The breakfast was equally good and served promptly. I liked that I had both a shower and bath in my room. The room itself was spotlessly clean and the bed was comfortable. I found my room a little chilly in the evening. The hospitality tray could have been more generous, just 2 sachets of tea and coffee and 1 packet of 2 biscuits. It was ok as I was on my own but had there been 2 in the double room it may not be enough.

- Johnson (9/5): - The building is beautiful and the breakfast room, bar and restaurant look as though they have recently been decorated. The customer service from all the staff we encountered was exceptional. We were greeted immediately upon arrival, told about the facilities available and then shown to our room. The room was very spacious and the bed was comfortable. We had a drink in the bar before heading out to a family event, the service was quick and friendly. When we arrived back at the hotel after our evening out we were greeted by the Night Porter at the door who asked if we needed anything before going up to our room. We had not booked breakfast but decided on the morning we would like it before heading off, this was no problem and we were seated in the breakfast room immediately. The cooked breakfast was delicious. It was made to order and served to our table with a smile. Upon checking out we were wished a safe journey home.

- Eghils (10/5): Well situated, attractive building, and with a bit of individual character. - My wife and I come to Grimsby periodically to visit family, and Millfields has become part of the visit that we look forward to. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the rooms we have had are clean and reasonably spacious, and the meals we have eaten have been good (great fish and chips!). The place is very conveniently situated for the whole area, and the building is full of character (unlike the impersonal 'chain' hotels) If you fancy a short walk the nearby People's Park from the Victorian era is perfect, complete with very nice cafe.

- Frost (3/5): - The staff were excellent changed my room when I got there because the first room didn't have a bath only a shower and were welcoming and so friendly couldn't ask for better staff . Uncomfortable beds, out dated and WiFi didn't work and the first room i went into smelt awful once they'd moved me rooms the bath wasn't clean and there were hairs in the bed and the light switches looked like nicotine stains on them

One room seemed freshly decorated, my sister's was musty and in need of updating. Place is lovely but could do with a lick of paint. Going through the squash court area is inevitably a bit whiffy - but we knew that as we have stayed several times before, and would again. The fire alarm was being tested over breakfast - although the alarms in the breakfast room were disabled the high pitch alert from the reception area was intrusive - and presumably testing could have waited until after breakfast service.

- busman20 (10/5): Wonderful place to stay - We stayed here just for one night while we went to a show it is perfectlylocated, what a find, from the minute you walk in, the staff are warm and friendly and nothing seems like to much trouble, the room was a good size with a comfortable bedside a bathroom with a bath and shower. We eat in the restaurant and the food was amazing and so were the staff, this will definitely be our go to place whenever we need to stay in the area

- loraines178 (8/5): Very good staff and food - Found this hotel to be one of the closest to the hospital (3 minute drive, 15 minute walk) where a relative had an operation. Initially booked a room for three nights, but stayed for six. I didn't want to stay in a chain hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was very good. My room (in the Coach House) was quiet, clean and the bed was very comfortable. I had to turn the radiators down as it was too hot. Tea, coffee making facilities and bottled water were provided, with a small fridge as well. Free WiFi worked well for me. However, TV reception seemed to vary at different times of day. Parts of the hotel looked a bit tired, but some refurbishments were on the go. A large pothole in the front car park needed filling ASAP. Overall, my stay was enjoyable and I would stay again.

The restaurant/conservatory where breakfast was served was bleak. (We were there over night Christmas Day until Boxing Day)There was a Christmas tree but it did not feel very festive. Rooms were tired and dated with scuffed tatty decor in the rooms and corridors. Walking through the middle of the squash court area was an unwelcome surprise. It smelt of cleaning fluid and did not feel like you were in a hotel…

All staff, including Marie the manager, made me feel so special. Food and drinks during the day... tasty, fresh and served correctly. Room.... large, spacious, great TV... although took a while to figure out a toggle switch made the volume go up and down. Some instructions would have helped? Tea and coffee in the room. Dining... £96 in two belly pork starters and mains.. fish and chips and a chicken fillet. Wine.. £27. Real food. Real homemade chips. Excellent menu. Breakfast... well worth it. Quality throughout. Generous portions. Faultless. Service was amazing. Attentive and friendly. All in all... highly recommend. I would also say contact them if you have a special anniversary etc... they will go that extra mile. Carl the chef and his team... wow. They know how to make filling, quality food. Will always recommend here.
- 897jayneo (10/5): A very enjoyable experience - We had not been to Millfields for sometime and booked a Sunday Lunch in January. Our experience was great, on arrival we were met by a member of staff who was extremely welcoming and helpful. Our Lunch was lovely, well presented and most enjoyable. Could not fault our experience in any way and would recommend Millfields.
