Guest Reviews
- Musa Ali (9/5): - The environment is good and the staff are amazing. The breakfast should include different varieties
- Ricknt (1/5): Stay cancelled. - The garden surroundings were actually very nice I had booked a room with airconditioning, that was a non negotiable requirement for me, they placed me in a room without aircon because of works being done creating a little noise during the day. After complaining about it, I was moved, but there were still other ammenities listed in the advertising that were not in the room. Furthermore, unlike all other hotels, they wouldn't add a bed to the room to enable an extra guest. So I decided to leave this hotel and go to one which has all that is advertised + extra beds. I asked for a refund and the receptionist tried to tell me that refunds were not possible because of credit card payment. I knew that to be a lie and called them out on it so they eventually refunded the unused amount. But I shouldn't have to have fought for it and should NEVER be lied to. Very poor & dishonest business practices.
- canadiancestovatelka (10/5): Lovely stay, great location for tourism or training/conference. - I stayed at the hotel for a week. There is a lovely outdoor dining area and garden, and I had a spacious room with very comfortable bed. The training room we used was large and light, and had the necessary amenities; there was a generous buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The staff were friendly and helpful. Many thanks!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Staff is very friendly and professional, the facility is in a great location, tucked away under nice natural surroundings.
The toilet and shower were disgusting and badly needed repair. Shower had stagnant water which attracted mosquitoes .
The water from the sink was brown and scary. I did not dare use it.
The rooms without balconies feel dark and creepy.
The food could be improved.
- Wijnand (7/5): Good - Fine accommodation in Lavington
- Lucky (8/5): I felt comfortable in a strange place - The hospitality from the Staff was very excellent. They were supportive and welcoming. I did not find any difficulty accessing places around during my stay, and they supported me with making calls and accessing money when I got a challenge and calling for an Uber to drop me at the airport. My room didn't have hot water. Nairobi is so cold during this season, and it was not ok with me showering cold water
- Dorine (10/5): Super comfortable, great ambience and awesome staff. - The location was quite convenient.
The ambience was amazing! Quite tranquil.
The staff( Eric and Virginia especially who helped with the booking and handling the client) were super awesome. They were very helpful, kind, respectful and swift!
I would recommend this hotel 💯 Nothing.Everything was awesome!
- Epiphane (8/5): - The facility is very quiet. The staffs are very nice
- Enes (7/5): Good -
- Enes (8/5): Very good -
- Raul (10/5): - Staff was friendly food was good
- Ayub (5/5): Stay was decent - Breakfast was decent as there was a variety of dishes to chose from .Staff were friendly and heplful. The mosquito net had blood stains so improvement is needed.
- Ebony (10/5): - Excellent location, very convenient and comfortable. Safe place, I enjoyed my short stay.
- Trijntje (10/5): - -
- Melissa (8/5): Very good - The hotel is well located. I particularly appreciate the outdoor (garden) and the staff. Furniture in the room could be renewed
- Rose (3/5): I would never stay there again even if I was stranded - The breakfast was good staff was awesome and nice The room was not clean dirty
There were mosquitoes
The ac work half the night not all the time
I couldn’t wait to leave that hotel very disgusting needs upgrade or renovations
- Natacha1999 (8/5): Clean, safe and affordable with excellent service from the friendly team & good wifi - The staff at the Convent are the stars of the show at this Lavington hotel, 30 minutes from JKIA on the expressway. Every team, from the kitchen and housekeeping to the restaurant and reception, delivered five-star service. The rooms are comfortable and clean. For a more peaceful stay I'd recommend rooms overlooking the compound at the back rather than the rooms overlooking the entrance. The rooms are exceptionally clean although the bathrooms are beginning to show their age. There was always plenty of water even when the place was full. The towels were fluffy and clean. The wifi was good enough to stream netflix etc. And the garden and restaurant areas are very pleasant - also with wifi. Would be happy to stay here again. This is a popular conference hotel during the week which makes it buzzy. Quieter at the weekends
- cristiandL1163DW (10/5): Amazing place - I spent very nice time at Convent International, from the guard, cleaners, receptionists to management they are all very kind and professional..
it really felt like home..at the restaurant they have a nice choice of either meat or veg food.. there is a nice garden when you can stay any time..and different types and size of conference rooms..
