- Claudia (10/5): Neat experience in Bed/Breakfast. - The hostess fixed us two delicious breakfasts, Thought maybe food would be Peruvian but it wasn't!
- Abbott (10/5): -
- Catherine (10/5): - Clean and well taken care of. Owner was friendly and cooked a nice breakfast. A quick walk to the downtown of Harper's Ferry.
- Sharon (6/5): - Friendly hosts, about a 20 min walk to downtown Harper’s Ferry, excellent location and some restaurants across the street too. This is a bit more like staying at someone’s house than a bed&breakfast— all the common spaces are shared with the hosts and are their living room etc.
- Albert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Erin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Saksham (9/5): My stay at Cantuta Inn was absolutely perfect—comfortable, welcoming, and impeccably serviced! - The breakfast was delightful, The location of the inn was perfect, easily accessible and central, making our explorations around the city very convenient. NA

- Charles (10/5): - Excellent and very friendly customer service. We were on bicycles and they took us to Walmart to resupply. Very kind.
- Alvin (10/5): We didn't know what to expect, but found it charming, and the hosts very amenable. - The cleanest room in any lodging establishment I've ever stayed in. It was like being in someone's home who is an artist, because she is an artist. Very convenient. Nothing that the owners could remedy. Harper's Ferry is a small historic town built on a mountain with very narrow streets. The street provides the only parking.
- Robert (9/5): Superb - Very quite and good location. Nothing
- Debra (9/5): Sweet Spot - Location was PERFECT!! Nothing to report
- Darryl (8/5): Very good -
- Courtney (7/5): Clean, secure accommodations with simple breakfast - Location! across the street is Kelley Farm Kitchen, a vegan cafe
Probably the best value accommodation in town It’s very clean and homey, but bed linens are low quality.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Very good - The host and hostess No refrigerator in the room. Had to buy a cooler to keep things cold
Breakfast wasn't special, no variety.
- Vincent (1/5): Bad -
- Patricia (10/5): A very quaint, quiet stay. The room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom had all necessities. - The host was very nice and made a great breakfast every morning. The area is quiet and the house is away from the tourist area of Harper's Ferry. The walk to where the historic area is a nice walk. I have no complaints.
- Mark (10/5): - Quick overnight while traveling westbound. Pleasant and informative host couple. Healthy breakfast and good coffee / tea! Clean, quiet accomodations.
- Bernadette (5/5): Lovely Inn, Disappointing Breakfast! - The purpose of my trip to Harpers Ferry was to see where the Shenandoah River enters the Potomac River. The location of Cantuta Inn was ideal as it was very near Lower Town of Harpers Ferry. The house was lovely with many decorations from Peru, Etel's native home. The bedroom was cozy. My bedroom had two windows, one covered with a room darkening shade. However, the window facing the bed had blinds which did not keep out the morning light and I would have slept better had it been darker. I was told breakfast would be served at 8:30 AM and since I am an early riser, I went for a walk toward the Lower Town. When I returned, my breakfast was being made- the eggs were cracked in the frying pan and stirred to cook them. I was given a plate with one piece of cold dark brown toast, the eggs and six small pieces of fresh fruit! From prior experiences at B and B's, I have learned to look forward to a large breakfast with choices of muffins or pastries, bacon or sausage, and plenty of fruit. The breakfast was a great disappointment!
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leonard (9/5): Superb -
- Marissa (6/5): Pleasant - Location was good. Overall the place seemed clean. Breakfast was bad; Small servings and not fresh. I didn't like that the room just had a flimsy doorknob lock, it seems like there could be something more secure.
- Lawrence (8/5): Very good -
- Burke (7/5): We were only there to sleep and left early to get to our next destination. -
- Deirdre (8/5): Very good - Very nice welcome when we arrived. Very clean and comfortable room. Lovely breakfast too!
- Donald (9/5): Superb -
- Canary11 (9/5): Overnight stop in Harper's Ferry -

- Michael (10/5): - Excellent host. very attentive. Rooms felt very private.
