Guest Reviews
- Karyn (10/5): It was the perfect spot for a weary traveller to refresh, sleep, eat a delicious Scottish breakfast, and meet new friend - The property is beautifully kept and all the little touches in decor just show how well loved the place is as a home and not just a guest house. The garden has a lovely space to relax in and the interior has the coziest lounge for guests to make tea and curl up in a comfy chair to read a book or literature on the surrounding areas and attractions and history. Absolutely nothing to dislike.
- Tomasz (10/5): I had a truly wonderful stay at Dalgreine Guest House. - I had a truly wonderful stay at Dalgreine Guest House. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed and made to feel completely at home. The rooms are spotless, beautifully decorated, and thoughtfully furnished with everything you might need for a comfortable stay. The attention to detail is evident throughout the house, creating a cosy and relaxing atmosphere.
One of the absolute highlights was the breakfast – it was simply delicious. Every dish was freshly prepared with care and served with a smile. Whether you're a fan of a hearty Scottish breakfast or something lighter, there's something to please everyone, and the quality of ingredients really stands out.
The location is perfect for exploring the beautiful surroundings of Blair Atholl and the Cairngorms. I couldn’t have asked for a more peaceful and welcoming place to stay. I highly recommend Dalgreine Guest House and will definitely return on my next trip to the Highlands! All was perfect

- Mhairi (10/5): Lovely stay in beautiful setting. - John greeted us on arrival with all the information needed for our stay. Rooms were tasteful decorated , clean with tea/coffee making faciities and a fab view over the garden to the hills behind. Breakfast was ordered the night before on line with a variety of times and options which was a great idea. It was delicious and was cooked and served by our host. We were made to feel welcome throughout the stay.
- Jessica (10/5): Beautiful, comfortable stay - The house is picturesque, comfortable and homely, spotlessly clean and highly professionally run. We liked the little details - fresh milk was available for teas and coffees in a mini fridge in the guest lounge, in labelled individual bottles for each room. The toiletries in the bathrooms were a local brand and were lovely. Beautifully decorated rooms and a beautiful garden. Fabulous breakfast! Nothing!
- Melanie (9/5): Quality service and amenities! - The breakfast was restaurant quality! The host John was very friendly, but also professional. The room itself was comfortable, the bed and pillows were very comfortable, the room had quality tea & coffee options & a bottle of water. The room was quite small, but there was a common room that had additional tea and coffee, a coffee machine, milk in a fridge, comfortable lounge chairs, books etc. This room was a fabulous addition. The gardens were very well kept and we had full access to them. Nothing
- Lindsay (9/5): Very enjoyable and a great base to explore surrounding area - Excellent local produce The coffee at breakfast could have been better
- Maureen (9/5): Superb -
- Christy (10/5): Exceptional - Sparkling clean, amazing breakfast, wonderful host John to make us feel like home Nothing
- Bibianne (10/5): Excellent stay with warm welcome - De surroundings are beautiful. Very good landing quiet place if you plan to hike in the surroundings.
John was very welcoming and warm during our visit. The room was clean and had a nice rural but chic feel to it. None would Def. Come again to Dalgrene guesthouse.
- Raphael (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful guest house with a fantastic host, thanks so much!
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional - Nothing
- Alžběta (6/5): Not our style. - Local experience. Nice garden. The house had an overall unpleasant smell – most likely due to the carpets, which were everywhere. The beds were very soft and worn out. Cleaning could have been better – everything felt a bit sticky. The breakfast was average, and the cleanliness of the dishes did not meet our expectations. Overall, it seems to meet the typical UK cleaning standard, which we find absolutely insufficient, although it might be acceptable for locals.
- Sylvia (10/5): I enjoyed my stay very much. - The breakfast was fantastic.
- Aidan (9/5): Superb -
- Br (9/5): A very comfortable place to stay with a friendly atmosohere. - I liked the friendly welcome I received from the owner and also the on-line pre-order arrangements for breakfast. Nothing.
- Nerea (9/5): Beautiful accommodation - The garden, decoration and breakfast! The host made us feel welcome. There is a shed for the bikes. Size of the toilet and the bedroom. There was no window in the toilet.
- Ian (9/5): Impressed us and would visit again - Very good host, friendly and made us welcome Nothing, it was in good decorative order and comfortable
- Tim (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely breakfast, high standard of room, everything amazingly clean and well decorated.
- Alicja (10/5): Cozy break - Lovely, cozy place for a shorter or longer break. Delicious breakfast, caring owners. We loved the little "library option".

