- Claudia (1/5): - No tiene nada que ver con las fotos
- Kathe (10/5): Espectacular - El lugar muy limpio, todo bien aseado, la administradora muy atenta y querida, amable.
- Traveller (10/5): Exceptional - Very affordable place for backpackers.
- Luca (4/5): Disappointing - Didn’t feel good
- Kamal (7/5): Good -
- Kamal (9/5): Superb -
- Xavier (6/5): Pleasant - Bed bugs!! And no frigg and people take your food!!
- Noa (1/5): Bad - The price is great but you get nothing in return even if it’s just a few euros. Bed bugs! After we said we were leaving, the owner didn’t want to let us pass through the locked door and insisted we just take another room. Especially traveling as women, we didn’t feel safe here
- Ng (8/5): Very good -
- Daren (4/5): Disappointing -
- Rafael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rafael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sonam (6/5): Good base for a short stay exploring SM and nearby areas - Great location - right in the centre with lots of shops and the main plaza within walking distance
Quite in the evenings so able to sleep well
AC Breakfast was included, but it was really quite small
Some functional issues with the room - not bad enough for us request another room for the 2 nights we stayed, and staff did respond to this when we told them about it
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional -

- Abdel (4/5): I don't like this hostel. it's better to find somewhere else - Nice room with Tv. location is Ok Nice Hostel but needs some professional workers. The man in the reception at Night is not respectful and a bad communicator. Noisy people in the morning. I had to wake up and ask them to shut up . I don't know if this is a traveller hostel or for local families ! I'v seeen a bench of local families there !
No warm water in the shower
Poor Breakfast
- Ofek (4/5): Disappointing - Price, English speaking reception Location, no tuning water
- Kelly (6/5): Ok stay - good price/value. - Good price/quality. Aircon (only 7pm-7am in the room itself). Pretty clean. Friendly girl at the reception and good location. No sockets/storage/light next to the bunk bed. Not the typical hostel (many - mainly - men seemed to stay here for other reasons than travelling, could have been for work). Showers weren't really clean and no (dry) space to store towel/clothes/bag with towels and clothes in the cabin. Showers are in a hot/humid section so I didn't really feel fresh afterwards.
- Giovanni (9/5): Superb - Clean and comfortable, good location, very nice staff
- Amy (8/5): Minca - Fantastic location near the beach. Great to have Aircon and everything we needed. Big room with comfy bed. Breakfast was filling. Shower wasn't hot but not super necessary in this climate.
- Bastidas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Camille (6/5): Pleasant - Very affordable accomodation located close by from the bus to Tayrona and city center. Suitable only for a night. Before going somewhere else. The dormitory lacks some lockers and some security on the bunk beds. It was very noisy at night as some guests seem to have slept in the common areas.
- Alfredo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nancy (6/5): Dirty and loud - Location is good. Nice people Really dirty bedrooms and bathrooms. Also the noise from the tv... from 7 am to midnight on a way too loud volume. It was just one guy sitting there but just the volume made it really annoying because you hear everything. Not my favorite place. Didn't try the kitchen because the rest was already really dirty
- Luciano (10/5): Exceptional -
- Natalia (5/5): OK stay - The room was very spacious and also the bathroom, so that was great.
Air Con worked very well.
It is good place to stay the night. Walls had some mold on and need a bit of paint.
Breakfast - it was decent amount of food but everything apart from eggs was VERY sweet. We were not asked if we wanted sugar in our coffee, the lady just brought it sweet. Bread and cereal were very sweet.
No shower soap not shampoo as indicated on the listing.
- John (7/5): Good -
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jalylle (8/5): Very good -
- Guillaume (8/5): Very good -
- Carvalhal (1/5): An experience to forget! ⚠️ BEDBUGS and owner INSULTING me on my PERSONAL NUMBER days later! - The living room and balcony are nice, specially at sunset. But the good things end here The kitchen was in a very poor state, with the thrash piling up and no light. People needed to use a headlamp to cook!
