- markmB7030MD (10/5): wonderful stay! - We stayed for 6 nights, the first couple nights in the "Stingray" room on ground level and then the rest up on the top level in the "Reef Shark" room. We had a wonderful experience here. The staff went above and beyond to make sure that we had everything we needed. They helped us to book our flight to the island and then picked us up at the airport. They arranged a golf cart for us right at the resort for whatever days we needed it. The breakfast at the outdoor restaurant was amazing and also the dinners at Aji Tapa. We also took advantage of spending some time at the other Pur resort just down the street (complimentary drop off and pick up) which has a really cool swim up bar. We will be back for sure and will stay at Bella Vista again.

The room was perfect for what we wanted, staff was courteous and worked hard to accommodate anything we needed. Rented the golf cart through them and pick up and drop off was really easy. Rooms were clean and the staff went through everything with us, always going the extra mile. Highly recommend this place!

The place is stunning, spotless, and set on a beautiful private property that feels peaceful and tucked away. The grounds are gorgeous and make the whole experience feel special from the moment you arrive. We stayed in the Reef Shark suite and it was perfect. It had everything we needed and felt comfortable right away. It truly felt like home. The property was easy to find and check-in was quick and effortless, which made everything even better. The staff made this stay unforgettable. Linda, the manager who is always on site, is so warm and welcoming. Krystal and the rest of the team were incredible. Everyone was kind, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our stay amazing. And Dakota the dog was such a highlight. So friendly and playful, especially with kids. It added such a fun and personal touch. The pool was a great spot to relax and enjoy the day. The on-site restaurant, Aji, is absolutely beautiful with amazing food and is one of the most popular spots in San Pedro. The live music every night created such a great atmosphere and made the evenings feel special. The location is perfect. It is peaceful and not in a busy area, but still close enough to everything with many great restaurants nearby. Everything about this place made us feel at home while still feeling like a getaway. We would 100 percent stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting San Pedro.

From the seamless airport pickup to the smooth check-in process, everything is consistently well done. The friendliness from the owners and their staff always goes above and beyond, creating such a welcoming and personal experience. The accommodations are clean, comfortable, and make it easy to fully relax. We also always enjoy dining at Aji’s and PUR, both are excellent. We already miss our Belize family and look forward to returning again soon!

- B3674EEshawnf (10/5): Great Experience - First time traveling to Belize. When we first arrived I was a little concerned because we historically have started at larger all inclusive resorts. However by the second day all concerns were gone. Great location and the staff is excellent! The owner also showed up while we were there and was very personable as well. Food at the onsite restaurant is really good and if you like to do excursions, you can take them from the dock in front of the resort. Would definitely stay here again.

The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, felt as if you part of the family there. We stayed in the crocodile room, which was perfect for the five of us. Very clean and well stocked. Extremely comfortable beds!!! we all had a great night every night:) For the price that we paid, it was a perfect fit and well worth the value. Now let’s talk service. We can say enough about how extremely welcomed and cared for we felt with the Bellavista family! The moment we arrived, there was a sense of genuine caring, and that all of the staff wanted to make sure that we felt taken care of and comfortable. The food in the restaurant was fantastic! Great prices and even greater flavors! And you can’t beat the dinner ambience with the live music every night. Lynda soon became a friend, and we will miss her greatly! And a big shout out to Jackie as well. All in all an absolutely perfect vacation thank you so much Bella Vista family.

Loved the Iguana Sanctuary (highlight of the trip). - Everything was perfect from the pick up at the Tropic Air airport to dropping us off. We loved the food every day (especially breakfast). Linda and Jackie took such great care of us every day. We loved getting to know them and will miss them. Excellent customer service from everyone. The housekeepers cleaned the room better than anyone we’ve had in the past. We also loved Dakota. I got to play fetch with her from time to time. What a sweet natured dog.

Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and makeup remover towels were provided a long with a giant water tank which made filling up our water bottles easy! The restaurant on site was beautiful and had amazing food options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Every night was themed with live music. Everything was very organized and clean! Last but not least was how amazing and hospitable the staff were! We had a great time talking to everyone! They made us feel like we were at home! Stay here! You won’t regret :)

The suites are clean and spacious ( we stayed in the Sea Turtle Suite, closest to the restaurant and pool) we had a kitchen and dining area and a comfortable couch and then our own separate bedroom with a king size bed and bathroom. Cleaning service available and laundry service is available for $20 US per load…. Kayaking is free and they you get in and out of the kayak, a definite plus since you were getting on and off from a dock). golf cart rental highly recommended as there’s not much within walking distance and about a 15/20 minute drive into San Pedro. The truck stop which is a great sports bar and food trucks is only about a five minute golf cart drive away. We loved it and ended up going three nights during our seven nights stay! We will be back!

