Also, maintenance of safety features seemed good - locks on windows and doors were held fast, though somewhat dated. Driveway was full of deep potholes. Bed was hard and lumpy - very bad.

Crack in the floor that moved when you stepped on it. And the shower drain had a bolt holding it in that stuck up

- Michele (7/5): I would give them a second chance solely based off the price and the restaurant. - How close it was to the restaurant and the price The door didn’t close unless you deadbolt it It didn’t match the room description The stopper in the sink didn’t work, so the sink filled with soapy water (until I could get it to stay up) It was very icy in the morning near the office. So even though I was careful I still slipped. They need to put down some sand.
- Destynnie (1/5): A surprise for what was supposed to be a romantic winter getaway: -12 cold with no heat or plumbing - The only upside to this location is that the staff were incredibly nice and they were personally responsible for giving us some access to hot water/plumbing/heat. They worked really hard to make sure things were OK for us. On our second day we finally asked for a space heater because we hadn't come prepared for dealing with cold weather while INDOORS. They were incredibly responsive and got one to us that finally had the air temp inside rising to a comfortable level after we had it on for several hours. And, the person who brought it to us had been in the crawlspace manually heating the pipes so that we could have plumbing. At least the wifi worked without issue. The facilities were uncomfortable. The beds had a block of hard memory foam on it that slowly sinks you in so you get neither the benefit of soft or hard mattresses. It was -12 outside during our stay and the pipes froze, which means we have no access to plumbing or heating. The place's cleanliness was OK; small things were off, such as a light that needs to be changed, a thermostat with low-battery warning (very concerning given our situation but we poached the batteries from the remote to fix it), no tissues in the bathroom, etc. The doors itself we had to block with some elaborate cascade of blankets held to the door with the chair and ironing board and hangers, because there was such a draft you could see a quarter-inch of gap between the wood frame and door. Plus, there's a weird mechanism where EVEN IF the door is unlocked, you will close it (probably behind you while the keys are in the cabin still, because it'you just left it unlocked) and it will lock you out from the outside. Also, "mountain view" room means you have some ground outside your window. You don't get any real scenery of the mountain itself. Feels like false advertising. I appreciate the staff on a personal level. I refuse to stay here again unless the owner wants to put some real money into the facilities themselves to renovate and improve them for cold weather. I am actively going to suggest people stay away from here if they ask me for recommendations for this region. Absolute waste of money, I could have gone camping in this weather instead and been more prepared and comfortable.

- Eileen (1/5): Terrible. It felt unsafe. - No staff was on site when we arrived at 5 pm to check in. We called a phone # on the office door and had trouble reaching anyone. When we finally spoke to someone he said staff were at the restaurant. When I got my room key,, it did not work - lock was broken. Still no staff to help. I finally walked on a poorly lit path to the restaurant and told them I could not get into my room. When they helped me get into my room (I figured out a way to make it stay unlocked), it was dark and the light switch next to the door was not connected to the lamp. Lighting and signage for the property were insufficient. It is dangerous to arrive there after dark (which is 4:30 in the winter months).

- Macy (6/5): Stay for the convenience, not for a the room. - Adequate room for the price. Room was spacious, clean enough. Parking was plentiful and we could park right in front of our room. We arrived after regular check in time, but our key was on the office door. Beds were not comfortable, and very squeaky. The office was still closed when we left in the morning around 8:30 am, so we just left the key in our room.

- Monica (1/5): Would not advise anyone to stay there. - There was no breakfast. There was a coffee pot in room without filter, coffee or even cups! The room has thin walls, and is bare of any amenities - no cups, no Kleenex, no radio, no phone (and there’s no cell service there). I complained to the owner, left after one day (I paid for 2 days) and asked for a refund for the 2nd day. The owner promised to have the manager contact me but that has not happened.

- jonathan (9/5): Affordable and quality place. Low star rating probably because it’s not staffed full time (ok!) - It was very affordable and not fancy. But it was clean and warm, safe and convenient. I thought bite as a good value for what i paid. Calk around the sink was not expertly applied. Other than that the bathroom was in great shape, clean and well serviced. The room is old decor but it’s kind of changed and honest. Heating and everything else worked fine. Wifi was good. As was Tv. It’s right off the main road but very quiet at night. I would recommend it!

It is more like a motel that’s what we stayed in on the other hand. It seems to be another facility on the lot that you might call some kind of hotel but we never got into that.

The room was warm and cozy, and although we were only there one night, we were comfortable. Things were clean, and they had bottles of shampoo and face soap and a hair dryer. And dining across the street and behind the Pond Rooms, so we didn't have to travel anywhere Our room did have a scent of cigaret smoke, but that could have been remanent from a while ago - it wasn't overpowering, but I did smell it. Overall there was nothing we didn't like.

