Guest Reviews
- Roopal (8/5): Amazing Place for a short Stay - though bit hard and long arduous journey to get to the Lodge - Breakfast Lunch and Dinner - good variety of food and condiments
Staff were very amicable and helpful
Stunning views of the lake from the Lodge
Chalets quite spacious and well furnished
- Robert (3/5): Poor customer service, no Wi‑Fi in the room, and a complete lack of accountability. - Being in the middle of the Park. Size and view from the room. Beautiful location, but the customer service was unacceptable. We got lost due to poor directions and unclear signage, and despite calling the lodge multiple times, sharing our location, and explaining that we were stranded outside the park after dark with car trouble, no real help was provided. A staff member assisting other lost guests nearby refused to assist us, and after one of our updates, we received no response for nearly an hour. We were left in a remote area for hours and eventually had to make our own way through the park, arriving around midnight.
When we raised this with management, the response was inadequate. We were offered a late checkout and lunch—items already included in our full board package—so effectively nothing was done to address the situation. There was no accountability and no meaningful effort to remedy what happened.
Poor customer service and lack of responsibility, especially given that many guests get lost due to the poor directions provided and the fact that the hotel has no agreement with KWS to access the nearest gate.
Also, none of the rooms have WIFI, you need to call the cart driver to be transported to the reception or restaurant to have such connection.
A beautiful setting cannot make up for such disregard for guests’ safety and experience.
- Nduku (5/5): Nice location but not value for money - I like the location The food. The room service that takes too long. No wi-fi in rooms, no tv . The room didn’t have enough amenities. How clean the room is. No hot water the last day we checked out.
- Mark (10/5): - Friendly staff , great views and lovely rooms

- Jacqueline (10/5): Sopa Lodges sind die beste. Nakuru SOPA ist besonders schön. - Sehr lecker Alles
- HYEONGEUN (9/5): A bit isolated within Nakuru, but still worth it - 나쿠루 국립공원 입장해서도 상당히 안으로 들어와야 하지만 나쿠루를 방문 한다면 또 묵고 싶은 숙소입니다. 물론 음식이 나이바샤 소파보다는 조금 떨어지는 게 사실인게 규모에서 차이가 일단 나고 외진곳에 있어서 어쩔 순 없는 것 같네요. It would have helped to get rooms on the top section rather than at the bottom section for the view. 모기 조심 필요. The signs for Sopa lodge should be well set up along the way from the entrance of Nakuru National Park....our driver got lost multiple times..

- Hans (9/5): Good location inside the park - Good location inside the national park. Very friendly staff. Great view from the rooms and from the restaurant. Expensive…

- June (9/5): - La vue. Le confort de la chambre. La gentillesse du personnel. Et le parc La douche. Les repas
- Oliver (6/5): Fair. - Breakfast was fine. Location is excellent. We had to really follow up for a honeymoon setup request in our room. Also had to request for towel change.
- Felix (10/5): Great place to stay overnight for a Safari tour. - Location was breathtaking. Service exceptional. Amenities very good. Fabulous place to relax and experience the surroundings. Not much else to entertain you if you have no Safari tours planned. More of an adults retreat/environment.
- Gareth Symonds (10/5): Excellent stay in Lake Nakuru - Everything was wonderful- the location, rooms, food and the pool area were all amazing, and the staff were incredible. Nothing
- Scott (9/5): - Everything Park fee is very high , 90 usd! Not so many animals when you come from other parks. Some Bad road conditions
- Mario (10/5): Ein super Aufenthalt! - Sehr sauber, Empfang mit feuchten Handtücher und Getränk, sehr gutes Essen (viele Vegetarische Gerichte und Grill auf der Terrasse).
Personal ist sehr aufmerksam und zuvorkommend.

The service is just over the limit super. The food was really good and freshly cooked for every meal. Francis in the dining area was amazing and super kind .A big DANKE SCHÖN 🙏 We must come back again.Asantini sana That we had to leave 😪. Wish we stayed for more days
- Tess (10/5): Perfect combination of comfort and rustic with a fantastic view - It was the perfect combination of comfort and rustic. The buffet was excellent. The staff was exceptionally kind and helpful and went out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful stay. Bugs in the room, but that can’t be helped. There was also spray available for us to use.

