Guest Reviews
- Margaret (10/5): - Loved this cute cottage
- gary (8/5): One day trip - No staff you had to call in to notify them your here and do everything over the phone
- Eva (10/5): - Adorable little cottage perfect for 1-2. I was traveling alone (44, f) and felt safe and comfortable. Very clean and impeccably updated and decorated. Would stay again if I’m ever in Joplin.
- Michelle (6/5): - Was a cute place, but needs some deep cleaning, and mattress on bed was very uncomfortable, the coils are all smashed in the middle. Needs replaced!
- Charlotte (8/5): - The room was uniquely decorated w/ comfortable bed and good sized bathroom. a hair dryer in the bathroom would be nice.
- Karen (10/5): - Fun decor. Nice place to stay.
- Tom (10/5): - Nice cozy little rooms. They do need to clean the lounge chair in the room. Especially under the cushion.
- Jodi (2/5): - Too small
- Patricia (10/5): - Room was small but fine for just myself. Although close to a major street, it was out of town and very quiet. Seperate cabins also cut down on noise. Staff was great and very helpful. Would stay there again.
- anna (10/5): - The room was everything you could need. Clean, comfy, HOT shower, coffe maker that brewed more than just a pods worth, Air conditioning or a fan, the choice was yours, kept the room cool. Easy convenient parking. And over the road, Babes a true pre-macdonalds burger and malt place.
Had a great time all round, thank you.
- Bob (10/5): - It was just what my wife & I was looking for! A trip back in time. Very clean and the staff was great (just not on site). Parking was right at the unit. No pool or other things you normally have at a hotel. However, that is what makes it special. If I'm in the area I would stay there again.
- Josie (2/5): - I never checked in to this reservation. I would like to get refund.
- Steve (10/5): - Great stay, really appreciate the nostalgia, and uniqueness.
- Sabrina (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay so much. It was peaceful and relaxing.
- julie (10/5): Overall pleased - Coffee maker did not work.😟. Bed was worn out. Too soft. Stayed as a couple and continuously rolled into each other. It was cute. Overall very pleased.
- Marcella (6/5): - This is one of the cheapest places to stay in the area. That was a plus. Check in was easy, communication was great until check in. After check in the person stopped responding to my texts but I didn't need anything so not a huge deal. I wanted to stay longer as the room was unique, comfortable, and cheap. However, it was not clean. At first glace it was but during the night I had 3 bugs get on me, the corners of the room and walls were dirty. The AC had dust/mildew on the vent. The last straw was when I dropped the soap near the toilet. I picked it up and it had bits of hair from some guy shaving on it and was dirty.
For the price, it is about what I expected but the soap incident gave me too much ick and instead of extending my stay I went to a more typical hotel. $20 more/night but no bugs or chin hairs. Also I was uncomfortable walking in my barefeet. The floor felt like it had some kind of reside on it. Not sticky so I just assumed it's something that they mopped with but contributed to the ick factor.
- Emily (10/5): Comfy and pretty - It was so lovely and clean. The AC worked well and bed was so comfy. Check in was quick and easy. We had heard good things from friends and we would come back.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Such a nice place. The decor was so charming
- Joel (10/5): - Nice little room for the night. Odd bathroom light switch placement but cozy and nice. Thank you!
- Cassandra (8/5): - We thought this was a nicely decorated room. It was clean except the carpet would make your feet very dirty.
- Jason (10/5): - Cozy spot to just lay your head down! Everything I needed so I didn’t have to sleep in my car!! Decors are beautiful and made me feel at home without a wife. Wish my stay was happier. My kiddo/ bff turned 18 and well.. met half way with his father.. regardless that I tossed and turned due to stress and loss. This place is cozy and beds are soft and everything you need. Thank you West Port Inn. I’ll stay with you again and forever when meeting my son half way. Thank you
- Dana (10/5): - We jumped over rocks and had fun.
- Victoria (10/5): - The cabin was really small but beautifully decorated. We were comfortable and so cozy. The shower head was like needles coming out at you but loved our stay.
- Javier (8/5): Internet was rough - Honestly not to picky of a guy just looking for somewhere to rest my head easy going. I have had a great experience here my 1 thing is the internet it will just drop multiple times in a morning and be off for the most 5 min but everything else perfect.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Meet my expectation - I was nervous when read the reviews but it turned out better than what I expected. On the way getting there, I called the Westport Inn then a recorded message told me to send a text message and I did. I received a promptly room access code via text. The atmosphere was pleasant in a large land and trees, clean standard room which worth with the price I paid. I just need a place to rest over nights while attending the conference 'Marian Days'. I plan to stay here again next Marian Days. Thanks Westport Inn for your hospitality!
