- Hui Meng (9/5): - The guesthouse offers a sense of tranquility amidst the bustle; a short turn around the corner will take you to the attractions and pedestrian street within the town.
- Isabelle (9/5): Nice hotel in quiet location, but downstairs rooms are not very private - Staff were nice and great location up a quiet street in the north of the old Town. View from patio on 2nd floor is very nice and rooms are nicely decorated with good shower etc. only regret was not booking a room on the top floor as the downstairs ones are not very private - the only window looks out into public area. Room is quite dark too and duvet wasn’t very thick. Overall still a good stay.
- Han Sui (8/5): Comfortable stay in a safe environment - Very good location near the main road so one doesn’t need to roll their luggage on the cobbled pathways for more than 150m (extremely hard to roll luggages). The remaining path to the accommodation is concrete flooring. Toilet has a washlet!!! So rare in China, absolutely loved it. Owner of property is friendly and helpful. Just outside is a Chagee and famous flower biscuit shop. Sound proofing is poor especially ground lower floor, can hear movement and talking from above. Can also hear the flushing sounds. Split shower and toilet is inconvenient for me (personal preference).

I learnt a lot about the area, the attractions, bus schedules, etc. They also provided great service in booking attractions or transportations. Nothing, it was great!
- Marlene (10/5): Comfortable and convenient! - The property is located within the ancient town but away from all the crowded areas - it’s quiet, convenient and near to the entrance to call for Didi. We were grateful to have our accommodation upgraded and we enjoyed the room a lot! It’s clean, well-furnished and had a really lovely view of the mountain. The front desk lady, 小青, was also very friendly and helpful. The most value-for-money choice in Lijiang and I’ll definitely recommend it!

- Guest (10/5): Amazing! - I had a wonderful stay at Jianshe Inn Lijiang. The location is absolutely perfect, just a short walk to the Old Town of Lijiang, making it very convenient for exploring. The accommodation itself is cozy, clean, and very well taken care of — you can tell a lot of thought goes into maintaining the place. What impressed me most was the hospitality of the owner. Even after I had checked out, she went the extra mile to help me with locker storage at Kunming station. She kindly lent me her Chinese phone number so I could store my luggage there, which was a huge help and made my travel much smoother. Overall, Jianshe Inn is not only a lovely place to stay but also run by someone who truly cares about her guests. Highly recommended! None. Everything was flawlessly good and great.

It is a lovely place with a great view of the sunset and the town (if you’re staying on L2). The sisters who run this place are extremely friendly and helpful. There is even a call-in massage service as well! Just note that the shower and toilet are separate but it’s not a big issue.

She keeps in touch by wechat and she answered all our requests. She made our stay so much easier! The room is really spacious with comfy beds. The view is outstanding. I miss my mornings, when I just stared out of the window on the ancient city rooftops. The location is great- very centrally located yet you just make 1 turn from the buzzlin street and it's absolutely quiet. We had best nights there. Also during the whole stay i never locked the room and we were out till late. This is how safe it is. Priceless. I am the host myself and usually approach the hotels with high demands, but this time there was nothing to complain about. I purely enjoyed everything.

The room was spacious, clean, and came with excellent amenities, including a nice bathtub and a Japanese bidet toilet. Housekeeping was prompt and consistent every day. A special thanks to Ms. Xiao Qing at the reception. She was very welcoming and went out of her way to help us plan day trips to the best spots in Lijiang. Her local tips made our visit much more enjoyable. The highlight was the breathtaking mountain view from the room — a perfect start to each day. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Lijiang!

Before checking in, it’s a good idea to contact the hotel via WeChat to get the exact location. If you’re looking for halal food or local attractions, just ask the owner – they’ll gladly share all the info you need! The room was super cozy – perfect for relaxing after a full day exploring. One of the best moments was when I felt dizzy after Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, and the owner served me a cup of tea – it was so good that I immediately felt better! The hotel can also help book your Jade Dragon Snow Mountain tickets and arrange a driver to your location if needed. The hotel’s location is perfect, right behind Lijiang Old Town – it was amazing to take evening strolls there. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this hotel to my friends who plan to vacation in Lijiang. Truly, a great stay!

Only caveat is that if you have luggages, it’ll be a challenge to carry them through (but the staff can help contact a tricycle to help you deliver the luggages with extra cost.) The staff was the best! She helped us get to all the good restaurants, get us cars to and from airport, and even find us a massage place. The property was cozy and clean. No complaints!

They booked for us and arranged the best tours for the JDSM and Shagri-la at very last minute. The staff members speak good English and that really helps us a lot. The accommodation provides self-service free laundry as well. The room is clean, spacious and heating system works well. Location is very strategic in the ancient town. Please contact the staff upon your arrival so that she can arrange the porter for your luggages. Thank you so much for your kind assistance and this will be our stay in Lijiang whenever we are here again. Nothing I could think of.

