No ay restaurant
- Georgette (7/5): Paola is an outstanding host, and the hotel’s location is excellent. - The host is very friendly and accommodating. The location 2 blocks from the plaza is excellent. TV wasn’t working.

- Noah (10/5): If you appreciate a more authentic travel experience you'll be comfy and almost feel like a local! - The location was great, right in the heart of Ajijic. The staff made me feel very welcome, almost like part of the family and went out of their way to be helpful. I felt safe and well taken care of. I had a TV and dependable Wi-Fi access. The outdoor area is very pretty with lots of places to sit and relax. It is also a restaurant on some evening that serves some delicious Spanish delicacies. It's an older building with a more rustic feel. Not everything is shiny and new. You'll be a little more exposed to the elements. I don't find it negative but that is subjective, so set your expectations accordingly. If you appreciate the old world charm of Ajijic then this place should do the trick!
- Josephine (10/5): A comfy stay in Ajijic. - Charming property, near the central plaza and malecon. N/A
- Lana (10/5): Ajijic Weekend - Paula was very welcoming and prepared us a lovely meal upon arrival. The location was perfect, the setting peaceful and it felt very secure. The water pressure was a bit sad, but that's to be expected. Not a huge issue.
- Rhys (9/5): Basic clean room. comfortable bed, wonderful owner in an unbeatable location. -
- Jon (4/5): Disappointing -
- Jorge (8/5): Very nice staying and service from the owners - Very nice location near the most important places in Ajijic The bathroom can be improved, and the shower
- Rodolfo (3/5): Poor -
- Vivi (7/5): Well located, convenient good staff. - It was well located. Was not a complicated check in The toilet had issues but I think it was temporary.
- Diana (10/5): I felt at home in this special, welcoming hotel. It is close to the cathedral and town square. - The adjoining restaurant offers Spanish cuisine such as paella and Spanish tortilla. I tried the tortilla, which was delicious.
- Richard (8/5): Nice to be on the lakeside of Ajijic but the traffic adjacent to the room and attendant noise and loud cobblestone stree - Cute room co-located with 3 other rooms and a weekend only restaurant. Friendly staff providing me with water and a coffee maker was appreciated. Very comfy king size bed and pillows. On a busy noisy street used as a bypass as its is one block away, to the main road connecting the cities of Chapala and Ajijic. The fact that buses, cars and motorcycles use this street constantly prevented the opening of windows. Also the local church is 3 blocks due south and its bells ring every 15 minutes cannot be ignored. If you are at all sensitive to noise find another property.
- Stanley (8/5): Good location in the middle if Ahijic, which has a large ex-pat community. We had many things to do. - Peaceful Missing a couple of essentials. No frig, microwave or teapot. We did manage to borrow one.
- Debra (8/5): We’ll return for sure to this lovely inn. - In historic Ajijic two blocks to the central square, Meson Don Quijote oozes culture and warmth. Around 12 restaurants within 2 blocks radius, afforded opportunities to immerse in the local cuisine. Paula, the proprietor is welcoming and attentive to our needs.
- Elaine (9/5): Great location, wonderful staff. - This is a small property, more like a b&b than a hotel (only 4 rooms) but it has a lovely atrium restaurant and the food is exceptionally good! It is not fancy but very comfortable and friendly. It's like staying with friends. There is a church nearby with church bells. 'Nuff said.
- Mitchell (9/5): Great stay in nice hotel in the center of everything. - Great little 2 star hotel. VERY friendly and helpful staff. Location was perfect. Right in the center of town. Like EVERY hotel in Ajijic: no heat!
- Joseph (10/5): Exceptional - Great people, location and beautiful property. Great place
- Faye (7/5): Do you like fireworks? - Very friendly host
Authentic Mexican home I arrived just as the annual Festival de San Andrés began. Unfortunately, this meant the café at the hotel was closed. The Festival activities included fireworks 24 hours per day. Merchant booths blocked the streets and were actually fastened to the grill of my bedroom window.
