Guest Reviews
- ingridoR7161JH (10/5): a great hotel - This hotel has a pool and all the rooms have a TV. They serve breakfast in the morning and the rooms are clean.
- donotstayhere201 (2/5): LK - The room was very small for personal items. Bathroom faucet was leaking, door frame and door had a gap to see hallway daylight, hallway had a distinct smell, pillows were not comfortable, pool did not work, would not recommend to others. Will not stay at this location again.
- carolinerJ3627ZN (2/5): Wifi doesn't work - Wifi didn't work the entire time, was there for business. Even tried sitting in the lobby near the router. Lost a week of productivity. Will not stay at Radisson brand hotels again, especially Country Inn.
- Stefanie (2/5): - From the minute I walked in the room I questioned if I wanted to stay here. The front desk person hated her job and being there as she was very vocal about it. The pool, hot tub, ice machine were all not working. A sign stated the only continental not hot breakfast was being served. There was a fridge in the middle of the hall with writing all over it. Once in the room there was a hole in the wall. Mold on in the shower and the faucet dripped so loud I had to shut the door. A closet was blocking the door that once was to an adjoining room. Definitely will not be staying here again
- Carlos (4/5): - Me pidieron la tarjeta que no me llegado la tarjeta que apliqué con ustedes que mal servicio . Ahora tengo q hacer otro gasto con otra tarjeta
- Todd (4/5): - Musty smelling in room
- TODD (2/5): - Room very damp, Staff very poor attitude, breakfast not fully provided as stated, pool in-op, Ice machine in-op etc...
- Yue (6/5): - Nothing was working, pool, hot tub, hot breakfast, tv in room wasn’t working either
- X6780UUaustinl (2/5): DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. YOU’D BE BETTER OF SLEEPING IN YOUR CAR - This was, without question, the worst hotel experience I have ever encountered, and it has left me questioning the standards and practices maintained at your property. My party consisted of myself, my wife, my mother-in-law, and—most critically—our 9-day-old daughter, which made the condition and functionality of the hotel especially important.
Below is a comprehensive list of the issues we encountered during our short but deeply disappointing stay:
⸻
1. Undisclosed Amenity Closures
Upon arrival, I was informed that the pool, hot tub, and both ice machines were out of order. At no point during booking was this mentioned, which is a clear failure of transparency and a breach of expectations based on your advertised amenities.
⸻
2. Room Confusion at Check-In
After being handed my room key, the front desk attendant abruptly paused me to double-check whether someone else had already been checked into the same room earlier that day. This does not inspire confidence in your reservation system or guest security protocols.
⸻
3. No Hand Soap or Bar Soap in Room
Upon entering the room, we discovered no hand soap or bar soap was provided. When I went to the front desk, I was told the hotel was out of soap entirely and was offered body wash as a substitute. For any guest this would be unacceptable—but for us, traveling with a newborn infant, this posed a serious health and sanitation risk during a time when hygiene is critically important for feeding, diaper changes, and newborn care. I was forced to leave the hotel and purchase soap from a nearby gas station at my own expense.
⸻
4. Plumbing Leak in Bathroom
At approximately 1 a.m., I discovered a large puddle of water in the bathroom, which was leaking from the pipe under the sink. Upon inspection, I found that the leak had clearly been a known issue, as a towel had been wrapped around the pipe as a makeshift fix—prior to our arrival. The sink also failed to drain properly, leaving standing water in the basin throughout our stay.
⸻
5. Unauthorized Entry by Staff
Later in the morning, we were startled by a hotel employee entering our room unannounced, waking up our 9-day-old daughter. The staff member apologized, claiming that the room was showing as unoccupied in the system. This is a major breach of privacy and guest safety, especially given the age of our child.
⸻
6. Inadequate and Dirty Bedding
Both beds in the room were made with sheets that were too small for the mattresses, causing them to come loose repeatedly during the night. Additionally, the microwave was filthy, with visible food splatter inside when my mother-in-law attempted to use it.
⸻
7. Filthy Bathroom and Linens
The shower had hair in it from a previous guest, and the towel I used after showering had pubic hair on it, which was disgusting and left me feeling dirtier than before I entered the shower. This level of uncleanliness is inexcusable in any hospitality setting.
⸻
8. False Advertising of Breakfast
Despite advertising a complimentary breakfast, there was no breakfast available during our stay. This was another serious letdown in a long series of broken promises.
⸻
9. Poor Staff Conduct and Facility Maintenance
Throughout the hotel, the garbage cans were overflowing, including those in the lobby and outside. To make matters worse, members of the hotel staff were heard loudly complaining about their jobs while sitting in the public areas, with one even commenting that they were on a “three-hour break from cleaning.”