- Barath Kumar (10/5): We enjoyed - It was all good It was very comfortable
- Van (9/5): Picturesque views over Lake Nakuru - Lovely property within Lake Nakuru National Park. Fantastic views from the room and from the communal areas. Good variety of food every day. We arranged game drives through hotel and was provided with a great driver we got to see both the black and white rhino (white rhino family including little one) which was sooo amazing We didn’t realise we had to pay the National park fees when we entered the park to access the hotel, probably our own fault for not checking. That was abit of a long winded process (not really hotels fault) but just mentioning for fellow travellers
- PAOLO (10/5): Un sogno sul lago Nakuru - Posizione meravigliosa, vista splendida su lago Nakuru.
- Lefentse (9/5): Breathtaking views of Lake Nakuru National Park and phenomenal staff a definite ‘yea’ if you looking at options in the a - The views from the lodge are phenomenal but even more impressive was how consistently attentive the staff was throughout our stay. Loved the food as well and was appreciative for the accommodations made for us traveling with small children. Highly recommended On site transportation when it is raining. We had to wait a long time to get a ride to our room with several bags as it was raining so perhaps investing in a few golf karts for such days to make wait times shorter
- Gregory (10/5): - The lodge is located on top of the hill overlooking the lake Nakuru. The view from the room balciny
- Jesse (10/5): - Staff, grounds, room, food No WiFi in rooms
- Kaori (10/5): - ロケーションも良かったし、お部屋の造りがアフリカらしくてとても良かった。
- Alicia (10/5): I would not hesitate coming back - The view is incredible, the room is large and comfortable and the staff very friendly.

- Maria (10/5): - The Sopa Lodge gives an experience of a lifetime! I am well travelled but this is rare gem. The staff were the absolute kindest, most accommodating I’ve ever ran into and always knew our names. The grounds were breathtaking. The meals were so delicious. The room was absolutely adorable with an amazing view! I wished I had booked a week instead of 3 days. I can’t wait to bring more family and friends to experience this.
- Catharina (8/5): Nice accomodation for just a couple of days. - Lodge is at a nice location in the park. Accomodation is already a bit older but still fine. Personell is very friendly and helpfull. They helped us enjoy our stay and fulfilled all our requests. Information on how to reach the lodge can be better. The food was okay, but not great.
- Quite (9/5): Superb - Excellent, inclusive, large buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner, catering to local and international tastes. The fact that every night you stay incurs a full day's park fees, currently US$60 per person per 24 hours for non-Kenyan or EAC residents. I feel fees should be discounted for those who stay in the park.
- Roderick (6/5): I wouldn't go back due to the noise - The location. Food was ok Bouncy castles and music day and night is not what I expect at a lodge in the bush!
- Paige (8/5): Beautiful spot, difficult to get to, limited wifi - The staff couldn't have been friendlier- they truly welcomed me and helped make my weekend special. The views and facilities were fantastic. The food was delicious. You have to pay to enter the national park- an additional $60 USD per night for each night you will stay at the resort. Then, the drive is 20 km (~45min) over bumpy roads with large puddles, so ensure you have an appropriate vehicle. There is no wifi in the rooms and very spotty (at best) wifi in the shared areas.
- Rashid (8/5): Very good -
- Gabriel (10/5): Amazing stay, great value and beautiful rooms. - Outstanding stay. Amazing facilities, great staff, delicious food and lots of options. Comfortable, large rooms with stunning views.
- Tim (8/5): Very good - Location decor food Bedding & bed
- Lara (5/5): Passable -
- Abigael (10/5): Exceptional - Everything. The service from everyone, reception, restaurant, bar, pool etc was exceptional. I was well taken cared of, thank you so much everyone 🤗.
Not forgetting the room, room service, the view, the birds and peace and quiet 😁.
I will definately be back, Inshallah!!
- ELIZABETH (10/5): Unforgettable experience - Our stay was so pleasant, starting from the front desk, rooms, location, staff, dining experience and general ambience. We would give all these a 5 star rating. Limo the manager was very helpful, and together with his team were all very welcoming, very professional and accomodating.
The hotel is located in the middle of the National park and overlooks Lake Nakuru and the hills around, giving a serene view. The rooms have an elongated glass on the side that allows the guests to have that nature view from the comfort of their beds.
Each meal had a different menu, providing a nice variety. The staff at the dining were all amazing and very accommodating for the guests that had special dietary needs. During our last meal they surprised us with a beautiful cake to bid us farewell, and we really felt special. We cannot recommend the hotel enough. It is truly a gem, and will definitely be coming back and spreading the word.
I would recommend guests to call the hotel to get information regarding the park fees and transportation beforehand, to make the whole experience unforgettable.
- Santosh (10/5): Exceptional - Vegetarian food options were lot. Very good location and scenic view from the room. Toilet should be better organized
- Faith (10/5): Exceptional - I enjoyed the location, it's exactly what I needed to unplug from my usual city life. The views are panoramic views & relaxing, the food is delicious and the staff are very caring. It was as though I was home away from home. I also appreciated that they have an in-house clinician within the facility. I would definitely come back again. Thank you team Sopa for an amazing experience.
- HANTING (10/5): - very great view from the property. staff are friendly. the food is great buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- Petronella (10/5): Bravo to all the staff at Sopa lodge and thank you for making my stay unforgettable. Your warmth will stay with me as I - Beautiful surroundings, stunning views. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Lovely food and relaxing atmosphere. I would highly recommend Halima for a treatment ar the spa, best reflexology I have ever had. The most peaceful place for a relaxing break. I would recommend staying and making time to relax here as well as the usual safari. Can’t think of anything.
- Barbara (8/5): Very good - Good food great service Better signage needed for directions.we got lost a lot
- Kathleen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Edward (10/5): - Incredible views, excellent service.
- Huw (6/5): - Poor communication from the hotel prior to arrival
- Melanie (10/5): Incredible luxury experience - Maggie

