colin (10/5): - The hotel was lovely, the staff were very helpful and polite, nothing was too much trouble. The room was beautiful, comfortable and food was excellent. There was nothing negative about either the hotel, staff or location.
Alessandra (8/5): Perfect and comfortable location for Oban - Comfortable room with all basic amenities, very kind staff, clean room and clean swimming pool area. Very good location with sea views and 5 min from centre and 10 min from railway station. Some elements are a bit dated, like the bathroom didnt work too well. The swimming pool could do with a spa area or some jets. We didn't try food at the restaurant.

roberts (7/5): Pleasant stay for 3 nights in a lively location - Great location, lovely staff, especially Ellis (sounded like Ellis when I asked her name) who was so helpful and hardworking, great lounge and diningroon overlooking the promenade and waterfront, we had waiter service at dinner on the first 2 nights with a la carte menu, and this was very good indeed. For a large hotel, the bar was really small and had limited choice of drinks in the evening. The staff serving were also covering reception, so they didn't seem to be trained bar staff, and service was more like a shop than a hotel bar, which was a shame as it was a pleasant area with lovely views over the waterfront. It could be fabulous if extended, staffed and stocked more extensively.
Angela (5/5): Avoid. Cheaply run with no character. ‘Coach trip’ hotel. - Location was good, a short walk to the town centre, and had parking. Had a pool. It had no Scottish character (or any character) about it at all. Very ‘anonymous’. Breakfast was self serve and not good food. Things would run out before end of service and the old fashioned urn of coffee was disgusting. Rooms were basic and old fashioned. Bed uncomfortable and the hair dryer was one of those you had to keep pressing the button to keep it on. Not seen one of those for a while! Got the impression the owners do not like to spend much money.

Claudia (5/5): Ich würde wiederkommen. - Das Hotel ist super, wenn man nicht zuviel erwartet. Alles ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Das Interieur ist ein bisschen protzig und nicht sehr geschmackvoll arrangiert. Und die imposanten Vorhänge in den Zimmern könnten auch eine Reinigung vertragen. Ich bin mehrfach dort gewesen und hatte jedesmal eine Badewanne als Dusche. Leider war die Duschwanne nicht wirklich sauber, sondern wies deutliche Rückstände oder Verfärbungen auf, die sich offenbar nicht mehr entfernen ließen. Zum Duschen mit Badelatschen aber ok. Die Zimmer mit Aussicht sind wirklich gut zu geniessen. Allerdings gibt es auch Zimmer hinter dem Hotel in einer separaten Anlage, die nicht so schön sind und ebenfalls sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Hier würde ich keine Übernachtung empfehlen, da man sich hier direkt auf einem Parkplatz befindet und sich eher fühlt wie in einem billigen Motel. Das Frühstücksbuffett ist gut und ausreichend. Das Restaurant ansprechend. Die kleine Bar in der Nähe der Rezeption ist ebenfalls nett. Auch die dazugehörige Sonnenterrasse ist sehr schön. Die Aussicht, die man hat wenn man in der Bar oder dem Restaurant Platz nimmt, ist wunderschön und entschädigt für vieles. Das Personal an der Rezeption ist immer überaus nett und hilfsbereit. Das Schwimmbad habe ich nicht benutzt. Alles ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Allerdings sah es bei meinem Aufenthalt ein wenig nach Bauarbeiten aus, vielleicht wird ja auch gerade modernisiert.

