Guest Reviews
- 303susanneb (10/5): Quiet and safe and very friendly! - We stayed two nights and didn't really have time to explore the hotel facilities. Large private and safe parking just a few minutes walk from the old village.
We received fantastic help from the hotel owner when our car broke down. His helpfulness was truly exceptional! When you receive that kind of help, even a difficult situation can become a very positive travel memory. We are so grateful!
- Jeffrey (6/5): - Mediocre property. Motel-like
- joseph (2/5): Bad experience - It started badly with"you are too early!! not with how was you 4.5 hour drive here.!(we were 35 minutes early.)
at reception we were given a list of do and don'ts. such as if you eat anything in your room. you will be thrown out- no refund. if you eat anything by the pool you will be thrown out, no refund.. there is no coffee, no entry into lobby area, no entry into dining area.no access into
their parking lot from 8:00pm until 8:00am. all areas are gated off with a huge steel folding gates.
Staff and particularly the "boss"would walk by by us several times during breakfast averting all eye contact.
or a "good morning". we decided this was not a happy place for us. we decided to stay for a second night then leave i gave them notice and told them i would pay the 1 night penalty according to Hotels.com.The "boss" informed me he didn't abide by Hotels.com rules he has his own (not published on the website.)Hotels.com informed me there was nothing they could do.I was charged for 8 nights stayed two !!
We have traveled to France since the "50's" ! love France and it's people.
many wonderful places to stay. This place is not one of them.
I personally can't believe the many 10/10 reviews .
- robinsy (6/5): Adequate stay - The positives - clean, good parking, pretty building and pool area, 15 minute to town.
Negatives - difficult to find a staff member, breakfast €16 there was no prepared fruit, no bread for toast, no coffee options, the small shower towels not changed and left damp as no where to dry them, no pool towels available so meant we used the ones in the room. 1 bottle of water supplied for 2 night stay. Interestingly no food or drink to be consumed in the room....of course we did though!! For a 3* hotel that offered a spa the massages were €90 as the cheapest. Roussilon is a lovely village be sure to visit the Ochre. We ate twice in the village the first restaurant clearly not a fan of the English the second restaurant was so welcoming, see other reviews. We took a day out to L'isle de la Sorgue and Gordes which were beautiful definitely recommend a trip.
- MICHAEL (10/5): - Excellent hotel.
- gbC1879PA (2/5): Go elsewhere - This establishment could be so great it’s too bad that the owner is so not into the international clients who visit his property. I stayed there for two weeks and I couldn’t get him to give me directions on how to get to a nearby town. Meanwhile the French visitors he was pulling out Google maps and printing them directions and they were only there for a weekend.
I’ll take my business elsewhere thank you very much. And then he added some bs charge at the checkout.. fine charge me, I can afford it.
- jean francois (10/5): - Bel endroit vraiment
- Gonzalo_de_Berceo (6/5): A little disappointing - This is a nice hotel in a nice location on walking distance to Le Sentier des Ocres in the center of Roussillon. I could have given it five stars, but I ended up with three due to the following reasons:
- welcome was rather cold and perfunctory;
- staff was not really interested in us;
- there were too many instructions and regulations, e.g. "Any consumption of food and/or drinks is prohibited in the rooms (...)". "In the event of non-compliance with these regulations or in the event of disagreement with the instructions of Management, we reserve the right to terminate the current stay (...)". Welcome ;-)
- rooms were really small;
- reception, bar and pool are closed at 8 pm;
- there was a bottle of water in the room, but there were no glasses, not even in the bathroom.
- algebraqueen (10/5): Relaxing Oasis! - We spent two nights at this amazing place. Our room was nicely decorated, clean and well-thought out, with its cute little balcony overlooking the lovely relaxing yard. There are a couple of areas on the main floor where one can spread out and read/write, whether inside or out. The breakfast is outstanding, well worth its modest cost. Warm hospitality seems to be its motto! With a 15 min walk to the centre of Roussillon, its location is perfect. Highly recommended!!!
- Muriel (10/5): - .
- Iain (10/5): - Perfect location - a place to relax away from the crowds but an easy walk to the must see, taste, drink elements. Staff were supremely helpful.
- Ian (10/5): A little oasis - Stayed here for 1 night, the town was very busy but this hotel, just a short walk on the outskirts of town, was a little oasis from the hustle and bustle. Lovely pool, sun beds, room and breakfast. Only slightly strange thing was the hairdryer- best bring your own according to my wife! Wished we’d stayed longer, the town is wonderful- recommend Ooma for dinner.