- Barry (10/5): - Surprisingly nice after the area I drove through. I'd definitely stay again.
- Mitch (10/5): - Awesome spot!!
- Russell (8/5): - We have stayed there before and enjoyed our stay. Maybe I’m just getting older but the cabin we stayed in this time seemed very small and cramped!
We will stay there again because it’s so user friendly.
- Phillip (8/5): Nice weekend stay - We booked a room at the Westport Inn back in May for our pilgrimage trip to Carthage, Missouri, it was the last room available. Based on the photos online, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but to my surprise, it turned out better than I anticipated. They sent the room number and door lock code via text, and we had no trouble accessing the room. Although it was small, it had everything we needed for a weekend stay in Joplin. The room included a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker, which was convenient. I especially liked the cozy decor, it gave the space a warm, welcoming feel. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and we’d definitely love to return next year for our annual pilgrimage to Carthage.
- Thu Nga Thi (10/5): - It was a pleasant surprise as the room was small but very cozy and clean. The surrounding area was quiet and service was great as they provided me promptly what I asked for after checking in. The check in instructions was sent to me prior to my arrival which was very convenient.
I will definitely stay again and love to recommend it to everyone.
- Josefa (8/5): - We liked the unit that we stayed in; it was clean and had some interesting (local) racing memorabilia inside. Our unit had a keypad lock on the door. The location is easy to get to if you get off Main St. exit from I-44 and drive north down the road.
- Dr. Maliheh (2/5): - Very old and very small!!
- Maliheh (2/5): - Small and niosy
- Jill (6/5): Cute but felt dirty - The place was super cute. My issues were that there was no front office staff. Everything had to go through calling or texting. The AC wasn’t working properly and the reception on the phone told me it should, and never followed up with me. Then there were hairs in the bed and the comforter looks like it was never washed. So I couldn’t sleep well there thinking I was sleeping in a dirty bed.
- Amy (10/5): - I stayed in one of these cabins back many years ago and it’s so much nicer now.
- Courtney (10/5): - This is a great place to stay!
- Ethan (10/5): - It was nice
- Alyssa (10/5): - Beautiful unit...wish we could have stayed longer!
- Destiny (2/5): Don’t waste your money. - The worst experience I’ve had. We were locked out of our room. Called over 30 times. Texted. Left voicemails. Started calling off of my husbands phone. NOTHING. Ended up having to call the non emergency line. Slept in our car until 2am. The next morning all we received was a text saying sorry. The cop said “this isn’t the first time”
- Bob (2/5): - I will never know how the rooms are. The property representative was not available for check in and never responded to my calls or texts. The Expedia rep blamed me for not contacting the property “24 hours” before check in as mentioned in special instructions. Ok, my mistake! Still, even Expedia was unable to reach the property! I had to book a room at a different motel. If there was a family emergency I understand, hopefully that wasn’t the case.
- Roy A (6/5): - Quaint nicely decorated cabins. Check in was difficult the office was closed. No instructions on the door. Had to call their phone number to find out which room and code- we should have been sent those instructions earlier in the day
- Robert (10/5): - I loved my stay here. It was very cozy and quiet. Will 100% stay here again if/when I’m back in town.
- Amanda (2/5): - The ac leaked the entire time we were there. We tried to contact them and they wouldn’t answer once they did their fix was to throw towels on top of it. And they never once came back in to change out the towels so then we were stepping on soaked towels…. I tried to contact them by email, text and phone and they NEVER answered and that was before we even got there the road noise was insane!!! This was my first and my last visit to Westport inn!!!
- ELIZABETH (8/5): - We stay here every time we go see our daughter and granddaughter’s. We won’t stay anywhere else.