- Siew (7/5): Not satisfactory stay - Location is good, near north gate, 3 mins walk from the road side to the accom, as cars are not allowed into the old town. The housekeeper recommended a tour group which is not satisfactory. The tour guide was messy and didn't communicate well. Also felt that the housekeeper kept pushing us to take tours and want to recommend us to buy some souvenirs like flower pastries, and kept dissuading us from touring ourselves or taking public transport. Please be discerning and make your own decision. Also we paid for a room with bath tub but it wasn't working. They gave us plastic covers to cover the lid...we gotta soak in plastic.

- Nipa (9/5): Superb - Room cleaness and the toilet is automatic toilet seat. The manager and staff were quite helpful, kind (we got extra drinking water every day of our stay), even the language was still a bit problem. This place is in the North side of the old town, which is more quiet than the South side. If you like a peaceful rest time in the night, this place may answer the question. The hot water shower had to wait to let it be ready to use (the property has put a sign inthe shower box, but it is in Chinese, which would be better to do both English and Chinese)

- Joey (8/5): Comfortable stay but unresponsive staff - We stayed not in the property as described as they communicated having heating issue to the room we were assigned to and moved ua to the owner's house in a quiter area. This was a plus. Very clean and comfortable for our 3-nigts stay. Big room in Japanese setup and bathroom. Hearing was an issue as it was perpectually cold with floor heating and with wooden construction there were gaps between leaking cold air into the room. Other issue we were irritated by were the staff were communicative before check-in and once we settled in they stopped replying. We even went to the original inn to look for them for assistance but twice we went there nobody was manning the place.

- Haylee (8/5): Great location, beautiful room - Location was in ancient town and we were a mere 1-min walk into their busy street of shops and restaurants so it was great. Room was beautiful, comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. Bathroom should have more hooks or racks to place towel or clothes (it only had one so was a bit inconvenient, we had to bring a stool into the bathroom to place towel/ clothing. The common area was a little messy but maybe because it was cleaning/ housekeeping time. Dirty sheets and luggages were placed around the patio/ yard so I couldn't take any nice pictures unlike the photos shown :) PSA to all future travelers - we booked a package via the accommodation to the Jade Dragon (Yulong) Snow Mountain. I'm not sure if we will do it again (I would instead book directly via a travel agency in ancient town) as there was a lack of communication/ information that would have been useful to receive beforehand. For example, only on the night before the tour (11pm) did we find out the pick up time the next morning (530am). The accommodation was also unable to provide us the actual itinerary, and had set a wrong expectation by claiming the driver would send us to whichever attraction we would like to go (when in fact, it is a fixed itinerary as you'd be on a vehicle with 10+ over people). On the morning of, we got a message from the driver at 450am that we needed to show up 10min earlier (520am) or the car would leave without us. As you'd imagine, we had a mad rush and it was extremely stressful and upsetting. At the tour, our package included admission tickets to Impression Lijiang, an outdoor performance. Lo and behold - the driver told us he wasn't informed that we were going to the performance and REFUSED to send us there (at this stage we were not even surprised). Although everything worked out in the end after several Wechat messages back and forth, it was still an unpleasant experience for us. Although in all fairness, the lady was very helpful in answering all questions and even giving tips on weather, bars to check out etc. before and throughout the stay.

The staff (DianDian) is super friendly and helped us book a taxi and also gave us good recommendations on where to eat and what to see. I would recommend this place to anyone! Nothing

- Juan (7/5): Good stay at pretty courtyard inn, though some aspects lacking - The location in the middle of the best part of Lijiang’s old town, with beautiful views from our terrace over the rooftops of the whole ancient city. Very comfy tatami-style bed with a warming mattress pump for cold nights, which we didn’t even know existed until our stay. Great bathtub setup, though not too private since our room was exposed to our neighbours and the main staircase up to our floor from the courtyard, which defeats the purpose of a private relaxing couple’s bath… Good service from staff, though we had to rely on Wechat and translation software to understand each other, since they didn’t speak English and we don’t speak Chinese. Cleanliness needs to be stepped up significantly… The floor remained dirty throughout our stay and the furniture feels quite outdated with the exception of the amazing bed and great bathtub. There is a modern washing machine in the premises, but nowhere to dry out the clothes - except on the rooftop, in the open with rusty hangers, which is not ideal in subzero night temperatures.