- Harry (10/5): the only disappointment was that we had to leave so soon xx - We were greeted by John and shown to our room which was delightful with views of the garden and the distant Scottish hills. All facilities were there, good bathroom, comfy bed, coffee/tea making and a TV so we could relax and recover from our very long journey. Sadly we had to leave again the next day as this was a work trip to bring equipment up to Blair Castle but before we left we had a fantastic breakfast, coffee, orange juice, fruit smoothy and an excellent plate of bacon, sausage, mushrooms, scrambled egg and tomato as well as toast and marmalade.....what's not to like ??? absolutely nothing
- Ian (10/5): Repeat visits to a b and b gem - Dalgreine is an excellent b and b option offering unique beautiful rooms and breakfast cooked to order with a lot of choices. Hosts are great and very helpful. Always our no 1 choice Nothing at all
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (10/5): Beautiful house and warm welcome. - On arrival not only do you admire the house itself but the beautiful garden. Inside is just as impressive with what appear to be original wooden doors all lovingly maintained. Decor is very tasteful with a mix of traditional and modern that really works. As if that all wasn't enough we had the warmest welcome from John. He explained everything perfectly, with our only regret being that we couldn't partake of the breakfast the next morning as due to a change of itinerary we had to leave at 3am. Maybe next time!
Had a comfortable sleep in a room which over looked the garden. Nice touch to have coffee bags in the room and fresh milk in a little fridge in an adjacent room.
- David (10/5): Friendly, comfortable place to stay. Friendly host - Friendly welcome upon arrival. The house is lovely and the room was very comfortable and super clean. Freshly cooked breakfast was great.
- Hannah (10/5): Lovely and relaxing - Dalgreine is a lovely house. The garden surrounding it is beautiful and it’s in a quiet part of the village.
Everything is beautifully decorated to a high standard. The beds were very comfy and the room was clean.
Breakfast was delicious and nothing was any bother. A lovely place to stay. Nothing

- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional - Dalgreine Guest House is in a great location.
Parking is private and secure.
The room & ensuite was spotlessly clean and the bed was very very comfortable.
Additional amenities like tea, coffee, water, nice biscuits and chocolate were welcome after a long journey.
There was extra coffee making facilities ( real coffee via machine) and fresh milk in the guest lounge which had lots of books and local information as well as a TV .( TV in rooms also) .
Nice toiletries available and room checked daily.
The breakfast menu was superb , with great choices and served hot and well presented.
Lovely garden accessible to guests with a nice place to sit and relax should you wish.
Umbrellas provided for the unpredictable weather - much appreciated as we forgot ours.
Very hospitable and approachable hosts.
Wonderful location jn terms of access to multiple sites of interest, areas of outstanding natural beauty, adventure sports and walks, shopping and much more.
So much to like here- Highly recommend. Nothing .
- Robert (9/5): Superb -
- Sahil (10/5): A Great experience - The room was great, the owner was attentive, polite and went out of her way. There was a local disruption and she called us to inform us so that we didn't get stuck in traffic. Nothing.
- Humbold (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful house in stunning location. Great facilities.
Lovely room and fabulous hosts Nothing
- Sarah (8/5): Very good - Blair Atholl itself was lovely, and the guest house was a perfect location .
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tessa (10/5): This place is efficient, friendly and clean with the swankiest breakfast. - Breakfast was best I've ever had in a guesthouse/b&b. Nothing
- Samantha (10/5): Absolutely recommended! - Hosts very friendly and helpful.
The room had everything you need, was spotless clean, very comfortable bed and lovely view on the garden.
Very near Blair Castle and the museum , so you could reache them by foot.
Very good breakfast with great Vegetarian option too!
Lovely cat , for sure the princess of the house, ready to receive cuddle ( when she wanted obviously 😂)
- Gill (10/5): Beautiful accommodation with welcoming hosts - Directions to Dalgriene were easy to follow and we received a lovely warm welcome from John when we arrived. He took the time to show us around the property before showing us to our room, which we were delighted with. Simple things like fresh milk instead of UHT sachets and a lovely guest sitting room with TV and tea/coffee making facilities if you want to mix with other guests.
The decor is beautiful, the bed was huge and one of the comfiest I have every slept in.
The village itself is stunning with lots to offer. We opted to eat at The Loft, as recommended by John, and it was one of the nicest meals we had on our whole NC500 trip. A bit pricier but well worth it!
Breakfast at the property was 10/10. You order in advance the night before and are served in the breakfast room at your chosen time. All the breakfast products were of good quality and presented in a lovely way.
We're planning to come back again soon with family.
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional - Delightful stay in a charming BnB with stellar hosts.
- Kathy (8/5): Very good - Landlord was friendly, breakfast was good. Room was comfortable. Parking was convenient. The room was advertised as having a large double bed that could be divided into singles if needed. I chose this place specifically because there was a double room available as I have trouble sleeping well in narrow beds, and requested the double bed option, but when I arrived the room had two single beds with one made up for me. I realize this is common practice for individual travellers in the UK, but then don't sell it as a double room that can be divided into singles "if needed" or offer the bed configuration preference as an option at booking.
- Rodney (9/5): Superb - Great breakfast . Lovely comfy bed . Struggled to get up for early breakfast!!!!. Room #2 plenty spacious enough for us and I'm no tiddler. Just really nice and very welcoming. Great to be a little away from the hustle and bustle of PItlochry

The breakfast was exceptionally well done with a variety of hot breakfast choices, as well as some buffet choices. The owners of the bed and breakfast were really lovely. Overall a great place to stay for a weekend or longer.

- Gordon (6/5): Pleasant - The owner was welcoming
Breakfast was fine. They had cats in the public areas and I am allergic to cats, so not ideal.

Comfortable bed in well provided room and shower / bathroom was also well equipped. Quiet location, with good parking and not far from a choice of local eateries. While it met our needs well as we were not looking for the buzz of Pitlochry on this occasion the peacefulness of the location would not suit everyone.