- Happiness00029583692 (2/5): Don’t waste your time staying at this hotel as the pool and hot tub are broke along with both ice machines. Go elsewhere - We went to check in at this hotel and the pool and hot tub were broke along with both ice machines. Don’t waste your time, go somewhere else.
I thought by now they would’ve had those issues fixed as I did see those comments on other reviews. Additionally went in the public restroom, and there was a bucket in the middle of the floor with a note on it, don’t move, roof leaks.
I would recommend that choice hotels pulls their flag and put them under a PIP .
- Bruce (4/5): - Pool out of service, spa out of service, ice machine out of order, bathtub drain would not drain after shower, missing paint on hallway walls, no soap for washing hands at sink (we asked at the front desk and they had none.) Very limited breakfast choices.
- Moira (4/5): - Staff were great ! And also deeply sympathetic to the fact that this location is fairly run down, with broken ice machine, broken pool and hottub, no real breakfast options. Lots of stains on the carpets, run down overall, clogged sinks, scratchy towels….
- scott (2/5): Avoid this hotel. - Hotel was dirty and not well maintained. Pool was not working. Has not been for a while based upon the signs. Ice machine was not working. The tv in our room didn’t work. Air conditioner made the room smell moldy. Everything was well worn and not clean.
- skthayer (2/5): Not going back - Nasty hotel - pool and hot tub didn’t work - no hot breakfast as advertised, ice machines all out of order, some outlets in room didn’t work. Front desk gals rude and very unprofessional. Wouldn’t recommend this hotel - nor will ever stay there again!
- Brian (6/5): - Pool and hot tub were closed. Room was dated. Breakfast was poor with not many choices.
- Mike (6/5): Musty room - Bed was ok but both the mattress pad and fitted sheet would not stay on the bed. We were up twice during night as we were wrapped up in both. The 2nd bed looked as if those sheets did not fit well either( we didn’t sleep in it). The room was musty so we opened the window for fresh air. No hot tub or hot breakfast Not a deal breaker. Nice staff. Basically a hotel room. Cheaper than many in town.
- Leo A (2/5): - Limited breakfast, no pool, no hot tub, no ice machine. Poor upkeep. Ownership clearly doesn't care.
- Teryle (4/5): - The carpets were dirty in the hallway, tv cable didn’t work, heater/ A/C was very noisy.
- Lisa (4/5): Syay - I made the mistake of not checking reviews before I book this hotel or I would not have booked it. The pool and hot tub are not working, the ice machines are not working, they no longer serve hot breakfast. On the morning of breakfast, we had to find a staff member to open up the door, nothing was turned on or ready. The coffee and hot water was 1 to 2 days old. Our room had no toilet paper, the security lock was broken, and I had a dirty pillow, obviously not a lot of care is put into cleanliness.
- Maiko (2/5): - The room was very dirty. Popcorn was left scattered next to the bed. The towels had stains. The two ice machines were out of service, and the pool and hot tub were not serviced. Everything was disappointing. I will not stay here again.
- Stephanie (4/5): - 1. Generally run down
2. Pool closed (doesn’t look to be opening any time soon)
3. Staff was decently friendly
4. Carpet in room had gooey looking stains
5. Outlet in bathroom didn’t work and not properly attached to the wall
6. Mattress placed on top of old, fraying, exposed box spring (no bedding covering it).
7. There was some kind of loud chirping insect in the room (cricket?) that began at lights out.
I know times are tough but this place needs a complete remodel or they need to decrease their price to stay. The overall rating of “8” is pretty misleading.
- C6577CXtimt (2/5): Not "Country" and definitely Not Sweet Suites - Our stay was two evenings at $180/night
Staff at the front entrance were usually gone. When they showed up, they communicated poorly (struggled with English) and were not cooperative or helpful.
The breakfast area was a disaster both mornings, and the food was not edible.
In the 3 days we were staying, the ICE machine was 'broken' all 3 days. NO ICE
Our room was marginal, at best.
The carpeting in the hallways and lobby was dirty
Would Rate Lower If Possible...
I am not planning to ever stay here again.
- James P (2/5): - Check-in not friendly at all.
Pool & hot tub closed for “maintenance” but it seems like it’s been that way for a long time.
No ice machines
Hallways were dirty & filled with bedding when we arrived.
The room smelled bad, was not clean nor maintained. Hair on the bathroom floor, cracked window, tv didn’t work, shower curtain was barely hanging on.
Stay elsewhere
- Verified traveler (6/5): Disappointed - I stay here for work often. They stopped providing the hot breakfast, which was the only reason I chose them over other accommodations, so I will be looking elsewhere.
