Darrel (9/5): Well located, comfortable and unique - Just across from the pleasure boat docks on the north side near the entry to the circular former island and a couple of minutes to the cafe-studded south side. Very comfortable 'suite.' The room was large with attractive use of wood and a bit quirkily designed. For example, the mirrors can be a little disorienting, but neither of us walked into one of them. The wood beam ceiling adds an appealing view. From the suites it's a 1-minute or less walk to the office, the regular rooms and the restaurant where breakfast is served and you can buy dinner. Reserve early. But there are restaurants all over the two bays on the south side and in the small streets running up the hill to the spired church.. A staff member picks you up from the waterfront. If you have a car, you're driven to a private parking lot about 10 minutes away by foot to the hotel. Breakfasts are superb, and you can usually choose between indoor and outdoor seating. There are some minor inconveniences, e.g. there's often no one at the front desk or answering phones, so getting help can require patience. No chairs or other comfortable seating - the bed or a very narrow built-in sofa. No writing surfaces either at least in our room. Instead of chairs there are two small built-in seats attached to the foot of the bed. I dare you to try to sit on one for more than 30 seconds. Even the staff laugh about them.

We had no trouble walking up the stairs, but I do not think there is an elevator. The breakfast was beautiful and delicious. The staff were very helpful and very kind. It was a perfect hotel and I would return. Nothing was wrong with this hotel.
Roz (10/5): Relaxing, comfortable stay in stylish hotel with great staff. - A charming hotel, an historic building with beautiful stone walls, full of character but modernised to be very stylish and comfortable. The staff were very helpful, friendly and warm. We appreciated the lift in the golf buggy with our luggage from parking to the hotel. Parking was convenient and easy. Breakfast was delicious, a good variety of options. We ate dinner in the restaurant one evening. This was excellent and both this and breakfast were served by a friendly and very efficient waitress, Lorena . Our room was very clean, stylish and comfortable, and peaceful. The area was quiet but only a couple of minutes walk to the harbour, restaurants and shops. We liked everything .

lottewilli (9/5): sehr ausgefallen, sehr sympathisch, ein unikat - das frühstück war aufgrund der angebotenen eierspeisen wie eier benedikt schon sehr gut und sättigend. die sitzmöbel im restaurant waren wohl sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig. zu hoch, zu schwer, zu tiefe sessel. sehr speziell. das gilt auch für die suite, die wir gebucht hatten. es wird als designerhotel verkauft, und design ist ein relativer begriff, hier hat sich ein amateur, der den ansprüchen eines funktionierenden hotelzimmers nicht vertraut war, ausgetobt. die dusche hinten dem doppelbett, getrennt durch eine glaswand, das wasser trat beim duschen raus ins schlafzimmer, da alles in glas war, keine wärme im duschbereich(draussen max. 5 grad, es war kalt, ein schwarzes klo, naja, die armaturen nicht hotelgeeignet, terrazzofussboden ohne fussbodenheizung, deshalb sehr fusskalt. aber man kann als architekt fehler immer was finden, da schliesse ich mich nicht aus. lift fährt direkt ins zimmer. resümee: alles sehr aufwendig und teuer, manches sinnlos. aber gesamt betrachtet mal was anderes als die normalen "luxushotels". hier hat man sich regelrecht eine materialschlacht mit naturstein, stahl und glas geliefert. alles sehr aufwendig bzw. teuerausgeführt. den architekten hat es gefreut. jedenfalls eine neue erfahrung, wir würden dort jederzeit wieder reservieren. siehe oben. der designer hat sich ausgetobt, vieles ist eine frage des persönlichen geschmacks, manches war jedoch am gast vorbei geplant. immer empfehlenswert, dass der planer nach fertigstellung auch die zimmer mal über nacht bewohnt, dann sieht er, was unpraktisch ist.

Estuvimos en la habitación Valdibora y no he visto peor diseño en los muebles y disposición de espacios. Apretado, con un clóset contrahecho donde no cabe nada, unos colgadores de ropa de fierro que no solo pesan sino que producen un ruido de campanadas cuando chocan entre sí. Una ducha con el suelo resbaloso, sin un mango de donde agarrarse en caso que uno se resbale, unos lavatorios donde el agua salpica fuera y puestos a una altura incómoda, sin lugar donde poner los útiles de baño personales. Lynne (8/5): Boutique Hotel that is Centrally Located - We both fell in love with Rovinj and the hotel. The staff at the hotel is over the top and the included breakfast was exceptional. Great location since everything is in walking distance or they have an adorable free trolley that you can get on and off. The only thing was the bathrooms in the room were very small. We first booked two nights in one room and the room was huge but the bathroom was a bizarre design. Then we switched to what I thought would be a larger room since it had an outside terrace. For more money, the room and bathroom were half the size of the first room. My friends stayed in the newly renovated rooms a block away and they were very spacious and less expensive than mine. Just ask a number of questions before booking, especially if you have a very tall husband.

Parking extra but very convenient if you call ahead to alert. Rovinj is really pretty and easily explorable on foot. Allow yourself to get lost. Only regret is we did not stay longer. Can’t wait to return to this exceptional hotel, if no other reason.

It does not have an elevator but our bags were taken care of by the staff. The room was a nice size with a small but comfortable balcony. The bathroom was slightly odd in that the toilet was “hidden” behind the right of the bed and the shower behind the left. The sink was in the left hand corner of the room.