The bedroom was only mildly clean, the bedsheets (although clean) had stains, and then we discovered the dorm beds were full of BEDBUGS. One of the travellers said he had been staying there for one month and he was used to them...
When confronted with the situation by several people, the staff arranged us another hostel at 1AM (Musa Paradisiaca, totally recommend) and payed for breakfast and taxi costs.
Nevertheless, three days later I woke up with WhatsApp audio messages from the HOSTEL OWNER (Andres) INSULTING ME for a review someone else wrote, when the review only described what happened. I tried imediately to clarify the situation, but he had already cowardly blocked me. These type of behaviours are unacceptable and the hostel should be banned from BOOKING.COM
I also hope life gives you what you deserve, Andrés.
- Dominga (5/5): Passable - Good location, although better take a taxi back late at night (especially on Sunday when everything around is close and quiet) Room wasn't the cleanest. And pretty poor breakfast (not much choice if you don't like eggs..)
- Brian (7/5): Good -
- Keating (1/5): ALERT FOR BED BUGS CHINCHES PUNAISE DES LITS The staff of the place is nice, but the hostal is not - ALERT FOR BED BUGS
CHINCHES
PUNAISE DES LITS
The staff of the place is nice, but the hostal is not clean (the kitchen is particularly bad, with the bin pilling up) and worst of all, bed bugs in the beds.
The staff gave provided us another stay and said they would desinfest, but the infestation is old as another guest told us the bugs were there for at least a month.
Absolutely do not recommend.
- Blagojche (7/5): Good -
- Pablo (7/5): Good -
- Julia (10/5): Exceptional - First of all - the staff was truly amazing and helped me in many ways of my staying at believer - thank you so much for being such a big part of my wonderful experience of Santa Marta and Colombia! I also enjoyed spending time with the people staying at the hostel as we cooked together and had our daily conversations. The location was great, right in the center and also near the mercado publico which I really appreciate. My room was clean and fresh, the kitchen and bathrooms as well.
- Melanie (7/5): Good -
- Morten (8/5): Very good - I liked the location. Beds are comfortable. You can buy a nice breakfast at the site.
- Gonzalo (10/5): Exceptional - The hostel is clean and nice, quiet and beautiful. The location is good, close to the bay and shops. The stuff is amazing.
- Papiashvili (7/5): Good -
- Livia (6/5): Pleasant - The staff was nice, free coffee, easy to reach the market to take buses to Tayrona, cheap, chargers by the bed My sheets had a lot of stains, the shared bathroom was unclean, the top bunk was very shaky and hard to climb on, the AC made my dorm be a freezer and in my friends dorm it didn't work at all, no lockers
- Oliver (8/5): Very good - Excellent location in the city center. Very good value. Chill people working there Even though we had to wait breakfast one morning for a long time and we did not get enough towels, the overall experience was good and I would stay there again.
- Mary (9/5): Superb - Safe, central location with fabulous staff. Close to all things in city center!
- Issybusy (7/5): Nice guys but showers and toilets need some work. - Location and bed
Friendly staff The bathroom and showers not very clean and need to be renovated.
No soap or anything to wash your hands.
People living with dogs 🐕.
No garbage bin inside the rooms.
- Andrew (1/5): Bad - We never actually stayed here because when we arrived we were told our room was not available and the hostel was fully booked. The hostel gave us no prior warning and they made no effort to try and help us find another place to stay. Very unprofessional.
- Stefanie (2/5): Very poor - Location is alright, short walk to the Bahia and close to the local buses. Helpful staff, got lots of recommendations. The bad was horrible. It seemed broken in the middle and it felt like sleeping on wood. My room was right next to the reception - no proper window and it was really loud…noise from the street and the night staff was blasting music until I asked him to turn it down. The room was so small, I had absolutely no space to put my staff and the bathroom sink was leaking. I had my laundry done at the place: they originally said 1000 pesos per piece, but actually did not count it and just charged me a random price. Worst thing about it: I was walking up to the terrace and saw my whole laundry scattered on the dirty ground. They did not care about the wind blowing it everywhere. It did not feel clean at all when I got it back.