Restaurant food was delicious. Accommodated an extension of our original reservation. The pool was clean and refreshing. Utilized kayaks to venture out to the reef. A beach front walking path right in front of the property allowed for relaxing morning walks.

They offer many services (for a fee) such as rides into town. The restaurant is quite good, and there is a trail by the shoreline so you can walk to restaurants at other resorts. Our room had ocean/pool view and AC. You would not call it luxury. The other downside - few of the beaches in San Pedro are swimmable.

From the moment I arrived, Mike and his incredible team made me feel so welcome nothing was ever too much trouble, and their attention to detail was exceptional. The setting is beautiful, perfect for switching off and relaxing. The service really stood out; everyone was friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure guests were happy. A special mention has to go to Aji Restaurant — absolutely delicious! I fully intended to try lots of different dishes, but I kept going back to the tapas because they were that good. Sometimes boring is best when it’s done perfectly! If you’re looking for a place with amazing hospitality, great food, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, I highly recommend staying here. I would return in a heartbeat. Thank you to Mike and the whole team for such a memorable stay! 🌴✨

- chriscK1898LW (10/5): Bella Vista Resort where you become one of the family - From the moment we were greeted at the ferry terminal until the time we left the resort, the people at Pur Bella Vista treated us like we were the only ones there. It's very hard to give Great service while at the same time giving people enough space to really enjoy their surroundings and to relax and enjoy themselves while on vacation We stayed in the Sea Turtle suite. A lovely one bedroom, one bath with a sitting area and kitchenette overlooking the pool. We always like to split our time between whatever resort we are at and the local area. The nights we were at the resort the live entertainment they had was very good. Every night we were there a couple or a group was in the special dining area, celebrating a birthday or an anniversary. The resort is closed on Tuesdays so we went to the sister resort Pur adults only. With a swim up bar at the small pool. It was the perfect afternoon. So I'm a happy camper and I look forward to our next visit. The perfect ending was when our driver dropped us off at the terminal and he said I won't say goodbye, but I will tell you see you again.

The food was delicious at Ajis (the key lime pie was amazing and breakfast was very tasty), the dock was perfect to be picked up for activities. The pool was lovely. The staff were fabulous - Daid was very helpful, supporting us with pick up and check in, and our return to the airport! We stayed in the Tarpon Room (Lakeview) - the cabin itself was very cute, well decorated and comfortable. We liked having a kitchen to make our own breakfast some mornings. Great wifi connection! We stayed in the Tarpon Room (Lakeview) which I will say is set back near the road so on Saturday night it was loud with the sound of traffic. The other nights were a lot more quiet though.

We stayed in the Tarpon Room, which was even cuter in person—with just the right touch of Belizean charm. The space was perfect, with a cozy living room, a small kitchen area, and a patio to enjoy the breeze. The pool is in a perfect spot with a beautiful view of the ocean. It was so relaxing to float in the pool while looking out at the water, and they have cute lounge chairs right by the shore to sit back and enjoy the sea breeze. It was about a 15-minute golf cart ride into town, which made it easy to explore while still enjoying a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. We’d absolutely recommend Bella Vista Resort and would love to stay again!