- Krista (2/5): - I checked into this hotel and had to ask to switch rooms to a very strong musty wet odor and dirty room. The second room was even worse. The floor was filthy the bedding was dirty. There was an outlet that was completely brown in filth. The drywall from walls were crumbling in spots stains all over the walls as well. The deadbolt did not work and the door also didn’t properly latch. I would advise not to stay at this property the pictures are nothing what the hotel looks like. It’s very worn down and dirty and needs to be completely renovated. The pool and hot tub have been down for quite awhile as well as the Ice machine. There is not a decent breakfast either they serve a grab and go breakfast. I had to fight to get a refund for the second night and a partial refund for the first night.
- cerisa (2/5): - Will not be returning to this hotel. The hot tub pool and ice machine broken. TV in my room doesn’t work. They said when I checked in they didn’t get the payment from Expedia and actually called me in my room and asked me to call Expedia to get payment. Like isn’t that your job?!
- Harlan (8/5): - Property needs some TLC. The doors covering the refrigerator and the microwave need touch up. Poor excuse for breakfast. Never have we been disappointed with the breakfast at a Country Inn and Suites until this one.
- Anthony (2/5): - This place is very poorly maintained! The staff were nice and seem to try. The pool and hot tub looked like they were out of service for a while. No breakfast served. We had to be moved from our first room due to plumbing problems only to have plumbing problems that we just endured in the second.
- Dan (4/5): - Really run down and many things not working. No breakfast - just a bag to go
- Eric (4/5): - Toilet did not work in our room and no breakfast served this morning.
- Melissa (8/5): - Staff was nice. Quick checkin. Ice machine was doen but they gave you a little bag of ice if needed. Drive and parking lot a little rough.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Okay - TV did not work so we were moved to a new room. The new room had no toilet paper and towels. Door security lock was damaged. The hotel was under renovation so there was also no pool.
- 189bobp (4/5): Skip this hotel! - This hotel is a complete disaster! The door lock mechanism was loose an the deadbolt would not lock. They moved me eventually, but had to try 5 more rooms before they found one with a working deadbolt. The pool and whirlpool were closed and the ice machine was out of order.
- Inspire51736481910 (6/5): Many missing (advertised) amenities. - Lower your expectations, lower them again & you won't be very disappointed. Missing a number of amenities you'd expect at a Country Inn (& advertised on their website). Covid was a long time ago now, time to bring back services or update your website listing & stop false advertising through Choice Hotels' site.
- Jill (6/5): - Property needs updating. Old and worn out carpet in my room. Ice machine didn't work.
Had to hold down toilet for awhile before it would flush . Towels weren't soft at all but it was clean and the front desk staff was very pleasant and let me have a late check out which I appreciated
- Nicole (8/5): No frills but clean - It was a good place to stay for one night. It was clean which is most important to me. The building and rooms need some TLC and updating. However, it was clean. I think that before the travel season the pool and ice machine should be in working order. They did provide ice when asked. The breakfast was shut down and only Continental was available, not what was advertised or even in others comments. Maybe because it was a weekday. It was good to sleep and shower.
- beckysY2188CV (4/5): The place needs work and updating - Pool, hot tub, ice machine, and lobby air container all broken. Paint on ceiling of bathroom was peeling and no bathroom exhaust fan. The shower curtain wouldn't close properly so every shower flooded the bathroom floor and the hook an the back of the bathroom door was falling off. Room air conditioner filters were disgusting and we had to clean them. Continental breakfast was lacking. Staff was very nice and polite.
- Molly (6/5): One & Done Visit - It was okay, nothing special. It wasn't as good like other Country Inn hotels that we've stayed in. The man at the front desk wasn't the nicest to my husband when he asked him some questions and he was difficult to understand with his accent. The breakfast wasn't very complete with hot foods. The condition of the lobby area and hallways looked rather shabby, in need of updating. The pool, hot tub, and ice machine were all down which made us wonder if they just didn't want the hassle of many people using them, especially over a busy holiday week. If we come back to Grand Rapids again for a visit, we'll probably try some place else.
- Vang (6/5): - Over clean and nice. There was no hot breakfast as advertised...
- David (2/5): Worst experience at a Country Inn & Suites - Country Inn & Suites has always been a pretty good bet when traveling. Buildings are usually updated and has pretty good amenities. Staff is always been friendly and courteous and can get you what you need. That is not what you're going to get at this property. First off we booked the property and it was listed with the pool and hot tub. This is one of the reasons why we picked the property. Drove 3 hours to get there and the pool and hot tub or clothes for maintenance. That's fine, except they're not even working on it it's half full and they just don't want to have it open. Their answer is you could go to the hotel across the street. We have been traveling for hours and we're just done so we decide to stay. Get to our room unpack our stuff, go down to get ice and no ice in the entire Hotel. Not to mention that the lobby is kind of filthy trash cans are overflowing. Whole Lobby smells very bad like some kind of weird Indian food with cabbage. Come to the next morning to go for the free breakfast. And you get sour orange juice and outdated rolls. Someone really needs to take better care of this property.
