From reserving a parking space for us to personally helping us secure dinner across the street at Lyonshare, the hospitality was top-notch. We stayed in the Dutchess Suite for three nights and absolutely loved it. The inn's retro charm shines through, with thoughtful details that make the experience both unique and cozy. The bed was wonderfully soft and comfortable, a welcome retreat after such a long travel day. As a DINK, I truly appreciated the adult-only vibe, which kept the atmosphere romantic and quiet. Location-wise, the inn is perfectly situated just off Main Street, making it easy to stroll, explore shops, and sample Beacon’s excellent local cuisine. I especially loved that it was right next to a fantastic local coffee shop, which became part of our daily ritual. On our final day, we arranged a late checkout for a very reasonable $25, which made departure much more relaxed. Next time, I hope to explore the spa and fully immerse myself in the experience. I will definitely be returning to The Dutchess Inn. It is a hidden gem with retro vibes, warm hospitality, and the perfect home base for enjoying Beacon.

Offered suggestions about things to do, etc. We had room 302 which was dark, no window except for a glass brick small square that looked out on a light shaft. They DO warn you about this on the website and they discount the price. Unfortunately I didn’t notice the warning maybe because I booked through Expedia. It’s my own fault but we were miserable in that room. Try another room that doesn’t end in 2. Also, oddly they don’t have the name of the hotel “Duchess Inn and Spa” on the hotel. Just “Inn and Spa” so when you’re driving by it’s really confusing.

The room was gorgeous, comfortable, and since it was so hot outside, they had added window units to help keep everything comfortable (and it was!). The staff were friendly, helpful, and so kind. They added several elements to our stay that made extra fun for us, had great recommendations for restaurants, wine shops, so we could grab a bottle to enjoy in the solarium, or on the roof (which had gorgeous views and a perfect breeze). My Mother and sister both enjoyed their massages. And we loved wandering the town, exploring. I 100% intend to go back and stay again!!

- Pioneer45623428647 (2/5): Do not stay here - Do not stay here. We were booked in a room facing Main Street. 6:20 am recycling trucks on Saturday morning right outside inn. Windows are not at all soundproof so you will be awakened abruptly. The additional sleeping area ( described as a suite) is a Murphy bed in a closet. So uncomfortable. No ac in that so called sleeping area. Very warm. Keruig broken. Front desk woman was rude and not helpful. The manager not on the premises the entire weekend. The manager had the nerve to call the front desk and have my masseuse bring me a cell phone to talk to her in the so called spa. While I was on the massage table undressed with my face down in the head cradle. I actually had to try to discuss my issues with her because it was when she was able to talk. No regard to the fact that I am a guest trying to relax. The spa is a room with a massage table. Not a spa! . She did not offer any discount or complimentary services for our problems. Told us we could check out and not pay for 2nd night. Impossible because we were in for a wedding and nowhere else had vacancy. Do not book a room here! We felt extremely uncomfortable and the rude person working the front desk looked at me like I was crazy when I explained our issues. Not at all helpful. No customer service.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Beautiful venue but service not up to par - Beautiful hotel in an ideal spot. Unfortunately the customer service is lacking at this price point. We did not feel that we were looked after adequately - we had to ask alot of questions to get relevant information and the receptionist upon arrival tried to pawn us off on a cheaper room than the one we’d booked. The hotel also boasted free parking and access to hydrotherapy - however the hotel did not offer parking (unless staying in its sister location). Your will need to find your own municipal parking lot spot in the city. We weren’t able to use the spa facilities because everything was fully booked. We did not feel that the staff tried to get us an appointment nor did we get any advance warning that we would need to book ahead. Additionally, our booking for the hydrotherapy hot tub was cancelled despite being previously confirmed. We expected a higher quality stay given the hotel’s ‘boutique’ approach and its high price point.

Instead you'll stay in a soul-sucking room that has no A/C, no quiet, no peace, NOTHING that looks like the main house. If you have a hard time with your alarm clock NO WORRIES garbage trucks start on at 5am and then again at 6am WEEKENDS. Management is RUDE and disinterested, taking no responsibility for the rooms, noise, uncorking a/c. We checked out after one night and got charged for two.

- Ryanboyz (10/5): best bet in beacon - we stayed in the factory which is a new boutique type hotel attached to the spa. we stayed in the disco themed room. in summary if you’re going to spend a night or weekend in beacon this is a great choice. great location on main St staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. any reviewers who criticized service need to look in the mirror the disco themed room was very well done and it was a fun spin on a regular: if there one criticism it’s that the way the room is designed is really fun (hanging chair, platform bed) but the added fun = sacrificed comfort. there’s no where to sit, the platform bed was comfortable but a tight squeeze in and out. so if you’re staying more than one night i’d pick a larger more well furnished room. there’s great outdoor spaces in the first floor to sit outside. i cannot comment on the spa itself as we didn’t use the facilities. if you go hear a nice place with a good vibe to have a cocktail is called the vinyl room. we were a bit older than the crowd but it was fun.

