Being that it’s historic be aware that stairs are like those of yore and the floors in the inn aren’t always level, which is understandable.

We were booked for a "Deluxe Room" but there is no way that the tiny room that barely held 2 twin beds, 2 small chairs with no TV, no closet, and the tiniest Bathroom shower stall was "Deluxe." Also, there is no "check-in" desk, I guess I was supposed to know the bar was the check-in desk.

- Brenda (10/5): After a week of visiting historical museums, the Shoreham Inn gave us an actual historical experience! - The Shoreham inn is a real gem! it is an authentic, charming, old building with just the right amount of upgrades to make it comfortable. Our room was large and beautifully furnished with antiques. the bed was comfortable, the linens, luxurious. Our host, Scott, was very accommodating and friendly and Kevin cooked a delicious breakfast. we would definitely stay there again. nothing

The location is not super-convenient, but depending on what you’re looking for, that could add to the charm of it.

- Elizabeth (10/5): It was a peaceful and relaxing visit and highlights what a true New England bed and breakfast has to offer. - The Shoreham Inn was an authentic, historic inn with simple amenities that allowed you to unplug and relax in ways we don’t often see in modern life. The proprietors kept an exceptionally clean establishment, offered a wonderful breakfast and provided knowledgeable information about the surrounding area. Each room is individually named and decorated, and a short history about the inn is provided in every room. Even the sign-in/guest registry book is historic. The property is an honest to goodness old fashioned bed and breakfast that welcomes guests and makes you feel at home. Nothing

- Maria (10/5): - The inn had a lot of character and antique accents. Our room was spacious, clean, antique and modern at the same time. The inn keepers were attentive and kept pointing me in the right direction when I went out into the world. I wish I had more time here.
- Alicia (9/5): Lots of charm and historical touches - The hosts were welcoming and attentive without being overbearing or intrusive, as some b+b hosts can be. This is an old house so expect a cozy well-furnished room, wooden floorboards that creak, very clean but not antiseptic, lots of charm and historical touches, and room doors with real lock and key! We felt at home right away, had a leisurely stroll around the large yard and beautiful pollinator garden, toy blocks were brought out for our toddler, and they recommended a visit to the local school playground 5-min walk away (a must for anyone with kids!). The pub downstairs serves basic fare but very well. For dinner, we had the fish and chips and burger w/ fries and both were quite good; compliments on the quality of the fries and coleslaw. Affordably decent selection of local and domestic beer, surprisingly broad wine options as well as the usual mixed drinks, cocktails, etc. Breakfast in the morning includes strong coffee, fresh juices, and made to order eggs, toast, sausage or berry + yogurt parfait, and close to the best buttermilk pancakes i've had in my life! It's really far from almost everything, but that may be part of the appeal! The only minor complaints we had were the bed slants noticeably due to the floor (the bed itself was medium firm and comfortable), and the hot water didn't last long in the morning once everyone was awake and getting ready.

- Judy (10/5): Wonderful time! - I was greeted at the front door by the owner with my room key and an offer to carry my bag upstairs. The Inn is so charming and has so much of its original features intact. My room was very large and decorated with a combination of antiques and country themed modern pieces. The bathroom had the original floor with new fixtures. There wasn't a TV, microwave or mini fridge in the room but that was disclosed prior to booking. There was a air conditioner and a ceiling fan. There is a rather steep staircase leading upstairs to the 2nd floor where the rooms are. Those with limited mobility might find it challenging, but I managed it without issue. Breakfast offers include many choices. I had pancakes and sausage. Those were the best pancakes I've had in years! The staff are very solicitous and couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. I hope to return and spend more time in Shoreham.

- Yujun (10/5): - The shoreham inn is more than 100 years old. It has its own old charming. It doesn’t have TV in the room. The inn owner provided us a space heater. We didn’t turn it on because the tool is warm enough for us. We stayed there in February, a week after heavy snow storm. All major roads are surprisingly cleaned. The room itself is on small size. The free breakfast is yummy.

- Caitlin (10/5): Wonderful gem! - I was in Vermont visiting friends for the winter Middlebury graduation. The Shoreham Inn is a little haven in a very rural area. It’s super comfy and has lots of unique and interesting things to look at. My room had a very comfortable bed. Everything was clean and the hosts, Scott and Kevin, could not have been more helpful and kind. The breakfasts are yummy, and the bar was a great place to hang out with our friends in the evening. I’m looking forward to taking my husband back there for a weekend getaway in the future.

- Dennis (10/5): - Kevin and Scott were warm friendly hosts. They were very accommodating and served up a delicious breakfast to our liking. The inn itself is a very old and interesting place to stay. The place has an EV charger right on the premises which we were allowed to use at no charge making for stress free travel. Loved the old bar where drinks were available for purchase in the evening. Great place to meet fellow travelers.

