- Erica (6/5): Very strong smell throughout - The cleanliness of the room and the central location were amazing. Throughout the hotel there is a "signature scent" being pumped through a machine in the lobby and I could smell it in the hall on our floor and even in our room. When I asked the woman at the front desk about it, I was told I needed to request a hypoallergenic room. I think if the hotel is pumping out fragrance, it should be noted somewhere, especially since there are many guests, including myself, who are veey sensitive to strong scents. A hypoallergenic room wouldn't solve the issue of having the strong smell in the main areas.

We loved our stay it was like a boutique NY hotel. Very clean and remarkably quiet considering our room faced Broadview Ave. Highly recommend this hotel.

- clairemV9240BP (2/5): Unless you like roaches.... - I am currently, unfortunately, at The Broadview. I was in room 410 for 2 nights, preparing for my 3rd. I grabbed the robe off the bathroom wall and a roach fell out. The cockroach then ran up the wall and into the ceiling. I was moved to a room 1 floor up. If I had literally anywhere else I could go tonight, I would. They offered to comp a bottle of champaign and let me stay an extra hour in the morning. This place has restaurants too.... I can't wait to be at home, and hopefully not bring any Broadview roaches with me 😭 Edit to add: they didn't comp the champagne, but they paid for a dinner I had purchased (prior to knowing about the roaches), and for 2 nights of parking as compensation..... They offered to have a manager call me later, but what's the point if they already decided that makes up for it. Doesn't seem like compensation for roaches, mold in the bathroom and by the wet bar, and unclean surfaces and windows. I could've stayed at a motel 6 and had the same experience, but instead, paid nearly $1700 for equally as bad conditions

- Belinda (10/5): Genuine care and attentive staff. - The staff is incredibly kind and attentive. The hotel is beautiful, but without the staff, it would just be a pile of pretty bricks. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the room was spacious. The shower is quite small for this type of room, and the threshold does not effectively prevent water from spilling into the rest of the washroom. The desk is great for working, but the chair is too low and uncomfortable given the height of the desk, which makes it difficult to work comfortably.
- 113nestoref (10/5): A unique east end hospitality experience! - My wife and I recently celebrated our anniversary with a staycation at the Broadview Hotel and it was amazing! The staff went above and beyond to ensure it was an unforgettable experience. The amenities really set this hotel apart from your typical chain hotel - the record player, the earplugs, the sleep mask, the gourmet snacks, etc. Our perfect Sunday brunch capped off a weekend we’re never going to forget. Highly recommended.

Servers were very nice including Kierra at the rooftop bar. Small details could be improved. They claim a record player in each room however I had to have mine replaced as it wasn’t playing the right speed for LP’s. Then the LP library is kinda lame. Not much selection of any well know albums or artists. Also 75% of the albums had the wrong record in the sleeve.

- Jennifer (8/5): Lovely boutique hotel. - Beautiful decor; comfortable bed. No coffee maker (they did offer a small French press for first night but took it away the 2nd night and didn’t replace it even after asking.) It was very loud the first - ask for a lower floor as we weren’t aware there would be an event right above our room. Luckily they left 1 pair of earplugs.

Hotel ist urbanshic mit sehr schönen Zimmern und einer wunderschönen Dachterasse. die Zimmer sind sehr hellhörig, das Personal nicht sehr hilfreich bei Fragen an der Rezeption

- lucchese494 (10/5): Convenient and very nice--a positive experience - This is a charming, renovated, older hotel, extremely well located and seemingly well managed. The staff are charming, the rooms are attractive and well laid out, the rooftop restaurant is unusual and very nice. We highly recommend, and the only complaint is complicated bathroom plumbing appliances that require a a Ph.d to figure out.

We loved the Rooftop restaurant and enjoyed the view, food and service. The room was clean and had a nice updated bathroom. The bed was so comfortable. Convenient location with lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. There is a Green P parking lot right across the street. It was about $30 for overnight parking. I would stay here again.

- Kristy (7/5): It’s a nice hotel but not special enough that I would pay that price again. - Restaurant is great. Nice windows and blackout curtains. Small room for price, no added perks like coffee in room or other things that usually make a place feel worthy this sort of price. It was fine. Nobody near doors to help you in with lots of luggage.
- Paul (6/5): So disappointing - Our stay was disappointing on so many levels. The room was dreary and dark. The windows were small and filthy. There was mold in the shower. A kettle and instant coffee is NOT coffee in the room. (Their offer of a french press disappointed too.) The walls are so thin that we were woken up by the phone ringing in the next room. We also got to hear their conversation! The neighbourhood is still in transition. A walk down Queen Street on Saturday morning involved side stepping the sleeping homeless. The neighbourhood smelled of Marijuana, garbage and urine! We can't recommend the hotel.

- Tara (8/5): - A funky hotel with a record player in every room. The rooms also included a noise machine, which is great if you're used to sleeping with a fan on. There was a wedding happening on my first night, and because I was on the 6th floor (right below the 7th where the wedding was happening) there was quite a bit of noise. The front desk was extremely accommodating and because there was another room available, they moved me down to the second floor, which I appreciated. The location is great with easy access to the bus and within walking distance to a variety of restaurants.

