Guest Reviews
- Petra (10/5): - This place is so beautiful and decorated with the utmost care for details. Lots of lovely plants and birds - a gem in the middle of the city. And the breakfast! Fantastic, fresh fruit and so generous! If they only served dinner as well I would just never leave the place :-)
- Jane (9/5): We were only there for a night but it was lovely - It’s a beautiful room
- Terry (10/5): I was very satisfied with the accommodations and service. - the breakfast was excellent. We arrived early in the morning and had to wait for a staff member to unlock the gate. It would be better if we would have been able to call for service.
- Axel (10/5): Comfortable Place to stay in Mae Sot -
Misleidend.
- Hubert (9/5): -
- Rainer (8/5): - Für einen Aufenthalt in Mae Sot gute Lage. Erstaunlich ruhig trotz City-Location. Reichlich Parkplätze. Vernünftiges Frühstück.
- Martin (10/5): Great location, value and spacious rooms - An oasis in Mae Sot. Hosts exceptional in every way. Rooms adorned with fine woodworking.
- David (8/5): Nice place - Nice and cozy Instant coffee
- Jonas (9/5): -
- Ruegjitsang (8/5): - อาหารเช้า อิ่ม อร่อย การล็อคประตูจากด้านใน ควรปรับปรุง
- Thomas (8/5): Gerne wieder! - Das China-Flair! Ein Juwel, das man so in Mae Sot nicht erwarten darf. Perfekt für eine Übernachtung, wenn man auf der Durchreise ist. Etwas harte Betten
- Arkar (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (8/5): - A very oriental heritage ambience. Clean and homely, lovely family run with great hospitality. Loved it very much.
- Nic (8/5): Quiet and comfortable - Very good. would've liked a Burmese option and fresh coffee.
- Sai (8/5): - Try to check in before 10pm. Other than that it’s pretty quiet and peaceful.
- Timothee (8/5): Very good -
- Hiroko (8/5): Very good -
- Suparchoek (10/5): Nice place to stay. - We like everything. Nothing.
- Nyein (10/5): - Good place.Nice people.Five Stars

Very nice staff
Very good breakfast
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mike (8/5): I will stay here again, and with a few minor improvements it would make it even better. - Location was great. Staff was friendly. Lots of breakfast options. Fresh towels daily. Nice patio area to sit and work. Clean and tidy. Wifi was spotty. Topless women paintings everywhere. Sheets weren’t changed often enough. Dark bathroom lighting. Irregular shower water pressure.
- Kimberly Joyce (10/5): - The rooms were lovely, each with a small verandah and a canopy bed. The area around the hotel has small shops and restaurants. Delicious breakfast options were included with the room price. I’d recommend this hotel.
- Rob (10/5): Exceptional - Really beautiful, authentic Thai style rooms. Kept very clean with a comfy bed
- Saw (9/5): It was a very pleasant stay in. The owner are very friendly and kindly. - Clean and quiet. The location
- Monika (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing accommodation, like in a fairy tale. A family-run hotel, with helpful staff. Beautiful comfortable room, furnished in Burmese style. At the reception you can buy very nice pieces of Burmese goods (bracelets, fabrics, lacquered boxes). Great surroundings, there's a family soup kitchen across the street. The whole city has an incredible atmesphere where different peoples, Burmese tribes, mingle. We really enjoyed our stay. There is a geyser nearby and a nice waterfall. The advantage is that there are minimal tourists in the city.
- George (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lino (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sein (9/5): Superb - Overall, the accommodation, staffs are friendly and helpful. It is a quiet and number of rooms under 20. Easy car park at rear is very convenient. The location is next to a pond where it is likely the breading place of mosquitoes. May be mosquitoes Larvae eating fish might help with reducing the blood thirsty population :).
- Lawrance (10/5): - Like the cleanliness and quiet. Staff are very responsive and helpful.
- Margaret (8/5): Very good - The staff were very friendly and helpful! Room was clean and practically mosquito-free (did get a couple on my last night but I think it was my fault for not closing the door fast enough. They have bicycles you can use for free, and the location's great - not too far from bus station/airport but near the center of Mae Sot and the produce market too. Bathroom and shower were sort of minimal, but fine. Mosquitos in the breakfast area, but that's to be expected. Bed was fine, but nowhere else comfortable to sit in the room - chair was very hard.