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (8/5): Very good - Staff is great , very friendly and helpful,, the price of this hotel was great , very basic , very simple , very affordable
- Ashley (5/5): Passable - It's pretty clean and in a good location. My room was right beside reception and the staff were very loud at all times of the day and night. There's no real social area so it's hard to actually meet people at the hostel.
- Adrián (7/5): Good -
- Steffen (8/5): Very good - The hostel is really cheap and worth the price. The location is good in the historic Center. The AC was working good - not too hot and not too cold. The hostel looks a bit scetchy. It’s not the cleanest but it was ok. For the price you should not expect too much.
The breakfast was actually included but there was nobody there to prepare it for us so we had to do it ourselves. All in all the stay was okay and worth the money but if you want to have a really nice hostel in Santa Marta u should consider Masaya Hostel instead (but it’s 2 times the price)
- John (9/5): Superb - Clean and super cheap. I was only there on a stopiver and it was perfect.
- Adam (9/5): Superb - Comfortable bed. AC was wierd, i felt like in freezer.
Receptionists are very friendly and very nice. But one of them is sometimes loud.
But i liked my stay. Kitchen
- Lucas (4/5): Good location, but disappointing, and bad value even its budget price. - Convenient location, nice balcony, adequate kitchen. I should have been suspicious that they didn't post a photo of my room. It's listed as a "small" room, but it's so small the door doesn't open all the way because it hits the bed! The mattress is so smashed down you can feel the boards underneath when you lay down. The room has huge windows *into the lobby* meaning it is loud and you cannot make it dark. When lobby lights are on it is bright in the room. The towel rack was broken and there was no soap (they gave me a plastic cup of it when I asked). And they knocked on my door at 11pm as I was about to go to sleep because they needed my A/C remote for another room! Also there is no filtered water provided, nor a key to the front door—so you're dependent on them opening the door every time you leave or enter the building. Price was on the lower end, but still a bad value considering all of the above.
- Farrukhjon (5/5): Cheap but bad - Location is good, 10 mins walk from the old center Too hot. No fans during the day and no fan in general, only AC during the night, so many mosquitos, so impossible to sit in dining place and my food twice was stolen from the fridge
- Lieve (6/5): Pleasant - The room was cheap and spacious and the staff was friendly. The hygiene wasn't on point (in the kitchen and the bathroom) and the airconditioning was way too strong in the room (only the staff could change the temperature of it). They also didn't offer lockers to put your valuables away.
- Andres (6/5): Pleasant -
- Hh (9/5): Superb -
- Fabian (8/5): Great location - Nice room, spacious. Free coffee all day, couch-lounge and a terrace to relax. Super friendly and helpful stuff. Luggage can be stored for free if you're going to Tayrona, Minca or somewhere else. Super close to the main shopping road, bus station to Minca/Tayrona and just 5-10min walk to bars+restaurants. The area is a bit spooky at night as no one is on the street. Unfortunately the AC didn't work in my room but they put additional ventilators and tried to fix it.
- Paul (8/5): Very good - Good value. They looked after our bags for a few days in a locked cupboard. Front gate is kept locked at all times Floor in the bedroom was quite dirty
- Karen (9/5): Perfect for the price - It was pretty good for the price and breakfast included!
- Giles (10/5): Exceptional - Incredible value for money. Very nice clean spaces, good wifi, very friendly helpful staff. Location is good as it is very close to bus stops for Minca and Park Tayrona (meaning you wont have to carry bags far) and the corner of the block also has the buses to Tataganga. Also only a short walk into town and the bar/restaurant street. No complaints. Only suggestion would be placing a bin upstairs somewhere
