Guest Reviews
- Jan (7/5): Great location and clean - Location and had everything we needed for a short stay Ventilation in the bathroom
- Michelle (8/5): -
- Dean (5/5): - Bathroom
- Martin (5/5): -
- Mark (8/5): A huge, well‑located room with great amenities and a comfy bed, though the taped door and slight damp smell on arrival w - The room was extremely big, come with a bath next to the bed and a separate room for shower and bathroom. Very comfy bed, came with tea and coffee and on the doorstep of Llangollen. Parking was ok, but beware car park can be full at time, I managed to park outside the Indian all night without issues. There was a door behind the curtain and had duct tape round it and when I first come into the room it did smell a bit like damp.
- Chapman (6/5): - Was great location easy safe access to room Our radiator couldn't be turned off in bedroom.
A small fridge would have been great
- Graham (9/5): - Great location, easy to check in and the small problem of other guests pinching the towels out of our room before we arrived was sorted out with minimum fuss by the hosts.
- Gavin (10/5): Exceptional experience - We found the place to be super cozy and in a fantastic location, a couple of minutes walking distance to everywhere you wanted, but still placed privately enough so it was peaceful at night time. Exceptionally comfy bed too!. All in a great place There wasn't really any bad points to be fair
- Kerry (10/5): Lovely plave to stay - Lovely house an facilities in a great location.
Ideal place to stay in llangollen No complaints
- Nicholls (7/5): - The location and comfortable bed, size of the room was good. The room was a little tired and could go with more than just a surface clean in areas such as the windows, carpets & furniture.
- Simon (1/5): I stayed 5 mins - Awful I was damp musty and dirty… and it was very rundown Nothing good at all
- Andrew (8/5): - Location Bit dated bathroom could do with a refurb toilet loose with a slight leak
- Lisa (10/5): -
- Claire (6/5): Good location- room too small & needs some attention - Location Toilet was loose & not fastened to the floor . Sink was also loose . Shower was dripping on the floor & so small that it’s dripping on you when you are in the location of the toilet . Shower room is just too small & poorly ventilated so the paint is coming off the ceiling , there’s a musty smell in the room as a result . Generally looking tired & needs some TLC . Room 3
- Bob (7/5): -
- Catherine (10/5): - The location of the Lodge was excellant ,also very close to food eating places and the walks .
The bath in the bedroom was a real added bonus two televisions bedroom and lounge area i was able to fully relax. Also it was Dog frendly perfect stay and weekend nothing was to much trouble 🏴🏴 Heating wasen't on but i used the heater of which was already in the room so it did not bother me
- Michael (4/5): -
- Callum (8/5): -
- Barbara (7/5): Great for a couple of days and the location couldn’t have been better for me. - Very convenient for town and the surroundings. It felt a bit dated and when entering the main building smelled damp.
- Anthony (8/5): Very good for the price. - Excellent location . Very good price. Mattress was rather soft
- Nerys (10/5): -
- Zoe (8/5): Very pleasant stay. Would stay again. - The room was nice and spacious and I liked the fact that they had cotton pads and cotton buds in the bathroom as well as shampoo and conditioner (a luxury this day and age). The location was great, right in the middle of Llangollen and all the instructions for accessing, checking in, parking and checking out were clearly described and given to us in time. It was lovely for them to provide a car parking permit as well. The entire building and the room smelled very damp although there was no visible mold and both the bathroom and sink were very clean. The bathtub had a couple of marks (potentially scratches) but I don't generally have baths so that wasn't a problem. It would be nice to have somewhere to hang our towels in the bathroom as the towel rack was too small for the big towels to hang.
- Rana (8/5): First time in Llangollen. Couldn't have asked for more. Wonderful host. - Excellent location. Great views. Clean and comfortable. Everything provided just as described. Easy communication with host which was very helpful. Parking close proximity. Would definitely recommend and would book again. Thank you for great hospitality.. There was nothing we didn't like.
