• Saranatechaceannabelle (10/5): Great location, clean house, exceptional value - It was a beautiful house, not far from the nijo station. It also has massive shopping centre close by. The rooms (2, divided by a sliding door) had western beds in one room and Japanese mattresses in the other. Toilets on both levels. The bath tub was amazing! Automatically filled the bath and kept it at a constant temperature. They had a basket full of disposable amenities such as a comb, toothbrush, body sponge, razors and so on. All soaps and lotions, laundry products supplied. We had trouble turning the main bedroom and loungeroom light off (couldn't find light switch), however I figured out that the skinny long torch looking device was actually the on/off switch. Still a 10/10 place and would stay again! :)
• Carmen (1/5): I would recommend not to stay here until the property is refurbished to the standard in the photos. - From the listing, I was excited to stay here. From the outside, the property was nice but once inside, I was quite disappointed. The property was not clean (damp smell, dust and dirt on windows and bathroom). Carpet in front room was stained. Armchairs in front room dirty. The picture did not exactly match the property, it was the same place but misleading as photos must be quite old or the place not well maintained. Some of the reviews did not match the listing (e.g. breakfast available, small garden was a small yard that was dirty.) The light in the main bedroom upstairs did not turn off so we had to sleep with the light on. We did not sleep well. We booked this property for two nights but only stayed one night and the condition was not nice. We had to pay high rates to book another accommodation last minute. Bathroom was not clean, dust, dirt and rust on the windows and door.

• Vanessa (8/5): Comfortable, clean and a handy location. - Hosta Nijo Aoi, was an excellent stay. Close to the train station and convenience stores. We were a group of 8 and managed well. The 2 sinks were very handy and so was the washing machine. The house was very clean and the 2 toilets were also very handy. The property description said 3 bedrooms, but there was only 2.

• Miki (9/5): Great. - Nice rooms and I loved how enclosed each space is. Setup is easy, make sure to read the manual. Has a washer dryer but the drying portion takes 3+ hours and doesn’t dry it all the way. I would suggest hanging the clothes on the provided clothes rack, setting it up under the heater/AC, and blast air on it for quicker drying. Sleeps a lot of people but might get chaotic getting ready in the mornings with limited sink spaces. We did see a cockroach in the upstairs bathroom but it’s kind of expected in Japan. Just don’t leave food accessible.

• Maria (4/5): Unfortunately, it was unpleasant and expensive as we had to book other accommodation. - Only the location. Very dusty house, we booked two nights which was 58,000 yen, due to allergies to dust we couldn’t stay there both nights and had to book a hotel nearby. Also there was no instruction on how to switch the lights on/off, until I read a few reviews and found you use a stick like device. There were mosquitoes in the house and we were bitten, I had to use the spray that is provided. Overall, it needed a thorough dusting and proper cleaning. I provided this feedback to the proprietor, who apologised and said they will try to prevent it next time. My concern is that after translating and reading some of the prior reviews the comments I made were also made by other reviewers. So clearly the feedback has not been followed up. Also the photos on booking.com make it look a lot better than it actually is, it is a little run down and the carpet is very worn on the entry and stairs.

• Man (8/5): Need a map for car park location - The unit is exactly like how it is advertised. The owner prepared lots of kitchen-wares. Avoid choosing this if you are foreigner and comes with a car. The car parking is around 200m away, but the signs/directions are all in Japanese. There are lots of small parking spaces in the area. So it is nearly impossible to locate the car park without asking any locals for help. Took me sooo long to locate it. A simply map provided would be much much better. The staff wasn't able to communicate in English, I am basically speaking to dead air.
