Guest Reviews
- Janet (8/5): - The rooms were lovely and comfortable. Great bed. You are in a great area for restaurants and the Diocletian Palace. We enjoyed a glass of wine on the rooftop terrace.
I would suggest adding into the hotel description that it’s in the 5 th floor with no elevator We have some physical issues and the stairs were challenging. We would have chosen another location if we had known. But otherwise great.
- LAURA (2/5): - Incredibly hot
- Gina (10/5): - This location is right outside the Palace but in a plaza attached to it, making it quieter than some hotels inside the palace. The communication with the staff was great, even though there wasn’t anyone onsite. It was clean, comfortable and just what I was needing.
- Guyda (10/5): - Be sure you can climb stairs.
- Emy (10/5): - Everything was perfect for us. Please note that this hotel is not for a person who can’t walk up 5 floors of stairs. The only thing that might need some approvements would be the cleanness of the staircases that leads to the hotel. If not, perfect location for everything. Very nice rooftop! : )
- alicia (10/5): - The only issue is it is 4 flight of stairs up… with no elevator. But if you are up for the workout, it is absolutely lovely, stylish, comfortable and super!
- Branka (10/5): - Perfect vacation
- Florian (6/5): - Its an Apartment, which has 4 Rooms, Not Like a Hotel
- Haejin (8/5): - The rooms were clean and very well appointed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only thing is that we had to walk up 4 flights of stairs with our bags. But overall a lovely place and the location is FANTASTIC! right next to Diocletian's Palace. It was so convenient. I would recommend.
- Xilun (10/5): - Great location next to ancient roman square
- Don (4/5): - We had just come off an 8 day river cruise & did not receive our room access code. Took awhile to receive it as no one was in reception. This Hotel does not have an elevator! Our rooms were on the top floor which entailed a 92 stair step slog with luggage to our room. This Hotel is definitely not suitable for all people because of the climb.
- Cesar (2/5): - It's really not a hotel . four rooms in a Filthy building in top of a Bar.....NO ELEVATORS!!!!!
Only in Russia we had a similar experience, we lost all the
money and left without using the accommodations, went
to the Ambassador around the corner and had a great time
- Carrie (10/5): - This property is in the heart of Old Town Split with an amazing roof top view. Lovely rooms and driver met us at the airport. Host very responsive to all our inquiries. We highly recommend this place if you want to be in the center of beautiful Split and right near the Promenade.
- Lauren (10/5): - The place was great! Very clean and the rooftop was AWESOME.
- Samantha (10/5): - Staff where very prompt with replies, offered transport for a convenient price, lovely in person and the room was fantastic with air conditioning on constantly which was a huge plus for the hot summer days. Would come back anytime
- Eliot (10/5): A new hotel in Split - This is a brand new real nice hotel located just outside Diocletian’s palace. There is one drawback, however. It is on the fourth floor ( fifth floor to Americans) and unless the woman running the hotel is there, you must haul your luggage up yourself. Still, it is a good place to stay.
- Kristi (10/5): Highly recommend! - We cannot recommend Bajamonti 5 enough! The location is right in the heart of Split so it is convenient to most popular attractions. The host is absolutely wonderful and she was very prompt with any inquiries or requests. The accommodations are clean and well-kept. The only challenge for some guests is that the rooms are all up 4 flights of stairs with no elevator but the climb is worth it. We even had the beautiful rooftop patio to ourselves a couple of evenings and it was a perfect place to enjoy the evening after sightseeing all day.
- Augusto (10/5): - Excellent location, very helpful staff
- Laura (10/5): - We were on the 5th floor and no elevator so the climb was not fun, but the place was great, staff was nelpful and friendly.
- Victor (10/5): - Very nice
- Marta (8/5): - The only reason why we scored it 4/5 was due to the lack of milk, sugar and toiletries. Our room had a lovely coffee machine with pods provided every morning and a kettle with tea bags but no milk or sugar. There was no toiletries which is a minor issue but we haven't packed any shower gel meaning we had to go out and buy one. Apart from that the room was beautiful. Clean, nice views and air con. The terrace was definitely a highlight too, we've spend almost every night there. The rooms are located on the 4th floor but that didn't bother us too much. Overall, would recommend and would stay there again.
- Karlyn (8/5): - It was a lovely room with a very comfortable bed. Unfortunately, it's on the 4th floor with no elevator so be prepared to carry luggage all the way up. Rebecca was very helpful and made us a reservation for dinner which was excellent. This is not a full service hotel/guest house though.
