Our side sea view room was definitely cosy but was clean and comfy and the bathroom was large so we had no complaints! We will definitely stay again! Nothing we didn't like - Only thing we would have changed, is we would have paid the extra for a full Sea View Room!!

Brian (8/5): Good stay. Comfortable, food excellent, staff brilliant. - After a change of room (after the first night), all went well. Pleasant and very helpful staff. Good (buffet) breakfast and the dinner we had was excellent. Comfortable bed etc. After an initial setback with the room (size, double bed up against the wall necessitating climbing over my wife during the night when necessary). Size of bathroom and access to it. This was changed after the first night.
Duval (3/5): Not again - Breakfast was pretty good The room that we were given was so small you put the case down and you would not be able to move, to be fair the room was changed and we had sea view this hotel trades on the view but it is very tired and all the bling in the world will not make it any better run by a business person not a hotelier and the staff try their best. All the guest that had the blingy rooms thought it was great.

Jo (9/5): A lovely first trip to the Isle of Wight! - The staff were extremely helpful and friendly- especially sterilising our baby bottles for us and getting us a cot at the last minute. Breakfast was lovely and the man playing the piano was enjoyed by our 4 year old! A very relaxed atmosphere which was filled with warmth. Our room was great for the 4 of us- very comfortable beds. We can’t wait to visit again! N/A
Clare (8/5): - The staff are very friendly, when we arrived they had even upgraded our room for us. The room was clean and the beds were comfy. The most lovely thing about this hotel is when having breakfast in the dining room, they have a pianist playing classic well known songs, which along with the beautiful views of the sea, made it a magical experience, we will definitely return. There is nothing that I didn't like.

Sheenagh (1/5): What a Nightmare - Nothing! We arrived and had trouble parking as there is insufficient parking spaces for the amount of rooms and the parking around the hotel is very limited. There is no mention of this when booking. I was greated by the owner to the offer of an upgrade at an additional cost of £20 per night. Her reason was that she felt I would struggle in the standard room looking at me and that the shower was very small. My husband and I looked at both rooms and felt that the standard room we had booked was ok especially as it had already cost £910 for 7 nights. The upgraded room was a family room which had a double bed and bunk beds. The shower was in the bath so not what I considered an upgrade. The owner then insisted we have that room at no additional cost. The rooms were very bland and looked like they hadn't been decorated for a number of years. The ceiling was stained with damp water marks, the curtain rails did not fit the windows and the view was of the car park with the sea in the distance. The wardrobe doors could not be opened fully as there was not enough room. The table and chairs were a dirty faux leather bar table that had a very rusty base with 2 very small bar stools. There was a small flat screen TV on the wall which could only be viewed from the double bed. We then found that it did not work. The bed also did not have a mattress protector and there was thick distance along the velour head board. Cleaning standards very sub standard. In the bathroom the toilet roll was not on a holder but in a large dispenser which would be better placed in a public toilet and to reach it you needed to be a contoronist. Not what you expect in a hotel in the en-suite bathroom. Due to the standards of cleanliness, the lack of a mattress protector and the insinuation by the owner, i was too fat for the standard room we decided not to spend even a night! The lack of mattress protector was the final straw. The cleanliness was not just confined to the rooms.
Maria (9/5): Overall we enjoyed our stay, great location lovely manager and staff. - The location is perfect, I was lucky enough to secure the most coveted room with gorgeous view of the sea. The manager was so lovely, all smile all the time, always willing to help and talk to all customers. The place (carpets) is a little dated but overall it is clean. The mattresses needs changing to a better quality at its not firm at all which cause a bit of a back ache.

The Hotel is at a lovely spot, very enjoyable having breakfast in the conservatory overlooking the Sea. Salma's energy and flair for design is most apparent in the Reception area. Would highly reccommend this place and hope to see you again one day.

Clare (4/5): Beware! - The seaview, thats it! The pictures of the room we booked were not the room we were given. Upon arrival, there was nobody to be seen. There was a note on the reception desk to call a mobile number for check-in. The room was decorated very cheaply, it's shabby, the wallpaper is coming off the walls, the furniture is mis-matched, and an attempt to make the drawers look more modern with cheap plastic furniture wrap is unstuck. The shower cubicle was smaller than a phone box, and the shower head was brown. I could go on... there was only 1 redeeming feature for the room, and that was the beautiful seaview! The breakfast was plentiful and typically British, but the quality of the produce was again cheap! Although we tried the cooked breakfast items on day 1, we stuck to toast the rest of the stay. There was a posh coffee machine, but the day my husband decided to try it, he was told 'sorry the lady who does that is off, so you can't have one'! We saw nobody eat there in the evenings the entire length of our stay (4 nights). For the £160 a night we paid, we feel very ripped off. I just cannot understand the many positive reviews because the whole place is drab, tired and definitely not worth half of what we paid.

Darren (1/5): Avoid at all costs. - This hotel was very very run down, the carpets were extremley dirty and stained throughout the hotel, the bathroom door didnt fully open as it was hitting the bed, toilet seat was loose, the toilet roll holder was hanging off the wall, Paintwork was peeling and a strong musty damp smell in the room and corridors. We were upgraded to a " delux " room with sea view. The room looked out over a car park and into the bedrooms of the hotel next door. The room was so small for a Delux i cant even imagine how small the standard room would have been. There's a reason why its cheap.
Biva (10/5): A great place to stay with great views - The place had amazing views, and the staff were amazing! Shoutout to Salma! She was very friendly and accommodating! The place had fairly decent commodities for the off-season period. Will definitely go there again if we travel back to Isle of Wight!

Nigel (9/5): Bloody brilliant and very friendly. - The whole experience was just brilliant, from the moment we got there we were treated like we had been there a hundred times by Salma the proprietor who was just the nicest person/hotelier that i have met in many years. The room was ultra clean and had a fabulous sea view and was very well appointed with everything that you could think of. The breakfast was amazing, plenty of well cooked food and lots of choice, served in a buffet style so you could eat as much or little as you wanted. Thanks Salma we will see you next year for quite a few weekends away on our favorite island. Having to leave the place.

Valerie (9/5): Better than expected…..partly due to fabulous weather in October which meant we could make plenty of use of outside spac - The position was exceptional, directly overlooking Shanklin beach and with an uninterrupted view of the coastline, plenty of little garden spaces to relax in. The whole place was scrupulously clean and the staff were welcoming. Breakfast was everything you could hope for from yoghurt to plentiful full English. Quirky and attractive decor made a real statement! Nothing we disliked

The hotel is in a good location with it being close to the seafront and Shanklin town. The hotel is not staffed at night so it was difficult to access the hotel to check in after 10pm.

The walls are thin so from the middle floor rooms you can hear people on the top rooms and next door rooms.

Tracey (3/5): Well below expectations. - Location of hotel is good with great views. The room we had this year was below what we expected. We stayed last year and had no complaints. However this year it was very different. The room was damp. The bathroom window didn't close. The wallpaper was coming away from the walls. There were cobwebs all over the ceiling lampshade. There was a blood stain on the bedside lampshade. Twice when we went for breakfast there was mouldy bread. Not a pleasurable stay at all and won't be going back again.
Sarah (6/5): Good location and easy for bus routes etc - Staff and location great Hotel very dated, pillows uncomfortable and hotel in urgent need of a lick of paint/refurb If they had the funds to have a refurb they could easily charge more for the hotel but not right now. The breakfast was not nice, we ate out on day two.