David (8/5): Good location, helpful staff, felt comfortable and have been a few times before so happy to come again. - Its location overlooking the sea and easy to walk from into the town and harbour. It was large but friendly. Staff were helpful. Maybe a bit too big which meant staff were sometimes busy with others but not a problem.

task_master (3/5): Nice location but overpriced for low standards. - Hotel location was very good. Room position was close to rear car park and kitchen extraction fans so very noisy. TV had no remote control but even if we could have used it, it was too small to actually watch from our bed. Shower was too cold with low pressure. Carpets in our room and in general areas was stained and thread bare. Price for this low standard room was way too high.
Uwe (7/5): War schon okay. Familienzimmer würde ich nicht wieder wählen - Die Lage war schön, kurzer Weg in die Stadt, direkt am Wasser Personal ist sehr freundlich. Jeden Tag frische Wasserflaschen auf dem Zimmer und nachgefüllte Kaffee-Tee-Bar Das Frühstück ist täglich identisch. Die Familienzimmer liegen extern vom Haupthaus (im Hinterhof) und spiegeln nicht den Eindruck vom Haupthaus. Alles schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen und abgewohnt.

Stephen (8/5): Pleasant hotel with lovely view. - Clean, comfortable room with beautiful view across Oban harbour. Good breakfast. Mind-numbing piped music throughout hotel. We were told breakfast was served from 7.30. Arriving at the breakfast area at 7.31, we encountered a sharp-elbowed tour group intent on grabbing breakfast before their bus left. Some of our preferred items from the buffet were already cleaned out.

John (2/5): - the staff,always helpfull the room was cold, my mattress was uncomfortable, nowhere to put travel cases. the shower was hard to use. the ironing board fell apart when my wife was trying to use it, it hit her wrist causing bruises. the escape door next to your room was always left open so outsiders could enter the hotel therefore not safe for guests.

Catherine (6/5): Charming, but don’t go for the pool/sauna. - Dated, but not in a bad way- the room decor keeps the Victorian charm of the original building The pool was freezing, the steam room was on a timer which never let it heat up completely, and cooled to room temperature over a 10 minute cycle-when the steam pump turned off, so did the lights so sitting in the dark getting gradually colder. Changing rooms very small and door from corridor opens straight in to the changing rooms very small itself, showing all if anyone was walking past! Ended walking 15 minutes up the hill to the very reasonably priced public leisure centre for a swim and sauna.
Stéphane (7/5): Décevant - Lit confortable Nous avons été surpris d'avoir été relégués dans un bâtiment derrière l'hôtel. Ceci pour avoir choisi une chambre avec un grand lit. C'était bruyant, avec une vue sur un container, et sur un parking où il y avait un car de touristes tous les jours. Nous n'avions pas compris cela en réservant, mais nous nous sommes adaptés... La porte d'entrée, bien qu'elle fermait parfaitement, n'inspirait pas la sécurité.

Jan (6/5): Prima locatie, prijs kwaliteit verhouding is scheef. - Locatie We hadden ver van te voren twee kamers geboekt. Bij aankomst lagen die ver uit elkaar op verschillende verdiepingen en waren nogal verschillend, terwijl we dezelfde prijs betaalden. Eén van de kamers was erg klein.

Debra (5/5): Overall disappointed being in the annex we were looking forward to the beautiful front building - Size of room We felt we were deceived as we were out the back in the annexe not in the main part of the hotel. This wasn’t advertised .

Joanne (5/5): Very disappointed overall with our stay. Won’t be recommending - Location and free parking Uncomfortable bed. It rolled to the middle. Chipped bath. Nowhere to put your toiletries in the bathroom. The lift, second front entrance and stairs were in need of a good vacuum and mop. Not enough staff to provide service. We went to the bar for a glass of wine and no one was available. When we went to the front desk no one was there.

Anita (9/5): Pay A Little Extra For The View! - The location was perfect. Five minute walk along the Esplanade to shops, pubs and restaurants. View from the room was beautiful, well worth the extra we paid. The hotel was clean and staff helpful and friendly. Would certainly stay there again. Parking spaces are limited, maybe rearrange the parking bays to allow more spaces? Only a minor niggle though, and didn't detract from our stay.

Belinda (8/5): Comfortable stay for solo traveller - Very friendly and efficient reception staff. Nice bar and restaurant overlooking the bay - lovely setting. Beautiful view from room. Clean Dining room closed early. Limited veggie / healthy options at dinner. No espresso coffee at breakfast. No soap for bath - only fixed at shower level. No non dairy milk option for coffee in room.

