Guest Reviews
- Ramona (10/5): - Our room was small yet had everything we needed and was beautifully decorated. This was our second visit to Thistledown; we love the decor and vicinity to the Diamond and shops. Note… this is not a BnB.
- Don (8/5): - There are zero employees here. We let ourselves in and out. Adam the owner helps by phone is quite nice
- Andrew (10/5): Loved it. - Amazing place to stay in the heart of Ligonier. So much within walking distance. The wine tasting venue was wonderful. Very clean room.
- Lea-Ann (10/5): - Beautiful, clean property. My stay was relaxing and a respite from the busyness!!
- James (10/5): - Loved our short stay at Thistledown and Ligonier!
- Brandy (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay. I was disappointed that there was no staff to greet us. It’s basically just an Air B&B except there was no breakfast. However, you can’t beat the location and the town is walkable and affordable. Everyone we met was friendly and talkative.
- Mark (10/5): - Really neat little place to stay. Each room had its own private bathroom, and there's a little station in the middle of the landing/hallway with a Keurig, some ice water, and some coffee cups and wine glasses available any time. Interesting history to the building too. Plus it's only two or three blocks to the the downtown traffic circle they call the Diamond. Absolutely would recommend to anyone looking to stay in Ligonier.
- RACHEL (10/5): - This is a beautiful boutique hotel. Felt more like an airbnb. No contact with anyone at check in. Just a phone call and keys left for checkin. No breakfast available.
There is a cute coffee shop downstairs but it’s only open a couple days a week.
Nice and clean. Enjoyable stay in Ligonier-within walking distance of downtown shops.
- Maria (10/5): - My husband and I went down to PA for a wedding initially I was a little nervous about getting a room here, but it ended up being amazing. Days before the trip, I’ve contacted the staff and they immediately responded to my calls and helped me out since we were going to be in past check in time. Great area! Please enjoy!
- Stephen (10/5): Great place will definitely be there again - Manager stayed around late for us to check in, he was very helpful. Room was clean, comfortable and updated. It would have been nice to have a hot water kettle with the coffee bar for the tea drinkers.
- Julie (8/5): - The property was lovely and well kept. However, there is no staff on the property so any problems have to be called in to one of the managers.
Also, the room description isn't very clear about the fact that Rm 301 has a private bath but it's out in the hall. So trips to the bathroom in the middle of the night involve needing to be able to get hold of your key and stepping into the VERY BRIGHTLY lit hallway. The bath itself is very nice with a handicap accessible shower.
The heat is one of those Euro-style units on the wall. Not easy to figure out how to use it if you are not familiar with the technology.
- Thomas (10/5): - Lovely decor..very clean and comfortable..older building redone into boutique hotel..our room on 3rd fllor had our private bathroom across hall different for us but just fine.
- Ann (8/5): - /
It was a wonderful old building and well furnished. Great beds. There were no directions in the room for TV/wifi. No hooks, hangers as there is no closet. Grab bars please.
Need little table in bath area for cosmedics, etc. Full length mirror would be great.
- Courtney (10/5): - Absolutely fabulous. Surpassed expectations in attention to detail, cleanliness, tasting room, and overall delightful stay. Highly recommend this getaway location.
- David (10/5): First visit - Absolutely wonderful visit. Great rooms, free parking and nice amenities. I'll definitely be staying here again.
- Maureen (10/5): - Lovely bed and sheets. Immaculate. Easy to let yourself in when arriving late.
- Karen (4/5): - We are experienced travelers and have been to ligonier many times. We were surprised when the check-in for the space was by the bartender and that there was just a phone number for check out. Our room was unbearably hot, and we hoped to navigate the heating system on our own as there were no instructions who to call for help. After we tried to fix the problem on our own for hours, we texted for help and were finally instructed to just open a window. (There was no way to modulate the heat)There was no apology and honestly it was one of the worst night sleeps we have had. If there is to be contactless check-in, it would be nice for instructions on how to make the room more comfortable and a name of someone to contact for help. The room was lovely in decor, but at this price-point, actual customer service is a baseline.
- John (10/5): - Beautiful inside and out. Quaint and Quiet, too.
- Jule (10/5): - Cozy and well cared for, a lovely place to stay.
- Justin (10/5): - We loved the room , very clean and nice . We could tell they really take care of the room . I didn’t like that it was considered a bed and breakfast. We had to go elsewhere for breakfast . The water and coffee station on second floor . Didn’t provide enough cups for coffee so we couldn’t take one to go. All and all great atmosphere and good time . Definitely will be back again
- Donald (8/5): - Place was gorgeous. No closet in room. Not a problem for overnight guests, but may be troublesome for extended stay guests.
- D.C. (10/5): - Kim was great. Place was spotless, love the room as well as the downstairs area
- Jenn (10/5): - The hotel is beautiful and quaint, exactly what we were looking for. We prefer
boutique hotels and this checked every box. My only complaint, was that we were not informed our room didn’t have an en-suite bath, our bath was in the hall separate from our room. We both found this rather awkward.
- Cynthia Louise (8/5): - Very clean, would stay there again.
