The hosts were friendly and knowledgeable about the area so can recommend places to visit and eat at. We had a very lovely stay and would come back.

Tim welcomed us very kindly and provided us loads of useful information about our stay in the house and the town. The room was very clean , and was also cleaned every day. The beds were comfortable, the room was quiet, looking into an inner yard with a beautiful view. Great location , very close to the center. In any case the town is very compact and everything is close within walking distances. There were a few options for breakfast by the hosts, which was delicious. We were made to feel at home. Tea and coffee facilities in the room. Welcoming and knowledgeable host. Short breakfast time availability 8 till 8.45 especially if you wanted a more leisurely start to your day.

Lots to do & see. Bedroom Accommodation 1st floor, should stair mobility be an issue.to consider. Proprietor Tim 100% helpful. Thank you Some bedroom cloths hooks for coats
- Robinson (10/5): Virginia Lodge was perfect for our stay in Stratford, great host, perfect location. - The whole stay was perfect, Tim was fantastically accommodating. My partner is wheat, gluten and dairy intolerant and they happily catered for that. The breakfast was lovely and the room was very clean and comfortable. The location was just a couple of minutes walk to the town making it easy to shop, and pop backwards and forwards to the room. We will defiantly be returning It was perfect.

- Sarah (5/5): Virginia Lodge - The room itself was pleasant. Clean bedding, etc. Coffee, tea, kettle, tv. The bathroom was clean. In the wardrobe, extra blankets are provided. The room was warm when we arrived. As an asthmatic, I do require a room to be fairly well dusted. On appearance, the room looked clean, but above the curtain pelmet shelf, there was a thick layer of dust, we had reason to move the chair next to the bed and the back of the chair legs were covered in dust and also the area of carpet where the chair sat was dusty.

The room was big enough with en suite bathroom and nice decor. Very clean and tidy. Tea and coffee making facilities as well as a haird dryer. The landlord was very pleasant and helpful. We had to cut our holiday short for a family emergency, Tim was very understanding and part refunded some of the cost. Good location, walking distance to train station and town. Free parking at back of property. When we return, I would request a room on a different floor, the attic room was very warm, access to the room was a bit challenging, wouldn't recommend for people with physical difficulties. The pigeons were a nuisance. Shower was on the small side.

Slept the best there than so had all trip, More mix and match with the breakfast would have been the only thing I’d suggest. I would have liked a small granola and yoghurt + small scrambled egg as an option rather than one or other. Or simply a small variety of hot things to serve ourselves so you could get the balance that suited you. But that’s just minor feedback easily outweighed by the room comfort!
- Linda (6/5): A reasonable basic B&B - The bed was very comfortable. A pleasant room. The location was good. The two doors in the room plus the wardrobe door squeaked, just needed a sqirt of WD40, shower screen rubber seal wasn't fitted so had to put it back into place so water didn't escape. Poor pillows, need updating. Toilet roll holder needed a screw as it kept falling off the wall. Things easily rectified but weren't done. Breakfast was OK but very limited choice and no fruit or yogurt available. Premier Inn offers better value but we like to support local businesses so have been to many B&Bs this was certainly not the worst we have stayed in, just needs a bit of attention to detail. Car parking very tight to enter into and get parked.

It is quiet and beds are very comfortable. Breakfast is included and very yummy. Coffee was good. Bathroom could use a bit of an upgrade. Operating hot water in the shower is a bit fiddly.

We did not use the car again until we drove home, all tourist attractions are in walking distance. Excellent breakfast choice, and plenty of it. Room, as rated, was clean and comfortable. Our room faced the main road. We had read that this was noisy, but we did not have any noise disturbance. Tim is a great host. Knowledgeable, helpful, allowed us to park our car before the 3pm check in time, and he is super quick at responding to questions/requests. We definitely recommend Virginia Lodge. Minor issues are: plug sockets are not at the side of the bed, so checking the time overnight, if charging devices, meant getting out of bed. Curtains were black out curtains, but light escaped over the pole. Neither are deal breakers.

- Samantha (10/5): A home away from home - The location was perfect for what I needed as I was going to see Hamlet at the RSC. The room was great. Comfortable and very clean with tea/coffee. Breakfast was lovely - good choices. The host was very welcoming and provided some really helpful information for my stay, including places to eat. It’s about a 10 minute walk to the theatre and a 20 minute walk to Anne Hathaways Cottage through a park. It was really helpful that I could park there as well. There was nothing that I could fault really, I would definitely stay there again. My only comment would be to check that there is enough parking. I managed to get a place no problem but I don’t think there are many spaces so it might be a good idea to speak to the host before arriving.

It had everything listed in the description. The Royal Shakespeare Company Theatre was nearby, so I would totally reconsider staying here, being a theatre enjoyer myself.
