven from the noise - with super friendly and helpful staff. Thank you for everything and our last minute booking - on the wrong day they they quickly corrected for us. If we return to southern Bali, we will stay here for sure and would highly recommend. Clean and large pool, lots of chairs with cusions, beach towels, excellent AC
- Aron (10/5): - Amazing staff, great location and vibe
- Kimberly (8/5): - Cute property. Very accessible to restaurants, bars and shopping. Also beach where you meet for tours A-D close by. Room extremely small. Aircon good. WiFi did not work in our room but worked in lobby area. Area had couches and chairs so not a problem.
At night could hear music while in our room, but they offer earplugs. Overall enjoyable stay.
- Eriel (8/5): - ótima localização, quarto e pousada limpa, bom quarto, ar condicionado gelado, ótimo atendimento. poderiam repor mais os produtos de higiene
- Kirsty (10/5): Would stay again 😁 - Lovely hotel right in the centre of town, very clean.
Rey explained everything when we checked in, and was always on hand to give advice on what out where to go.
Would definately stay again
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely stay thanks to Rey - The owner Rey is a delight, he is always there to help. They offer tours and transfers too. The breakfast is cheap and is seriously good. A really homely feeling. Would stay again.
- Vincent (10/5): - Met customers needs above and beyond
- Carolyn (10/5): - Perfect place for an overnight
- Alistair (8/5): 4 day El Nido stay - Nice hotel, but room a little small and no view (wall outside). However staff and service all excellent and location good/central
- James (10/5): - Very clean property in a great location for the main area.
Staff very knowledgeable and helpful, especially Rae on front desk.
Unfortunately Bulskamp suffers from being close to ‘backpackers’ type property with the associated noise levels, albeit not usually later than 2300.
I would recommend this property and would use it again.
- Christopher (10/5): - Sehr gutes Preisleistungsverhältnis, zentrale Lage, sehr sauber
- Abu (10/5): - Very pleased, centrally located and good service
- leonardo (10/5): Eccellente - Tutto perfetto, posizione eccellente e personale sempre attento e disponibile in particolare Rey.
- Kareem (10/5): - This is a great spot if staying in El Nido.
One thing to note is El Nido is a “party/tourist” town. Meaning it can get loud and crowded at the restaurants and bars. Bulskamp Inn is located in the center, away from the noise. I can’t imagine the sound levels at the inns along the outer perimeter.
The staff was amazing. The Owner/Manager was phenomenal at giving recommendations and organizing transport back to Puerto Princesa airport.
I didn’t eat breakfast at the Inn because the price is more than double the spots within walking distance. Owner didn’t pressure us and actually recommended a great spot down the block.
Would definitely stay again if visiting El Nido.
Travel Tip: Go to Nac-Pan beach. You won’t find a better one.
- Daniel (8/5): - Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful.
- VIncent (10/5): - Great place because it was downtown, close to everything. You can book any tour from the hotel and they will come pick you up. Comfortable bed, small shower room but great room for the price. Staff was very accommodating. I would definitely stay there again.
- Pamela (10/5): - This place is a gem...like being with family. Great location too...everything is walking distance. Thank you to Rey and the friendly staff. Highly recommended!!
- mikael (10/5): Immpressive - Place was cozy, owners were very welcoming and accommodating. The staff was very nice and they make you feel like family. Place was homey and they would offer ro clean the room every day. The establishment is well maintained we were impressed. Would highly reccommend the place.
- CHRISTIAN (10/5): Lovely stay - Had a lovely stay, staff very friendly and helpful. The place was quiet at night so sleeping wasn’t a problem. Location is good for food and entertainment, the staff organised all the tours and the van transfer to Port Barton. Would definitely recommend others to stay.
- Michelle (8/5): - Very good ambiance, friendly staff , very good location and clean . I will recommend for short or long stay vacations.
- Kevin (10/5): - Best service I had had all my life. They helped me book Iceland tour, getting a motorcycle. The place felt brand new and it wad clean beds so could sleep properly.
- Robert (10/5): - My wife and I loved everything about our stay at Bulskamp Inn and we highly recommend it.
- Clarisse (10/5): Best place ever!!! - This place was so homey and cozy!!! Great wifi that allowed us to be able to still work while on vacay. The owners Rose and her husband, along with their staff was super friendly and catered to all of our needs! The location was also great as it's walking distance to everything including the port.
Overall, I highly recommend this place and will surely stay here again when I return to El Nido!!!!
- Chris (8/5): - Nice room. Small
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very cute place. Centrally located, wifi was slow but consistent (and good relative to other places there) and the staff were extremely nice. Overall, very satisfied.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hotel is very old fashioned and outdated, bit this is to be expected with anything in el nido. The hotel however was pleasant with a nice courtyard with fish and relaxing area. The doors close at 11pm and you must leave your key everytime you leave. The hotel is conveniently located next to a store and bars/restaurants. Good location. Terrible wifi connection and the facility looses electricity at night.
- Austine (10/5): - Staffs were all super nice. Very convenient location. Great place to stay.
- isaac (2/5): Getaway - I am not a complainer, I am very easy and laid back. I am world traveler, I am traveling since I was 22 yrs old. I am gold member with hotel.com. I never felt like this how I was welcome at this hotel. Room is very very small, bathroom is extremely small. There was no TV in the room. I paid $85.00 a night and no TV. There was no complementary water. Bed sheets had stains. They gave us a key attached with the safe deposit key, we were asked to leave the key at the front desk, I told the owner you want us to leave the key with the safe box key, what about something goes missing not saying your staff will do anything like that, but talking extra precauation. My wife left all her jewelry in the safe and all my money in safe I was not comfortable. Finally he said I can keep my key. At the time of check in the receipniest didn't spoke much English she was having hard time understanding me so I asked my wife to talk to her since she speaks the language. We told her we are not happy with the room will she able able to upgrade she told us we had to talk with the boss he will be there next day. Next day we didn't hear anything from the boss we let it go. They really dont care of you are there or not. One one local guy would greet us in the morning with a happy smile. The pictures shown on the website is deceiving. Its nothing like what is shown on the website. I am putting some pictures to back up my review.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The Inn is an nice refuge in a downtown area that is somewhat seedy and crowed. The room was small but clean. We used this a a pit-stop transiting the area.
