• Alayna (10/5): - This place was perfect for our little weekend getaway for a friends wedding. It was only 4 min drive from the wedding venue and easy parking. Great scenery. The place is a little bit outdated but its comfortable and clean, which is the most important. The couple running the place is super nice and accommodating. We brought our 5 month old baby last minute and it was no problem. I would definitely stay again.

• Anderson (10/5): - Secure Wifi. Pity some of the more pretentious establishments couldn't do likewise. We loved it. Modern travelers looking for multistory accommodation close to Interstate exits may not agree.

• Niekras (5/5): Kitch all the way. I love that stuff, but service needs a little improvement and refining. - This place has a lot of Kitch and is run by a sweet family. It was an alright place and it served it's purpose, being across from the Paddle Wheel Inn, which was hosting a wedding in which I was officiating. I dont think my room was ever cleaned or the linens changed in three days, the towels were rough and one had a hole in it, the soaps provided for the shower were inadequate and not replaced, and although I didn't quite mind, I wasn't really impressed with any of the service. This is a motel, I understand that, and it is family run. I just think there should be a little communication by them about what to expect - maybe tags on the door for getting the room cleaned, etc. You can only do so much in these instances. Some vending machines might be a good way to go, as well.

The mirror was dirty. The toilet seat was dirty. The bed was comfortable. The theme was interesting. The fridge worked. The motel should have cost $20 or more less for what we received.

• Larry (6/5): Very rustic, not clean……. - The floors in room were dirty, the dispensers for soap were not working, beds were very uncomfortable and the rooms were never cleaned or supplied with clean towels, etc. We requested new towels and it took all day to get them as the managers were not there and office was closed!

We didn't have a problem with the older style of the room. It was clean and pleasant. We had beautiful views from our room. Really, nothing. It was nice. And the gentleman that checked us in was pleasant.

Location was wonderful - right across the river from the Blackhawk statue. Had a little trouble getting the door to lock properly. Staff wasn't there when I left so I just left the key on the desk. I wanted to say "thank you" for a nice stay.

Sure I had access in the evening but not in the morning. My trip was for fishing, I wanted to check the radar, but could not. I could not check email, FB account. The connection kept timing out. If you say you have internet, then make sure you have internet,

Entire room is out of date and the beds were very uncomfortable. I left after about an hour due to smell but no refund given for dissatisfaction.

• Kathleen (8/5): Already planning next year's visit - Very clean, close location, cheesy theme rooms, mini fridge & AC The bed closest to the bathroom needs replacing. Might be OK for one occupant. If one person moved the other ended up in the middle or almost on the floor. Otherwise accomodations were very acceptable.

• Amy (6/5): - Place was clean and quiet, but is a relic from the 1950s or '60s in decor and utilities. No amenities, such as vending machine or ice available and no breakfast was included. Checked out a day early but was still charged for 2 days instead of one and was not given - or offered - a receipt. Apparently office is not really open on Saturday and was practically pushed out the door when I checked out early. It was "yes, yes, yes, leave the key" and goodby.