- Sharon (9/5): Superb -
- Henry (10/5): - Very clean and inviting. Private bathroom. Host was gracious and friendly. Breakfast was delicious. Will stay again when we return to the area.
Relatively short 10-15 minute walk to main historic section by the rivers.
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jay (8/5): Very good - Breakfast was lovely; we could be served on the porch overlooking the street. Our host was very helpful. Parking was available. The place was very quiet. No improvements needed.
- Eric (3/5): Poor value for money, poor service. Avoid at all costs. - They tried to add on a charge for the credit card fees they incur claiming that “all vendors do this”. Also no flexibility in terms of when breakfast is served. The pictures on booking are much nicer than the place is in reality. Would not stay hear again.
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Very nicely decorated, very clean and quiet. the host was very nice. We had a delicious breakfast. The location is very good for walking to many shops and restaurants.
- michael (10/5): - Great experience it was great very close to a lot of things that we did down there host was absolutely fantastic
- Steven (10/5): Great B and B. Strongly recommend! - Lovely room in a very pleasant house. Our hosts were helpful, flexible, and informative. Would stay there again. Nice breakfast. Liked it all!
- Philip (9/5): Superb -
- Ellasandra (10/5): - Our hosts were so lovely! Room was very charming and had very thoughtful touches to make our stay comfortable. Breakfast was lovely as well!
- Donna (10/5): A warm and welcoming stay. The owners were so friendly. - Wonderful breakfast.
- Philip (10/5): Exceptional -
- Srb2422 (10/5): Great location! - My host was great and I thoroughly enjoyed my staff!
- Jean (6/5): spartan B&B - Location: a LONG walk into town. Rooms are in host's home and it sometimes felt like we were "intruding" in their space. When other guests asked if they could have family come in and visit, they were told NO - and had to stay on the porch! When we asked for ice, we were told that it was too noisy to get it then and it might disturb other guests! We were told we could put 2 beverage bottles in the refrigerator - nothing more.
Breakfast: not great. Hostess was annoyed that we asked for more coffee
Room: comfortable. We did have to open a window to clear the room from the smell of the air freshener/cleaners used
- Denise (2/5): Worst ever - Dirty, small, ugly, trashed backyard, no tv service, so bad we didn’t complete our stay there.
- Sarah (10/5): - Lovely room with clean bathroom. Glasses and chocolates in the room for our evening.
- Marilena (10/5): Fabulous hospitality in a warm and inviting environment! - Very convenient location. Clean and comfortable!
- Michelle (8/5): Very good -
- Kate (8/5): - Very kind owner. Small room. A bit of a walk into downtown so wear good shoes.
- Arford (9/5): Superb -
- Natalia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Beth (9/5): A pleasant/peaceful environment, a comfy bed, and the classical music was a nice touch! - Eta is a kind host. The home was quiet/peaceful. I love the vintage feel of the town and sitting on the porch. I was happy to find a delicious vegan lunch (KFK) right across the street next to Snallygaster’s who had the best Kumbucha!
- Jeffrey (8/5): Cozy home above Harpers Ferry - Very pleasant stay in historic Harpers Ferry. The hostess was very gracious and friendly. Breakfast was on time and good. The room
Was a bit small and the TV had very limited channels but we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay!
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - clean. good location no choice of breakfast times. they didn’t say what the menu was for breakfast.
- Shelby (10/5): - Lovely area and lovely bnb! The hosts were sweet and the ara was nice.
- Patrick (8/5): Very Accommodating Host - Pleasant hostess, convenient to Harpers Ferry town center. We REALLY appreciated the phone call before we arrived telling us where to park. There had been an ice storm and the host moved his vehicle so we could use his clear spot. The only downside was watching NFL playoff games on our phone because we could not get them on the TV.