- 511kristiz (4/5): No Amenities - We arrived at 7pm excited to soak in the hot tub. When we got to the hotel we were notified the pool, hot tub and ice machine are not working. Also, no hot breakfast. Rooms are clean, but overall very disappointed in our stay!! Hoping management steps in to get this hotels standards back up to par!!
- Lara (4/5): - The bed was lumpy, pillows were flat and terrible. The pool, hot tub, and ice machine was out of service. The phone in my room did work so I had to call the front desk from my phone when the smoke detector in my room was chirping at 4:00am! It was not a good experience.
- linda (8/5): - Excellent service
- Rachel (2/5): - Pool, hot tub and ice machienes were all broken, no extra pillows available. The bath tub surround was covered in mold, the shower head was hanging out of the wall by a giant hole in the sheet rock and the shower head leaked so bad it was shooting water at the sheet rock. Building was in very poor condition.
- Mercedes (2/5): - Nothing clean, updated or works. right away walking in you see a sign that says no pool, no hot tub and no ice machines work. cracks in walls, painted over damage and very poor conditions.
- Sandy (4/5): Never again! - Walked into hotel and saw a sign that said “pool, hot tub and ice machine down until further notice” that was our main reason for staying there! Then we wanted to sit outside the old owners had a beautiful propane firepit. The lady at the desk sadly didn’t speak very fluent English she didn’t understand firepit. Check into our room after being told that “Expedia frauded us” and our reservations were not valid! I’ve been using Hotels.com for years and have had good luck. So we paid privately. Walk into a room and after over 90 minutes of staff and my partner trying to turn on tv…the worker was on his phone most of this time…we were given a new room. The bathtub was filthy so we chose not to shower. The Perks was that they attempted to accommodate the television part and are pet friendly but I know we won’t be staying there again! This used to be our go-to in Grand Rapids, MN. The property is poorly taken care of, lawn unkempt, parking lot needs work. Sad to see such a formerly nice hotel go to crap like this one did.
- Heidi (10/5): - The room was great. Our only issue was that we couldn't figure out how to get the TV channels. We gave up and just went to sleep. A little disappointed the pool was out of order.
- Sarah (2/5): - The property was fine but Expedia was the issue. I pre paid for this stay and when I arrived to check in the hotel couldn’t process it because Expedia did not send them the funds. I was on the phone with Expedia for an hour and they didn’t understand the issue at all. They ended up having to cancel my stay and I had to pay an extra $60 to stay the night. They have still not refunded me and told me the best they could do is $25 in rewards for Expedia.
- Barbara (6/5): - The pool was closed for “maintenance “ and none of the ice machines working
- Lesli (2/5): - This place has gone down hill fast. We always stay there when we visit, never again!!! I think they have new "managers".
- Gayle (10/5): - The motel was great but our hotel booking was NOT! You hadn’t paid the motel and I had paid on the app. It took a long phone. Call and half hour wait - wasting our time and others trying to check in behind us!
- CoreyV378 (2/5): Would Rate Lower If Possible... - Should've turned around after seeing the most basic attempt of clearing snow had been done in the parking lot and sidewalk. It was just packed down snow and slick/solid ice in parts. The highway sign was dark- probably broken. Walk in to a dimly lit front area- no fire in the fireplace and the odor of dampness covered by Indian cooking. Fans in the hallway attempting to dry wet carpet caused by a leaky ice machine. No greeting, just a guy staring at me, waiting for me to say something. Was given my room. I had to get on a Teams call right away, so didn't have time to look around the room beyond the fact that there was an old chair that was now an office chair at the desk. After the call, I went into the bathroom to find 2 used towels hanging on the back of the door, and a mismatched toilet. Went back into the room to find the garbage can 75% full, and potato chips ground into the carpet. It was dark, dinner time, and I decided to stick it out because I just wanted to eat and get rest after a day of travelling. Couldn't get regular TV to work, so had to watch the web-based channels instead. Go to lock the door before going to sleep to find the extra lock (the one at face level) was barely hanging by 2 screws. Had to keep the fan on the heater running all night because it sounded like a small animal being squealing whenever the fan shut down. I got my breakfast elsewhere, as I didn't trust that food was prepared in a sanitary facility. The place smelled musty, had walls with holes and patchwork showing, and employees that couldve cared less if you were there. I travel 50% of the year for work, and have never felt compelled to write a bad review, but felt it a dis-service to possible future guests to not try to steer them away from this nasty place! Checked out and went next door to a very nice property that opened recently and get this- it ended up being $10 cheaper!