Avoid Festival time for your visit!
- Carlos (10/5): Exceptional -

- Anonymous (10/5): The staff and vibe at Mesón Don Quijote were impeccable. I we extended our stay because we liked it so much. - It’s a beautiful building with a comfortable, lovely restaurant in the inner court yard. The staff were some of the nicest people I’ve met on my travels. They went above and beyond to make our stay special.
- Roderrette (10/5): Simply wonderful. - This is the most comfortable bed and breakfast we have ever stayed at. Words cannot describe how wonderful the staff were to us. I wish I could have taken the bed home with me. -NA-
- Justine (6/5): Pleasant -
- Chris (9/5): Superb - The owner is what a traveler wants. Excellent location. I would stay there again.
- Scott (10/5): Exceptional -
- Humphreys (7/5): Great location, perfect for solo travelers - Excellent location right in town. The owner is delightful and very accommodating. It's a great value The room is right on the street, and the antique heavy wood shutters keep out much of the noise but only if they're closed and I prefer some air at night. Since it's in town, there is going to be some noise. It's an old building and the plumbing needs to be updated. The restaurant is not particularly good
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bernardo (9/5): Superb -
- Cynthia (7/5): Great value and location, very basic, but pleasant. - excellent location, very good price toilet paper needed to be disposed of in a trashcan instead of into the toilet
- Peggy (10/5): It was truly delightful! - It is very close to the plaza. The setting is very pleasant. The atmosphere and the food in the restaurant dry nice. I enjoyed my stay.
- Julie (6/5): Pleasant -
- Cynthia (9/5): An Excellent Experience with a Wonderful Host - The room was clean and large. The king size bed was firmer than mine at home, but I slept better than I usually do. Paola was one of the nicest hosts we’ve ever met and made our stay pleasant and comfortable. Her English is excellent, so if your Spanish is minimal or nonexistent, she’s very helpful and willing to make phone calls, line up transportation, offer advice, etc. I can’t say enough about how positively we experienced our visit thanks to her. Although there is not a breakfast there, there are many excellent choices a short walk away. The location is another big advantage. It’s less than 5 minutes to the plaza and only about 10 minutes to the malecon and many nice shops. We were here during the Dia de Muertos celebration and she had decorated her patio beautifully.
- R. (10/5): Exceptional place and service - Exceptional hostess....she waited until pretty much 1:30 in the morning for my arrival from the Airport. Exceptional hospitality. Nothing. I enjoyed it all. :)
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional - Breakfasts was delicious. Many options.
Location was great. Walking distance to the lake. Across the street From the plaza The payment did not know it would be less if cash over credit/debit card
- Darrell (10/5): Exceptional -
- Doris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Patrick (8/5): Paula was very kind and very helpful. She stayed with me on the phone to direct me to the entrance - no breakfast was offered location was hard to find...suggest listing the cross street nearest the location on Zaragosa/
Mariano Castillano i think
- Anthony (10/5): Big breakfast, Big beds. - Small B@B with four well-appointed rooms only one block from the plaza. Very friendly and helpful staff that speak good English. An excellent full cooked breakfast is served everyday with many choices. The attached restaurant also serves family style Spanish cuisine in the courtyard, with live music in the early evenings usually on weekends.
- Gus (10/5): - Paula and her staff are awesome, most welcoming! Adriana is a great cook! B&B close to everything, and includes restaurant and bar. Will be staying there anytime we go back!****
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent personal attention, local guidance and great breakfast!
Like family.
- John (10/5): Good choice - Great b & b . Owner and all staff were very attentive. Made us feel like family. Perfect location for visiting Ajijic and relaxing.