- Lisa (10/5): - The room was very clean and comfortable. The host was welcoming and informative about the surrounding area. A nice stay for a weekend. Close to historical attractions, but in a quiet area away from the crowd. I look forward to staying again in the future.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly B&B. Great breakfast. You can walk to the historic area (1/2 hr there) which makes it very convenient , but longer back due to the steep hills. I would stay here again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We loved our stay at the Cantuta Inn! The hosts were very nice and we enjoyed the morning breakfasts. Our room was very comfortable and the location was great! Walking distance to downtown, but also directly across the street from a cafe, a really cool general store, and a fun bar with live music that's open later than anywhere else in town!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Etel is a very sweet hostess. Our room was comfortable and the place was clean and had a fresh smell to it. We stayed Memorial weekend, it was cool and not much to do. We were looking forward to eating at the vegan restaurant across the street but it was closed the entire weekend. There was live music at the barn Sat but not Sun. A lot of places weren’t open or closed early. While there is a flat screen TVs with antenna mounted to the wall, there wasn’t any cable, so we couldn’t even just relax and in the room and watch anything for entertainment. There was a bowl of bar soaps from China in bathroom and I would suggest a local hand soap in a pump dispenser for the bathroom. There were many at the wonderful General store across the street. We didn’t stay the second night as there really wasn’t anything to do after our beautiful hike in Harper’s Ferry and lunch at a nice Thai restaurant in Charles Town. Live music ended around 4 when we arrived at Harper’s Ferry Brewing and just not much to do thereafter. One night is plenty at the Cantuta Inn and I recommend avoiding Memorial Weekend.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We had a spacious room.
pretty satisfied with the location. Nice owners.
Although we were OK with the B&B, I can understand some negative reviews about the amenities: we have stayed in many B&B's but this was below standard and the absolute minimum with regard to breakfast, toiletries, shower, bed, especially for the price.
The owners are very nice people but they should visit some other B&B's so that they get an appreciation of the critical reviews.
- Jean (8/5): - Very personable host in her home. If you like to watch TV, you only have a few channels off an antenna and the shower is small in case you are not average size.
You can walk to the historic area
- Karen (10/5): - Very convenient location, was able to walk to historic center though the walk back was all up hill, enjoyed it for the after dinner exercise. Our room was simple and clean, our host pleasant and helpful. Loved the area and the history. My husband also is a thru hiker of the AT so it was a special return trip after many years.
- patrick (10/5): - Exceelent
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly owner and husband....helpful and pleasant.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Ok, everything was wonderful except for two things. Scrambled eggs with ham delicious unless you are a vegetarian. Should have checked with guests night before so that my wife and another person could have informed her no meat. Her response was " you should have told me" ?, but we did not know this before hand?? - her responsibility. Also, made her guests wait for coffee until breakfast was ready. Many coffee drinkers want their coffee before breakfast, so having to wait should not be necessary. And when requesting a second cup we felt uncomfortable and were told "you drink coffee like water". This is a really easy problem to fix. Just have a pot of coffee ready around an hour before breakfast for early risers, etc.- and let them serve themselves. We really liked the host and her beautiful home and would stay here again. Sincerely, Donna and Peter
- Cynthia (8/5): Clean, Comfortable and Great Hospitality - Etel and Rock are very nice people. The place is very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Our room was a bit tight. No dresser to put clothes in and only 2 hangers in the closet. We managed and I didn't consider it important enough to say anything about the hangers. We had a wonderful stay and would stay there again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Had a great time, the room and the breakfast was great.
- Ethel (10/5): A Quiet Beauty. - Quiet room, beautiful house, good nearby restaurants, excellent breakfasts!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very quiet, not a long walk from downtown. No children are allowed so might not be a good choice for families with small kids.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean, comfortable, and easygoing atmosphere. Lots of helpful tips from our hostess about where to go and what do do. Fantastic location near the National Park and fantastic restaurants.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice walk from the historical downtown. Room was perfect for my wife and I.
