We were warmly welcomed and settled into our very comfortable room. Dinner in the restaurant was of a very high standard and we loved that the food was from the farm or local suppliers. It was a real gastronomic treat. We enjoyed talking to the owners learning more about the local area and history. • Imre (10/5): Lovely stay near the slopes of Voss - We had a really nice stay at the hotel, albeit it was just a one night stay for our group . The host staff (owners) were super attentive in a natural, easy going way and always made sure we were taken care of without it ever feeling over the top. All the food at the hotel restaurant was locally sourced—it felt fresh and thoughtfully prepared. And honestly, the scrambled eggs at breakfast were the best we’ve ever had. Overall, it just felt like a genuinely well-run, welcoming place near the slopes.

• johnbanchory (10/5): An unforgettable trip - My son (9) and I were lucky to spend a long weekend at this wonderful hotel. Svein and his family’s hotel, food and hospitality were exceptional. Their food is all freshly made, meat and fish cured on the farm, delicious breakfasts and dinners in the beautifully restored 16th century farmhouses (which have been in the family for 11 generations i think). This was my son’s first trip to Norway and the family’s tales of the area really brought it to life - even down to the viking tomb near the end of their road. Being situation on the hillside brought views up and down the valley. We skied each day, and appreciated the shuttle that our hosts offered whenever we asked. Whilst other larger hotels might be a wee bit cheaper, I fully expect the experience would be incomparable to Store Ringheim. We are already checking diaries for a summer trip back.

The meals were all excellent and we tried Aquavit (special Norwegian liquor) here for the first time at dinner. We had a large, cozy room with a wood-burning fireplace. The owner was kind enough to give us a ride to the Voss train station in the morning. Overall wonderful experience. Thank you for hosting us!

• Anna (9/5): Relaxing Stay - Comfy bed, quiet location. Used the shuttle to get to and from Voss (they will pick you up and take you wherever in town as long as you give them a little notice!). Beautiful views. Very peaceful. Restaurant was delicious for dinner. Bit far from town so spontaneous plans were hard to do. My room was below ground near the parking area, so privacy wasn't the best (couldn't have my shades opened when folks were coming and going).

• weeks (10/5): Beautiful ! - We had a wonderful stay at Store Ringheim Hotel og Restaurant. The room we had overlooked the hillside and was charming and very comfortable. The bathroom was wonderful and provided high end bath products. The staff was very friendly and helpful. When we arrived we were treated to a full rainbow overlooking the valley. We had the best meal of our 15 day trip to the Netherlands and Norway at this hotel. Everything that was served was presented in the most exceptional way and everything on the plate had a purpose in making the meal delicious.

• 808natalier (10/5): Wonderful Attention to Detail in a Gorgeous Location - Store Ringheim Hotell is a family run business and it shows in all the lovely detail and personal attention at every step. On the grounds of the family farm that has been in the same family for 10 generations, the landscape is idyllic and you could spend hours gazing at the mountains and valley below. While the buildings and style are quite humble, the decor is modern, handsome and very very comfortable. We stayed in a superior double and it was larger than any of the same category we’ve found elsewhere in Norway with a very comfortable bed and good pillows. We enjoyed a delicious four course dinner at their restaurant, featuring a wonderful mushroom soup made from wild mushrooms picked the day before, perfectly cooked steaks and a delectable chocolate fondant. Breakfast was typically generous in the Norwegian fashion with home made berry jams from berries picked on the farm and local mountains. I would absolutely stay again.

La nostra camera era in mansarda, con una vista sul verde e sul fiordo da togliere il fiato. Molto pulita, silenziosa, accogliente. Abbiamo cenato al ristorante dell’hotel ed é tutto squisito. Buona la colazione, forse mancano un po’ di prodotti (qualche yogurt in più, dei croassant), ma la qualità del cibo é comunque sempre ottima. This is a family owned property, and they even waited on us at breakfast. The family takes a lot of pride in their hotel - and it shows. If we come back to Voss, we will definitely stay here! Bedroom did not have AC nor a fan. There were no mirrors in the bedroom - only in the bathroom. No refrigerator in room. Everything else was amazing!

Sehr bequeme Betten, sehr sauber, sehr gutes Frühstück mit vielen selbstgemachten Produkten. Das Abendessen ist teuer, aber ebenfall sehr gut und empfehlenswert. Die Zimmer im Nebengebäude sind etwas hellhörig.

Frokost imponerte ikke (tørrstekt eggerøre som var skilt, tørt brød, kun en type melk, ikke så mye lokale spesialiteter som forventet). Servitørene var ikke av fagnivå en kunne forvente på et hotell i denne prisklassen (ikke utdannet innen restaurantfaget, kun sommerjobb). Litt rot i kommunikasjonen mellom restaurant og hotell. Rent og pent rom. Litt lytt ut til gangen og de andre rommene. God seng. God belysning/mørklegging. Nydelige baderomsartikler fra l’Occitane, men ingen hylle i dusjen (må ha alle såper på gulvet). God dusj. God parkering. Gode lenestoler på rommet. Ikke så mye utsikt som forventet fra rommene i redskapshuset.