- Kevin (8/5): -
- John (7/5): A lovely town to visit. - Very central, nice beds.
- Patrick (10/5): Happy pleasurable stay - Location ,ideal , room was lovely clean space , nice and quiet to rest all All goid, no complaints
- Judith (9/5): - Very convenient for town and Eisteddfod.
Nice cool building in hot weather.
The parking permit was an added advantage. Television didn’t work. (Room 6).
We could hear the TV from the room below late at night. (Or maybe it was next door).
- Alice (8/5): - Excellent location, clean and cosy. No smart tv.
- Sue (5/5): Comfortable but basic and needs renovations. - Good location and view Guttering leaked onto window making it noisy at night. It was cold. Tv remote didn’t work properly. Lots of black decor
- Louise (3/5): - The car parking pass, WiFi and location
Easy to check in/out The room smelled damp/musty as soon as you opened the door. It was cold when we arrived. The radiator made a drip sound all night. The bed itself wasn’t comfy
Wouldn’t recommend and wouldn’t stay again
- andrew (10/5): - Good location
- Dylan (10/5): -
- Michael (10/5): Very Enjoyable - Lovely room with excellent views Nothing
- Grant (8/5): Well located, clean & comfortable. - Great central location. Clean, warm, comfortable & had all we needed for our 2 night stay. Nothing negative to say.
- Aleyna (8/5): -
- Rabbitts (9/5): -
- Keith (5/5): Disappointing for such a great location. - Central location Outside was unkempt.
On entry, we were greeted with a musty odour.
Some of the lighting was not working in our room.
TV was not working in the room.
The room felt cold.
- Peter (10/5): An excellent stay, easy access and convenient location. - Very easy check in and stay
- Barry (8/5): -
- sarah (9/5): -
- Elaine (10/5): -
- Adele (10/5): I enjoyed watching TV from the bath tub. - Property is in a great location, rooms are clean and have everything you need. Gavin is responds to questions quickly - great price for a short break
- Gary (9/5): Great value, comfortable hotel. - Our second stay here (in the same room in fact). A lovely little hotel, close to the town. Nice sized room, very comfortable and even included a parking permit! We didn't seem to get a change of towels during our stay (although the room was visited by the staff for a tidy). It could just be me not leaving them out though.
- Pat (7/5): Mainly chosen because it is only 15 mins walk to the Conference site. - We had stayed at this place last year. The arrangements for checking in worked well and the limitation of no breakfast was overcome as we knew what to expect. The free parking voucher worked well. Would probably choose to stay there again if we were visiting Llangollen again. As no breakfast provided a small fridge would have been useful. The central heating was not on but there was an electric
heater which was adequate for the weather conditions when we were there.
- James (10/5): Excellent - To many lights
- Carol (10/5): - No fuss checking in and out, parking permit provided, excellent location. Very clean and comfortable room. Really enjoyed my stay. Can't think of anything I didn't like.
- Karen (7/5): - A bit unkempt with a strong smell of damp in the hallways
- Derek (8/5): Very well situated. - The location was very well placed for the centre of Llangollen.
The room at the back of the house was very quiet
A carpark pass provided free parking The bath in the room.
- Mary (8/5): Whilst we felt the accommodation needed some tlc, we would quite happily book again. - We liked the size and layout of the accommodation in that there was a separate seating area and that it was really clean and tidy. We also liked where it was situated as it was only a minute or so from the town centre which had plenty of choice for eating and drinking out. We felt the rooms needed a little tlc, for example in the one bedroom the wallpaper was coming away from the wall, but wondered if this was because our stay was more or less at the end of the season. We did feel that overall there were a lot more pros than cons and we all agreed we would happily book to stay there again when in the area.
- Dawn (1/5): Absolutely awful and never again will I stay here - There is nothing to like.
I had read some TripAdvisor reviews which were quite poor but not withstanding that when I checked the Booking.com reviews I thought I would give this place a try. What a bad decision.