- Burgundy (2/5): - They had double booked my stay and a man walked rigt into my room while inwas taking a nap. I was alone and that should have not happened. I wont be going back there
- Shena (4/5): Disgusting. Not ever cleaned, just bed made. - My first impression was CUTE!. Just big enough for solo traveler. I tried to unpack for my 3-nights. The hanging rod was 8 ft high so it couldn't be reached, no hangers. I had to pile my bags and clothing into the caaninet, unpacking each day. The microwave was filthy, nasty grease & grime. I used the bathroom and went to wash my hands and there was that pink slime around the drain...you know, the bacteria that grows from not being cleaned in months. I washed my hands, used the old ratty towel (did NOT smell bad at all, so that was nice), then I went to Walmart for cleaning supplies. I wiped the goo off the microwave, the cupboard door, the front door and handles, the bathroom toilet, there was "something" on toilet lid. Floors & shower slimy. I had to wash the moldy coffee pot and there was a TON of spilled coffee ON the coffee pot burner. The basket was moldy. Cleaning the pot and coffee maker took me 45 minutes. It obviously had never been cleaned between tenants. First night sleeping was hindered by heavy mold smell. I covered my face to sleep. The room does have a ceiling fan and a wall AC unit, both were ON upon arrival. Next day I turn AC off and mold smell was gone so I tried to sleep with no AC, just fan. At 2 am I was soaked in sweat. Fan was set WINTER mode, it was filthy so I had to clean it (at 2am) then flip switch, use lace curtain as filter on ac. Better. Cut my stay short, didn't stay even tho I paid for 3 nights. Shower curtain needs washed!
- ERIC (10/5): - The chevy hood for a headboard. Glade it wasn't a ford. Lol
- Ramon (10/5): - Clean, nice and neat rooms
- Waneta (6/5): disappointed - We checked in by phone, there was never anyone at the office during the hours posted on the door. I walked into a dirty room and was told that they would give us a discount but was charged full price. The TV sound did not go up and we were unable to hear news or anything we tried to watch. We had planned to pay cash at checkout but instead had to let it be charged to the card we had held the room on. I will not stay there again.
- Megann (2/5): - No one on property when I got there. Bed had hair in it as well as pub hair and hair in the shower
- Travis (10/5): - The cottage was cozy and the bed was super comfortable.
- Gina (10/5): - Cute cabins. Everything was clean, we would stay there again.
- Steve (6/5): - Unit 4 is nothing like the pictures. The unit was extremely small. The mattress is terrible. Lots of outside noise between 10:00pm-2:00am.
- Rebecca (8/5): - Very comfortable and clean place to stay in for our trip to Joplin.
- Amy (8/5): - The check in was easy, but that needs to be specied on the website that there is no one here and u have to text for an access code. There were also no towels supplied and only 1 wash cloth. Overall the place is clean and tidy and bed was comfy. Crack in the shower floor though that I wasn’t expecting so the shower floor gave a little.
- Thomas (2/5): - Terrible place
- Miguel (8/5): - It is a like a really nice hotel room without the hotel bldg. That is great!
- craig (10/5): - Cozy, good place for a night or two.
- Dale (2/5): - Unable to check in. Check-in desk door indicates they have no check-in times on Sundays.
Called, left message, texted, messaged in app, drivey around property, waited over an hour. Could not check in. Still no response even the next day.
- simon (10/5): - I was a bit apprehensive when I arrived as there is no front desk as such. I called the hotel number and within a minute or two I received a text with instructions and a PIN code for the door. Although the room was small it was very cosy and had everything you need. I really liked my stay here and would definitely stay again. Be sure to visit the food place next door, their burgers are the best I have ever had.
- ROMONA (2/5): - Terrible .
Made a reservation for 2 days and they never sent me a code or instructions to get into the cabin. I called, and left voicemail, texted and emailed several times and never got a reply back . I had to get a hotel room and also cancelled my bank card so the transaction wouldn’t go through !
- Rajeshkannan (6/5): - When I went there for check in front desk was closed. I had to call multiple times and left voice mails. After 20-25 mins I got a text with check in instructions. I was disappointed with service. The room is small. Two adults can stay.
- Pamala (10/5): - Rooms were superior.
- Pamala (10/5): - It was clean and gorgeous rooms!
- Matthew (10/5): - Very nice stay. Enjoyed it very much.
- Doreen (4/5): - No one was available for check in, a total fiasco. Smells of smoke in room and I was able to get a different room. No hairdryer. Shower curtain liner smelled and was filthy. I never even showered because it was so bad. No place to hang anything unless you are 6 feet. A truly horrible experience from the moment I arrived.
- Kristin L (2/5): - I checked in and within an hour of arriving i found a bed big in my cottage. I notified management immediately and text a photo of the bed big and they told me i would get a full refund. They now will not respond.
- Zac (2/5): - Horrible service. Never went. Wouldnt recommend for anyone
- James (10/5): - Really like the check-in and room is well decorated and clean.
- Carol (6/5): - It was a cute and clean place to stay and we may have liked and enjoyed it more if I wasn’t so close to the highway. The bed was also very uncomfortable. I believe the bed is very old. I had to ask for an extra towel 3 times and never got one until I went to the office myself and was fortunate enough to find someone there at the time.
