- Jean (10/5): A marvellous and memorable experience. - My husband and I enjoyed ourselves tremendously. The location, cleanliness and comfort were excellent. Nothing

- Heather (7/5): - The location, communication with owner and quirky nature of The Church.

- Lisa (10/5): Lovely historic building in nice town. - Thankyou Karen for allowing us into your home. Comfortable beds, nice linen, very clean. We came to Adelaide for the cricket the days were 40+ and the accommodation was lovely and cool. Thoughtful breakfast touches. Nothing
- Andrea (10/5): Magic in the Barossa - Owner so lovely. Met us there. Full of info about the area and so helpful.
The church itself is stunning. Kids were lucky ,getting a room each, with queen beds. Us, a large hot tub in our bathroom. Nothing. Host went above and beyond to make our atay feel like 5star luxury.
- Rebekah (10/5): -
- Nataliya (10/5): Such a special, beautiful place! Gorgeous garden set up! - Everything!
- Roslyn (10/5): -
- Kim (10/5): A wonderful location, warm and inviting accommodation, and a super responsive host. A lovely place to stay. - The property was super comfy and extremely clean. Beds and linen were pristine. The gardens and outdoor spaces are beautiful. Karen is a lovely host.
- Rosie (4/5): Spoilt for us by Personal Clutter - Ability to walk to the local pub. Gawler has some great shops. The garden is pretty but has fake grass. We were not aware that the property was lived in full time when not rented. The decor and facilities are very dated and cluttered. furniture and personal effects were not conducive to relaxing, for us as well as the smell from several hundred empty wine bottles lining the walls. Reversing out of the property onto the main road is quite tricky as you cannot turn around. The road noise started early. The property has so much potential to be beautiful but it needs a serious makeover.
- Karen (10/5): Wonderful location, amazing three bedroom and two bathrooms with uncovered parking. Will come again. - Location and parking was wonderful. Close walk to shops and the main street of Gawler. Large three bedrooms and two bathrooms, with a kitchen supplied with all items we needed to cook. Breakfast was included. Didn't have any problems with our stay, only a small negative were the barking small dogs next door kept us awake.
- Cathy (10/5): Amazing đ€© - Karen, the host, was amazing. Provided everything we needed for our stay and gave us plenty of local recommendations for things to do & see. The Church itself was gorgeous!!
- Henry (10/5): Your home on the doorstep of the Barossa - A very special & unique property. Staying here was an absolute pleasure. We thoroughly enjoyed our extended weekend right on the doorstep of the Barossa.
The town of Gawler has everything you need to support your stay. I wouldn't at all hesitate to stay here again. No faults at all
- Anthony (5/5): - Lovely owner who went to a lot of trouble to make sure we had a pleasant stay Perhaps the property would benefit from some updating now
- Hyde (10/5): Staying at The Church was a very enjoyable experience. - The Church was obviously well loved by the owner who was keen to share this with visitors. Somewhat quirky in nature and exceptionally well set up, it suits people who are looking for an accommodation experience.
- Karen (8/5): Very good - History of the church, Gardens Unfortunately the heating was probably the only thing that Let's this Beautiful accommodation down Needs to be upgraded .
- Louise (10/5): Peaceful surrounds in the heart of the Barossa - Great surroundings and lots of love Would have liked a smart tv for night time chill.
- Nathan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Simon (10/5): Great character property, good location - Lovely property in a good location. Well provisioned inside with everything you need The only very minor complaint was that the bedrooms upstairs have small floor windows which have an opening down to the ground floor bathroom in one room and the other downstairs bedroom in the other. This didnât really affect us but there is some sound bleed between upstairs and down from these windows. Very minor and could easily be solved with placing a cushion over the gap if this was a concern
- Anatoli (9/5): Lovely, well stocked and set up property - It is a beautiful and unique property. The outdoor area is charming especially if you like to spend a long lunch or dinner with family and friends. Nothing major. Note that sounds travel between the downstairs bathroom and 1st floor bedroom.
- William (10/5): Exceptional -
- Damian (10/5): Christmas at The Church - Our recent stay at "The Church" was Heavenly to say the least.
Never have we stayed in accommodation so well equipped, comfortable and relaxing.
Karen who is the very friendly homeowner and host, greeted us at The Church. She was extremely helpful in explaining how everything worked before leaving us, even spending the time to explain the history of her beautiful home. The Church is filled with many family photographs and mementos of love, giving it a great feeling of warmth.
The property is well maintained, exceptionally clean, wonderfully comfortable beds, the deepest spa bath we have ever seen, a modern washing machine, air-conditioning as well as fans in each bedroom and in the loungeroom. Laundry liquids are provided as are soaps, shampoo and more.
Outside there is a beautiful screened entertaining area with overhead fan and a lovely garden. We enjoyed sitting there with a cup of tea just listening to the birds chatter. There were even some organic herbs growing outside that we were able to use when cooking.
The kitchen has a full oven, stove top, dishwasher, microwave, a number of dinner sets and most everything else you could think of.
Although situated on what can be a busy road at times, the noise from passing traffic was greatly reduced when we closed the front door.
We are very security conscious and were happy to find the side gates secured, the double garage has an automated door and both the front and rear entries have security doors.
There is a good selection of books to read and games to play which we made use of.
Karen had left us fruit juice, milk and butter in the fridge, a lovely selection of cereals and muesli bars plus fresh bread to use during our stay. We had only booked for four days, our stay was not long enough.
- Vicki (10/5): Our stay at the Church was Amazing, a beautiful place and garden, we had the best time, comfy beds and Karen was the bes - Our stay at the Church was Amazing, a beautiful place and garden, we had the best time, comfy beds and Karen was the best host! Lovely outdoor area. Nothing
- Darryl (10/5): Tania and Darryl. - Location, exclusivity, attention to detail, friendliness of host. Pub next door, drive through coffee bus just up road. Bottom bedroom needs better blind or blockout curtain. Washing machine rattling in enclosure (not a good fit)
- Deirdre (10/5): Quirky, comfortable, with a lovely host - Gracious host, good location, comfortable Very minute detail - we couldn't find a peeler!