The room that we stayed in which was number one was far from okay. The smell of damp hits you as you walk through the front door and when you enter the bedroom, it is absolutely shocking. There are stains over the ceiling where there is obviously been some leaks and the decor around the ceiling is atrocious.
The smell was so bad that we couldn’t stay the second night and went to our venue for the evening and then drove home because we just couldn’t stand it in there for another evening. See above
- Ann (8/5): Enjoyed stay.Decor was nice. Location was great. - Room was easy to access and parking permit was great.Nice central location. We did have an issue with the kettle not working but this was sorted the following day. Strange not to meet anyone from the property, it would have been nice to have a working kettle from the start and enough supplies for the full length of stay.We were lucky to get the last parking space as none reserved. The room was nice but didn’t realise so little natural light.
- Leslee (10/5): - I left my sunglasses in the room they mean so much to me please locate them as they r priceless to me
- Marshall (10/5): - Nice place to escape to. Everything was fine. No complaints.
- Stephanie (6/5): Convenient location, but the room could do with some improvement - Location was excellent, as you were right in the heart of Llangollen. Area was very quiet during the night, so we had plenty of restful sheep. Also, there is a car park very near to the property, and the parking permit was a nice touch! Plenty of tea bags, coffee, biscuits etc also for our stay.
Free WiFi was great and had no issues with the connection. Plenty of storage spaces as well, such as drawers and a "wardrobe" space for your things. Hairdryer, shampoo and conditioner and towels were also provided.
The self check in was very easy, and went smoothly, as well as checking out. 11am check in was perfect for us, as some properties/hotels kick their guests out by 10, so we didn't feel rushed to leave.
There were loads of pamphlets dotted around the property and in the room, which provided information of things to do and see within Llangollen and the surrounding areas. Cleanliness was a let down. There were stains, that appeared to be mascara stains on the bedding and curtains, my partner had to clean the bath himself before we could use it. Lots of dust in the corners of the room and along the skirting boards, and a couple of spiders made an appearance.
Also, there was a very strong drain smell coming from the sink in the bathroom, which was a bit off putting, especially when in the shower, as the heat amplified the smell. We had to keep the door closed all the time, so the smell wouldn't travel.
The layout of the room seemed a bit peculiar, as there was a bath right next to where you'd hang clothes, so you would risk splashing them if you hung your things there. Again, with the shower, the layout was a bit strange, because the lack of door meant water was going everywhere in the bathroom.
If it honestly wasn't for the issue of the drains and having to clean the bath ourselves, the room would've been great. We didn't feel the need to contact the property owner of these issues, as we were only staying for two nights, and we were barely in the room.
- Simon (8/5): - Good big size room
Central location
Excellent value for money Room a bit stuffy couldn't leave window open as ground floor apartment
- Simon (9/5): -
- paul (9/5): Lovely getaway in a lovely town - Lovely quiet building despite being bank holiday weekend. Centrally located and a great price. Very comfortable room. Slight mix up over the room number but this was immediately solved with a phone call.
- Dawn (8/5): - Great location Nothing major
- Impana (6/5): -
- Laura (10/5): It was nice quiet chilled stay, really nice room, clean tidy value for money, secure booking in real - I stayed here for 2 nights and really enjoyed it. Great location in the heart of Llangollen, excellent value for money, and the self check-in was really convenient. The place was clean, tidy, and had everything I needed—would definitely stay again. There wasn’t anything I disliked
- Deilwen (8/5): Very convenient for Llangollen and surrounding area - A small fridge would have been amassive help to keep milk and watercold
- Jill (7/5): Good location. Comfy beds. Value for money. - Comfy beds. Location. Value for money. Very tired. Needs sprucing up. Could do with a mini fridge to store water and fresh milk.
- Yee Fong (7/5): - Location The shower was Luke warm and not very hot. Kept waking up when water came down in the downpipe.
- chris (8/5): -
- Julia (8/5): Good location, with parking permit - Easy to find location, with a parking permit - as parking can be really difficult in Llangollen Would have liked a usb port, and stays on the windows so we could open them. You can hear people upstairs walking and showering, which maybe to be expected in an older property. Also an earlier check in than 4pm.