- Michael (8/5): - Property was nice, clean and close to where we needed to be Saturday morning. Check in instructions lacked details on locating Unit 11.
- Dylan (2/5): - What I didn’t like was that I wasn’t able to check in! I waited around for 1.5 hrs (during that time there was another couple also waiting stating they had been there for hours & ended up leaving) after working 12 hours.
- Lisa (6/5): - No designated smoking area
- Linda (10/5): - I liked the concept of a small room to crash for the night but still had everything you would need. Fridge, microwave and coffee maker!
- Suzanne (8/5): - Cute
- Timothy (10/5): - Amazing place
- Christopher (10/5): - Cabins were cute and themed. Excellent staff and very prompt response to questions. Definitely will stay again and recommend.
- ERICK (6/5): - Nobody in office to check in. Must call number on sign after 3pm.
- Michele (10/5): Cute little cabins - We loved our stay at these cute little cabins.
- Amy B. (8/5): Unique - This Inn is a wonderful place to stay. It is very inviting and the country treme is unique. Would stay again.
Pros: good location, price and atmosphere
Cons: Bed on the hard side and poor internet signal for Roku tv.
- Tammy (8/5): - This property was perfect for my one-night stay. Not having the front desk on-site was a little confusing, but when I called, they were great. The room was well equipped and I felt safe there. This is NOT a place for people who require extreme quiet and silence. I'm not one of those people, but there were a number of dirt bikes racing up and down the road in front of the property overnight. I slept well and had no issues.
- Laura (2/5): Poor communication - Room was ok. Had to call and text several times and wait for the door code to be able to check in. Ended up having to put up a $200 deposit for having an in town ID which was not mentioned online when reservation was made. I was told I would get it back when I checked out. They put a hold on my card for the room plus deposit and the full amount ended up being taken out of my account and am still waiting on my deposit as I checked out 2 days ago.
- Helmut (8/5): - Das Zimmer war für 2 Personen inkl. Gepäck zu klein
- Verified traveler (10/5): Favorite Place to Stay - Close to family. Easy communication. Flexible options.
- Tomi (10/5): Cute and tidy - This was a cute bungalow. Very clean and home like atmosphere. Very nice when talked to staff. Nice location. Will stay here again for sure.
- Nancy (10/5): - Clean and fresh. Secured doors . Welcoming feeling.
- Charles (8/5): - The only thing that kept it from getting a 5 star rating is the location and the bed. It is on a main road and the traffic nose is intrusive. The bed is thin and squeaky.
- Rhonda (8/5): - Everything was nice. The bed was a bit uncomfortable. Small room but it was easy to access. Parking right by the door. Very clean
- John (10/5): - Quiet nice place.
- Erin (8/5): - The cottages are cute enough, but the floor of the shower was broken, the mattress needs replacing and I paid for a king and got a queen size bed. 👎
- Dakota (2/5): - we paid in the morningand we aarived at night to in check nobody could be reached. no signs saying when the last check in was, no email or phone call just took our money and ran
- Breanna (10/5): - This is my favorite place to book when family come to visit.
Warm and cozy
Private
Highly affordable
Owners are amazing to work with.
Will continue to book!!
- Rick (4/5): - There is a hole in the shower floor, the pillows and the comforter were dirty the furniture was not very clean
- Charissa (10/5): - Very cute . Beds comfy. Convenient. Easy check in. Thanks for a nice rest.
- Lacey (10/5): - The cottage was amazing and cute! Very clean and private parking!!! The owners tho, man they were the nicest people ever! Will be staying here again when I come back!
- Tina (10/5): Wesport cottages Joplin great stay - Adorable cottage very private front and back door led me right to my car. Bed was comfortable, shower was hot and great water pressure- 2 cup coffee pot with coffe mugs, mini frid and freezer, microwave! Loved it I felt like I had my own apt. You hear the train but that didn’t bother me. I will be staying here again
- Tisha (8/5): - .
- James (10/5): Wonderful cottage! - I recently had the pleasure of staying at a picturesque cottage, and it was the most wonderful experience of my life. The charm and warmth of the place were unmatched. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the thoughtful details and breathtaking decorations.
The cottage's interior was an impeccable blend of vintage charm and modern comfort.
This cottage wasn’t just a stay; it was a magical retreat I’ll treasure forever.
- John (8/5): - Loved the whole cottage theme
- Verified traveler (8/5): Enjoyed some peace of mind - It was a nice and clean room. Quiet and peaceful. Loved it!