- William (10/5): Excellent Customer Service - We had a great stay, and the staff went out of their way to help with a check-in problem due to a third party. Stellar customer service and would recommend staying here 10/10.
- 26maxk (2/5): Not worth it. - Possibly the worst stay at a hotel ever. Water damage in the hallway, requiring constant box fans running, no Kleenex in the bathroom, crusty toilet paper with a dirty plunger adorned next to the toilet. Instructions on how to flush the toilet in improper English rather than fixing the toilet was a nice touch. Also mismatched paint all over the place. What I assume to be the proprietor was lounging around the lobby with no shoes on; on the phone constantly disregarding the needs of guests. not quite what I expected from Choice hotels or the Radisson brand. I would steer clear of this one.
- Flinhart (2/5): Online hotel reservation SCAM ... - This is a difficult review to write - as I believe I was the victim of a scam. I was in a town 30 miles away, trying to get a hotel room. I called one hotel directly - and was told that there was no room available at that hotel or the other hotel in town. The person on the phone offered to help me find a room. I was transferred to a new person. (I mistakenly did NOT ask where the call was being transferred to.) I was told that a room was available at the Country Inn and gave my credit card information to reserve the room. When I arrived at the Country Inn, I found out that their regular rate was $60 LESS than what I was billed. I asked to be reimbursed, and the hotel showed me that the company making the reservation had paid - with their credit card - the cheaper rate. This meant that the company HotelBeds.com charged me $60.
The hotel apologized, telling me there was nothing they could do, since they had received and processed HotelBeds payment.
The hotel was mixed - "under construction," with no elevator. The hallway carpets were dirty. The room was small, with mismatched furniture. The breakfast buffet was pretty good.
- citygal07 (6/5): Okay 2-star hotel. Poor 3-star hotel. - This should be a 2-star hotel and not a 3-star hotel and then expectations would be aligned with reality. Staff was friendly but gave me what was likely the worst room in the hotel--- I was close to lobby, vending, doors and heard every single noise the in corridor. Comforter is the thinnest I've ever encountered in a hotel. Not the worst stay I've ever had, but my expectations were much higher given the 3-star rating and reviews on google, which are more positive than I'd expect.
- CBee913 (10/5): Dontcha know - Kind, welcoming and clean.
Quiet.
Breakfast, amazing.
The new pool looks absolutely amazing wish we had a longer stay to swim!
- lisabT8667CK (2/5): Not pet friendly - They don’t tell you this in advance but there is a sign upon check in that dogs left unattended for any period of time in hotel room will be $100 fee per incidence. Not able to use amenities if travelling alone. Should be disclosed more readily.
- S8691SBdeanb (10/5): Visiting homr - Very clean place. Good hot breakfast buffet. Convenient location to town. Extremely quiet. Not the newest place in town but reasonably priced.
- RoadGuys2 (8/5): Great staff - good stay. - Property is getting a bit wore down - or in the process of getting "turned around". The auto door didn't work and there were plenty of scratches and dings visible in most common areas. Our rooms however, appeared to be in pretty good shape. Very comfortable.
Ample breakfast with hot protein options as well as the continental stuff. The pool area was in very good shape. Its clean, the water is clean and there were plenty of towels. Best part was the owners / staff. These were the nicest people, so accommodating, welcoming and friendly. Would recommend to my friends and would stay here again if I'm in the area.
- JamRanchDoxies (10/5): Friendly staff everywhere. - The front desk, the breakfast staff, the grounds keepers and the maids all have amazing personalities and have made me feel welcome. At night time it was so very quiet here I was impressed with how quiet it was(I had surgery and am recovering here because I have 4 flights of stairs and a lot of dogs in my house.I was up until 5am (my ankle hurt) and so I counted the times I heard people from 9 pm until 5 am. Three times, I heard people ONLY 3 times and the hotel is packed. They accommodate and love dogs at this property I love the big area behind the hotel for the dogs to run and play. The room is a bit dated but for the price it’s worth it. I’m not one to complain but I know some people do. I worked for Wyndham hotels for 10 years and I had a lady call upset that the shower curtain white was different than the toilet white, so if you’re a Karen like that maybe this hotel won’t be up to your standards. The beds and pillows are comfy. The breakfast Omelettes, bacon and waffles were delicious. Very good stay so far and I have 2 more nights to go. :)
- aaronvY7918CZ (4/5): Over priced by a lot I do not recommend - Definitely overpriced probably won’t stay there again pool closed hot tub closed breakfast closed before time posted rooms not the cleanest when I made a reservation it definitely looks a lot better online wouldn’t of complained if the price was lower
- Rachael (6/5): Ok for price - Kids were very disappointed that the pool was closed for maintenance over Memorial Day weekend. That was one of the main reasons for picking the hotel. The hotel is definitely older and in need of some repairs, but it was decent for the price. Front desk staff was not professional at all but got the job done I guess.