- Stephanie (5/5): Misleading description which still hasn't been updated 4 weeks on!! - Super location and spacious bathroom, nice and quiet. The description on the website
("In your private bathroom:
Free toiletries
Shower
Additional bathroom
Toilet
Towels
Hairdryer
Additional toilet
Toilet paper")
led me to expect at least one separate toilet and possible another shower, instead of just the single bathroom with the toilet in the same room for all the guests - after hunting around all floors of the house we were forced to conclude that the one bathroom was all we had within our rental price. With a group of 5 adults on a busy schedule, from 4 different households, this was very inconvenient. We ended up having one of our group using the bathroom of another acquaintance on the floor below both days we were there, as there just wasn't enough time for everyone to do what they needed to do otherwise. I see that the description still hasn't been updated which is simply unbelievable. I'm normally a forgiving guest but I think it's totally unacceptable to continue to advertise the property as it is! I will not be coming back.
- Craig (8/5): - Hassle free, town location
- TRACEY (9/5): Great stay - Lovely for 2. Great location. Good layout of the flat. A small fridge would be good.
- Brian (10/5): Very clean and in a perfect location right next to the centre - Great location
- Amanda (2/5): - The location was great The smell of damp, dust and dirt as not cleaned properly.
Bed uncomfortable and short.
Shower not suitable
- Catalin (9/5): - Clean, nice. To be clear, the room was ok.
Don't expect 5*, but 4* worth.
- Amanda (8/5): -
- Gail (10/5): Highly recommended 🥰 - Fantastic location. Very close to centre of town and easy to find. Parking pass really appreciated and the car park very close. Very peaceful location despite being so close to the high street. Really enjoyed the whole experience. The windows didn’t open however it was on the ground floor and despite the very hot weather the room remained cool and comfortable so this wasn’t too much of an issue.
- Lisa (8/5): Great Location - The Location was excellent, so close to centre . The Cottage did the Job. The Cottage needed a little TLC especially the bathroom.
But overall it was Good
- Robert John (9/5): -
- Kevin (7/5): Good location, would recommend - Its clean, information given was good, location is perfect.
Bedding and bed were comfortable. There are limited food choices in Llangollen and Saturday everything was either fully booked or stops serving food early, so we got a pizza to take away. Theres not really anwhere to eat in the apartment for two anyway. There is a small table and one chair and one foam stool that collapses if you sit on it.
There was i itially no working fan in the bathroom but i found the isolator switch and turned it on only to be greeted by a very loud motor noise so i can see why it had been turned off.
I have seen bigger postage stamps than the tv in the bedroom!
We would recommend for a couple of nights but it could be improved
- robert (10/5): Great stay - It's booked on room only great location in centre Llangollen
- Paul (10/5): Very very good - Modern contemporary look & fresh looking just a few observations
Sink basin in shower room loose easy to knock but a nice touch
Socket on right hand side of bed as you look at if is spongy which pushing socket into the wall. Back was missing off the TV remote
- Tina Nordlund (9/5): Det var ok i fantastiske omgivelser - Et lille hotel, men tæt på centrum og gode spisesteder og indkøbsmuligheder Der var ikke meget plads
- Chris Tonna (9/5): -
- hugh (10/5): -
- Allan (8/5): Very good. Strange feeling that there was nobody in the house other than more guests. - Very comfotable bed and funiture. Clean. Everything worked (except I couldn't figure out how to let water out of the bath-very strange). No breakfast but usual instant cofee and Welsh tea available. Nice and cool on a very hot day. Lots of steep stairs. No breakfast.