- naomiomolo (10/5): Family Lunch function - The staff and manager of the hotel hosted served us exceptionally well, in a very personalized way. They went out of their way with food and presentation, the staff were very polite, friendly and resourceful. I would highly recommend them for family functions.
- 759juniorm (10/5): Room 108 - The hotel has spacious rooms the rooms are well clean only down thing I noted is theat ceramic are stained a bit of bleaching would do.
Bedding are sparkling white, The front office team are very help full. The hotel does not sell alcohol so in case you need a quick drink it's closer to joints like Mialle or the social house.Food is always done well.
The hotel is not that trendy but the management could do better to improve the facility by adding guest amenity.
- Koibri (10/5): Lake Turkana - We are always booked at the hotel by our company for accommodation our rooms are always well cleaned and the staff are very welcoming the hotel aways goes out to take us get our covid tests always on time I always feel this is my second home the you must taste the chicken which is made at the hotel very nice
- A9384QMjamesm (10/5): Excellent experience - I attended a business meeting at the facility. The staff were friendly and helpful especially Virginia at the front office.Food is very delicious with room for more improvement I shall definitely come back in the future and recommend others
- King_Muito (8/5): Business Meetings - I have had opportunity to visit the facility on two different occasions, both times being for business meetings.
During each time I found the staff team very courteous and attentive to our needs; the meals were well prepared, the facilities were clean and the location of the hotel ideal for a one-day engagement.
They also provided good value for money.
Looking forward to visiting them again.
- briesti (10/5): Conference Meeting - Excellent experience and well designed conference configuration the staff are friendly and very efficient food wise very testy with still room for improvement wifi is fast and reliable thanks Steve and Peter for taking care of us
- Byron78 (6/5): Middling - The hotel is located in a quiet street off a main arterial road in a lush green compound.Parking is adequate and secure. The entrance leads to a restaurant on the left that does buffet meals and a small reception. To the right is a largish conference hall that can hold about 100 pax. They hosted us for a week and the conference facilities and meals were generally of a good standard. The wifi in the conference hall was also of a good standard.
One major blip was the rain pouring in through the plastic glass of the patio restaurant, the toilets too were generally unattended too and needed attention.
The room we stayed in was adequate but in real terms should have been much better with regard to cleanliness and maintenance. They have some seating outside on the lawn which is pleasant to relax on.
So it is a pleasant location and environment with services that can and should be improved. The lack of other facilities such as a pool or gym also detract from this.
It is a few mins walk from Lavington Curve mall and Lavington Mall which is very convenient.
- philip819 (4/5): Very poor value for money - I arrived at this hotel at 08h00 after a night flight from South Africa. The room I was taken to was a shock - dirty, faded and bare - I found the toiler unflushed and the basin was filthy. Therer were no tea / coffee making facilities in the room - I was told standard rooms did not provide this. After a lengthy discussion with management I was moved to a "superior" room - which was an improvement - but for a business traveller the work space was unsuitable and the wifi unreliable. The bathroom had dodgy looking shower curtains that kept touching me while I showered. When will hotels understand that shower curtains are not only unhygeinic but belong in the previous century. The breakfast was also basic and not very appetising - after the first day I went to the nearby mall instead even though breakfast was included in the price. All in all this hotel is not up to standard - there are other hotels in nairobi in a similar price range that offer a far better service. This hotel requires a major revamp.
- Road61013804212 (8/5): Amazing staff and great food - the Green environment gives the hotel a great ambience, the food is great Samuel the chef was very helpful and kind.