- Sita (8/5): Fantastic!improve in Veg food then will be A* - Rooms are amazing! Pool is fantastic overlooking the Lake Nakuru National Park. Food was buffet full board. Vegetarian food needs some update and recheck. Apart from that we loved our stay and fantastic saxophonist.
- Turnbull (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wamithi (8/5): Very good - Incredible views and great food. Amazing staff! Roads in some sections to the hotel were difficult to navigate when it rained.
- Ryan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Divya (10/5): Fantastic Lodge - Such a fantastic lodge, contemporary and yet in keeping with the Kenyan style of lodges. Absolutely beautiful cottages with the most amazing views of Lake Nakuru and the surrounding hills. Beautiful views from the cottage, poolside, bar and open dining areas. lovely staff, especially in the dining area. Facility headed by a warm-hearted caring Manager, Mr James Mwema. The head chef, Joseph, and his team create the most amazing meals. Their chef for Indian vegetarian food, Caroline, prepares delicious homestyle Indian food. I would highly recommend staying at this lodge
- Patrick (9/5): best place to stay in Nakuru parc - fantastic view on the lake, very spacious and comfortable rooms.
- Janet (7/5): Good value. - Relaxed setting & reasonable food. Convenient for game drives. Not being able to get free water frustrated the hell out of us & my water bottle was confiscated at one point - the only hotel that did it!
- Murife (10/5): Exceptional -
- Timothy (10/5): - Great property we enjoyed our stay, food and surprise birthday cake from hotel team staff whom came singing to my son birthday.❤️🔥😍.
We did a short game drive and we were lucky to see 2 lion and rhino at a close range.
Only hindarance if you are driving to the park make sure you have a four wheel drive car....the dirt road are not good for small car.
- Maggie (8/5): Beautiful view, great service but very dated rooms - Customer service is very good and there are great views. Also good food selection at breakfast The rooms are very dated and really need to be refurbished
- Kelvo (9/5): Fabulous -
- Terry (1/5): Horrible - Nothing Everything
- Mohamed (8/5): Very good view and rooms. Staff are exceptionally friendly. Water and juices at extra cost even if full board - View was really good and rooms were clean.
Receptionist (Halima) was exceptionally nice and friendly. The reason to significantly increase the rating on this platform and others. Despite that it is strange the water (other than the complimentary 2 bottles in the room), fresh juice, soft drinks and bottles juice are all chargeable separately in a supposedly full board package, but we were not informed by the waiter when we were placing our order.
- Rebecca (10/5): perfect place to stay in the national park - The views across the national park are outstanding. All the staff were super friendly and helpful and it was a lovely place to spend a couple of nights
- Rebecca (9/5): An amazing place to stay in the national park - Staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The views from the hotel were outstanding. The rooms were huge, and very comfortable. Food was lovely especially given the remote location.