- Rabih (2/5): - Very bad listing by both the property owner and Expedia. This is not a hotel to start, rooms on the 4th floor with no elevator plus the coffee cups were dirty, not cleaned after the last guest and I took photos. I was lucky to find street parking nearby
I must have a compensation
- Ana (10/5): - Rebecca is a great host!! She was really an excellent person.
- Ashley (10/5): - This is truly an amazing property! Right in the heart of Split and very clean and beautiful rooms. Also Marko who came to pick us up from the airport was great.
- Peter Kim (8/5): Hotel med perfekt placering og meget fin service - Perfekt placering i midten af Split. Dejligt værelse og rigtig fin service. Lidt besværligt med at hotellet findes på 4. sal uden elevator.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Petra was very friendly and helpful - great location - high enough to avoid noise - we enjoyed our stay!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hotel - Everything was perfect
- Lily (10/5): - Hotel is located about 5 min walking distance from the walls. Rooms are beautifully decorated and have all needed amenities. There are a few restaurants in the square right outside. Only downside are the number of steps needed to get to the hotel, since it’s located in the fifth floor and there is no elevator. Other than that, we absolutely loved our stay. Petra (the manager) is great too! Be sure to book your hotel transfer through the hotel...our group consisted of 4 people so they sent a van to pick us up...only cost 50€ and they help you take your luggage upstairs.
- Janette (10/5): - The location on this property is perfect. Far away enough from the noisy activities inside the city walls yet close enough to get to anything within a short walk. There are many stairs as this property is located on the 5th floor but it is totally worth it. Petra and her staff were absolutely kind. We set up transportation to and from the airport and it was totally worth it!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Petra was superb. She went out of her way to look after us, She will not let you down.
- Michael (10/5): - Excellent. Beautiful property, delightful staff. Top notch.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Petra was very helpful and accommodating.
Rooftop was absolutely lovely!
Room was cozy.
Car service associated with the hotel picked us up at the airport, walked us to the hotel and carried both of our bags up the stairs to our room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Split - Bra hotell i bra läge.
- RHB460 (8/5): - Great location and friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were very nice and accurately depicted on web site. The hotel set up our car ride from the airport which made the trip very easy and they were ready with an early check in. I’d definitely stay here again.
- Tim (10/5): FABULOUS stay! - Stayed at the Bajamonti last year and HAD to stay again this year on a trip to Split. This is a FABULOUS property, completely renovated with brand new everything, wonderful location and incredible staff. Could not recommend more highly!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing location, staff and room - Hotel is on a great location, the staff where fantastic, could recommend it more, Petra was amazing,
The only comment was the Air con seamed to be centrally controlled so could get the room as cold as i wanted
- Kathryn (10/5): Lovely accommodation near to historic centre - Very convenient location for sightseeing, bars and restaurants and the ferries. Clean and modern room. Very friendly helpful staff. Good breakfast, option to take in restaurant on square or on rooftop terrace. Transfer from airport arranged.
- Anna (6/5): - no lifts - had to carry luggage myself up 4 sets of stairs- bathroom is old ///. Would I stay there again - NO
- Lori (10/5): Great hotel and location!! - You simply can't beat the location of Bajamonte 5. It's located in the heart of things and walking distance to everything.
The bonus to the accommodations is Petra - she is concierge, waitress, travel agent, house keeper - she is everything and is available 24/7.
The room was extremely clean - on the smaller side but still plenty of room. The bathroom was nice with a great rain shower. Wifi was great and the TV had full English channels, which was very much appreciated.
If you have a car... parking is very limited. Petra secured parking for us in a safe and private lot very close to the hotel for an additional $20 per day.
The main thing to be aware of ...if you are elderly or disabled is .. the rooms are on the 5th floor and there is not an elevator. If you are not in a position to climb stairs... this stay could be a challenge.
The air conditioner worked fantastically and it does NOT shut off when you take your key to leave on outings. You always come back to a nice cool room of your own temp setting.
Of great importance to us.... this room was extremely quiet and you could close the wooden shutters along with the blackout curtains for extra darkness. Quiet, cool, and dark makes excellent sleeping conditions. The bed was a nice king sized bed with moderate firmness. I was personally glad it wasn't hard as rock.
Hands down, I can highly recommend this hotel. I would definitely stay here again.