- kimtiana007 (10/5): We love their stay at Bella Vista resort by Pur Boutiques!! - ♦️💕Bella Vista review 🌴 Overall: We have to say overall, this is an amazing resort. It’s located on the south end of the island down the road from the Truck Stop restaurants. They met us at the water taxi drop off and took us to the resort. Our penthouse room was spotless, romantic and comfortable with amenities, including bottled water, a mini fridge, enough ice for about 5 days and utensils/plates for eating, etc. If you’re gonna do snorkeling or scuba diving tours, they will come and pick you up at the dock right there at the resort which was incredibly convenient. Please note that otherwise you would have to drive into town to join different tours. Cuisine One of the nights we had dinner and it was one of the best meals we had while on the island. I had the chicken curry and Mark had the chicken carbonara. Lizards We named one of the lizards George, who was the medium sized lizard. We saw some little baby lizards, which were so adorable and then there was the biggest lizard that just kinda hung out by the golf carts. Dakota We were greeted by their doggy Dakota, who was such a sweetheart!! Nightly music Every night they had live music - from a different performer - that we could hear from our penthouse balcony. This added another level of romanticism to our stay. One night it was a guitarist and it made us feel like we were in Italy. Another night they had a band that played a little bit of everything including country, R&B, rock ‘n’ roll, and oldies. They had a local amazing Garifuna band that played the drums. Another night there was a flutist that was amazing and played popular songs. Staff: The staff was always so thoughtful, respectful, and full of information. We could not have had a better staff than who was on site during our entire stay. Thank you so much and we will definitely spread the word to family, friends, and acquaintances to pick your location!!🩵
- cswalker (10/5): Lovely Stay at the Bella Vista Resort - We arrived by ferry for a three night stay at the Bella Vista resort. The hotel sent a driver in a golf cart to pick us up from the ferry terminal. It was a 10 or 15 minute ride to the resort. The driver gave us rum punch, introduced us to the resort, and showed us to the stingray suite where we would be staying. The resort is not luxurious, but it is very comfortable. Our suite had a small kitchenette which included a coffee maker and coffee. We had a nice view of the pool and the ocean. It was extremely quiet during the days we were at the resort. My husband dove one day and the dive company picked him up at the resort dock. Right outside was the restaurant where we had some excellent meals. Normally, we don’t eat multiple meals at a hotel restaurant, but the food and the service and entertainment were all excellent. Beachside seating was heavenly on those balmy, tropical evenings. During our three nights at the resort, we heard Garifuna music, lovely guitar, and a saxophonist. For breakfast, we were introduced to fry jacks. There was happy hour every afternoon. The resort has a sister resort closer to town. They offer complementary transportation to that resort for a change in food or entertainment. We ate breakfast there on our final morning as we were being driven to the ferry terminal. Again we received friendly, enthusiastic service. My highest praise for this resort goes to the wonderful staff. We were treated so kindly and everyone went above and beyond what was expected. The owner even dropped by to see how we were doing as we dined one evening. The resort is a few miles out of town, but the staff arranged transportation when required. Had we more free time, it might have been nice to rent a golf cart and explore more. We would happily return.

From first contact at the airport by Daid to the incredible accommodations right on the water, to the world-class food and service (every person working in the restaurant was smiling, kind, funny, and so fast), every day was perfect. Having lunch in the pool while watching the waves on the beach… just heaven. My wife and I got a couple’s massage on my birthday. When we finished, my family had hired Bella Vista to decorate my room and leave a chilled bottle of bubbles. Absolutely magical.

The Crocodile Villa offers 2 rooms, 1.5 baths plus outdoor shower, a full kitchen and living room with plenty of seats. The deck is shaded from late morning on, overlooks the pool and has a nice view of the ocean. The staff at the resort is FANTASTIC. Very attentive and friendly. Since the resort is on the north side of the bridge, it has a more relaxed vibe, but it's still not far from many great restaurants.

Included breakfast was fantastic, as was everything we ate at the restaurant (shrimp tapas out of this world!). Went on a fishing trip and the chefs prepared our fresh fish beyond our expectations, with all the trimmings. The ambiance of this restauant was wonderful! The staff were friendly and helpful. Arranged transportation and excursions for us, and helped us resolved a problem that we had with one. This hotel is exactly what I dreamed my tropical holiday would be. We are hoping to return with our whole family soon! My kids want to meet Dakota! 💞

I highly recommend using them for the boat tours and spear fishing! The food at the restaurant was good and the restaurant on the island will make you come back. We did the full day snorkel and the half day spear fishing. Would recommend both.

Top floor with a delightful view. The restaurant, Aji, is the best we found. Location is in a quiet area. Renting a golf cart is easy and helps. You will go to the secret beach and Bella Vista is well situated for the trip. We didn't like leaving. We stayed 3 nights and it was great But if you can stay for 5 nights ❤️
- Tricia (9/5): Superb - We ended up staying at PUR Private Suites which is a partner property of BV. The host could not have been any nicer or more accommodating. The pool was very private. There is no view of the beach and there was some traffic noise noticeable at certain times. One large palm tree provides some poolside shade.

The accommodations were very comfortable & were an excellent location near water. The staff was incredibly fun, friendly & very helpful! The food was excellent & atmosphere perfect! My husband & I took sea kayaks out twice with snorkeling gear off the end of the pier which was free while staying at Bella Vista. This may have been our favorite part! My husband really enjoyed hanging our with the staff on the pier who were fun, helpful & knowledgeable about everything! This was truly an excellent find & I would highly recommend it!