- Thomas (10/5): A very relaxing place to enjoy leaf-peeping and relax. - This B&B was a very relaxing stay for my wife and I to do a run in Middlebury, kayaking, and leaf peeping. We loved the bucolic atmosphere; we watched birds and other wildlife from the patio on the front of our room. The breakfast was excellent and everyday there was a special treat. We really enjoyed the bar in the evenings, talking with Scott and Kevin and enjoying Whiskey Pig, which is local to the area. The only thing that we had to get used to was the lack of cellphone coverage. The wifi mitigated it, but it took us a day to adapt. That's not a rap against Shoreham, but you just need to be aware.

Kevin and Scott were attentive innkeepers and made delicious breakfasts everyday- pancakes, dutch babys, maple cake, banana bread etc. I highly recommend staying at this inn for an exceptional experience of hospitality!

The property is set in a lovely road too, and very close to the ferry across Lake Champlain for New York state Nothing!
- Ingrid (8/5): Eclectic home providing good lodging. - Deep in the quiet countryside in Vermont is this grand wooden farm house, now an Inn. Lovely landscaping all around. Comfortable breakfast room and sitting rooms. Filled with antiques and polished wood everywhere. It takes you right back to yesteryears. Comfy beds and homey touches. Nice hosts. Reliable WiFi. The main house is not suitable for motion impaired people as there is a steep stair to be negotiated to get to your room. There is no elevator. We are told an outbuilding will have a separate suite suitable for handicapped person. Also, no tv: not necessarily a bad thing.
- Lynda (10/5): It was our first time at a Bed & Breakfast and will most likely be going back if all goes well next Sept. - Bed was comfortable, exceptionally clean, quiet at night, staff was exceptional, location was good. About 20 minutes from the tractor pulls. Can’t say enough good about them. Don’t have TV’s in room, which I’m fine with. But my companion likes to catch the news morning & night. We’re both up in our 70’s. We were a little Leary about the step when you entered the room. You entered then stepped down into room, then going to the bathroom you stepped back up and then another step into bathroom. A little scary for elderly during the night. But we managed. You get used to changes after the first night.

- Courtney (10/5): Lovely, interesting place for a restful getaway. - The inn was sparkling clean and inviting; the room spacious and comfortable. Artifacts depicting the inn’s history and a veritable library of classic literature made me want to spend an extra day or two just reading. The innkeepers were friendly, kind and accommodating. All around the perfect spot for a getaway; exactly the kind of experience one hopes for staying at a historic inn in a quaint town. Wish we’d had more time to spend, and hope to return!

- James (10/5): Excellent and peaceful location to stay. - They were very engaging when we arrived and throughout our stay. The hosts provided excellent recommendations for local attractions and restaurants to try. They are located very near the ferry to Ticonderoga, NY which has a famous historic fort to visit. The restaurants they suggested were all fantastic. It was enjoyable meeting them in their wonderful old tavern bar in the late afternoon, engaging in conversation, and watching them prepare classic and modern beverages. The hosts were attentive to special dietary needs for breakfast and were open to feedback so they could improve the quality of their offerings. Nothing specifically stands out for areas to improve as they are already actively working to elevate their offerings.

They opened the pub for us and made some appetizers which were great, hopefully they'll start offering dinner menu soon which will likely be good too.
- Lynn (10/5): Great Inn, Great Food, Great Bed and Breakfast - It was our first bed-and-breakfast experience and we are pleased with the positive experience we had at Shoreham Inn. The innkeepers obviously take pride in their place and you can see in the cleanliness and the little touches which make you feel like you are being take care of. Breakfast was so good; we can't stop talking about the strawberry scones and the french toast were the winners!!! Thank you, Keving and Scott, for the wonderful cooking and hospitality.

- Deb (10/5): An Inn worth staying in! :) - Our stay at the Shoreham Inn was awesome, we hated to leave (we did, however, extend our stay). We stayed in the Orchard Room (here referred to as the Junior Suite) is very comfortable and spacious. Breakfast is homemade with special attention given to food allergies. They go above and beyond! Innkeepers Kevin and Scott and their server Michelle are friendly, welcoming and ready to help in any way, whether for suggestions and directions to restaurants or to nearby sightseeing adventures: Fort Ticonderoga, Mt Defiance, and the Star Trek Original Series Set Tour are all just a 7 minute ferry ride across Lake Champlain (in fact, the road the Inn is on leads to the ferry dock and takes you to Ticonderoga, NY)! We highly recommend the Shoreham Inn to anyone visiting the Shoreham, VT or Ticonderoga, NY area! Caution: stairs to upper floors are steep, as to be expected in a 1700s building.

The only concern is that the main stairs are very steep and the hall floors are uneven, though both are just signs of the glorious age of the inn. We absolutely enjoyed our time there.