- Richard (2/5): I don’t recommend this place - Nice person handing out the keys when I arrived Very highlyoverpriced room. Musty smelling. Not well cleaned under bed or a dresser.. Old furniture and furnishings. Peeling paint on all the outside windows. It is a place in very much disrepair and needs an upgrade or to be totally torn down.

- AnnMarie (6/5): Safety concern - Generously sized room, clean. Comfortable bed. It felt very unsafe as a solo traveler. There was never anyone in the office, no phones in the rooms and there was no cell service for me. In order to contact staff, I had to leave the motel and drive into Wiliamstown. The light in the bathroom went out, and after driving into town, a staff member brought a new light for the bathroom. The handle fell off on the shower. The drain was so slow in the shower I couldn't tell if the valve was open or closed. There was no way for me to turn on the outside light, and it was quite dark several times coming into the room. The light at the end of the driveway is out, which made it hard to figure out where the driveway was.

It all seemed "quaint" but then there was no housekeeping, the office wasn't open in the mornings to get more coffee, and then the last straw was that the water shut off around 2am the last night we were there and no place to use the facilities and no one answered my calls until I texted the number which said to leave a message and call 911. I did manage to stop my boyfriend from calling the Board of Health. I asked to be reimbursed for the last night and was ignored.

It was a dumpy version of Grandma’s house, and there was no breakfast available, lucky if you had hot water for the shower. Food was ok (but expensive) at the pub in the barn, but service was very slow and not friendly. We thought Old Williamstown would have had a more upscale experience, but we will not come back again.

This is not a greige corporate chain place! Staff were all really nice, shower was hot with good water pressure. The restaurant had good food and friendly service. A pleasant stop in Williamstown!

On a positive note, the young Man managing the front office was efficient and very friendly!

The mold was so bad I could barely breathe. The smell was rancid and just disgusting. There was orange mold in the shower and filth everywhere. Things are broken. The whole pool area is rusted filthy junk pile affected swamp for mosquitoes. The view is horrible. There is literally nothing here that looked like the pictures. It’s a gross old motel.

- Andrew (3/5): allergic inducing mold trap. - the location was fine. you could smell the mold the minute you approached the door. there was visible mold and water damage throughout. i am extremely allergic to mold so the stay was very uncomfortable and i am not well. there was no where else to stay and i am hoping for some kind of recompense for this issue.

AC worked well and extremely noisy. Turned it off to sleep. Bedside lamp had no switch, had to bring it to office to get replaced. Toilet occasionally kept running. No hot water tea/coffee amenities. Pondside units in front of depressing, dilapidated pond (or pool?).

The 2nd room smelled musty, had a bees come in by the AC unit, a worm in the shower. The toilet ran all night and kept us up. I hope to get a refund!

I also appreciated the individual access (didn't need to walk up and down hallways). They were quick to return phone calls and for the value this place was perfect. - Tina (4/5): - This motel was a classic old time roadside New England accommodation in the Berkshires. It is actually in three different locations spread out over a quarter of a mile on both sides of the road and I suspect one's experience will vary dramatically based on which location and room you actually end up in. Overall the place seems to have overwhelmed the owners in terms of maintenance services. It definitely does not match the confusing and somewhat misleading descriptions on their website or the booking sites. It is very basic with few amenities and unevenly maintained. The TV in our room had obviously not been hooked up to work in a long time. The owners/ staff are impossible to contact and subsequent looking at the reviews of this property show that that is an ongoing problem. I drove down to the other location where the office was located and although the owners were in their apartment, they would not come to the door (apparently everything is done by notes and there is a weathered permanent piece of paper on the door saying they will "be back shortly"). The place has some potential in a beautiful location and was inexpensive but I wonder how long Covid will be an excuse for lack of maintenance, etc.?

- Mary Lou Conca (4/5): - We came fully expecting to swim! The website showed us a clean swimming pool. The pool was overgrown with weeds and a small tree! It was full of frogs who croaked loudly all night long, keeping me awake. The pool was also full of rusty little tables and overturned chairs, etc., a real mess. There was practically a hole in the bathroom floor, which I sank into. It was scary. I hope for a partial refund, given the advertisement for a pool and the fact that the pool was uninhabitable.

A person associated with the restaurant which was closed on Monday, helped us. He called in to the staff and checked us into a room. Everything went so smoothly and it could have been last minute looking for a different motel.

- Willard (7/5): Pretty, convenient place to stay - Pretty location, a short drive to Williamstown. The bed was comfortable with 3 good chairs and the WiFi was good. The hot water took a while to come and the shower-tub was at a strange angle, but had a couple good grab bars.