- Jayme (8/5): - Lovely room, very clean and the whole place smells good especially when we arrived...in Filipino we would say “Sulit!” meaning it was worth what we paid for :) or maybe even more.
The location is good.
The staff were friendly and accommodating especially Kuya Rey and the little lady at the front desk :)
I think the only cons are: the smell of water - which i think is a city problem more than the hotel/inn’s. Maybe just ask the staff if theyre cleaning the water tank before you shower because it smelled of chlorine one time and it hurt my nose so i had to wash with the filtered water.
Second, there’s a big hostel in front of the inn which just recently opened (before we arrived...unfortunately :p ) and their lobby/game area is open so it can get quite noisy in the evening. So it wasn’t totally relaxing to stay in the lounge area (although i still enjoyed laying on the hammock/“duyan”) :)
Just expect the trace sound of tricycles from your room too but it’s tolerable as it’s not constant and not too loud.
Still i think this place is one of the best especially in terms of value for money :) definitely sulit!
- andrew (10/5): Nice solo stay - Excellent place to stay, very central, great room and service
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The rooms are super small and don’t have a view, but the staff were great and the lobby has a really chilled and positive energy to it. The staff go out of their way to make you comfortable. The location is also great. We were happy with our stay
- Jorunn (8/5): Great location. - Very central right in El Nido town. Seconds from the beach. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Great outdoor relaxing area with free coffee/tea/juice/water during breakfast. Everywhere very clean.
Room our room very basic and small. No tv, fridge, but very good mattress/pillows.
- Marcelo (8/5): Top notch staff - Very friendly staff. Construction next door
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Stayed for two nights. Great value for the price. The hotel is located right next to the main street of El Nido. Everything is a few steps away. The only complaint that i have is that you will be sharing your room with many mosquitoes and you will be waking up scratching.
- Bernardo (10/5): - Its very cozy hotel the atmosphere is great and really close to the beach and bars. You can book Tours with them which is really nice and easy.
- Alex (10/5): - Very good location and facilities. Little bit disappointed by the area but the accommodation was great.
- James (8/5): Rough diamond! - Great service, great place to stay. Perfect location
- Verified traveler (10/5): Super. Ray was Awesome! - Great little place. Outstanding environment
Clean unique. Well run and organized. Great location and the staff was awesome. Informative and vas helpful if needed. Would highly recimmend this place.
- Matt (10/5): - Amazing hotel! From the minute you arrive, you are treated like family by everyone. Rooms were clean, bed comfy, good wi-fi, and awesome A/C! Couldn’t have been better.
- Kylie (8/5): Great stay! - My husband and I enjoyed our stay. Definitely not glamorous by any means but it felt cozy and safe. Breakfast wasn't great but the bed was comfortable and the room felt clean.
- Recela (8/5): Affordable comfort - The staff was so accomodating. We only stayed one night and had to check in a resort the next day. They offered to call the tricycle service of the resort and inspite of us being wet from an ocean tour, they were quick to offer a seat for us while waiting for the ride. The lounge area welcomes visitors with a zen feel about it with a koi pond, hammocks and rattan seatings.
The room feels clean and bed is comfortable. The bathroom is a typical PI set up. Very tiny and you practically showers splashing all over the toilet bowl. The room has a window but looks out to a wall that is just inches away ( we were in the first floor) so it felt like a cave. The only source of light is the artificial kind. But higher floors should have better natural lighting.
Lastly, I had a fruit bowl I couldn't finish eating and they gladly kept it in the fridge for me and I enjoyed it for breakfast the next day. The service in this place is excellent. The location is right in "downtown" next to a lot of eateries and bars but far enough from loud noises.
We will definitely stay here again but in a room at higher floor.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Great location but really cramped toilet! - At first, we were disappointed with the accommodations for the price we paid (especially compared to our hotel in Pto. Princesa) but it appears that this is the way it is in El Nido. Having accepted that, the location of this Inn is great (on a side street near the Main street). However, we did not like two aspects of our stay:
1) lack of leg space when sitting on the toilet--arguably less than an airplane toilet.
2) eventhough we had a 4-day reservation/stay with them, we were asked to change rooms after night 2, which is very inconvenient.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great stay! - Friendly staff, convenient location, excellent value, relaxing lobby area, and good breakfasts- I’d definitely stay there again.
- shishir (6/5): Good location but small room. - Pros: good location, friendly staff
Cons: small room and even smaller washroom. Hard to sit in toilet as very close to sink. Charged extra for a blanket
- jorge luis (10/5): Very nice hotel - If u are looking for a nice, clean, quiet place with very amiable staff look no further cause Bullskamp Inn is all of these. Location is great n price is very reasonable
- Joe (10/5): Stay here! Just steps from the beautiful bay - An amazing place to stay in such a wonderful part of the world, great rooms and lovely outdoor spaces to relax - and more important - the staff and people are so helpful and welcoming. Stay here!!
Located in the town centre, everything, including the bay and beach just steps away.
- g (8/5): Good staff, good location - Check in and out all good, reasonable charges for additional items, staff helpful
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great service and wifi Nice lounge area w/hammocks - Best wifi in el nido. Possible to stream videos usually. Rooms basic but clean. Great service, friendly staff and awesome house cat.