The decor was super stylish, bed incredibly comfortable and every aspect of it felt like a real treat. The staff were welcoming and helpful and I'd definitely recommend staying in the new annex.
- Robert (6/5): - This was our second time in this hotel. The first time the experience was excellent so we rebooked. But now they have a recently opened,nearly adjacent, Annex in a repurposed textile factory. This was much less pleasant. First, there was no elevator so you have to go up 21 steps, not easy if you have heavy luggage. Moreover, when booking there was no notice about no elevator to the room. The interior decoration of the room is industrial chic, clearly an expensive project. The room decoration is funky but not comfortable. There was really no sitting space, an old sewing table for a desk but one has to share the space with a big sewing machine. No closet or chest for clothes. An antique ironing board served as an end table, which means thinking a bit about how to leave the bed. Next time I will only go to the hotel if the room is booked in the main building, where our room was charming and comfortable.

We were greeted by the wonderful Megan who graciously showed us around before our massages. Leading up to the trip, she also helped me via telephone strategize massage & hydrotherapy bookings. Our massages with Ynez were very therapeutic and relaxing — the hydrotherapy was the perfect way to decompress. We had the absolute of privilege of staying in the Bailee Suite, which was as clean, comfy and cool as they come. Special shout out to Jessica & Lily at the front who are a delight. The location is perfect! We were walking distance to everything. (Not to mention the solarium and rooftop with a view of the whole town). Thanks to Bethany for curating an impeccable spot with tons of personality, unique touches and extreme comfort. We will be back!
- Stephen (2/5): - My girlfriend and I stayed at the Dutchess Hotel and Spa for one night in Feb 2024, and although the staff were friendly and the location was nice, the building is outdated. The elevator broke down overnight and our wifi went down. The staff had indicated that the elevator outage was a recurring issue over the last year. This made for an inconvenient last day of our trip, exacerbated by the fact that our room key did not work two separate times that morning, which forced us to take several trips up and down the stairs (our room was on the top floor). We were waiting for the elevator repairman to show up prior to check out, but he did not arrive. We were led to believe there would likely be a refund for this inconvenience, but we were only offered a $25 refund off what was a $450 one-night rate. Would not recommend this location, especially given it is the priciest hotel in the area.

Leslie was intuitive to my needs and gave me one of the best facials I’ve had. It provided the relaxing escape I was looking for.

Bethany, the owner, was personally available when I had a question, and because it’s a small boutique hotel, they have a system to accommodate guests in case the staff are assisting other guests and have had to step away from the desk: a phone number is available that links directly to a staff member. It’s a quaint and extremely convenient spot from which to explore Beacon. Rooms are all different and eclectically decorated with vintage pieces and artistic touches. Altogether a unique experience that felt like a community and luxury hotel in one.

I called the hotel shortly thereafter to ask if I could reschedule. I did not ask for a refund, just a credit for a future stay. Ultimately, I was told that are no 'changes under any circumstances.' To receive such a response, at any time, is a hard pill to swallow. Where is the compassion? The response is extremely apathetic and screams of greed. This is the last thing I need to be thinking about during a difficult time. It is my hope that the $700+ you collected is put to use on a course that teaches management how to be kind human beings. Be better.

This time new girl says give us another hour and thank you for being so nice. So I waited. Another hour. Walked down the street this time. Came back around 6. No one at front desk. Place was locked. Went to my room. Emailed them because no one was at front desk so I didn’t call. No one emailed me back. Went downstairs again around 8. Not. One. Soul was there. Went to bed. Woke up next day and received email saying how sorry they were and would love to set up hydrotherapy before I left. I could not do that since I had to depart at 11 sharp and didn’t want to be wet and drive home. Just don’t go there. What a waste of time. I basically drove 2 hrs. No hydrotherapy like I was promised. I drove 4 hrs total to sleep in a hotel. Waste.of.time.

They cancelled our massages the day of and when asked about rescheduling was told sorry everyone gets sick. I had to suggest that they call and see if someone else would be available to come in before they even picked up the phone to try to make it right. After checking out we received an email saying there was paint missing from the ceiling and we were being billed for it. First of the paint was missing when we arrived and secondly I am 30 weeks pregnant what would I be doing to your ceiling to make paint come off? This place has horrible customer service and tries to make you pay for their needed reepairs. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!