- Ann (10/5): First Trip to Split, Croatia - Wonderful place to stay in Split. Comfortable, quiet, yet great location around the corner from the Riva. Petra and Marko were fabulous and incredibly helpful with local matters from restaurants to transportation. Very available and responsive. A delight. There are lots of stairs which were no problem for us, but caution for those less mobile. We did breakfast on the roof one day. Lovely.
- Tonya (10/5): Excellent location and quality - Located near everything and very clean and comfortable. I’m super picky with hotels and this is top notch. The owner Petra literally responded to any request or text within 30 seconds. Yes, you get to climb some stairs to your lovely room but that means you can eat more yummy Croatian food to make up for the extra work. This hotel only has five rooms so don’t wait to reserve one of them!
- Pam (10/5): Rest & relaxation with friends
- This "hotel" is in the heart of the city. The view on top is a nice way to see the city and enjoy happy hour or breakfast. The staff is extremely accommodating and friendly. Room was very comfortable and quiet.
- Nicole (10/5): Great small hotel in central Split - The 5 rooms at Bajmonti are of very high quality and all of the furnishings are beautiful. Communication with the hotel was good and we enjoyed breakfast on the terrace. There are a lot of stairs, so please be aware of this before you book. Ideally located for the town. Overall a great stay.
- Yi (10/5): Excellent - It's very nice! Location is good. They even helped us with carrying luggage up to the room. There is a rooftop area with a very nice view. Be sure to check it out if you stay here!
- Hillary (10/5): A Gem in Split - Really lovely hotel located near Diocletian's palace-- it's in a lovely little square that's about a 10 minute walk from the ferry terminal.
The manager, Petra, was very welcoming and helpful, and the rooms are gorgeous. Breakfast was included in our stay and it was served in a delightful little restaurant right outside-- seriously no better way to start the morning. There's also a lovely roof terrace where we watched the sunset.
I'd highly recommend staying here- it's a small boutique hotel so you definitely get a little extra attention.
One thing to note-- it is located up several flights of stairs-- so if you have mobility issues that may be something to consider. But Petra and the owner of another boutique in the building helped us up with our bags, so it really wasn't that challenging.
- Jan (10/5): The staff was very accommodating and friendly! - We arrived late because our plane was delayed and they still were very nice about picking us up at the airport.
- John (6/5): No elevator - This is a really nice hotel with a superb location right on the Riva. Room was small but well appointed. Staff very helpful. The breakfast was supplied by the neighbouring restaurant of the same name and was great. The only drawback for us was the lack of an elevator. It is a heritage building and elevators are not allowed. Four floors (full floors - 10 stairs, landing, another 10 stairs = 1 floor) We are in reasonably good shape for 60's but with 15kg bags it was a bummer.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect location coupled with a beautiful hotel - The hotel was a boutique type hotel in the best part of Split. The rooms are so cute, very clean and the customer service from the front desk to cleaning was amazing. My boyfriend and I loved it there and would highly recommend it. We will certainly be returning there!
- Lisa (10/5): Cute, Comfy Hotel - My husband and I had a wondeful stay at this hotel. Super friendly and helpful staff. The room is so cute and comfy. Roof top terrace with beautiful views of city. Walking distance to attractions and good food. Would definitely stay here again!
- Verified traveler (8/5): center, - very clean , nice room the only think is on the 4th floor and no lift! good exercise !!!
- Peter (10/5): Excellent location with outstanding service - The location couldn't be more central and the personal service provided by Petra was unbelievable.... not only did she provide home made cakes but greated my wife with a G&T after a long day out. The rooms are modern clean and excellent value for money with the only consideration being there is no lift and a number of stairs. Breakfast is provided in the square with a view of the sea
- KAIRAN (10/5): - This boutique hotel is located in the best location you can find in Split. On top of that, the staff was super friendly and helpful. Petra, the receptionist, went out of her way to help me when my flight was delayed and arrived past midnight (reception office is supposed to close at 9pm but she made sure I would be taken care of upon arrival and waited until I got there). She was also super helpful with giving tips on what to do in Split and which travel agency to choose for group tours.
The room was very clean - not a big room so best for people who travel light. The amenities are great - I loved the shampoo and body lotion (seem to be an artisan Croatian brand).
I highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Split, and would definitely book again myself if I go back.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Wrong room - Hi a very nice place with lovely staff but I specifically booked and paid for a room with a bathtub and did not get it
I was to tired on arrival to make a big deal about it but do feel like I am owed the back the extra money I spent
What is frustrating is that on leaving I saw the room I booked was unoccupied
I think the problem might be Expedia and not the hotel