- Mo (10/5): Excellent - Great and beautiful hotel, convenient, only 10 minutes walking distance to the town and the park. Clean and quiet, service is excellent. The hotel staff recommended and help us to reserve a very good restaurant.
- Emmett (10/5): - A wonderful stay. Location, room, pool and breakfast all perfect.
- RUBEN (10/5): - Good place. Breakfast delicious. Everything ok. Recomend this hotel 1A
- JulietR (10/5): A wonderful stay - We stayed here for three nights and were so glad we booked it. The hotel is easy to get to and there is ample parking outside. The carpark is locked overnight but you can still get cars in/out with the keyfob from your room if needed.
Check-in was very easy and we were early so they very kindly allowed us to use the pool while we waited for our room. The lady who checked us in couldn't have been nicer. She came out to the pool area to tell us when our room was ready, then brought us up and explained how everything worked in the hotel. All the staff we encountered were absolutely lovely, so helpful and professional.
The reception closes from 8pm to 8am but they made that very clear and show you how to enter/exit the hotel during these times as that area is closed off.
The room itself was wonderful. Really charming and so clean. A comfortable bed and the hotel was really quiet so we got a great night's sleep. The air-conditioning was just right and kept us cool. The bathroom is really modern with a fantastic shower. There is also a separate little room for the toilet. It sounds bizarre to comment on it but the flooring is so soft - you will see what I mean! Our room had a small little balcony with a table and two chairs which was nice. There is also a safe, plenty of storage space for clothes etc and a small fridge.
The pool area was lovely. It wasn't too busy during our stay and the water temperature was lovely - refreshing without being too cold. There are deck chairs but also a lovely covered over seating area if you'd like shade from the sun.
The location was great. It was about a ten minute walk from the village of Roussillon. It has footpath the whole way in. There is a small supermarket and are plenty of places to eat / get ice-cream! There are lovely views from the village too. It had a nice charm to it.
I would have liked the option to have breakfast included when booking via booking.com as it ended up adding quite a lot on to our bill and we would have liked to have been able to budget for it in advance.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. A really great place to stay.
- simone_a13 (10/5): three nights in Roussillon - We stayed here for three nights at the start of a walking tour. The hotel is located on the edge of town, so it's about a 15 minute walk into the centre where the restaurants and cafes are located. Rooms are small, which is standard for accommodation in France. There's a small balcony which gets the morning sun. Good shower and comfortable bed. Breakfast options are good. We also made use of the gorgeous pool as it was quite warm during our stay.
- Robin (10/5): - Nice property - beautiful pool, it was hot so we used it. Room was nice - pretty average, but as expected. Easy walk into town for plenty of dining options. Friendly and helpful staff.
- Paul (10/5): Nice, residential area - Two days here, cycling to see the lavender fields and other beautiful sites. The small town is a delight and this hotel is walkable to the downtown (though uphill and probably too far for older folks). Staff a bit off-putting but nothing that interfered with our stay.
- Jennifer (10/5): - We loved our stay in Roussillon. The location was close enough to walk to town and had convenient parking. The grounds are lovely! Such a relaxing stay with the balcony room.
- S (10/5): Great location, lovely garden and pool - Perfect location about 10 minutes from the village set in a garden with a fabulous pool. Most rooms have balconies ir terraces. Great breakfast and friendly staff. Dinner service is somewhat limited but food is high quality. Not much for vegetarians. Overall excellent and I'd happily stay again.
Chambre spacieuse. Très bon petit déjeuner. Calme, propre et personnel sympathique et discret.