- E7453BZmarcm (10/5): Highly Recommended - I stayed at this hotel to see a show at History. It is very close - less than 10 minutes by car. The hotel is very nice - a lot of cool detail and character everywhere. The room was stylish and comfortable and even included a record player. The staff were also great, very friendly and welcoming. I would recommend.

- Jean (10/5): Outstanding staff! - The rooms were extremely clean, the air conditioning worked remarkably and the staff was outstanding. Extremely friendly and sharing information about the hotel. We ordered room service a couple times and it was very good. The only negative I would say is parking and the ability to load and unload your bags. Parking is close but you cannot pull up to the hotel to load and unload. Another thing would be more than one share in the room. We had a nice size room but I do understand most of them are rather small. We could have had a second chair in the corner which just adds more comfort when two people are in the room. I would recommend this hotel many times over. I still can't get past how great the service was!

- Shelley (6/5): - This is a nice older hotel in a nice neighborhood where you can easily catch the bus or trolley and get anywhere downtown. The small bottle of wine in the room was nice. But the down side is that there is not a balcony in this room, or a terrace as they call it. It was a small bench which was outside but very small and faced a wall. It rained a bit the last day and you couldn't sit out there. And probably the worst thing was the lightining was awful, it was so dark in the room. Also television options were limited. The front desk staff were mostly sweet but not well trained in providing any suggestions for restaurants, etc.

Room was quiet but could have been a bit cleaner: dust and crumbs in corners and under the bed. We had a view of the dog park next door, which was entertaining. Rooftop bar has a great view of the city. Would stay again.

Locations was not in the right place for us. it’s a hour walk from the harbour, transport is available but takes a few hours to get you head around how to navigate the city . - Marianne (8/5): - This is a great old hotel with character, vintage touches like record players in each room and a record library on the fourth floor. The room decoration is tasteful and well maintained. The rooftop bar/restaurant has truly stunning views of the city skyline (especially at night). My only issue is its location - it is not very convenient to shopping and dining and the neighborhood seems to be a bit seedy, though not unsafe - ie. we arrived late on a Saturday night in August and there were two prostitutes soliciting out in front of the hotel. It’s a great hotel but not in a family friendly location.

- Niall (10/5): Modern hotel in a nice neighbourhood - Location is about 15 mins taxi or 30 mins public transport to the centre but it’s in a nice neighbourhood which is outside the craziness of Downtown. Hotel room is modern and a nice enclosed balcony.
- Virginia (8/5): - For the price, the room was small and lacking overall. But particularly, stupid little tables next to the bed and no space in the bath room to set out toiletries. Put up some shelves. Small desk and single small chair were insufficient. Again for the price. If we had paid half, we would have expected these conditions.
- Marc (6/5): Not worth the money. - The proximity to public transportation and the food in the restaurant. Very late maid service and insufficient cabinetry to unpack our suitcases into. The refrigerator was so packed with the hotel’s saleable items that we had very little room to place our own items that needed refrigeration. No handheld shower, making sufficient showering virtually impossible.

- AMO308 (8/5): A good hotel with real naughty charm - I visit Greater Toronto regularly to see family, and always enjoy a few nights downtown to catch up with my cousin. Said cousin and his girlfriend had booked the roof of this hotel for supper (very nice, great waiting staff up there, tho' with a slightly overly sardonic wine waiter). So, I booked in for the night. Check in was friendly and helpful. I was very early, so they took in my luggage, ensuring I was bag-free to meet another cousin downtown to explore the AGO. The room, a large King rooms very nicely decorated with a great bed that ensured a good night's sleep. The bathroom was curiously small, with no bath (shame) but a good sized shower. Interestingly the bathroom had a very cheap looking plastic tile sort of roof which stuck out against the tastefully fitted bathroom and neighbouring bedroom. Please supply a bottle of sparkling and stilling the room. You are left an empty bottle to to up or down a floor to water points where you can refill with either. But, on first arrival, please just have a bottle of each in the room. Breakfast was not included. Why is this becoming ever more common when spending a lot (!) of money on hotel rooms which don't even have a bath? So you pay the best part of £300 for a room for 18 hours, with no bath or breakfast. I paid for breakfast in the downstairs cafe and it was very good, likewise the coffee. This hotel is rather out of the centre, so please bear this in mind. It took me 30mins to walk to the Distillery district, but I was happy for the walk.The hotel used to be a strip club with "by the hour" rooms. It has been beautifully gentrified with little touches of its former incarnation in the wallpaper and other subtle touches. I liked it. It was a perfectly good stay, a few gripes, but none that spoiled my visit to the hotel.

- Richard (10/5): - I realize that hotels are expensive. However, we chose this hotel because it was away from the beaten path and was slightly older. We still wound up paying 400 American dollars per night. That seems a bit excessive.
- Timothy (10/5): I'd stay there again - This is a cool hotel located in an area close to Leslieville and the Distillery District - so it's easy to get to restaurants. Rooms are well appointed and comfortable. Staff was awesome! And the rooftop bar has terrific cocktails and equally wonderful service (kudos to Clay!).