Stuart (2/5): Won’t be back as it was not value for money - The location was great and the reception staff were nice The swimming pool was closed and given a really poor excuse to why and lies about how long it had been closed for…no one contacted me before my stay to let me know as I would have looked into changing my accommodation also there was no sauna as advertised…there was a steam room but was probably the worst I’ve ever experienced also I paid for half board but we were served up a buffet but I can only imagine it was what ever they had left at the bottom of there fridge and freezers

Denise (7/5): Great location and stunning views. Good breakfast, helpful and accommodating staff. - Our stay was very good, as usual. Twice a year I bring med - large groups to this location for an overnight stay on our way to the Isle of Iona, Scotland. While we didn't have dinner here, the breakfast featured a variety of great choices - it was perfect for our guests. Beds were comfortable although the duvet in our room felt as though it could have been wider to cover us both adequately. The facility in general could use a bit of an update however all in all, it was just perfect for our needs. You certainly cannot beat the view! If you're booking, it's definite worth the extra for a sea-view. We'll be back in August. Needed a bigger (wider) duvet.

Nors turi nemokamą parkavimuisi vietą, bet būna sunku ją gauti, nes parkingas dažniausiai būna pilnas. Glumino fojė keistas, nemalonus kvapas. O tai keičia viešbučio įvaizdį.

Lucia (7/5): - Location and standard basic facilities for hotels. Size of the family room. Outdated facade and interior, very outdated bathroom in need of deep clean, room above som sort of a noisy outdoor fan that went on all night and pool and facilities very disappointing. The water was way too cold. Loud music playing that you would tend to hear on a phone if they ask you to wait in a queue and steam room not working and smelly. Breakfast overpriced.

Lars (9/5): - Sehr freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal , sehr schöner Blick auf die Bucht und eine sehr gute Lage. Das die großen Panoramafenster im Restaurant zugeparkt werden obwohl es ein Parkverbot gibt und man somit keine Sicht auf die Bucht hat. Auch auf hinweisen ist das Personal dem nicht nachgekommen die Fahrzeuge auf den hinterm Haus befindlichen Parkplatz umparken zu lassen .

Severine (4/5): - L emplacement, le petit déjeuner est correct Recaler dans une chambre derrière la bâtisse, les wc ne fonctionnent pas bien, 1 chasse d eau et faut attendre 2h pour avoir de l eau pour la retirer, douche ou l eau chaude est peu présente, voulu chambre 1 grand lit , je me suis retrouvé avec 3 petits lits.

Bob (1/5): Terrible and overpriced - Breakfast ok. Eggs rubbery. Location good but couldn’t see out of window because of condensation between double glazed window panes. A room where the shower didn’t fall off wall and the bathroom cistern worked. I was in floor 3, room 7. Had to be moved. Very very poor.

Anne (5/5): - Location Small, claustrophobic room with no view, would not stay at this hotel again because of this, there were not many people staying so why were we given such a small room with no view, the hotel was a great location with a great outlook but we looked out at a wall. It wasn't cheap either, it should not be up to us to have to beg for something better when we've paid a high price. The curtains were hideous.

Location was great We stayed at this Hotel as it had a POOL and Steam Room However was very Disappointed that the STEAMROOM WAS CLOSED WAITING REPAIR We did go to the POOL HOWEVER THE SHOWERS before you enter the pool were not working as only FREEZING WATER 🚿 the POOL WAS ONLY 21 degrees an FREEZING 🥶 this was all reported to the hotel on our second day we were told SORRY the POOL should be between 24/25 degrees we will TRY AND GET IT SORTED This was NEVER DONE There is ABSOLUTELY NO STAFF AT THIS HOTEL WE HAD TO WAIT OVER 30 min to Check in ? The Hotel should have advised us that the POOL AND STEAMROOM WERE BROKEN we then would have gone to our usual B/ B we booked this hotel for the pool and facilities and a bit of luxury as you can see we got nothing , Not even Staff