- Anh (4/5): - The hotel is beautiful done from the rooms to the landscaping. The bed and the pillows rather on the hard side and quite uncomfortable. We were given a refillable bottle of water but no glasses available besides the 2 flimsy plastic cups in the bathroom, one of which broken. The rules of the hotel posted in the room spelled it out clearly “Any consumption of food and / or drinks is strictly prohibited in the rooms” It really took the pleasure out of your holiday! You can’t simply have a cup of tea without searching for a staff to request a service since the dining areas always dark and empty except at breakfast time! Breakfast is very nice though but we only had breakfast there once since we like to walk to the city center for a croissant at the local bakery. About the staff, the person in charge at the front desk was very nice and helpful but the rest quite distant and a bit unfriendly…
On our third day, we returned to our room after the morning exploring the town around 2pm to a still messy room…At 3pm we left again when the staff wanted to service our room and was horrified on our return some 3 hours later to our room with door and window wide open with the door stopper in place and nobody in sight.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - located a small distane from Roussillon this hotel is very comfortable with friendly staff, excellent breakfast, nice swimming pool, good rooms and picturesque grounds
- Po Yuk (10/5): Very comfortable hotel in Roussillon area - The hotel looks luxurious with simple setting about 800 m from town of Roussillon. I specially like the lively swimming pool. When I arrived the hotel at 745 pm, the receptionist was very kind to tell me that the manager allowed me to swim despite the swimming pool was supposed to be closed at 8 pm. This was a bonus to me. The swimming pool is well litter with colourful balls that made the pool water colourful. I was so lucky having three nights staying in this hotel. The next day, I damaged a towel so I was willing to pay for it but the manager said I did not need to pay. By showing a small gratitude, I felt very comfortable. Also the receptionist said if I went to dinner at town and came back late, the hotel staff can assist me returning to hotel. I will never forget this hotel and must come back again.
- Waris (10/5): - Beautiful property with friendly staff and family feel
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely hotel with a nice pool, wonderful staff and great breakfast.
We had car trouble on our way to the hotel (brand-new car rental from Hertz) with flashing lights and exclamation points on the dashboard. Since we couldn't read the French car manual, we didn't know what was the problem. When we arrived at the hotel, Olivia and Jean-Pierre at the check-in told us they would do all they could to help us--and so they did. They called Hertz numerous times (turns out it was a brake problem!) and spoke to the complaint department for us in French. They managed to arrange for our rental car to be towed away and for us to get another car rental. I don't know how we could have arranged all this without their help!! They were amazing!!!
- Barbara (10/5): - Very clean, good breakfast and nice roomy facility.
- Amity (8/5): I recommend this hotel! - Fabulous location! Good service. Great breakfast buffet, More information needed on parking in advance.
- David (10/5): Outstanding! - Truly an outstanding location! The staff were helpful and friendly beyond measure. Beautiful grounds, very relaxing- one could spend the day lounging by the pool. Very comfortable room. Located just outside of town, but an easy walk. Very private. One of the best places we have stayed in Europe.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent! The staff, room, Hotel, environment and breakfast
were all perfect no criticism at all:)
We were happily surprised:)
Sincerely,
The Pattersons
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excelent place i will recomend it to my frinds when traveling here
- Alexander (10/5): Short stay in Roussillon - We originally booked for 1 night and ended up staying 3. The staff were very accommodating and allowed us to eat our picnic lunch in their dining room when we were unable to go out. The hotel is a bit of a walk from the village but is very well maintained and has nice grounds and a pleasant atmosphere.
- glenn (8/5): - Overall a nice experience. Breakfast somewhat pricey (13 Euro) Hotel a short walk to the town. The hotel itself is large with an expansive patio and small swimming pool. The room was clean with a large comfortable bed. Parking was free. The staff were kind and helpful. Otherwise, all went well and there were no significant complaints or flaws. I would recommend this hotel.
- Mary (10/5): - We had a well appointed, modern room in one of the loveliest spots that I have seen in France, so far! Breakfast, an additional 13 Euro charge, offered a large variety of breads, cheese, meats, eggs, and beverages.
- Mike (10/5): - Lovely staff, beautiful grounds, quiet and relaxing.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very nice stay. Would definitely return. - Very helpful staff and a nice location with an easy walk to Rousillon. Staff is very engaging and eager to make the stay enjoyable. Secured parking and very nice grounds and pool area.
- Joan (10/5): Best hotel stay of our trip to France - Amazing property, room, staff and owner. Good location with free, secure parking.
- Serge (10/5): - It sas excellent
- Katherine (10/5): Enjoy! - A lovely hotel in a beautiful area. Gracious hosts, comfortable room, with lovely grounds.
- Yo (10/5): Immaculately clean. Unexpectedly pleasant. - Based on the photos and the price, we weren't expecting to be wowed, but we were completely surprised by how pleasant and well kept this hotel is. It's spotlessly clean. Everything works flawlessly. This is a superbly well run establishment. The lady managing this place should be running a luxury resort.
