Guest Reviews
- Ann (7/5): We had a great time and the flat was a good quickly accessible bolt hole with pub downstairs a bonus - The location was great, a 5 minute walk from the sea and good shops and restaurants, with a Waitrose and a Lidl 2 minutes away. The flat is roomy and light and above a pub which was busy, friendly and helpful staff, sold good food and good ale with plenty of outside seating. There were enough beds for 8 people Whole place (including inside fridge and cupboards/drawers) could do with a spring clean. Each of the 3 bedrooms had a broken chair. More mugs, bowls and cutlery needed if fully occupued - but with only 3 of us it was OK
- Mark (10/5): Perfect for what we needed for, perfect location and perfect hosts - Perfect location for town centre and also the football ground which we were visiting for, spacious apartment, amenities all provided for us, above a pub so perfect for a drink. Staff very friendly and accomodating, nothing was too much trouble, couldn’t fault this property, 2nd time me and friends have stayed and will always rebook when we revisit Worthing Couldn’t find many faults really so not really anything bad to say
- Tracey (3/5): - The location for the Worthing town centre, the beach and supermarkets. The decor was very tired. We had to clean the apartment thoroughly. There were cobwebs in every room, and the shower heads were filthy. I asked for extra keys before our arrival but didn't get them until a few days later. The listing states one of the rooms had a double bed with a bunk bed when in fact the double bed is integrated into the bunk bed so we ended up having to use the sofa bed in the living which had no duvet cover for the bedding. Being above a pub, we expected noise. It was particularly loud on Saturday night. Then we were told by the pub staff not to use one of the showers because it leaked into the pub kitchen! The listing also states free on street parking, but please don't park on single yellow lines, or you will end up with a parking ticket. Only park in designated parking bays or play it safe and pay for parking in the numerous car parks nearby. Will I be back....no. Would I recommend it.....definitely not!
- Richard (7/5): Perfectly adequate for a short stay. - Large and spacious
Plenty of seating in the living room for the maximum number of guests
Kitchen was very well equipped including loads of fridge freezer space and 2 washing machines
Large showers
Excellent heating and hot water system Single glazed windows make it very cold in the winter until the heating kicked in
Single glazing offers no shield from the very loud, late music
Mattress is very thin in the en-suite bedroom
Facilities not fully checked after previous stay, as only 2 of the ceiling bulbs in the en-suite were working and almost dead too.

- mjb1982 (1/5): Disappointing visit - Size of apartment and location Gas leak downstairs,no hot water during our stay,no light working in lounge dirty, lack of customer care
- Rose (7/5): Location and property good, the towels need to be cleaned properly. - The property was spacious and close to amenities. I.e Waitrose and Lidl just across the street.
The staff in The Corner House were friendly and helpful. The Towels smelt and although I was told they were cleaned. They had a strong smell of damp. So we had to go and buy some. I did contact the corner house and they would have supplied another set but we’d already bought new ones by then.
- Gillian (4/5): Disappointing. - The location was good, and it has the potential to be a great property.
It was spacious, and having an en-suite in one of the bedrooms was a bonus. The whole apartment was filthy. The towels were stained, as were the couches. There were cobwebs and dust everywhere (I'm hugely allergic to dust!). Cups in the cupboard were dirty, as was the toaster and other kitchen equipment.
The place was very tired looking.
- Vivienne (10/5): Very happy with everything, even tea coffee sugar, and dishwasher tablets supplied. Ideally located - Our upgraded accommodation was excellent. Location was amazing. Nothing
- Cassie (10/5): One of the best homes we have stayed in. - Travelled 6 hours to visit family and staying here was a highlight of our stay. Everything we needed was there and the communication with the host was amazing, we couldn’t have asked for a better host. Very warm home and clean. Located in the perfect spot! Thank you so much.
- Faye (8/5): Very good -
- Jacek (8/5): Very good -
- Barrie (7/5): As a family we came to Worthing for the weekend to celebrate a friends birthday as it was only for 2 nights we were fine - It was convenient for the town centre Furniture and decor was very tired, a lot of dirt around windows, was told that the shower was leaking in the pub kitchen below
- Maria (4/5): Disappointing - The only thing is the location. When I arrived at the flat, they left the dirty dishes on the wash machine.
