• Marcia (9/5): Fijn! Authentiek en heel vriendelijk personeel - Erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel Authentieke inrichting echt terug in de tijd. Comfortabele bedden. Ontbijt was goed. Ligt aan een weg dus je moet wel tegen wat geluid kunnen. In de avond/nacht is het verkeer er bijna niet maar overdag wel.

There’s a gorgeous view of the bay from some of the rooms. And sweet garden rooms from others. You are steps from the path along the ocean. Walking distance to downtown and Happy Girl eatery (closer to Monterey). Great spot!

• Wiebe (10/5): Our47th Anniversary staying at Old St. Angela's was special to us.....again. - The inn has such a warm and welcoming feel. It's a cozy and comfortable place to stay. The location near the beach and downtown Pacific Grove is excellent. The inn used to have 1 room with a king size bed which we have booked often, but that size bed is no longer a choice. We would have paid extra to book a room with a king size bed.

Basically across the street from the beach. The room was cute and the staff were friendly You could tell it was a bit run down, the shower was a little gross, the breakfast was lack luster and the price was a bit high for what you got

Breakfast was delicious and the peanut butter chocolate chips muffins available at check-in were a special treat. The cat on property made my day. The location was perfect. The water pressure in the shower could use some help but the temperature was great!

Comfortable downstairs common rooms with cozy couches where we sipped coffee after a very good breakfast of crepes and fruit. We stayed in the Whale Watch room, which had a balcony with a view of the Monterey Bay. The proprietor was very helpful and we had a very comfortable and relaxing stay. Nothing to suggest. We had a lovely time and the location of this property is excellent--an easy walk to Cannery Row or down to the center of Pacific Grove.

• Uwe (9/5): - Die Pension liegt wenige Schritte vom Pazifik entfernt und hat sehr viel Charme. Man fühlt sich ins letzte Jahrhundert im Haus zurück versetzt. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber. Technische Geräte findet man zwar nicht im Zimmer, was aber auch mal schön ist. Im Speisebereich gab es dafür immer heißes Wasser für Tee oder Kaffee. Zum Frühstück gab es frischen French Toast. Leider war es zu windig, um im süßen Garten zu frühstücken. Wir hatten die Pension nur für eine Nacht, um die Gegend auf dem Weg nach L.A. zu erkunden. Man sollte hier 2 Tage einplanen. Carmel by the sea hat mehr Zeit verdient. Wir würden die Pension wieder buchen. Das Bett war schmal und sehr weich.

• Lisa (8/5): Charming B&B, felt like staying at your grandma’s house. - It was charming, in a good location, and there was a cat in the garden! ❤️ The bed was extremely soft. I loved it. My husband hated it. He ended up trying to sleep on the loveseat at one point.

• Craig (9/5): Guest house with great location - Real Review: The location for exploring the Monterey Peninsula is beyond perfect! Walking one block down the hill brings you to a very quiet beach area with fantastic views. It is about four blocks from the center of Pacific Grove, With its restaurants shopping and services. It's about a 10 minute drive to downtown Monterey where all the tourist attractions are, But just far enough away from that area that you don't have a lot of the traffic. Location A+. The facility itself is an older style Craftsman home that has been cut up into apartments. The four apartments upstairs in the main house are by far the best. They have the largest rooms and the most light. One of the rooms I don't remember which one has a large outside deck facing the ocean. The other guest rooms in the back of the house downstairs are dark and small. If I were to book this place again I would definitely make room choice a priority as there is a significant difference. A nice breakfast is served every morning and there is a pleasant garden area outside. There is no traffic on the side street so it is very pleasant to enjoy your morning coffee with a bit of sunshine filtering through the trees. And a friendly cat who came to join me for coffee every morning. The common area of the B and B has some seating and offers a bit of privacy. The bed was comfortable the showers worked well and the bathroom products were high quality. When we checked in we required two rooms. One for myself and my wife and one for our son and his girlfriend. We were immediately taken to two of the smaller and darker rooms in the back of the hotel. We asked if we could be moved and we were moved upstairs into the main house to the nicest room in the hotel with a balcony and an ocean view. This change made all the difference in the world. It also caused an increase in the price. We were then moved to a different upstairs room when the room with the balcony became reserved by other travelers. They were gracious about moving us from room to room but All in all it was a touch annoying. We stayed during Monterey Car Week so it was very expensive. It was also the only place available. If I were staying here during the offseason and could get the upstairs room with the balcony at a reasonable price I would certainly stay here again.

Amazing breakfast with a different hot option every day and continental options too. Great location in pacific grove and near the sea. We were given a nicer room for free as it was available! Cute cats too 🥰 and lovely lounge areas & garden to relax with a cup of tea and read a book. The air con is a little outdated but the rooms are well ventilated and airy so this wasn’t a problem.

Quiet &comfi - Very cozy, I was working Monterey car week and appreciated the warmth of the place and host. It was like staying at Grandmas country house. A bit old fashioned and victorian but the location was great. I loved the comfortable bed, although the room was a bit small. The bathroom was spectacular and I managed to use the jacuzzi tub one night. I loved that they had tea and muffins for us in the afternoon and morning.

De wifi was slecht, de kamer klein; geen koelkast op de kamer en de douche was voor kleine mensen ( douche hangt heel laag)

• Brett (5/5): A beautiful building and outdoor courtyard, but did not have hot water in shower for all 4 nights - Great location. Good breakfast. Very nice common area. Very nice garden and outdoor seating. Outward design of building impressive. After first night of lukewarm water in shower/bath I notified owner in the morning. He said a plumber was coming and I asked if he could turn the hot water heater up a few degrees. He never followed up and after 2nd night of lukewarm shower I asked for an update. He said he would check and then never got back to me. Our 3rd and 4th night also lukewarm and then we left. My wife could not take a comfortable bath and the spa bath was advertised for the room and part of the reason we booked it.

• RichKay (6/5): Happy about location, food/breakfast and room appointments need BIG improvements. - Location was excellent. 6-8 blocks from the main tourist part of the Aquarium area so it's quiet. Only about 100 yards to the beach, a walkable short block directly to the Lover's Point area. Quaint old house on same block as Saint Angela Church, nice residential area. Street parking turned out to be not a big deal. Room was beyond cramped with little room or accommodation for storage. There is limited space to work with but could be done much better. Huge non functional antique furniture takes up a large amount of space. One chair, two people. L=Not much wall shelving. Only one window in room and it is stapled across the top so it can't be drawn open. Wall switches that don't work for anything. Breakfast buffet was woefully inadequate. This place has potential but must do much better even at the low price point (for the area).