- supraceo (10/5): Bella Vista offered it all - We just returned from 4 nights in the Tarpon guest house at Bella Vista. We throughly enjoyed our stay. The staff, especially, were incredible and really took pride in making sure every guest was enjoying themselves. Having one of the best restaurants right on the property was a huge plus and convenience. If you wanted to venture into town or over to Secret beach neither was too far away in a golf cart ride. We enjoyed the much quieter feel to the area compared to downtown San Pedro. Yet there was still plenty of offerings within walking distance, even a tour company right off the pier for water excursions. The pool area was a place to relax or mingle with other guests. Only thing to note is several of the guest houses are closer to the main road so you might encounter some road noise in the morning from the large dump trucks hauling materials for all the new construction on the island.

The entire staff was welcoming and friendly and the accomodations were beautiful (and as pictured on their website). From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed and treated as family. We loved the daily breakfast included at Aji Tapa Bar & Restaurant. My personal favorite was the French Toast, but you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu here. Dinner and nightly music lent to a truly magical experience. We enjoyed a privately chartered boat tour with Belize Parasail Plus, which is just at the end of the dock adjacent to the property. Those who enjoy walking will enjoy the path along the beach. Located between downtown San Pedro and Secret Beach, this is an ideal location for those wanting a quieter location.

Bella Vista helped us with flights to San Pedro, collected us from the airport and more us feel more than welcome. It genuinely felt like nothing was too much trouble. Our room, Stingray, was a good size, with a great hot shower and effective aircon. the kitchenette meant we could snack when we wanted - however the Aji restaurant was simply fabulous - offering a great range of food throughout the day - their pork chops and filet mignon were to die for! Having been to San Pedro some 18 years ago, we were pleased to be a little outside of the main centre so we could relax, dive and chill by their pool and on their dock. Highly recommend!

I'd love to give the people who do a great job working at the resort credit, but as a dog owner and a dog lover, I must do the right thing and tell you why I will not give this resort good reviews or even mediocre. There is a dog present on the premises known as Dakota and we've been told she is a "family dog". She belongs to the owner of the resort. The owner is an American who also owns several others in the area and travels a lot, leaving Dakota in the resort.The staff sometimes feeds her scraps from left over diners. We've been told she was fed regularly, but that was not so. I checked her bowl frequently, and it was empty. When she was finally fed and I saw was she was getting in her bowl, I cried and was appalled at the same time. Mostly rice and some beans covered with garlic and onions sauces, which are toxic to dogs. She is skin and bones, covered with scabs, and her poop was full of blood (we took her for walks). She is a beautiful black German Shephard with incredible personality, but suffering in silence at the resort owned by a person who could afford to provide better care for his "best friend." We've seen stray dogs on the streets of San Pedro who'd been better off than the "family dog" of a person with means. So, if you are like us and love dogs and are planning to stay at one of his resorts, please check on Dakota and if she doesn't improve, follow our lead. We've got her a bed, because she'd been sleeping on concrete with

Our friends were in Barracuda and another. Super cute bungalows with kitchens. We will be back and would probably choose different one that has kitchen. Ours didn’t have a kitchen but wasn’t a big deal.

- Peter (10/5): - We stayed in the Barracuda bungalow. It was perfect—one bedroom, full kitchen, covered deck, adequate WiFi, quiet, powerful a/c, plenty of space—for what we needed. Space is maximized at BV, so the bungalows are pretty tight but neither noise nor traffic were a problem. Food was good, drinks were great. Staff really couldn’t be any better. They’re friendly, helpful & always available. There is no beach, but rather a long pier. Be sure to take advantage of the free kayak. You will need a golf cart if you plan on spending any time in San Pedro (which you should). Some might see this as an inconvenience, but I really enjoyed driving around town, immersed in the hustle & bustle. Navigation, from the south end of the island all the way to Secret Beach was not a problem, even w/o mobile service.

Food was out of this world! The rooms are beautiful and each unique. The massages on site were phenomenal. We loved the pool and live music. Our trip was different since we were amid hurricane beryl however the owners and staff stuck around and made sure we were safe at all times! The location is quiet and hidden but super convenient when taking a golf cart around San Pedro! We cannot wait to visit again! Best Anniversary Trip Ever!!!!! Thank you guys!!!

Some had homemade jellies from local fruits. Everything was delicious and hot. Service was fast but always time for pleasant talk. Breakfast was for resort guests so it was never crowded. The staff were so friendly and nice, giving great advice and really became friends. The prices for happy hour were ridiculously cheap!! The pool was warm and right outside our room. There was really nothing lacking or nothing the staff would not do for you!! They would drive you to their sister club Pur down the road. They provided rides to and from the ferry.