- Elizabeth (6/5): Good location and easy to check in - Very spacious accomodation. 2 nice easy chairs. Good bathroom faciities. Bed linen very clean. Great location. The beds were quite soft. Unable to get fresh air overnight as only option was a ground floor french window. Fans would have been useful as the weather was exceptionally hot. Overall the property could do with some udpdating as the decor was quite tired. Standard of cleaning was not great. Outside areas would benefit from some tidying/renovation
- Janette (8/5): Nice and central for Llangollen but some things need attention - It’s centrally located and it came with a free parking permit - Chris helpfully reminded us to show it permit side up. Bed was extremely comfy, kitchen was well appointed with lots of storage space and lots of tea bags and loo roll were supplied . The water is always hot and the shower is powerful even if the water does come into the bathroom when the shower is used. Dressing table in bedroom but no light or socket near it Up a steep flight of steps which is difficult if you have luggage. No sunlight comes in so the living room can be quite cold and damp, even when it’s 29 degrees outside. Severe lack of power points in bedroom with only one double socket on far side of bed. And are you supposed to fit two electrical leads in one plug? Mirror in bathroom doesn’t light up so shaver socket doesn’t work, one side of extendable mirror is cracked and sink moves if you press on the outside edge.
- jill (10/5): - Lovely location and room comfortable Everything was great
- Colin (8/5): -
- Niamh (7/5): Great location, cleaning could do with some more attention. - Location was great Wasn't totally clean. There were sticky glass ring marks on the bedside table when I arrived and hairs on the tiles in the bathroom.
- Tina (5/5): Great location very basic - Location Kitchen couldn’t reach the sink and tap was loose. Sink in bathroom upstairs moved. When showering bathroom flooded.
Bedding for sofa bed smelt very musty and damp.
Plates and crockery in cupboard were also damp and dirty.
Light and fire downstairs did not work and bulbs upstairs were missing.
- Gareth (8/5): -
- Amanda (6/5): Good location adequate room clean but overpriced - Location Too expensive discription said there was a kitchenette! There wasn’t !! I took food which then couldn’t be used
- Elizabeth (10/5): Greenbank Lodge Llangollen - Perfect location for Llangollen town, walks, events, places of interest - didn't need to use the car at all for the time there -
Will definitely visit again. Could do with a small fridge in room to keep milk fresh.. bath not necessary.
- Eleri (10/5): - Self check in was great
Clean comfortable bed
Fluffy towels
Tea making facilities Hot in the he room
Didn't get notification of the parking permit and had to pay 48 HR
- SUSAN (10/5): Brilliant few days - Great location. Clean and comfortable. Easy to follow checking in instructions Had a few spiders
- Donna (8/5): Great value for money, clean & comfortable. - Great property, great use of space!
Loved the placement of the bath in room 8!
Lovely view of Dinas Bran too ❤️ As Llangollen was so busy this weekend, very difficult to find any where to park 😬
NOTHING THE PROPERTY CAN/COULD DO JUST A PROBLEM IN LLANGOLLEN WHEN EISTEDDFOD IS ON!
- lee (9/5): Weekend awsy - The Location was excellent, close to everything we needed and more The vsth in the room was different but a welcome bonus.
The parking permit and close proximity to car park also. We also liked the outside furniture and used it over the weekend a few times. Minor gripe, but the signage to the Lodge was obscured by overgrown bushes and had to do a couple of laps of Hill st to find it.
- Karen (5/5): - Location was great. You are provided with a parking permit to use in the long stay car parks which are close by On entering the room there was a musty damp smell. The room was very dark due to the black wooden features. We were in room 1 situated on the ground floor and this was by front door. It was extremely noisy with people coming and going, door slamming at all hours, downfall of having no staff on site to monitor this. As a result we did not sleep well
- Marie (10/5): - Good location
- gareth (9/5): - Parking permit was a nice touch
- Kathryn (9/5): Fantastic base - Lovely room, very clean
Excellent location
Very easy check in, great instructions, and clear
great to have a parking permit available.
Walking distance to venue for concert and loads of bar, restaurants etc Nothing
- Sally (8/5): Good location in Llangollen - Good location and communication prior to stay. Easy access to the property. Parking permit appreciated. Comfortable stay, exactly what was needed for our short break.