• blazerg (10/5): Charming and peaceful retreat - Cute and cozy hotel. The grounds are beautifully kept with gardens and flowers and lots of "secret" places to sit and look at the mountains. I stayed in the "historic room". I don't remember it's name, but it's in all the photos. A wooden bed that looks like something out of Snow White or Sleeping Beauty. Unfortunately, it felt a bit like The Princess and the Pea. The mattress is not very thick or comfortable, but after a day of rafting and a day of hiking it felt good just to lie down. I had dinner in the restaurant one night and the food was quite good. Being vegetarian, they could really only offer the three course meal, but it was plenty, and delicious. The hotel is a bit far from the center of town, but if the timing is right, they will pick you up and drop you off. Otherwise, it is about a half an hour, and mostly uphill.

You won’t want to leave !! - Beautiful property in a very special location on the hill above Voss town centre. 20 mins walk downhill into town, free shuttle bus to hotel on arrival and departure from bus or train station. Gorgeous comfortable rooms with Loccitane toiletries, comfy chairs etc. wonderful restaurant with Michelin standard food, all sourced locally. Nothing! It perfect wish I could’ve stayed longer!

Die Außenanlage ist parkähnlich gestaltet mit vielen Ruhepunkten, dazu eine fantastische Aussicht. Der Service ist zuvorkommend, das Abendessen als Menü ist sehr zu empfehlen, ebenso das Frühstück. Leider waren wir auf der Durchreise und konnten nur eine Nacht in dem Hotel verbringen. Das Ringheim Hotel ist schon für den nächsten Aufenthalt in Norwegen vorgemerkt, aber diesmal für länger. Nichts, alles war OK

• Christian (7/5): Nette Unterkunft mit hervorragendem Dinner - Hotel liegt etwas ausserhalb auf dem Berg und somit mit schöner Aussicht. Zimmer ist eher einfach gehalten. Dinner ist hervorragend und unbedingt zu empfehlen. Sehr netter und unkomplizierter Check In. Frühstück war eher mager mit Butter und Brot vom Vortrag (vertrocknet) und sehr überschaubaren Mengen, die teilweise schon vergriffen waren. Unser enttäuschendstes Frühstück auf der Reise. Für die Leistung war das Zimmer auch für norwegische Verhältnisse überteuert. Betrifft Hotel nicht: wir wurden für diese Unterkunft wieder mal über Bookingkommunikation gehackt und aufgefordert auf Links zu klicken (Kreditkarte nicht verifiziert als Meldung obwohl Hotel bereits vorab über Booking gezahlt wurde). Von Booking wieder nur nach Ewigkeiten die Standardantwort. Sehr traurig, dass dies von Booking nicht gelöst wird.

• Laurenkom (10/5): Attention to detail and cozy atmosphere - We had a very comfortable and relaxing night at the hotel. We had dinner which was delicious. Our server Sonya was so welcoming and made sure our 11 year old son had a meal option that excited him. The room was cozy and quiet. We had a wonderful sleep. After a long day of hiking the warm shower and comfortable room were so appreciated. Breakfast the next morning was made up of salmon and meat smoked on site, homemade jam. It was fresh and delicious.

• orrinb2023 (10/5): Warm Hospitality and Great Food in a Cozy Setting - A cozy and memorable dinner at Store Ringheim! The 3-course meal was delicious, and the staff—especially our server Filip—was gracious and attentive. They accommodated my wife’s food allergy with care. The warm atmosphere and great background music made it a perfect evening. Highly recommended for a relaxed, high-quality dining experience.

• James (10/5): perfect location, highly recommended - wonderful stay, has the feel of a homestay or airbnb but with the professionalism, amenties and the restaurants of a hotel. Lovely location with gorgeous views, only a few minutes from town and there is a courtesy bus that will run you in/pick you up as needed. This was a lovely break from our mainly large hotel stay during our travels. Late checkout 12 pm meant that we could have a sleep in and not have to rush in the morning
• 995laurencer (10/5): Best Pace to Stay in Voss - Delicious farm to table meals, spacious accommodations, the best bed and shower we experienced during our time in Scandinavia (7 stops), and true hospitality--all these led to a very special experience in the unbelievably beautiful Voss. It is evident the care and high standards held by this family-owned business, and we were able to completely relax.

The property is very well maintained, well decorated, food is absolutely delicious and it was a delight to be staying hotel. It's worth going and experiencing this lovely place.

• soengvik (10/5): An Esthetic Sensory Pleasure & A Soulfilled Shelter highlighted by the best local food. - It was a 360 degree view of esthetic pleasure, exploring Store Ringheim! Awesome local food, which I had tasted too much of! Thanks to the chef and to Erlend! Lovely rooms for a good nights sleep, and the most wholehearted and serviceminded hosts in Jorunn, Svein and Erlend. A family putting their whole soul into this nest for rest, nourishment and beauty. I have been here twice, and look forward to next time at Store Ringheim. Enjoy!

• Mary (9/5): An experience we won’t forget, especially the food! - This is a special place with a wonderful tale to tell. Upon arrival, we were greeted by one of the owners who told us the history of the property whilst also proudly announcing himself as 10th generation of the farm. The room was tastefully decorated with a cosy, warm feel to it. We chose to have dinner at the Store Ringheim Restaurant, where all produce is sourced sustainably and locally. The menu was set and with each course came a story. We started with meat that had been cured since 2022! It was delicious! Breakfast was equally delightful and we left feeling well rested and fed. It was a short walk to Voss City Centre where there are coffee shops to enjoy. A really special experience and one that I would recommend!
