Out of season so was nice and peaceful and the pool was there if you wanted a dip. Short walk to the poo t for a surf and everything in town easily accessible. Overall a great experience. Nothing.

• Iestyn (4/5): - At first glance on Booking and Expedia, the photos suggest a luxurious boutique stay, but the reality did not match. For the price, the standard felt closer to a budget hostel. The bathroom was grubby, with only one towel each, no hand towels, and a floor towel that needed replacing. Fixtures were old, with rusty shower heads and taps, and there were cracks in the walls. Rooms were sparsely furnished and the kitchen/restaurant area looked unclean, with staff often sleeping in view of guests. Housekeeping was poor. The cups from our welcome tea stayed on our balcony for the entire stay, and the doors were shabby, some not closing or locking properly. The pool umbrellas were worn, stained with bird droppings and full of holes, not a pleasant view from the balcony. There were positives. The location is ideal, right on the beachfront, and the staff were friendly, offering free breakfast each morning. However, with so many inviting cafés nearby we chose to eat elsewhere. What disappointed most was the gap between the photos and the reality. If it had been advertised as a hostel I would not have minded as much, but the presentation and price raised expectations it could not meet. With a deep clean, basic maintenance, fresh paint, and small touches like new linens and working locks, the property could quickly improve. For now, the location is its strongest feature, but the care and detail expected for the price are lacking.

• Eric (6/5): Agréable mais pas à la hauteur des autres hôtels du Sri Lanka. Le personnel reste la plus value - - la localisation est parfaite. - le personnel est adorable et disponible - l’accès à la plage - l’hôtel manque d’entretien sur les infrastructures (chambre vétustes, douche, les transats etc) - la piscine n’a pas été disponible pendant l’ensemble de notre séjour, nous l’avons appris à notre arrivée. Une piscine d’un hôtel à côté à été mise à disposition mais elle n’était pas à la hauteur de celle de notre hôtel. Aucune réduction n’a été appliquée, la piscine devait être prête au bout de 48h.
• Emalka (1/5): This place is a scam!! Luxury prices for budget accommodation - Location wise its perfect right by the beach and in the middle of all the bars and restaurants. I regret to say that the overall experience was quite disappointing. Considering the price and the claim of being a "luxury" establishment, the rooms were surprisingly basic, even falling short of budget standards, with uncomfortable mattresses, pillows, and unpleasant odors in the restrooms. Furthermore, the pool facility, which was a key factor in our booking, was not operational during our entire three-day stay. We feel that the pricing is not justified, and perhaps Booking.com should conduct more thorough evaluations of properties before setting rates. This was an extremely disappointing experience that significantly impacted our vacation after traveling a considerable distance for a beach getaway.
• Jean-Alexandre (1/5): Notre séjour à Arugam Bay était magnifique, parce que nous avons quitté ce logement. - L’emplacement est très bien. Rapport qualité/prix, sans doute le pire d’Arugam Bay. Avec ma copine, Notre séjour était prévu pour 5 nuits, nous sommes restés que 2 nuits dans ce logement. À moins de 200m à la ronde on trouve des choses moins chères et avec un bien meilleur standing. L’accueil très froid dans un hall d’entrée très low cost. A l’image de tous le terrain autour des chambres. Des objets traînent, l’endroit paraît très mal entretenu. La piscine inutilisable et dangereuse, une couleur qui a viré au vert tout au long de la semaine. Concernant la chambre : aucune isolation sonore, les rideaux ne sont même pas occultants à 100%, la salle de bain, après une douche seulement dégage une odeur très forte, sans doute due à l’évacuation des eaux. Bref, cet endroit, s’il était à 40 EUR/nuits, n’aurait rien à redire. Cependant, aujourd’hui, il est au prix de très bon logements de la zone sans en proposer le même niveau de qualité. Je ne le recommande pas du tout.

The pictures in booking are not the reality of this place. we do not recommend this place to anybody! We cancelled our nights there the moment we found a better place to go to on such short notice. A nightmare of a place, also it was not cheap, there are much better and cheaper hotels to stay in arugam bay

Для шезлонгов мягкий матрас отсутствовал, или был не очень приятный к использованию. Цена при бронировании была одна, а по факту списали на 200$ больше. Почувствовала себя обманутой, очень неприятный осадок
• Ingrid Sylthe (10/5): Beachside hotel with beautiful pool - We were 2 couples that stayed at Roccos for 2 1/2 weeks. Beautiful pool area, excellent service and really good food! We had breakfast included and tested all the tasty Sri Lanka dishes. The staff are all really friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay at Roccos if/when we return to Arugam Bay <3

• Karen (7/5): Relaxing apart from the itching - Location was fantastic and staff were helpful and very friendly. Unfortunately, I ended up with bed bug bites and one of the staff said he could change the mattress, then the manager said they were ant bites not bed bugs and that they didn't have bed bugs. Consequently the mattress wasn't changed. However, I know what bed bug bites look like, two or three in a line and these were definitely bed bug bites. So that was a bit disappointing.