- amandalong51 (2/5): Do Not Recommend - Do. Not. Recommend.
1. Room was restocked, beds made, but nothing was actually cleaned.
- toilet was dirty, bathroom floor was full of debris, closed the bathroom door and found a broken utensil and smeared piece of cake/cupcake smushed. Clearly the floor wasn’t cleaned. My daughter showered- tub drains incredibly slow- nasty! Also, other guests garbage was found under the table…
2. Smoke detector in our room and our neighbors room didn’t have batteries in them.
3. Upon entering our room, immediate stench of cigarette smoke- in a non smoking hotel, #2 makes sense 🙄
4. Got to the pool, hot tub doesn’t work, a post 3 weeks prior to this, another guest commented the hot tub didn’t work also…… and, at minimum, a courtesy sign should have been posted.
5. The pool room is HOT and HUMID AF, there’s NO airflow, there are two fans, but they don’t work either.
6. Pool water doesn’t smell chlorinated like other hotels I’ve been to, and I’ve been to a lot- also, the water is murky/dirty looking- pool care is to be done DAILY, I know this from experience.
7. Outlets in our room, DONT WORK!!!!!!
8. The employees, they’re kind, but unprofessional. There was a baby here with the evening staff- when the employee was running to get things, baby was left unattended in plain sight. A baby was also asleep in a car set behind the counter- I’m a mother of 3, I get times are tough but this is no environment for a baby.
9. There was no rollaways, so I asked for a thick blanket, they were all out. No bath towels were clean for trade in, and there was no freaking pool towels. We’re here with many families for a wrestling tournament- they should have been on top of it and better prepared.
10. Breakfast was an absolute nightmare. Cereal and bagels were provided- it was set up for hot food, but NO hot food was out. Apparently staff didn’t make enough and didn’t keep up..
Frankly, based on 1-9, idk the food would even be safe to eat… seriously.
It was not a great experience. It has been our worst. A family was caught up at the desk asking for a refund, they said “we’re not staying here, we will stay anywhere else” how sad.
I really wish this was an “off” weekend, but based on previous review- it’s not.
This hotel needs some serious help. Training needs to be redone. Priorities need to be reevaluated. Things need to be maintained. I strongly recommend someone come out to inspect, health and safety, a higher up/management level person, someone needs to do something.
I do not recommend this hotel. This was a waste of money and I’m one of several parents /guests that are severely disgusted and disappointed. I will be reaching out to management at a higher level to address my concerns!
- aprilz815 (2/5): Dishonest staff - Stay with a school group and one of the kids left a bag with headphones in the room. I called 20 minutes after we checked out to let them know. Was told they hadn’t cleaned the room yet but she would go look. She took my number down and never called back. I called a few hours later as we would be heading back through and could pick them up on our way back. Talked to the same lady but she wad rude this time and said nobody had brought them to the front desk yet. I know they were left there so clearly someone took them. Had I known they would be so dishonest I would have drove back right away.
Also, waited 15 minutes for eggs, sausages, and potatoes to be told it would be another 10 minutes. How long does it take to heat that up?
The pool and hot tub were also down (not that I planned on using them) and you could smell the chemicals on the towels and bedding.
Needless to say, I do not recommend and was VERY disappointed for $136 for one night.
- bobbM3169VS (2/5): TERRIBLE - I personally worked here, and I would only recommend it if you don’t care that there’s a possible chance that your room was cleaned by some workers who dont vacuum but instead picks up anything visible to the eye, wipes crumbs off unused beds, doesn’t wipe everything down if it looks clean enough.. i mean the list goes on.
- mollypP5391XA (2/5): Unless you like mold and filth, stay away - Left within 20 minutes of checking in. Mold and dead bugs around the windows, dead bugs on the floor, tv and ice machine didn’t work, used coffee filter left in my in laws room, and hotel staff was extremely unprofessional (one had her 2 kids with).
It started with me calling to see if the rooms were ready early. Both calls I made went unanswered, so we stopped in instead. The worker was dressed extremely inappropriately and looked very unkempt - bad first impression, but whatever. She ‘didn’t know where’ the cleaning staff was, so couldn’t tell me if the rooms were ready yet. We came back later to be greeted by a different staff member with her 2 children behind the desk. Again, I can look past that. Got to our room, started to get settled (once we got around the cleaning cart parked in the middle of the hallway and the dirty rags left on the floor), and noticed there were dead bugs on the floor. My husband went to get ice and check if the pool was full. The ice machine didn’t work, and while he was gone we attempted to turn on the tv. That also didn’t work at all. We opened the shades and noticed more dead bugs and MOLD on the windows, and that was the final straw. We told them we were leaving and were met with unsurprised faces with no apologies and not a care from either the person working the desk or the other staff member who must have been more of a manager as she was seeking guidance on what to do with our reservation. My in laws stayed for some reason, but I was told that my mother in laws room had the used filter still in the coffee pot and a family friend that was with had a room with the dead bugs and mold as well. There was garbage all around the ground outside (and inside), and some shady events happening in the parking lot. We simply were not comfortable having our family stay there.
