Guest Reviews
- jan (4/5): Candles, potpourri, and CATS - I have allergies & asthma. I knew after 15 minutes on site that I couldn’t sleep there. There were candles burning in the foyer, multiple bowls of potpourri, and multiple cats coming and going from outdoors—upstairs and downstairs. I’m very allergic to cats. Had I known these things prior to booking, I never ever would have booked—much less for 2 nights. They did extinguish the candles, but my throat was already thickening. My daughter returned inside and retrieved our luggage. We didn’t ask for our money back as it was a busy weekend in town with the Polar Express train ride kickoff and I felt bad for them to lose the business. BUT the booking information should include a note about candles, potpourri and CATS.
- Sally (10/5): Blissful stay - I had a very relaxing overnight at the Fig Tree Manor. I was immediately welcomed to the house and shown to my gorgeous and comfortable room. There are multiple covered porches and a patio area by the pool. The house is beautifully decorated and stuffed with antiques - it was like walking into a museum. The living room is open for use by all guests and has comfy couches and chairs, shelves of books to read, and coffee, tea and water is available at all times. Morning breakfast was delicious and kept me full until dinner. There is a huge selection of movies available to steam in addition to all the regular options. There are several restaurants and shops within walking distance. I arrived a stranger and left feeling like family.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A groovy B&B. Relaxed and comfortable with genuine hosts. A slightly quirky little escape unlike any other in this neck of the woods. I'd visit again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Christy, Tom, Molly were very nice people. I truly enjoyed my visit. Their breakfast was wonderful.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The owners of this B & B were very gracious. This property is beautiful. Unfortunately my friend was highly allergic to cats. They rescue cats and had several living in the home. They have promised a refund and were helpful in finding us other accommodations. Will try to go again without my friend. Lol
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The interior was very interesting and unique. The rooms wwere spaciousus and neat and clean. We had our own sitting room with TV. The tub in the bath was an old claw foor tub but I am getting to old to try to handle getting in and out of that kind of tub safely. That was OK for this weekend because the weather was nice and going one night without a bath was OK.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Charming late 1800s home with wonderful, welcoming staff.
- Deborah (10/5): So Lovely!! - My husband and I loved our stay at Fig Tree Manor. The hosts went out of their way to make sure we had whatever we needed. Our room was wonderful. AND-the breakfast was delicious. We will stay here again next time we are in Palestine.
- Michael (10/5): Very Nice - Our first B&B experience. Comfortable room within walking distance of the little entertainment district. Tom and Christy were very welcoming and accommodating. Breakfast was excellent. Would stay there again if we're in town.
- Tim J. (10/5): Quaint B&B - The Fig Tree Manor is a wonderful Bed & Breakfast property! My wife and I celebrated our fifth anniversary over a long weekend and were treated to exceptional hospitality by Tom, Christy and Molly. We highly recommend this property for a special occasion!
- Denis (10/5): - Outstanding experience in this wonderful manor - Warm welcome by lovely people - Highly recommended.
- John (10/5): Amazing bed and breakfast - Took my wife there for her birthday and we had a great time, the hosts were very accommodating as they went out of their way to make sure the right wine and balloons and flowers were in the room upon arrival. The food was fantastic I had one of the best eggs Benedict I have ever had so good I had four more. The only negative I have was the bed was not very comfortable but I am of the mindset that if you are tired enough you can sleep anyway, all the perks were amazing. It was an absolutely beautiful and historic home with plenty of charm and great views. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to visit Palestine and/or ride the Texas state railroad.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - 2nd time to visit our favorite B and B! We enjoyed our stay, and appreciate their accommodations!
- Sharon (10/5): Southern hospitality! - So very relaxing!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Overall, I really liked the owners. The family is extremely nice. It got a bit warm, but I do admit that I was exhausted and didn’t notice where to adjust the temperature of the room. There are a LOT of cats... and the scent of these cats was noticeable specifically in the dining area. The paintings of one of the sisters did not work well with the house at all.
- Vicki (10/5): So lucky to find this treasure. - We thoroughly enjoyed our visit at the Fig Tree Manor. We also loved the location to Old Town Palestine. This B&B was very clean, the service was impeccable and the included breakfast was delicious. I happened upon this by accident because the other hotels in town were booked the dates that I was needing and was so happy I tried it out. I highly recommend staying here instead of a hotel, you can't beat the personal service it provides. They also have a pool and hot tub. WE stayed in the Sage room or Chicken Room because of the decor. It was just lovely.
- Sally (10/5): - It is a beautiful property and well-maintained. Molly, Christy and Tom were very accomodating! Highly recommend this B&B!
- Christopher (10/5): Amazing - Absoulety beautiful here was a perfect stay rooms were great great location owners were.so friendly and great aill deff go again
- Melissa (10/5): Very hospitable hosts! - This was our first experience at a B&B and we were pleasantly surprised by our experience. The house was charming, the owners were friendly and the room was quaint. I mentioned that it was my husband’s birthday and the owners made him a cake and sang Happy Birthday to him after a delicious breakfast! We will be back again!!
- John (10/5): Great B&B - Awesome people running the Fig Tree. This is the place to stay in Palestine - get the Rosemary Suite for sure. Has a 5 star restaurant within walking distance. Would definitely stay there again...!!!
