- 575ramif (2/5): Worst Nightmare!! - We stayed at this hotel in Pismo Beach over Easter, and it was a complete failure. Check-in was late at 5:30 p.m., even though we paid in full and were supposed to get the room at 4. The front desk staff was disengaged. Room service never happened—we asked four times and got nothing. They gave us only one towel for two people. They made excuses, saying they were understaffed for a holiday, but we still paid a high price for these rooms. That’s a management issue; it’s not our responsibility to pay for understaffing. On top of that, the room still wasn’t serviced on our last day. The manager promised a $100 credit per night and waived the valet fee, but there was no record of it at checkout. Everything was sloppy, loud, and disorganized. I do not recommend this hotel—book elsewhere.

My booking stated four people. When the room was cleaned, they didn't leave any towels. We called the front desk twice before we had towels brought up.

We are 5 in total in my family then another 5 pax in my friends family but different room . We sat together and they said since we are 10 in total we need to pay for gratuity fee which is I think not to because we have our own free food voucher ( fee included when we book the room separately) - we just sat together that’s why we were 10 people in the table. Foods are perfectly delicious!

- 921racheleg (6/5): Skip this one unless it’s free. - This hotel was very average, perhaps even below average. The best part of this hotel was the location. So if that’s your main concern, it’s a good choice, I guess. But I hear Vespera is great. The mold behind the bathroom door was gross but also not surprising given the room’s condition. It felt rundown. We booked a balcony room with a city view. I should have called and doubled checked because there was no ocean insight. The balcony overlooked a side street. It was very noisy at night and was not worth the additional cost because there wasn’t anything pretty outside but the public parking spots. Overall the room was loud. From our noisy upstairs neighbors to the cars on the street, it was a rough night. We ordered “food to the room.” Do not mistake that for Room Service because there was no service or even plates. A friendly person delivered our $92 breakfast in to go boxes, paper cups, and plastic utensils. Sure it was convenient but it didn’t feel worth the money and didn’t feel like a treat-yourself-moment. It felt like “wow, this was a waste of money.” The food was good, so it wasn’t a total loss. But it wasn’t special. I could have DoorDash’d the same thing for $50. Our room didn’t have a Do Not Disturb sign, so we couldn’t put it out to decline Housekeeping. I messaged the front desk and told them not we do want our room serviced. Alas, we returned from the beach and our room was serviced. Not a big deal, but the gentleman at the front desk clearly didn’t understand our request. Overall, I wouldn’t stay there again. I’ve been to Pismo many times over the past 20 years and I wasn’t impressed by this hotel.

- Heidi (10/5): I can't wait to go back!! - Property is easy walk to beach and pier (about 2 blocks). Beautiful room. Had a wonderful breakfast in their dining room both Saturday and Sunday. We had Mike serve us on Saturday morning and he was terrific. So attentive and friendly and gave us good tips as to what to do in PB. Then, Tony served us on Sunday morning and he was also wonderful. What a great experience. (We also ate in the Cypress Beach Club roof top bar and that was fun, too) We are already planning our next trip back to the property. What a beautiful hotel and wonderful staff. Excellent place to stay and great location! We heard the garbage trucks early morning both days, otherwise it was a perfect trip.

- anthonyacunhajr (8/5): Family trip, started rough, but got better - If I could rate the service I received from Mary Lou and Jesse separately as a 5, I absolutely would. But since everything is lumped into one overall rating, I’m going with a 4. We ran into some pretty big issues early on that honestly put a damper on our first day and even into the next morning. It got to the point where Jesse, Mary Lou, and I were seeing each other quite a bit while trying to work through everything. I won’t get into all the details, but most people would have been just as bothered as I was, and some might have even escalated things further. Once the issues were finally resolved, the stay turned into what we had originally envisioned. The patio and fire setup were perfect for the beach setting. My family enjoyed eating dinner by the fire and having our morning cinnamon rolls there on checkout day. The room itself was decent — we mainly chose it for the patio. The rooftop bar was nice, the kids loved swimming in the pool up there, and I used the gym and found it comfortable. Valet service was also great. What really separated this experience from other places was the way Jesse and Mary Lou handled everything. They showed understanding, empathy, patience, and truly great customer service as we worked through my major concerns. In today’s world, it sometimes feels like customer service isn’t what it used to be. The way they treated us was a reminder that great customer service still exists. I also have two little ones, and I noticed how kind they were with them — smiling, waving, and asking how their day was. Kids will be kids, and some places aren’t always the most kid-friendly, but that wasn’t the case here. They made us feel welcome as a family. After the issues we experienced, a lot of people probably wouldn’t return. But I will — and that’s directly because of the service from Mary Lou, Jesse, and the valet team. Once the corrections were made, the rest of the stay was pretty incredible 😊