Food takes ages to prepare. Very basic facilities at the hotel. Lovely structured hotel and can be made an up trend hotel if there were more facilities. Beautifully constructed rooms. Very basic facility. Dogs invade the privacy. Not clean and toilets drains get clogged all the time.
• Arjun (7/5): Value for the money spent. - Property is right on the beach with amazing access. Location was just a hot spot. Pool was basic but it was fine. Rooms and the buildings are constructed just perfect but poor maintenance and very low facilities. Staff were Super Amazing. Friendly and accommodated almost all the requests with a lot of courtesy. For us, the highlight was the staff and I think they are the hotel's strength. Not clean, Washroom clogs up all the time with blocked drain. Dogs are a menace and invades the privacy. I could not enjoy my stay and relax. Basic rooms and facilities. Kitchen is very slow.

• Tania (6/5): - The staff were friendly and lovely. Unfortunately, the place was not great. We had no WiFi and the rooms were not that clean. Lots of dust under the bed and old sheets. They had dogs all over the property and there were two dogs that would chase people walking along the beach. No curfew at the pool and all the rooms face the pool. I was up past 10:30 listening to people in the pool. No kettle, tea or coffee in the rooms, but the staff did make tea for us and we did not get charged for it. If the rating was just on the staff I would give it a 5.

We had lunch, dinner and breakfast, it was fantastic The reservation office person (Lady) was terrible, I talked to her for some details and information, she was very rude. I hope she will improve the service better. The bathroom has big molds.

They were extremely friendly and always willing to help! Even got really nice fresh pineapple drinks on check in and warm teas in the morning for free! The swimming pool was clean and quite big, the beach was only walking distance away which was nice and restaurants were close by for food. Very accessible and convenient. I can’t think of anything
• Kushan (9/5): A pleasant stay - Just got back from a lovely weekend getaway at Roccos. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. It really made the experience that much better. The views from the place were amazing, too. My stay was a true escape from the everyday, thanks in large part to the hotel's dedication to a comfortable atmosphere. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a truly relaxing getaway.
• Yuval (1/5): I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and clean stay. - The only good thing about this hotel is the pool. I’m very very disappointed. The whole stay, there is a strong, unpleasant drain smell in the room that persisted throughout my stay. There is mold in the bathroom and also unbearable noise from the toilet and from the low maintenance that made it impossible to sleep, and I could hear guests outside my room all the time, till late hours. Additionally, the room is very dirty and dusty. I have stains on the bedding, and no one came to change the towels even though I asked for it, which made me question the overall hygiene. Also the door is broken. I expected much better for the price I paid. We paid 112$ per night when other people paid 40-60$ per night and the manager didn’t give us a good answer for that, and didn’t agree to get us a refund.
• Rami (7/5): Nice staff and excellent stay - Beautiful place in general for a great price . The staff was amazing and extremely helpful. We had a room with 3 beds 2 out of the mattress were nasty with black stains. I figured it out because I drops accidentally some water on the bed and the blanket became yellow instantly. I recommend to change the mattress in the place because it was extremely disgusting 🫣 (Just imagine a abandoned mattress in a dumpster) The water in the bathroom isn't stable. And the shower head was broken.

The worst case is that the hotel charges for breakfast, but the so-called breakfast starts at 9 a.m. There is no front desk or anyone available to talk to or get something done until 9 a.m

• Anonymous (2/5): Sleepless nights - The location beach side with a pool and chairs in the beach is the best bit - but located on a busy part of road street side and for breakfast etc very noisy Our rooms were at the street side and were so noisy! Also basic rooms and very unclean - one of the most expensive places - would expect so much more.
• Natasha (10/5): Fantastic hotel in Arugam Bay - perfect location right on the beach with pool and lovely clean rooms - amazing staff too - We loved our time in Arugam Bay thanks to the kind and helpful staff at Roccos! Beautifully presented hotel right on the beach, with a large clean pool and sun loungers around it and on the beach for private hotel usage. The rooms were simple but comfortable with fans and AC and everything you need for your stay. Everything was kept immaculate and clean and we could ask for fresh towels and sheets as often as we liked. The hotel staff also provided you with towels for the pool / beach, welcome drink on arrival, accommodated our request for a early check in, and arranged for a special meal close by as we had just got engaged. Would definitely recommend and hope to come back soon!