The staff is helpful and amazing, you could improve the water in the sinks in the toilets would be nice to have the option of warm water
- 1989myra (8/5): Conference facility - The hotel offers very nice conference and room facilities. It is located at the outskirts of Nairobi so the noise of buses and human is very minimal. They are affordable and offer very good meals. The hotel is a place of a thousands flavors. It is near two shopping malls hence one can be engaged in small activities like shopping and watching movies.
- jonasndunguru (4/5): HORRIBLE STAY - I stayed in the Hotel for two nights but the service was not good at all. What kind of hotel is this that they don't provide Iron services? You have to pay for them to Iron for you and they can take even one hour to just iron the shirt...This hotel is not good for business and people who are caring about looking smart otherwise you must be a lifestyle person who doesn't care about ironing clothes and looking smart
- 239seemam (8/5): Cozy & convenient! - A guesthouse tucked in lush Lavington with quaint rooms, hot showers, good WiFi and the best customer service. The most memorable part of the stay was the excellent service provided by the front desk staff. They are warm, friendly, go out of the way to help you and make sure your stay is comfortable. Beautiful garden and good location for a great price!
- khasoap (8/5): Pure serenity! - e had 2 rooms booked for 6 nights. The front desk staff were friendly. We had a smooth check in. The rooms were very clean, tidy, and the beds very comfortable . The location, perfect! The breakfast layout was good! We also visited the Karen Blixen Museum which is 20 minute-drive from the location.I will definitely consider returning to this peaceful lush green- gardens.
- MKSSA (8/5): An oasis in the city - This guest house was perfect for us, and I would definitely stay here again. The rooms were spacious and we loved the outdoor seating area by the restaurant. Landscaping is pretty. We had great security. The staff was friendly and very helpful.
Next time we will only do the B&B rather than full board. The buffet, though offering a nice variety, was pretty much the same for lunch and dinner every day, and it got old pretty fast.
Bring several different credit cards! Though their advertising says they accept all major cards, the hotel had trouble with their credit card machine.
- gotardus (6/5): Budget option - I stayed there for longer period, the rooms are pretty basic (mosquito net over the bed - important), the breakfast is always the same (and nothing special) which was pretty tiresome during 3 weeks stay. Internet available but not always reliable. Staff is friendly and helpful.
- GUyS431 (6/5): "Conference in Nairobi" - I was 5 days in this guesthouse for a confernce; it is a well protected place with a guard and car parking. Inside the rooms are only standard. The service can be much improved. The shower is poor with little and often too hot water; the breakfast buffet is limited, as is also the dinner buffet. I took one time the dinner buffet but most of the food was overcooked, relatively greasy, and too heavily prepared. The guesthouse is near the road and you hear the noisy traffic already early in the morning. Another bad experience was that one room at groundfloor was under repair, and the hammers and other noisy works were heard over the whole place starting at 7am sharp even up to 10pm.. this for 2 days. The people at the reception are helpful but the boss of the place does not give much of extra to them and to the guests. The wifi is gratis but slow speed. Although the rates are not cheap. I would say, only stay there when you have no other option or when your meeting/conference is there.
- kate_rugby (6/5): Convent heritage shows. - Staff friendly and helpful. Wifi. Nice garden. No lounge, but sofas by reception. No bar - go to end of road for a beer, or walk (10 mins) to nearby lavington mall (has shops, cafe, and pharmacy, and roadside market on the Friday I was there). Smoking discouraged with signs everywhere, but staff didn't stop me sparking up in car park (not one, but two no smoking signs there, still not sure why). BedRoom fine, furnished but in quite a bare fashion, reasonably clean and Mozzie-free, but a very dodgy-looking electric wiring job on shower head made me nervous. Buffet lunch and supper the same, almost, each day which became tiresome as was staying a week. Nice snacks in training breaks. Friendly hotel cat, which is always a bonus. A bit spartan, all in all - lived up to its Convent heritage, I suppose. Good service.