- Timothy (9/5): Pleasant up-scaled accomodations in traditional Thai style with off-street rooms in a good location - Using brewed coffee and real orange juice would be a visible improvement All ok
- Kristina (10/5): Fabulous place - What a lovely place in the heart of town. All of the staff were amazing. We really enjoyed our stay here and will come again. There was nothing we didn’t like
- Iris (6/5): Pleasant -
- Simon (8/5): This was my third visit in nine years. I’ll be back again ! - Room design is very special. Breakfast was excellent. No opportunity to speak with the proprietor on the morning of departure. I would like to have reported two technical issues which he might or might not have been appreciated. First, in room 3, that of the seven outlets in the socket-outlet extension lead only one was working. It should be replaced. Second, the rapid on-off cycling of the water pump suggested that the integral air bottle was full or nearly full of water. It should drained to be replaced by air. As a retired guesthouse operator, I would always welcome constructive feedback from guests.
- Allison (9/5): Superb -
- Katherine (10/5): Excellent stay, comfortable rooms and 5 minute walk to center of Mae Sot! Highly recommended! - Very close to town, nice breakfast with all fresh fruits and very helpful owners. Lovely room with attached bathroom and open to sky shower! Beautiful atmosphere- will be coming back! Can hear rooster at 6 am-
- Kamran (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jonathan (10/5): Fantastic hotel, wonderful hosts, great pool, amazing garden, excellent value. -
- Claudia (10/5): Loved it!!! - This place was absolutely lovely, a gorgeous haven in a noisy drab area of town, the room was super comfy and the staff coudln't have been sweeter. By far the best of the 5 hotels I've stayed in this month -- and great value for the price.
- Luke (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bernard (9/5): Superb -
- Jeffery (9/5): Clean, comfortable and quiet, good value - Tranquil in spite of facing a main road, very good breakfast, clean and comfortable
- Thi (8/5): Very good - It’s one of the nice Pets friendly and highly recommended .
- Mark (3/5): Not very pleasant unfortunately. - Nice size Room and comfortable bed. Good bathroom with hot water. Plenty of on site parking. Breakfast was very ordinary. Although the place advertisers as pet friendly we didn’t get that feeling when we arrived. Within 10mins of arriving our cat ran out of our room, we went straight after him and got to the courtyard within a couple of minutes only to find the owner holding our cat by all four paws with plastic bags on his hands, dead. My wife was distraught and the owner wasn’t very sympathetic at all.We had booked and paid for two nights but left early the next morning, thought we might have heard from the owner and he might have offered a refund for the second night under the circumstances but nothing.
- Beverley (9/5): Beautiful, traditional style hotel. - Beautiful, Thai style rooms. Lovely staff. Nice breakfast. Great location.
- Penprapa (10/5): Exceptional - It is near center and nice room. room is comfortable quiet to stay. Nice and helpful
- Joss (10/5): A great stay in Mae Sot - Sparkling clean, spacious and nicely furnished. We had two rooms next to each other. Owners and staff were lovely. Good choice for breakfast and they were happy to adapt to vegan. Great location, walking distance to everything Mae Sot offers. We used as a base either side of a trip to the border - they were happy for us to leave luggage and even did our laundry while we were away. Would happily book again. Nothing
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional - The bathroom was amazing, nicely decorated and with a huge shower.
Comfortable bed.
Spacious room.
Great value for money (with also breakfast included). The position of the air co right on the top of the head but it worked fine.
- Wendy (8/5): Very good -
- Robert (10/5): - The only downside to my stay was that there was only instant coffee offered for bfast. The coffee houses down the street don’t open until 10.
- Tim (9/5): Superb - Staffs were kind and breakfast was great!
- Bill (9/5): Quite, comfortable place to stay for a reasonable price. - We stayed in the VIP room which was a large one bedroom suite. At night it was very quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was very good. Nothing
- Joanna (8/5): A great option for a stay in Mae Sot. Friendly staff and a quiet location. - The breakfast was good - we had a choice of a few different options, with Thai and more 'western' style plates. It was well located for accessing the town, and the setting was quiet.
- Ersin (7/5): Good -
- Ei (10/5): A nice place to stay - Nice location. Rooms are very clean and lovely. Staff are friendly and helpful. Nothing much.
- Ashley (10/5): Clean/ wonderful. - This was a wonderful place to stay. Extremely clean. So comfortable. Very spacious. The door & lock is a little old fashioned. Traditional Thai style double door with horizonal bar. But this is a very safe place. Quiet. Nice staff.
- Igor (9/5): Superb -
- Kezpl (8/5): Very good -
- Majidah (9/5): Thoroughly enjoyable stay - Very welcoming atmosphere, staff were helpful and met all our expectations. Really lovely breakfast and ambience and they went out of their way to help you. Not much! We really enjoyed our stay
- Ramsey (10/5): - Wonderful. Peaceful surroundings. Beautiful decor and architecture. Helpful owners who obviously take pride in the property and its upkeep. Delicious breakfast. My go-to choice for my business trips to Mae Sot.