They left clothes on wash machine too.
The flat was not completely clean.
- Philippa (8/5): Destination wedding accommodation - Spacious apartment with two modern bathrooms. Good location on the outskirts of town and residential parking permits sorted by the property. Kitchen equipped for easy self catering, Waitrose and Lidl just across the road. Dishwasher!
Prompt response from property manager when called with a query. It would have been helpful to have more than one set of keys.
- Laura (9/5): Central location, friendly staff, pub very nice, great food. - Comfortable and spacious A few lights were not working - only need new bulbs I think, so a little dark in some rooms. No on-site parking, lots available nearby though (paid).
- William (8/5): Perfect - Nice amount of space and good facilities
- Anna (7/5): Good -
- Teresa (6/5): Comfortable mainly clean apartment, well equipped difficult to load and unload . The noise from the pub didn’t bother us - There was everything you would need Parking
- Sara (9/5): Superb -
- Jennie (9/5): Great place and would definitely stay there again - Great location and apartment is great. We thought it would be noisier being above the pub but it wasn’t at all, we loved the vibrancy of it. Comfortable lounge and comfortable beds, close to two supermarkets and other pubs. Short walk from train station. All in all a great place The kitchen appliances and equipment could do with a bit of updating. The toaster was useless, cutlery was a bit haphazard, crockery was ok but could have done with a few more bowls. One saucepan and two battered frying pans definitely not adequate.
- Mr (8/5): Very good -
- Mark (10/5): Brilliant stay, thoroughly enjoyed by the whole group of friends - Fantastic Apartment, Everything supplied you needed, clean and tidy, info documents to help with local area and apartment Nothing, cracking apartment
- Tina (9/5): Comfortable stay. - The property was large. 3 bedrooms, 1 en-suite and then another shower room and separate toilet. The kitchen is well equipped. The windows are single glazed so it is a bit drafty, but there is heating. The flat is situated 5 minutes walk from the town centre and above a very good pub. With this ideal location for town centre and transport links there is obviously some noise. It didn’t bother us at all and in-fact wasn’t as much as we thought it would be. The booking .com advert stated private parking, it is actually on street parking in a particular zone around the flat, for which you are provided parking permits. I would go back to this property if there was a group of us going to Worthing again. It was a little drafty.
- Meg (7/5): Good -
- Stuart (10/5): Exceptional -
- Charlotte (8/5): Lovely short stopover - Central location, loads of space. Lovely and clean. Parking on side streets was tricky to get spaces. Very hot inside and noisy from the road
- Jennie (6/5): Very noisy some nights and needs some attention, but generally spacey and comfortable. - The host was really communicative and helped me out when we came in a different car and needed to change the reg on the permit. The fact permits are included is great.
Location was perfect for the wedding we had in central Worthing. There are lots of shops and supermarkets nearby and it’s a 5-10 mins walk to the seafront.
Double beds are really comfy, and the showers are good. It was clean and tidy, generally, and towels and bedding were provided. There was plenty of space for our family of 5 and my sister’s family of 4.
We didn’t use them, but there’s a washer and dryer which I thought was good. We knew it was above a pub and so expected some noise but on the Friday night there was live music and a DJ, outside, until well past 12:30pm. It was unbelievably loud, not the chatter and glasses you might expect from being above a pub. The windows are single paned and may as well have not been there. Fortunately the kids sleep through anything but the adults all got very little sleep on the first night. It was significantly better on the second night. Beware of staying here on a Friday night if you’re not out partying yourself! The road is also very noisy but that bothered us less.
The kitchen was equipped ok but we had to re wash a lot of stuff as it was filthy. We used the dishwasher but it has no salt or rinse aid which explained why all the glasses in the cupboard looked so awful that we had to wash them by hand before using them! There were some filthy clothes in the cupboard under the sink, and some of the wooden spoons etc just need binning.
The table only seats a fraction of the number of guests the apartment can hold, so we had to feed the kids and then the adults sit down later.