- Miioo (10/5): Lijiang - The hotel was near to the North Gate of Lijiang Old Town, a backdoor leads directly to all the shops and restaurants which was super convenient. If you would like to go for short side trips during your stay, the hotel can help store your luggage. The hotel staff are also very friendly and responsive to our enquries, helping us to arrange for airport pick-up upon our request. The room was clean and spacious as well. Highly recommended! Nothing

- Dy (7/5): Price drop during low peak - This hostel is located near to the north gate which is easy to access from the main road. No proper place to store luggage after check out.
- Dy (7/5): Good - The location of this hostel is right inside the ancient town. The staff person was not very helpful, only interested to recommend driver and tours.
- Key (6/5): Not really value for money - The location is near Lijiang North Gate. The amenities are not up to standard. Room is not maintained well. Paint peeling and water marks on the walls, signs of leaking.
- Joanne (8/5): Amazing view, convenient location - It is located inside the old city, so travellers with heavy luggage do that note that it will be less accessible and inconvenient to pull your luggage, although they have a back door that is closer to a carpark where the didi driver can drop you off. The view from the property is very nice, and despite being in the old city, it is very quiet at night. I liked that their shower and toilet area is separated. The lady boss Xiao Xue is very friendly, providing us with recommendations around the old town and POIs. People who are allergic to cats, do take note that the property has an adorable white cat, but don't worry, it will not enter your room. The property is generally clean, but they should work on their high area cleaning, as it can be quite dusty.

- Ploi (9/5): Highly recommend this place. - This accommodation is located very close to the North gate which is very easy to access from the main road. There’s also local tricycle service to deliver the luggages to this place( not free). The other entrance leads you the old town, very easy to find restaurants and shops. The place is very clean, cosy and nicely decorated. The accommodation staff was very helpful about providing information and and helping us to book a tour, rent a car. We had very good experience at Jianshe Inn.
- Tivasook (9/5): Superb - It's a two story compound with 4 rooms upstairs with view and bathroom in rooms, and 3 rooms downstairs with share kitchen. Nice view, quite very new, very good location 2 minutes walk to restaurants and walking street, 3 minutes walk to parkin lot. If rain, the coner room upstair one of the windows leak need to be fix other than that are great place to stay.

Good view of the old town from upstairs Manager XiaoXue was very helpful from the days I booked the room. She helped to book a van at a reasonable prize for our outing to Snow Mountain area and to ShangriLa. During our 4 nights stay, she helped us in changing flight and hotel bookings in other locations as we were not able to use google and yahoo email in China. She was efficient, helpful and friendly. NIL

I talked to hotel before arrived about tour to snow mountain. I told her I want tour with show. When I arrived I asked her for price I need to pay for tour. She told me without asking anything so I think she understood. The day I went to mountain, driver said package didn’t include show. I was so confused, I knew I am foreigner do not know Chinese. But staff should first ask “do you want show or not that’s it. The problem would not happed. Ask first. So I need to pay twice for show because I will not come everyday so I want to watch it right. One more was the driver was rude, helpless. I recommend to buy tour on old town and talk on WeChat to make sure there are everything you need.
- Yun (10/5): A place that feels like home - A 10 star rating is an understatement for the hospitality and warmth we received. The location is beautiful, a stunning terrace with an overview of the old town, lots of plants and pretty flowers. We got a room upgrade for free and the room was spacious, well equipped (best equipped room in fact we had in China). You can tell that a lot of love and attention to detail was put into the design of this accomodation. The location is very central yet quiet at night. The highlight of it all was the lovely, generous and genuine owner. She took time to recommend us great restaurants and vegetarian dishes. Checked in on us regularly to make sure we are having a great time. And when I was sick she even brought food and medicine. It felt like home and being taken care of by family. I have never experienced such a hospitality and am very grateful. I highly, highly recommend this place when you're visiting Yunnan. The owner has travelled all over the world and has lots of interesting stories and insights to share, definitely recommend you to have a chat with her over tea.

- Jia (8/5): I’m generally satisfied with my stay in Lijiang. - The room is clean and the hosts are kind enough to offer us essential help. There’s a small garden where I enjoy looking at the blue sky and relax. It’s convenient to walk around the town in the morning when there aren’t many tourists. Our room is on the first floor and it’s close to the tea room. The sound insulation is not that good, and I could hear the chat in the tea room one night.

- Abbie (9/5): Ancient stay in an ancient town. - The location was right inside the ancient town, close by the main road for transport links. The room with the balcony was stunning with a beautiful view overlooking the mountains. No breakfast or coffee. A cup of coffee would of been excellent in the morning as we left early for onward travel and nothing was open for coffee at this time of the morning but that is a minor thing.
- Leeemc (10/5): Place to stay in Lijiang - It was a very nice room. The owner super friendly and gave as nice tips for the night where to eat and what to do. Unfortunately we stayed only one night. I can totally recommend this accommodation.
