• Helen (2/5): - Arrived and I got told I had booked two rooms, and four breakfasts which obviously was a mistake. Whilst I was on the phone in the lobby trying to sort it out they took the money for both rooms and the four breakfasts off my card! WTH I was trying to sort it out. You had no authorisation to do that especially not the breakfast. Expedia called them they agreed to only charge half for the room. I went back to the desk agreed to pay half for the unwanted room and cancel all the breakfast at which point the arrogant manager just said he is cancelling my entire booking and find some where else to stay and my credit got the rooms will take up to 5 days I think he was hoping that I didn’t have money for another hotel room. Shame really because this is my normal go to hotel. I’m sure it could have been sorted out. But every disappointment is a blessing found another hotel which has now become my new recommended go to hotel. Still not got the refund but I had a great night in hull thanks
• David (6/5): - The overall hotel was clean but our shower had dirt stripes in it when we first entered the room. The staff was very helpful and friendly but overall it wasn't the greatest when it came to sleep due to the amount of noise from the hotel itself.
• Ian (10/5): Great Hotel - Great Hotel, all the staff were friendly and welcoming, very helpful and alway polite and courteous. The rooms were clean and fresh with a modern feel to them.
• victoria (10/5): - Fantastic stay. Room was cold but easily solved by turning off the air conditioning. Breakfast was excellent both in terms of choice and quality and all attractively laid out. The hotel is a bit further from the station than we'd anticipated but we'd definitely stay again as the quality and facilities were so good.

• Ann (10/5): Fabulous hotel, spotlessly clean - Fabulous stay, spotlessly clean and very stylish hotel. Room was gorgeous, bathroom great, lovely shower and so clean. We had a few drinks in the bar and the rooftop bar, both were really nice and felt really cosy to sit in. Breakfast was great, lots to choose from. We would definitely stay here again and thoroughly recommend this hotel. You wont be disappointed

• Daniel (8/5): Nice - Great hotel. Unfortunately air con wasn’t working and you can’t open the windows for fresh air. Although it’s hardly the hotels fault the weather was so hot. Good hotel, would recommend when it’s not 30c outside.

The gym is good and the bars in the lobby and upstairs are great. Breakfast is excellent. Location is great for the shops and train station, a 5 minute walk. Highly recommend.

Room excellent including washroom. No mirror above dressing table for hair drying. Big mirror but no socket near it. I stripped the bed sheets off before departure ,as I always do. Mattress protector had a massive stain on it. Breakfast £17.00 per person. Was excellent loads of choice, bacon was very under done for us. Coffee and orange juice was awful. Staff were all so friendly, polite and helpful. Would definitely use this hotel again.

• Mark (10/5): - This is the only hotel that we have stayed in so far that has comfy carpets. We loved the walk in shower and regret not having used it, we stayed for one night and didn't really need it. Lots of different lighting options which was good. And a proper chocolate cookie to welcome us to our very first stay at the Hilton in Hull.

Breakfast was wonderful too, fresh pastries and fresh hot buffet. Our only disappointment was the restaurant evening meal, overpriced and luke warm food, not at all like the fabulous description on the menu. We wished we had not been so lazy and found a local independent restaurant which is our usual mo.

• Robert (8/5): Nice stay in Hull - Short stay overnight for our anniversary. Evie on the desk was very welcoming, and again the next day when checking us out was very friendly. The gentleman on the bar on Sunday night was lovely too, made my wife a nice cocktail and just generally built very good rapport. All other staff were friendly but those two stood out. Nights sleep was alright, the pillows weren’t great, they didn’t provide much support and it felt like my head just went through it, my wife agreed. Other than that a really nice room. Breakfast not bad, service very pleasant again, bacon was a bit overdone but I appreciate we went in last minute when they won’t have been adding fresh items. Decor around the hotel was lovely, really is a nice place, well dressed up for Christmas!

• Steven (4/5): Ruined our stay - We were given a roon that was extremely noisy apparently the ac was right above. We rang reception and they said they would move us straight away. An hour later we were still waiting and rang again no answer so had to go down the girl on reception knew nothing about it. Eventually we were given another room but we had to rush around like lunatics as we had reservations in 5 mins Totally spoilt our stay

• Verified traveler (10/5): Great location, uncomfortable bed - Good location. The room need a bit of a makeover to refresh the Deco and colour. The breakfast was very average with a few selections of food. The bathroom didn't have air vent. After the shower the whole room was steamed up and damp. The mattress in the bed was awful. The most uncomfortable bed that I evet slept in. I felt absolutely exhausted after waking up loads of times at night due to the discomfort. The staff are friendly and nice.

