• Tadeja (10/5): A very beautiful house and garden. - A very good location close to the city centre. A beautiful building with a lovely and clean room, friendly staff, and a perfectly good breakfast. The surroundings of our house were very beautiful, with a wonderful blooming garden. Things at the reception feel slightly rushed and perhaps a little impersonal, but they do have a lot of guests, so that is probably the reason. Even so, they are friendly.

Las habitaciones son amplias, limpísimas y con enchufes de sobra. El parking en las propias instalaciones es un gran plus. Pero lo mejor fue el trato: llegamos casi a las 21:00h y el dueño nos recibió de diez, dándonos recomendaciones de pubs que seguían abiertos para cenar. El desayuno tiene mucha variedad y bastante fruta fresca, algo que se agradece un montón. Aunque el desayuno es muy variado, la calidad de los platos cocinados podría mejorar un poco. Por otra parte, la presión del agua de la ducha era algo floja, aunque entendemos que puede ser algo común en la zona.

For a traditional old stone building the modernisation had lost some of its character. Breakfast room was rudimentary and quite congested and in the adjacent building and so was reception.

• Simon (8/5): A lovely well-run hotel with very efficient team running it. - Our first room smelled of drains, so we were upgraded to a self-catering apartment. Staff were very helpful and the room was spotlessly clean. Refit of the main property meant having to walk to the hotel next door for breakfast. Didn’t feel 4 star to be brutally honest. There were scheduled roadworks outside and we were told we had to get our cars off site by 9am or we’d be trapped (this turned out to be untrue). We were informed 5 minutes before 9 on check out day and this led to a bit of panic and a not necessarily relaxing breakfast. Better communication would have avoided this.

The buffet breakfast offered a great choice and the hot food was very nice. The rooms were peaceful. All staff were helpful and pleasant; we would happily stay here again. Nothing to complain about.

Previously the owners provided everything you could need, slippers, tissues , biscuits, wine glasses etc etc. we didn’t even have shower gel in the containers, they were empty. No lovely pre ordered breakfast in the charming conservatory served by lovely staff. We had to walk in the rain next door to a canteen like help yourself crowded breakfast dining room.

Heerlijk ontbijt wat elke ochtend vers voor ons werd gemaakt, en aardig personeel! De waterleiding heeft te veel druk, waardoor het erg veel lawaai maakt als je de kraan opendraait.

Breakfast was hot food, well cooked and additional fruit/ toast/ cereals if required. The host Gordon took the time to talk to all guests during breakfast and gave advice when required or listened to your days plans. The hotel was well placed for the town of Pitlochry and easy to walk into town for shops restaurants etc. Nothing. It was a superb establishment and will stay again in future.

• Rob (9/5): Really nice location, good food and friendly staff - Had a really nice stay at the Claymore. It's located a short walk from the centre of Pitlochry and close to several nice walks. The staff were very welcoming and it was a nice touch at breakfast for them to come around all the tables asking about our stay and if we had any issues. It's a beautiful old building and our room was large and comfortable. With it being an older building, you could hear some noises from the pipes when people were having a shower in the morning, but this didn't bother us.