- LR (8/5): - Great hosts and location (walkable to restaurants and shops). Will definitely stay again.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Great location and very nice rooms. Owner was just not a customer service-oriented hostess. Family members stayed in three of the four rooms and we were the only guests for one night. One couple in our group was hiking the AT and was actually told she didn't like hosting AT hikers. We all felt as if we were intruding on a private home and inconveniencing the owners. A member of our party was told one morning that we had kept owners awake though we had all retired by 11:00 pm the night before. We had been extremely conscious of our voices and had spoken in hushed tones in the kitchen as we gathered and celebrated a birthday. On the second morning, two of us were asked to leave the breakfast table as soon as we finished eating to make room for more guests who never arrived (both of our spouses were still eating!). No coffee was offered prior to the serving of breakfast and refills consisted of less than 1/2 cup. When owner was informed we were out of toilet paper, 1/2 roll was placed in the bathroom. I felt reprimanded after working on my laptop in the Florida room early the first morning as the owner informed me later her sole purpose for that room is serving breakfast. I had gone into the room when everyone in the house was still asleep and vacated the room before a single other guest had come out of their room - and before she had even acknowledged I was there. Great house with great potential - just not the experience we expect from a B&B.
- ian (10/5): Excellent Bed and Breakfast in Harper's Ferry - Stayed just one night - but I could see staying at least two nights in order to see Harper's Ferry properly without racing around. The Bed and Breakfast is located on Washington Street, which is the main road into town, and is located at the top of the hill before you descend into the town. I walked into town, and it was a real slog to walk up and down the hill. However, I was able to stop and enjoy the beautiful and varied architecture, which I would have missed if I was in a car. I can imagine the town being quite crowded on weekends, and parking would be a problem in town, so a suggestion is to drive to the Visitor's Center, park there and catch the shuttle bus. I really enjoyed my stay, the Bed and Breakfast only has four rooms, so it is both a very quiet and relaxing place to stay. I loved the fact that there was no TV in the room. You are there to get out and enjoy the beautiful town, and there is a nice veranda to sit outside in the evening instead of watching TV. Breakfast was very good, with fresh ingredients. I really enjoyed the owner, Etel, who is a fascinating and very friendly woman. All in all, an excellent stay in a wonderful town.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Loved it. - Staying here was super great. Great location, breakfast served, and the hosts were extremely friendly and acommodating. They had good wifi and posted the password in your room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Once we left our room we could not lock it. A bit weird. Breakfast was very good. Owners were friendly. Overall it was nice.
- Mario (10/5): Harper's Ferry launch point. - Stay was awesome! Etel and Rock were great hosts. The breakfast was fantastic! The rooms are quaint and the ensuite is furnished. It's close to the Appalachian trail and we hiked up to Split Rock overlook. Coming back to the Cantuta for a hot shower after was great. We'd stay here again! Solid Wi-Fi and a few cozy eateries close by and down town wouldn't be a bad walk in warmer weather.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Veldig pratsom vertinne, og putene luktet, bortsett fra det helt Ok. Nydelig by.
- Lorraine (8/5): Good location - Handy for Visitors Centre and The Anvil is close for dinner. The owner is Peruvian and sometimes a little to understand, but very friendly. Breakfast is unusual, but tasty - scrambled egg, toast, 3 lots of fresh fruit.
- Dave (10/5): - Very nice location in Bolivar just above Harpers Ferry. Very clean and owners made you feel welcome. My only suggestion would be to offer juices in the morning at breakfast.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Wonderful area. - Activities with nature
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good choice. - Friendly owners
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is a small b&b with 4 rooms in a quite town, conveniently located near river activities. The place is very clean, the owner is friendly and accomodating.
- david (8/5): Nice friendly B&B - Nice location when visiting Harper's Ferry historical sites. Restaurant a short walk away. Pleasant inn keepers.
- Kris (10/5): Cats Lovers - Very nice, and I loved the cats!