The single bed in the single/ double room was so uncomfortable - you can feel every spring. The windows need replacing - the frames are cracked and peeling; I couldn’t open the one in the bathroom, and when they do open, they’re so wide you couldn’t leave a child unattended in a room with an open window (they’re huge sash windows).
This place just really needs some love and attention. If we’d paid £250 for the weekend I’d have thought it was excellent value for money but at £500 I would expect it to be much better.
- Maria (3/5): Disappointing and uncomfortable. - The apartment had space and was clean. The furniture was suitable and had a good location. It is situated above a pub so every night we could not sleep till the music, which was loud, was switched off at 11pm. But some nights later than that. It has very poor WiFi. So poor that the TV barely worked. It also affected my work as I needed to have my computer on and the connection was ver slow. To access it was had to enter through the pub which offered no privacy. The noise of shifting bottles and the rolling of beer containers was rattling every morning by staff who was discarding the spoils of the night before. The apartment was also situated near a busy roundabout with lots of traffic. The constant noise of traffic and emergency vehicles started early in the morning and continued through the day, intensifying at the end of a working day. Because the windows were large and old (not double glazed) the noise was constant which meant the children had trouble resting. I would not recommend staying there unless your group is a student part of under 21 and doesn't need sleep. On arrival I called the host who was not ver friendly about explaining where the apartment was and how to access it, seeing that it was above a pub and the door was the pub door. This was locked and it took me a couple of texts and a call to convince them to come and open the external door. All this with 3 children and bags. We had to sit outside for 20 minutes for someone to open the street door Not a pleasant start to the stay. I would not stay here ever again.
- Reginaku (7/5): Good - Good location, convenient check-in/checkout. Helpful with parking permits. Plenty of space for 4 adults and 2 kids. Badly insulated apartment (curtains move with closed windows). Showers should be a lot cleaner, oven was also dirty. Otherwise fine and we had a good stay.
Noise comes with the location and was expected, so not a complaint for us - but needs to be kept in mind when booking.
- April (10/5): excellent - we actually stayed at York road house which was down the road as we was upgraded and we couldn’t of been happier! the only thing which is not big but the coffee machine didn’t work
- Julie (9/5): A fantastic family weekend away! - Very spacious, comfortable beds and in a very convenient location. It wasn’t very clean on arrival, we had to wash a number of glasses and crockery before use and gave the apartment a general wipe down as it was quite dirty. once we’d cleaned it we felt very comfortable.
- David (9/5): Good location, great food in pub, also a Lidl just over the road to get supplies when you have a hungry family to feed - Location, size was good and big for a family of four adults and three kids, pub below was excellent, food they served was in pub was superb, nice beer garden Could do with a lick of paint just to spruce it up a bit
Kitchen items could do with a look at really, we ended up tightening the handle on the frying pan as it was about to fall off, pots and pans were just about at the end of there life, we even had to go out to buy a tin opener and chopping board because the chopping boards provided looked like a bacteria melting pot was living on then
It is located on a very busy road junction, and because it was really hot we had to keep windows open so this did affect our sleep a lot, but hey at least it was hot and sunny so look on the bright side, and may not of been that much of an issue if the windows were shut.
Biggest problem really is the street parking, you get a permit which is great but finding a space if you arrive back from a day out late is a logistical nightmare, a couple days we parked a good ten minutes walk away and that was after half an hour of driving round looking
Also even with the permit my Stepson found a parking ticket on his car one morning, that said once we contacted the owner of the property they sorted that out with the local council, which I would like to thank them for
- Graham (7/5): Good - Simple, clean and excellent location. Pub staff are excellent, can't solve the ghost experience riddle though! Nothing that wasn't to be expected, it's above an excellent pub after all
- Petrillo (4/5): Disappointing - As a family of nine with some eating issues it was ideal. Property was rather dirty food bits in dish washer . minimal pots and pans tumble dry extractor covered in dust, which my husband cleaned.
- Thelma (7/5): Good - Location was good, not far from the beach and shopping areas. Two supermarkets on the doorstep.
The apartment was well equipped. I didnt realise it was above a pub until after I booked and was sent the text, but it was fine, not too noisy. We had a great time! Beddings a bit worn.
Fabric cover dining chairs stained.