Complained in the morning and they told me I should have called reception and changed rooms… at 2.30 in the morning, like it was my fault which made me feel even worse. I don’t think anyone would be up for changing rooms at that hour. Disappointing stay.

Room was very confortable and clean, but didnt come with fridge(you can ask for one), room service is very expensive, does have AC but shuts off during the night so woke up sweating each night, cleaning service comes early(930) so couldnt get room cleaned half the time, and the TV needs apps or smart hook up for movies or shows.
• Younes (6/5): Not up to standard anymore - It seems like the standards have dropped in recent months. Room service is not great, you pay more and get less compared to a few months ago. I was being charged for breakfast although I had already paid for it when booking, so I had to provide proof before it was deducted.

• Peter (8/5): - Accessible room was furthest from the lift. Bathroom one of the best equipped i have used. The Receptionist had to help with my bags. The room was clean and comfortable. However it was not serviced during my two day stay. On the whole the food was good, but i did have one sandwich with chicken that was partly uncooked. They have to remember that not everyone is electonically knowledgeable.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Check-in and breakfast process was challenging - Good stay overall. However, the check-in and breakfast process left much to be desired. First of all they couldn't find our details even though we had the email and booking reference. Secondly, we were told we had not paid for breakfast even though our booking clearly included it. These issues were rectified with apologies from the team but shouldn't have happened in the first place.

• Richard (4/5): - We booked 5 nights at the Doubletree Hull but our stay was spoiled due to the bed which was so firm and uncomfortable leading to a reoccurrence of a an old sciatic condition for my wife. We were informed that all beds were the same in the hotel so changing room would be unlikely to resolve the problem and we seriously considered abandoning our trip accordingly. The staff did help by adding a duvet on top of the mattress acting as a topper but this only partly resolved the problem. We would have checked out early if we hadn’t booked using a non refundable tariff so we ended up purchasing a thick mattress topper for the bed from a local superstore to ensure we were able to sleep more comfortably.

It's not convenient. Hotel employees can enter from a rear door facing the parking lot. Why not residents too?? We ate dinner on property and it was good enough. Not excellent, but good
• Catriona (8/5): Lovely hotel, walkable to everything we wanted - Gorgeous room. Annoyingly few tea bags and milk sachets provided. Lovely toiletries. Didn’t get to use the rooftop bar on a sunny day as was closed for private party which was a shame. 10-15 min walk to everywhere we wanted to go: The quay restaurants, New Theatre, the Minster, the Polar Bear Club (fab live music in small pub setting!)

• Mike (8/5): Highly recommended - We live locally (Beverley) but due to attending an event in the city and other friends staying we decided to do the same. Reception staff on arrival were particularly friendly & welcoming. Very apologetic about the systems being down at the time of our arrival which couldn’t be helped, these things happen. The complimentary warm cookies were a nice touch. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was tasty with plenty of choice. My only quibble, but this isn’t exclusive to your hotel, would be the cost of drinks at the bar. I found the prices of most hotels to be unnecessarily expensive. This may be an area the hotel chain could look at to set themselves apart from other bigger name hotels. That said, it didn’t spoil our stay and overall it was a pleasant experience.

No sign saying private or anything to close that to hotel guests really was annoying and rude. Always go for a drink there when stay if going to close areas and turn paying guests away should inform so I can book somewhere else
• MARTYN (8/5): EXCELLENT HOTEL LET DOWN BY A POOR BREAKFAST - Great hotel in good location. Ate at the Marco Pierre White Restaurant, which was excellent. The only let down was the breakfast which was very disappointing. The bacon had off colour dark patches( I believe caused by formation of metmyoglobin, a pigment that turns meat brownish-red due to long exposure to light). The herby sausage was excellent but when I started eating the second it had an unpleasant flavour, so I left it. The fried eggs were way over cooked and were hard like boiled eggs.

• Gillian (10/5): - Great property with lovely rooms, cannot fault this hotel, we have stayed here many times. Great location if you are visiting hull truck theatre as it is almost next door. Will definitely stay again.
• Caroline (8/5): - Lovely rooms, breakfast very nice. Parking was expensive and hard to find but that’s the only downside. Easy walking to shopping centre and theatre
• Alex (8/5): - Staff were very helpful and sorted out any issues we had. Only issue was the electric car charger didn't work.