- R4643OPpaulab (2/5): Don't bother - To start with arriving and a young guy in a hoodie smoking blocking the front door. Turns out that's the front desk attendant. Asked if I was checking in and I jokingly said don't let me stop you as I went inside, so he stayed out there smoking. Checked in without much of a word said. Got to my room and was immediately regretful of my decision to stay. Carpet is ripped up anywhere it meets the tile. Stained and gross as well. You can tell attempts are made at upgrades like bathroom vanity and other furniture but the rest of the room is old and dated and worn. The toilet tank lid was not the right lid so it's a different shape sitting on top of tank. Then the decorative plunger next to it with a plastic bag marked Mens on it was just disgusting. The towel rack was also improperly installed and starting to comenoff the wall and bent from wait of towels. The absolute worst bed I've ever slept in. With 4 tiny little pillow for a king bed that were so worn out and flat I woke up with the worst headache. I travel for work frequently and this has got to be the worst experience yet. Not staying my second night I booked and going next door to the new Best Western Plus. I should have read more reviews. Don't be fooled by pics of one room they took pics of.
- mstraveler129 (6/5): Not worth the price… - VERY small room!! Everything was clean, but our room with a king bed was VERY small with very cheap furniture. There was only one nightstand by one side of the bed. Thankfully, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was fine. However, think the accommodations overall were not worth the cost.
- Kristina (4/5): - Very uncomfortable beds, I needed to see a chiropractor after my visit. Unfinished construction and repairs throughout the building. Hot tub was out of order, which was one of the main reasons i had chosen this hotel in the first place. Staff was friendly, but unfortunately have to deal with crabby customers due to their terrible experiences.
Will NOT stay here again.
- Caylin (6/5): - We did not realize the property was under construction. One of the locks on our door was broken. The hot tub was broken. The pool was nice. Breakfast the first morning was disappointing as there was very little to choose from so we had cereal. It was better the next day. The staff were friendly but would disappear from the front desk for long periods of time.
- 76LisaW (10/5): Great stay! Great staff! - This hotel is very clean. The room we had was adequate and was quiet and comfortable. The breakfast was very good and unexpected for a hotel breakfast. We had eggs, potatoes, a Mexican type casserole and some awesome sausage links. Toast was also available and juice. Also, one of the best cups of coffee I have ever had. I got the gourmet coffee. So good! The staff gets 5 stars for being courteous, friendly and welcoming! If we are in this area again, we will stay here for sure.
- Tia (10/5): Hotel to return to :) - The breakfast selection was incredible & had choices for everyone! I'll be booking again just for the breakfast! The service checking in was kind, welcoming and feiendly; despite the system used and lack in training, we had a pleasant experience. I absolutely loved the decor for halloween & the treats available :D Unfortunately, the hot tub was out of order, which was the original reason we booked this specific hotel.
- Mark (6/5): - The room smelled like an old hotel, musty. New paint & newish carpet. Bathrooms need to be gutted & renewed with showers. The shower head reminded me of my parents house in the 1980's. Towels were all old & worn. Windows are not very secure. Free breakfast was good. Lobby is worn out, old & cramped.
- Melinda (10/5): - I really enjoy the excellent customer service. Very friendly and accommodating.
- Chris (6/5): - The outside of the property looks like it hasn't had any maintenance for years. Weeds, overgrown shrubs, and a dirty and broken entry door. Not a great first impression.
Pretty standard room, a bit older with well-worn walls with gouges and scrapes.
Cheaper rates it shows.
- Heidi (10/5): Hotel stay - I had a great stay. The outside wasn’t inviting but the the inside was nice. Polite staff. Best breakfast I’ve had great selection. Definitely will stay here again!