- Fuller (10/5): Beautiful heartfelt surrounndings - We loved the character and history of the building.
The supplied breakfast and heartfelt personal service of the owner Karen.
Comfy beds beautiful spa bath, excellent location and car parking. Beautiful outside area. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Adelaide's cold weather. No fault of anyone.
Full length mirror in bedrooms would be awsome but not a huge necessity. Overall will definetly stay again but in warmer months as being Queenslanders we, had trouble staying warm despite a beautiful fire and plenty of heaters.
- Brendan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Donna (10/5): Exceptional - Beautifully presented with a homely feeling Karen the host is so accommodating.. The house was clean and beds comfy.. Fantastic location close to everything.. - Peter (10/5): Good location in a quirky and comfortable property that provids everything you need - The property is unusual, being a former church but has been interestingly and tastefully converted. The accommodation was well laid out and the decor and furnishings very individual which made it very interesting. Everything you could require was provided in terms of kitchen equipment and the do it yourself breakfasts are a thoughtful touch. one of the highlights was being met by the owner who took great pride in the property and gave us a detailed tour as well as providing useful local information. All in all a very comfortable stay with everything we needed.

- Terence (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shiva (9/5): Superb - The house was really homely and host was most helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Given it is a converted church, there was little natural light in the house.

- Amanda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christine (9/5): Lovely building, tastefully renovated and near shops. Good place to stay if youâre visiting the Barossa wineries. - Beautiful home, very tastefully furnished. The breakfast supplies were excellent. The garden was lovely and we enjoyed sitting out there. It was a church, so very high ceiling and difficult to heat. There is a wood burning stove, but having had no previous experience of lighting one, we didnât try. Also, my husband has asthma & smoke is really bad for that. There was a radiant heater, but that didnât seem to make much difference. Luckily, the weather was really warm, so we sat outside until it was dark. Itâs on a busy road, so a bit noisy.
- Frances (9/5): We enjoyed our stay at The Church. - The property was very well equipped and we had everything we needed for our stay. Karen was wonderful to deal with from the get go. Having downstairs and upstairs bedrooms was perfect for our party of 3. The garden areas were lovely and perfect for outside eating in warmer weather. We like to walk every morning before breakfast and found the main road location a little daunting.

- Janine (9/5): Superb - Every thing was on hand. A home away from home. I didn't like all the display bottles. It made the large space feel a little closed in.
Just a personal preference.