- S4244NGjessicar (10/5): Inn at Pier goes above and beyond! - This is our second visit at Inn by the Pier and it will forever be one of our favorites. I wanted to highlight the amazing work and warmness of the staff. Especially Anastasia at the front desk, whatever she is being paid is not enough. She goes above and beyond and made our trip extra special. As well as Jesse at the front desk too, he's also amazing as well. They were helpful with our reservations and always helped when we needed anything. Breakfast in the lobby is delicious. I highly recommend the Short rib hash! Make sure you ask for a side of the house made chili Verde salsa. The rooftop restaurant is lovely in the evening. Their food selections are great as well. Like I said I cannot boast enough about this place. We will be back often, it's our new favorite spot.

- dannyseidel (10/5): Great Value, Friendly Staff, and Amazing views - I booked a quick 2 night getaway in late January here. I booked an oceanfront room which I highly recommend. Jesse who checked me in was extremely welcoming and helpful. He even helped resolve an issue with my Hilton Honors account. He informed me of all the hotel has to offer, had everything we needed and even followed up later to make sure everything was ok. The rooms are very modern and nice. They have large showers, nice sinks and a private door to the toilet. They also have normal bathroom doors instead of the "peek a boo" doors most new hotels have now. The rooms are well designed with a bunch of outlets and USB ports, although there were non by the side of the bed on the couch side. The cons of these rooms are notable however. They are not built soundproof so you can hear the people above you. Definitely book the third floor if possible. The AC unit is incredibly loud and goes on and off sporadically. There is also a car park out front so if you plan to sleep late that may get disrupted by an angsty motorist blasting music. I am a lightish sleeper and slept pretty well but if you are a very light sleeper you may struggle. We also went to the Bar/Rooftop restaurant a couple times. The staff up there is fantastic and incredibly accommodating. They have a great happy hour and a good selection of food and drinks. The quality was also very good for a hotel restaurant. The views up there are also spectacular. I personally felt like I could spend a few days here and not need to leave walking distance of my hotel. With that said the location is pretty great as you can go to the butterfly grove, Avila beach, SLO and several other places without a long drive. Overall I was very happy with my stay and plan to come again sometime. Feedback for management would be to make a better effort on maintenance. While it wasn't worth knocking a star off my review the shower holder was rusting, my ice machine and water dispenser on my floor was broken, and the room was missing some basics like wine opener, glasses etc that every other 4 star hotel I have been in has had.

Jesse is a bright spot for the trip and does a great job making the guest feel that they are the most important part of the equation. He also loves his job and loves people. He even said, “I love this hotel”. That kind of passion is priceless. The rooms feel clean and fairly updated. My experience has been positive. I’d come back here.

- James (4/5): Scary area - We upgraded to have a fire pit room. What we didn’t realise was that this meant this would be a ground floor room backing into a scary car park. We saw multiple scary homeless people, cars sitting in the car park all night playing music and multiple rounds of police checking these cars out. This hotel backs onto a car park which can become dodgy at night.