- Jason lind (2/5): Don’t stay at this hotel - Charged an extra $100 garbage all over ashtrays were over filled
- daniel (8/5): - Wonderful people
Place is not brand new but was just fine and a wonderful value
Had our little Chi Dog who loved it and didn’t cost a dime more to have a dog in the room
Again good staff !!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - This hotel is in need of updating. Service at the front desk wasn't ideal. Had to wait for someone to appear at the desk. Apparently new billing system and employees were having trouble checking people in, etc. Location was good.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Only Ok - Not the cleanest, looked run down. Room was decent, nothing special. TV kept reverting the input whenever you would turn it off, so next time it was turn on, you had to switch the input to get the Direct TV up and working. Nearby Hotel Chains looked much better. Very hard to turn into coming from the south. Breakfast was very good though, poll area was pretty nice
- Kcarie (6/5): - The carpet in our room was very worn and dingy looking. Not nice to walk on barefoot. The breakfast was not maintained in any way. At 9 am when we went to the breakfast all of the serving dishes were empty. The juice machine was only giving water. The staff were not recognizable by any sort of dress or nameplate.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Okay for the cost - Breakfast was awesome 😊. Internet did not work. Rooms were very clean but humid, clothes felt damp from the humidity. Air conditioning didnt remive the dampness unfortunately
- Teresa (4/5): Disappointed - We were not real happy. When got to our room, tv didn't work. Phone didn't have a cord to call front desk. The shower head was broken, or unable to move because it was coming out of wall. The air didn't work correctly.
- Jerry and Naomi (6/5): - The carpeting in our room was very dirty and the water was very slow at draining when taking a shower.
- Susanne (4/5): - Hot tub dirty, scummy, dark
- Ericka (6/5): would stay again, but could use some small changes - we had a good stay! beds were alright, pillows too, pretty clean
room was pretty small, not much room to walk around the end of the beds. baby crawling on the floor ended up with pretty dirty feet, so carpet probably needs cleaning. there was a wet odor when we entered the room as well. just smelled like a hotel with a pool tho, and we didnt notice it when we were in the room. the ac/heater was not able to work very well, it seemed like it couldnt keep the room cool or at times was too cool. but the worst was the entrace and exit road - it goes right onto the main drive, just before a light, which is really hard to get in and out of! it should come out AT the light, instead of just before it. to make a left into the hotel, there is no left turn lane and it ends up being in the way of the left turn lane going the other way. so definitely the entrace needs to move.
- Kristi (10/5): - It waa a nice stay and a fabulous breakfast!
- Michael (8/5): Not fancy, but an ok over nighter. - Nice place to stay for a night or two, friendly staff, dog friendly. Need some updates and maintenance both inside and outside the rooms.
- Jonathan (10/5): - Pet policy and place to walk pet.
- David (8/5): Good clean basic stay - The room was very clean, staff was friendly, breakfast much better than I expected. The smell of chlorine humidity from the pool was evident in most public place, but not in the actual room. I would certainly stay here again.
- James (8/5): - Quiet room and nice breakfast area.
- David (6/5): - Was suspicious of the cleanliness when we arrived to find toilet paper and debris on the bathroom floor. Then shut the bathroom door and there were dirty towels hanging on the hook. The bed was horrible; soft and saggy. The one redeeming factor was the breakfast. Coffee was good and they had a nice variety of food.
- Brittany (10/5): - I always stay at this location because the staff is beyond friendly and kind
- Nancy (6/5): - You can tell the carpets in the hallway and rooms were old. Our room smelt damp and it looks like owners don’t care about the place. The staff were amazing!!
- Craig (4/5): - We tried to check in 30 minutes early, front desk staff was rude about in checking early. I understand if you can’t check in, but be courteous shout it.
Everytime we went in and out of the building you get smacked in the face with cigarette smoke. Staff and guests are near the front doors smoking. At the time of our stay, front desk staff were especially unfriendly.
The carpeting in the rooms were disgusting. I did not dare take my shoes off. There were Spots and stains everywhere, it looks and feels dirty. When i did take my shoes off, it felt damp. The bed felt damp. The room smells musty. The pillows and the bed are uncomfortable, but i didn’t expect them to be.
This is on our list of top crappy hotels.
- johnbA4842KH (6/5): Overpriced and doesn’t live up to the reviews and photos - The room was clean and there had been some updating to the room and public areas, but overall it was worn. The towels were clean but dingy and unraveling. The pool and hot tub were not at all clean. The hot tub only had 2 jets that were working and they weren’t operating at full force. The breakfast was not as good as other hotels that offer included breakfasts. It seemed to cater to construction crews so there were men loitering around. This may be a concern for you if you are a woman traveling alone. It was definitely overpriced for what it was.
- Steve (2/5): - I waited at the front desk for over 30 minutes for someone to show up and check me in. The carpet in my room was wet and squishy. The internet was unavailable. When I called the front desk - nobody asnwered. This property looks and feels ancient. I'd never stay here again, I would tell people not to stay here,
- Robert (8/5): - Clean and comfortable but the fridge wasn't cold and the property had no functioning ice machines. Two machines but neither worked.
- Micheal A M (10/5): - While traveling we found ourselves needing a room for the night and were happy this property had one. Just right for us.