- Dieter (10/5): - Everything was great good food and great staff
- Robert (10/5): - Our stay was fantastic. Meson Don Quijote, located in downtown Ajijic, a short walk to stores, restaurants, and the beautiful Plaza, allowed us to experience authentic Mexican culture, removed from the pretensions of destination resorts. The staff was quite amiable, providing a delicious breakfast daily, and a spotless room. The in-house garden restaurant was the best we experienced in Ajijic, thanks to Adriano, the beautiful and friendly chef who insisted everyone speak Spanish. The room offered a single chair, a modest oversight; otherwise, it was quite comfortably furnished.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The property had clean bright airy rooms in a characterful building. There is a restaurant serving Spanish style food and a bar with occasional music in the early evening. A cooked breakfast was served on the patio amongst the potted plants and mature trees. All the staff were friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - What a wonderful stay...like many travelers to Ajijic, we visited to check out retiring there. Paola, the owner is also in real estate and took a day to show us around and a couple of houses to give us a feel of the area. We're making plans to return next year. The food was good, the staff is very courteous. We were very pleased...rates and A+
- Mara (8/5): Friendly Staff / Good Location - The location is excellent. The staff is welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed the breakfast on the patio. We had fresh fruit, eggs, and bacon along with coffee/tea. The restaurant onsite has great food. We had appetizers there one afternoon. The room we stayed in was a bit tired, but we didn't mind too much. It was clean. I would've liked to have had one more bath towel in the room. Two were provided. We stayed in a king room away from the street but close to the kitchen, so it was fairly quiet. The shower had good pressure and hot water. Although we brought our own, a 2-in-1 shampoo, lotion, and mini bar soap were provided. The bed was on the harder side, but we like that, so it was comfortable to us. There was a nice TV on the wall and a fan in the room.
- Dennis (10/5): - Close to the plaza, and the Caraterra. Great staff. Overall, great stay.
- Maria (8/5): - Its was a quiet area.. i didnt like that there was no one there later at night in case something may be needed. Although i didnt see the need this time.
- Bill (10/5): - Great little hotel, only 4 rooms, with great charm! Made to order breakfasts included! I had the best fresh fruit, granola, and yogurt! The owner is very gracious and helpful. I will definitely stay here again when in Ajijic!
- Dave&Joyce (10/5): - Staff, totally supportive, transport to/from Guadalajara AP was reliable, friendly driver, We had no concern for schedules, help as needed, etc. In Hotel, food was fine, very reasonable cost, everything as one would hope for.
- Robert (8/5): Small boutique B&B. - Room was adequate and checkin was good. Location a short block off the carretera and easy walk to Town Square. Breakfast was very good with fruit first and eggs cooked any way you want them. It was very informal to our liking.
- S Kenneth (10/5): Beautiful bnb in Ajijic - Some websites do not properly indicate that the manager will expect cash and does not accept credit cards. Pay via your booking website if you want to use a credit card. The bed and breakfast is very nice and centrally located to restaurants, theatres, and clubs within a very short distance. The malicon walkway near the edge of Lake Chapala is perhaps 15 blocks away. Calle Colon is a good street with lots of pretty shops and restaurants to take down to the lake.
- Matthew (8/5): Downtown small B&B and restaurant - Nice place w/ only 4 rooms. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The room was basic but OK; I think all 5 face the street, but it's quite enough at night, until the first bus goes by at 7:30 AM and then the traffic picks up. No air con, it was warm in mid-May so had to keep the windows open as long as possible at night but running the fan (floor model already in room) made a big difference. Right downtown, less than 5 min walk to the Plaza Central, many restaurants nearby, maybe 10 min down to the lake.
The restaurant is Spanish, not Mexican, and what I had was really good and really Spanish. Includes breakfast, which was fashioned for Anglos, but I asked one morning for Mexican breakfast and they accommodated the request. Coffee in the room, which is good because breakfast doesn't start until 9.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice little B&B close to all ajijic best bars and restaurants
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Wonderfull, helpful people, great food and serene setting!
- Judy (6/5): Good location - Basic, hostel like, friendly staff. Good breakfast. Fine courtyard
- Verified traveler (10/5): Within walking distance to most things - Great place. Staff was super friendly(including the pup!). The free breakfast, was actually breakfast! Would stay here again