- ellasD4095JE (2/5): BUGS BUGS BUGS! My room was INFESTED with bugs! - BUGS BUGS BUGS! My room was INFESTED with bugs! They got into my bags and there were piles on ants in everything!!! It was horrid and disgusting. As soon as I realized, I called the front desk to explain the situation and they said they’d send maintenance up a little later to “check out” the bugs and then they hung up on me. I went down to the front desk to discuss the matter further but the woman at the front desk, Anastasia, was incredibly rude, made nasty comments and after explaining the entire bug situation, she asked me “Well, did you clean up after yourself?”, in a sassy and accusatory manner, essentially implying that the bugs were my fault and my problem. I had only unpacked my toiletries, which were in the bathroom, so I’m not really sure how my toothbrush caused piles of bugs to be all in my things, but okay……? We figured out the bugs were coming out of one of the walls and it didn’t look sealed properly. Especially if you pressed on the wall, bugs would pour out. No change of rooms was offered, no compensation for my items I had to throw out due to the bug infestation, and no credit for providing me with a bug infested room. I was told a manager would not be able to assist until the next day. Eventually I got a manager on the phone after I started bringing bags of bug infested items downstairs and placing them on the front desk. I spoke to the manager, Christel Jose, on the phone at the front desk, while Anastasia continued to make rude remarks and diss me under her breath. I explained I was being disrespected in real time by Anastasia, to Christel while we were on the phone, but she didn’t do anything about it and I never got an apology. I was extremely shocked at how juvenile Anastasia’s behavior was and I didn’t want any part of it or the verbal abuse I was experiencing. After I begged to not sleep in piles of bugs, Christel was able to switch me to a room that wasn’t infested with bugs, but it was a downgrade, because that was all they had available. Since it wasn’t offered, I had to then ask that I be at least credited the difference between the rooms since I was being downgraded. I was able to transfer all of my things out of the bug infested room and move them into the new room. No help, compensation, or apology was offered for the transferring of rooms and all the time spent on this matter. By the time the bug issue was resolved and I was in the new room, it had been almost 2 1/2 hours. I had missed the itinerary of activities we had planned for that night with my siblings I hadn’t seen in over 5 years, but we were able to at least get some dinner at the hotel right as the kitchen was closing. After dinner, I walked my guests down to the lobby and needed to get some items they had left in my car earlier, so we tried to find the valet to provide them with my ticket to get my car, but there was no one there. My brother had to go up to the front desk to ask how we could get in contact with the valet and Anastasia was still there. Anastasia was talking smack about me in the lobby at the front desk, making rude remarks to others, and pointing at me. The experience was in poor taste and completely unprofessional. Anastasia was then rude to my brother and gave him attitude, which threw him off guard and he was very perplexed by the situation and that any adult would communicate that way. It was then clear to me this person, Anastasia, was very obviously going to continue to verbally attack and abuse me and my family, likely due to a mental illness that no one could seem to reason with, and that I needed to get out of that hotel ASAP! I messaged the manager and informed her that I was being driven out of the hotel by this whole situation and I would not be checking out downstairs with Anastasia at the front desk because I was mentally drained and couldn’t take any more abuse. It was the middle of the night and I wasn’t safe at this hotel, so I had to leave immediately. I was traumatized, verbally abused, and all my items had been infested with bugs. No apology or compensation has been offered or provided to help remedy this situation. As someone that is from and grew up in this area, it truly hurts my core that this hotel is treating visitors this way and is infested with bugs. This is really not reflective of the area or the people of the central coast. I truly urge everyone NOT to stay at this hotel. There are plenty of other hotels in the area that are not infested with bugs and not being managed by front desk attendants with unresolved mental illnesses. I truly hope these people get some help and take some time to remodel and treat this hotel for bugs so it can be a respectful, safe, and clean part of the Pismo Beach community. For now though, DO NOT STAY HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!

We loved Jesse he was so accommodating and gifted us some cookie decorations and water taffy! We also enjoyed Anastasia! She moved us to a two queen bedroom since the class bed wasn’t so comfy The pull out beds are not comfy. Don’t recommend staying on it if you have a bad back.

Wir haben das erste Zimmer gewechselt, da es in dort keine Gardinen (nur welche zur Verdunklung) gab und für das gesamte Zimmer nur eine Schreibtischlampe, keine Deckenlampe oder Nachtischlampe. Das zweite Zimmer hatte dann Gardinen und Nachtischlampe.

These young ladies made my initial impression remarkable! Shortly upon arriving to my room I asked if there was a room available with two and they did miracles! Dinner was delicious as well, my husband order a steak mid-rare and I chose steak frites.

The location is great if you want to be in the heart of the tourist area. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The front desk staff and the valet crew are both very friendly. Housekeeping was OK but didn't service our room one day at all and never left a spare roll of toilet paper when they did service it. There was also trash left in the hallway from another room all evening, overnight and into the next morning. We had a terrible checkout experience with a billing error. We waited one hour for a manager to resolve it. To me, that's completely disrespectful of the value of guest's time.
- LukeHaines96 (8/5): Lovely stay, service under par - Aesthetically very pleasing and is just as the images online show. We booked fire pit sea view room and was exactly as advertised. In a great location, right on the pier and with loads of restaurants, bars and shops on the door step. Valet was simple and easy. As we entered our room it was modern and spacious but did have a real strong smell of bleach and the floors were quite slippery. Everything very clean and comfy. Only downfall and the reason for not giving 4 stars was the service in the rooftop restaurant. The waiter (guy with tattoos and long hair) was nice enough, but restaurants are not for him. Service was very slow with only 3 tables to look after. He even asked me questions about the kids menu as he wasn’t ‘so familiar with it’. Food and drink offer was however nice. I would recommend and would return