- Lai (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jean (9/5): Superb -
- Ersin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ersin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thomas (9/5): Superb - All very good. Good breakfast choice. Mattress a bit hard
- Frances (10/5): Beautiful small family run hotel in traditional wooden building. Highly recommend. - Gorgeous shady traditional terrace at front for breakfast. Small room, Spotlessly clean with treed terrace, well-equipped with fridge, kettle, hairdryer, desk, had great well-functioning shower and aircon, and adequate Wi-Fi for light work and calls. 3 min walk from superb coffee shops and 7 min from town centre, great restaurants etc. Helpful owners. Bed was a little hard
- Martina (10/5): Exceptional - The hotel is very nice, we were welcomed very nicely, The rooms are very nice, quiet and clean. Generous shower. One of the most beautiful hotels in Thailand. Breakfast is very good. Really recommended.
- Ron (10/5): - Clean room, comfortable and quiet
- Karen (8/5): Very good -
- Alexandra (10/5): - Beautiful traditional property, extremely comfortable. Great location to explore Mae Sot. The staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfasts delicious. Will stay again.
- วรรณรักษ์ (9/5): Superb -
- Savidge (10/5): Exceptional - Really well run charming, quirky hotel. Beautifully done with care attention, making us feel really welcome. Thoroughly recommend. Nothing
- Julie (9/5): went back again a week later what better recommendation - fabulous rooms nothing it’s excellent
- Henry (10/5): For the money this is an exceptional stay. - Pre-order your breakfast the night before(about 8 choices), freshly cooked for you when you arrive for breakfast. We took the VIP room which was a delight; good sized living room, bedroom and bathroom. Beautifully decorated throughout, clean and everything worked well. Great staff. Such an excellent establishment deserves better coffee!
- Ron (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rosemarie (8/5): Staying in this hotel is a nice experience - In Booking.com we could only book the VIP room. It turned out that Irawadee Resort has only one VIP room, and that meant two rooms plus bathroom, whereas all the other rooms are single rooms. For us this was very convenient, because we could sit comfortably on the sofas and surf in the internet before going to bed. We also liked the wooden decorations in the room and throughout the hotel. This was special. We stayed two nights. Breakfast was good, but not exceptional. They only had coffee powder!
- Simone (8/5): great place to stay for a stopover enjoyed the breakfast - comfortable stay, nice sitting area outside, staff very friendly
- Jillian (8/5): Very good -
- Maxwell (8/5): - Peaceful place in garden setting.Just bed and breakfast, no other meals or facilities but a nice place to stay for a few days.
- Ellen (9/5): Superb -
- William (10/5): Exceptional -
- PO (8/5): - Great place/location and great price to stay in Mae Sot. The staff are friendly and tried their best to speak English and communicate with me. The room is clean but the bed is little bit firm. After all, I rated this place 7/10.
- Hannah (10/5): - Great service, great breakfasts. Rooms were a good size. Beds are harder than Western-style beds but still comfortable.
- Gordon (8/5): ood hotel - Lovely hotel. Good value for money. Very nice staff and good service. Would recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This was a lovely place to stay and the family running the resort were delightful and did speak some English, breakfast was freshly cooked and tasty. They were nice enough to hold my bags for me during the day after check out in their office.
The only downside I found was they don’t have an airport shuttle like the website mentioned.
- richard (8/5): A high quality stay if in the area - We have stayed in mae sot many times this was our first stay here though had a drink here 10 years ago. Friendly English speaking staff. 8 breakfast choices chosen the night before western and local versions. Rooms and hotel extremely clean and tidy. Shower a little local hot and cold variation. Clean towels and air con. High price locally but value for money for westerners and certainly at the top end of quality in this area. 10/15 mins walk to town and food only 5 mins away.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We had a very nice time. A nice boutique hotel with a nice breakfast set, recommended
- Verified traveler (6/5): Super clean, pleasant, poor wifi and location - This small, moderate accommodation has an unusually high standard of cleanliness, huge breakfasts, and fresh new linens. The owners are friendly. The staff is often grouchy. The architecture is a newish Thai style creately a lovely ambience. The intermittent wifi signal was the biggest drawback making it not an option for a traveller who needs to work or connect with home in their room at night. The dining area is noisy, being on the main road, but the rooms are quiet. It is slightly on the edge of town with no convenience stores and few eating choices within walking distance. Good value if in-room internet is not a requirement.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I liked the location and the ambience.
As I have a problem with my legs I did not like access to the bed which is very limited.
For English speakers the English channels on TV are limited to one.