We were coming to town for a family wedding weekend and the wedding venue & hotel at the other end of Main Street somehow lost our reservations - three rooms...yikes! They unfortunately did not make an effort to rectify the problem. Fortunately for us, Shauna and Meghan and the team at The Duchess Inn went out of their way to secure rooms for us, even though their newer rooms in a neighboring building were not quite ready for guests. They not only had the rooms ready for us, but they finished them beautifully and luxuriously with all of the comforts and more that you would expect from a high end boutique hotel. The rooms were very charming with creative touches and quite spacious. We highly recommend! The Sher Family
- Memphisnative (10/5): A splurge-worthy stay - The Inn cost more than I am normally willing to pay for a hotel, but it turned out to be worth it for a quick girls' trip away from NYC. It was easy to get to on Metro North, and we took the free bus that runs from the train station in Beacon on a loop, passing down Main Street right past the inn--only about 5 minutes drive. The inn was a great location for someone without a car, as we could walk everywhere we wanted. The free bus is easy to catch and will take you to all the Main Street businesses as well as the Mount Beacon hiking trailhead.. There are lots of restaurants nearby, a drugstore, coffee shops, and gift stores. Beds were comfortable, although a bit firmer than we normally prefer. Bathroom was huge. I don't care for showers with partial walls and no door or curtain, but it looked pretty and water pressure was good. The luxurious robes were a nice surprise. The room had a mini-fridge, which was convenient for leftover restaurant takeout. The sink is in the bedroom, not the bathroom, which seemed a little strange, but it was not a problem for us. There was a solarium on the top floor with a rooftop deck. It was too cold during our visit to checkout the deck, but the solarium was a nice retreat for coffee and solitude. The hotel was quiet, and we never saw another guest. We scheduled a massage at the on-site spa, and it was the best ever. Advance reservations are highly recommended since they seemed quite booked up in the spa. The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly, arranging late check-in and holding our luggage after check-out until we departed for the train. I would highly recommend the inn for a couple, a wedding party or a group of friends, but it's not suitable for families.

They arranged to let me check in early (for a fee) so I could attend a family event. The room was well appointed, spotless, very comfortable bed, and best of all, super silent. Unfortunately, this time the room was in the basement, smelled of mold and had water damage to the moldings in the shower. On top of this, it was twice as expensive as what we paid in 2021. I did call about the cost but was told that is the rate. Nothing could be done. I also spoke to the front desk about the mold smell and the water damage and was told someone would look into it. We left before we ever heard back. I did write a letter several weeks back about my concerns, but no response. Won't stay here again. Not worth the price. James L.

Our suite was large and well appointed, with plenty of outlets and a strong wifi signal. We particularly enjoyed the covered open area deck along with the large rooftop, which features tables, chairs and nice views. Service was quite good too: Friendly and attentive. For a stay in Beacon, this is an excellent choice.

The staff was amazing, the rooms were perfect, and we were able to gather on the rooftop, around the fire pit and in the comfortable sitting area on the fourth floor. I highly recommend the Inn for anyone seeking a top-notch hospitality experience.
- Peter (10/5): - I loved the way the building's history revealed itself through the series of remodelings, redesigns and repairs that transformed the entity over time. It lent a quaint, sometimes whimsical, atmosphere to the suite where we stayed.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Great location with a wonderful deck - Cute place right in the heart of Beacon. Rooms are nice and bathrooms are clean. The best part of the hotel however is the amazing rooftop deck. There are wonderful views and lots of nice sitting areas. If you want a treatment in the “spa” be sure to book well in advance. We were unable to get any treatments when we were there,

The hotel is cozy, the room is spotless, the location is unbeatable (it is on the quieter side of town) and the rooftop sunset is stunning. And the staff is absolutely wonderful. We had a fantastic stay.

Room had roku I would’ve enjoyed that at home but I don’t want to put all my passwords in a hotel cable would be easier I never actually watched the TV. No fridge was a bummer I always buy beer and have leftovers. Still need an iron the steamer isn’t the same. That’s the negative everything else was superb the roof deck is an oasis, the staff are super cool, friendly and helpful. The remodel is great!

- Dave (10/5): Great place for a weekend getaway - It’s a quaint little place on Main st with a short walk to other restaurants and close to the Hudson if you wanted to see it. The staff was great and my wife and I got a massage there too which was fantastic.

- Chenni (8/5): Great service and hot tub bonus - The receptionist was warm and friendly as soon as we entered the hotel premises and gave us great tips about enjoying the property including the Solarium as an extension of our room and also the jacuzzi which we enjoyed very much in this coldest of nights. Overall great service and hope to come back again!

- Verified traveler (8/5): - Positives- A beautiful, extremely clean hotel. Killer rooftop for the warmer months, and nice spa options. The staff is also wonderful. Negatives- rooms do not have temperature control (we felt warm at night), only have about 10 channels on the tv, and there’s no in-room refrigerators. Overall a very positive experience.

- Joseph (2/5): locked - I come to beacon often but I stayed at the Inn and Spa for the first time last weekend. I accidentally left my card key in my room and I was unable to enter the hotel when I returned after a night out. I was outside freezing for about 20 minutes. I after sometime had passed I called an uber and stayed at friends house. So I paid $300 for the night and was unable to stay there. Very embarrassing moment.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Charming and convenient and luxurious - I had dinner with friends and missed the train back to the city and decided to splurge. Well worth it. This is a hotel the way a hotel should be. Gorgeous bathroom, robe, softest sheets ever... wonderful tv easy to work... complimentary tea in the lobby and just beautiful all around and convenient to shops and restaurants and train. I will be back.
- Doug (8/5): - Front desk staff were warm and accommodating! A manager was present for much of one day conducting business with staff in the lobby area. This was often negative conversation. Especially leaving a spa experience while away from work!
