- JULIANNE (6/5): Nice accommodation for budget conscious travelers - The room was spacious and amenities comfortable. We did like the style of the room and its decor even if it's a tad tired. The bathroom was large, included a spa but the hot didn't work (we just ran the cold water which was warm enough anyway). The view was nice enough in the evening, overlooking the city even though many of the buildings surrounding the hotel are old and in dilapidated condition. The bed was comfy and linen was fresh. A couple of bottles of drinking water were provided daily plus more was obtainable from reception. The breakfast options provided were quite adequate with a fair selection and the fruit supplied was always delicious. You could dine at the hotel for other meals as well. They did have a ham and cheese spring roll kind of thing that was to die for. Yum! Staff were helpful, if a little difficult to understand at times, having the language barrier we had to deal with on both sides (my Thai is woeful). The hotel does have storage for your luggage should you need to leave it there once you check out, should you want to continue exploring before departing Bangkok, if you have a late departure planned. The room rates were very reasonable, but we would have happily paid more to stay in more comfortable, temperate conditions. Entry to the hotel is a short walk down a laneway along a canal so you need to cart your bags up and down with you. It was extremely hot and humid so by the time we got to the hotel we were sweating even though it wasn't far. The open foyer/lobby had no air-conditioning, and it would have been pointless anyway, and the fans did little to alleviate the heat and humidity. We know that the hotel cannot be blamed for the weather conditions, but its design makes it difficult to regulate the temperature within. There is a lift. As I have some mobility issues, I checked this before booking. However, you had to take stairs to get up to it and then from the lift we had more stairs to get up another level to our room. This was not clear from the information provided on the site. The lift was tiny and again not airconditioned. All the common areas of the hotel had no temperature control, apparently. Breakfast was served in the lobby/foyer area or courtyard near the swimming pool. Smoking was permitted in the courtyard and even the foyer from memory. Even if there was no smoking permitted in the foyer the smoke from the courtyard wafted in there regardless, so sitting in the courtyard was unpleasant at times. The courtyard was somewhat cooler than the foyer so it would have been nice to sit there except for the tobacco ordours. :( The air-conditioning in our room was in a bit of an odd spot and didn't really cool the room very well or evenly. The bathroom faced west and the air conditioning motor unit was under a bathroom window blowing in hot air. Once I realised this and closed the window the heat situation improved slightly but it was always very hot and humid in the bathroom. There's a large, shared balcony area leading to, and in front of, the rooms upstairs on the top floor, along with a couple of private balconies for our room.

When you shower, the whole bathroom is gonna be wet. Personally, I find the bathroom and its cleanness is one of the most important aspects in a hotel room. That’s the reason for a 7, otherwise all good.

Bij aankomst kwam niemand helpen en werd ik niet geholpen met het dragen van de tassen, waardoor ik zelf meerdere keren heen en weer moest lopen. Verder hadden we gevraagd of ze een kliniek of dokter/ziekenhuis kenden in de buurt aangezien er een beetje spoed was, maar daar werd ‘nee’ op gereageerd en verder niet in geholpen of meegedacht. Dus dat hebben we om 01:00 ‘s nachts zelf moeten uitzoeken. De volgende ochtend was er ander personeel, want ik kan me voorstellen dat iedereen wellicht moe was die avond/nacht, maar ook zij hielpen niet met de tassen of dergelijke. Aangezien ik belangrijkere dingen aan mijn hoofd had, hebben we hier verder ook geen probleem van gemaakt maar ik wil het via deze weg wel kenbaar maken dat hierin meer gedaan kan worden voor vervolggasten. Noteer ergens een paar apotheken of klinieken waar gasten mogelijk naartoe kunnen mochten ze dat nodig hebben. Ik had een beetje het idee dat dit ooit een erg goed hotel was, maar dat het een beetje aan het vervallen was en er minder aandacht/liefde in wordt gestoken nu.

Highly recommend. - Good location, tuktuk available to take you anywhere, very nice pool, great breakfast buffet choices. Delicious dinner and snacks available at the restaurant. Friendly staff. - Jacques64L (9/5): Charme et tranquilité - L'hôtel est situé dans un quartier très calme, au bord d'un canal et il est très agréable de s'y reposer après une journée de visite. C'est un hôtel simple, avec beaucoup de boiseries, qui dégage un charme lié à son caractère ancien. Cette quiétude fait que j'y reviendrai certainement lors d'un prochain séjour à Bangkok. A une dizaine de minutes à pied, on trouve tout un ensemble de bars, restaurants et de la street food. Le restaurant de l'hôtel est très correct. A savoir: il n'y a pas de rue qui passe devant l'hôtel (juste un cheminement le long du canal), le taxi doit vous laisser à quelques dizaines de mètres. Ce n'est en rien gênant mais il ne faut pas être surpris. Salle de bain un peu vieillotte. Le petit déjeuner est bien mais il y a peu de variations. Il n'y a pas de station de métro à proximité.

- Yuley (4/5): HOT! Okay, not pleasant in many ways but we were okay. - The location was in convenient walking distance to ferry,museums and monuments. The room was neat .There is no more to say for this category. The area was dirty but "real" Bangkok... The locals were mostly friendly, We ate at the corner cafe the only place (even the hotel) to have an indoor seating with air con. They were helpful and menu in English. Uno at every table. Don't trust anyone who offers help there is a payment expected even "security". The Tuk Tuk driver was the most honest. Everywhere is longer by car so be aware 10 minutes walk may be an hour drive. The hotel did not have good air con or refrigeration.

- Zarah (8/5): Relaxed and comfortable at a great price point - Really lovely interiors, a nice escape from the busy city. Great restaurant and food, the best we ate in Bangkok. Location was a close 10 minute walk to khaosan road and all major tourists spots are accessible via a 15-20 minute grab ride - however with traffic this can take a while at peak times. Bathroom could do with updating. Quite small and dated shower but served its job for our short stay and can’t be faulted for the price.

- PATRICIA (7/5): Bel hôtel bien situé mais choisir l'immeuble principal - L'hôtel est joli, authentique et bien placé pour visiter les temples et palais. Le personnel est aimable, souriant. Le déjeuner est assez copieux, du choix, salé, sucré en buffet. Une jolie petite piscine que nous n'avons pas testée par manque de temps et surtout parce que nous n'étions pas dans l'hôtel principal.... La literie est très bonne et chambre très joliment décorée. Tout d'abord nous avions choisi l'annexe pensant que c'était dans le même complexe et peut-être plus au calme. Hors celle-ci se trouve bien plus loin, environ 300m. Donc difficile de se balader en maillot/serviette dans la ruelle pour profiter de la piscine ! Rien n'était précisé à ce sujet. À savoir nous aurions choisi l'hôtel principal. La seconde chose que nous n'avons pas apprécié c'est qu'il n'y a pas de vitre dans la salle de bain. Très joliment aménagée avec de belles persiennes en guise de fenêtre . Donc la chaleur rentre. Et grosse chaleur étouffante. Clim dans la chambre très forte, obligé de fermer la porte de la salle de bain pour garder le frais. Gros écart de température entre les deux pièces. C'est bien dommage. La troisième, nous avions vu directement sur un autre bâtiment très proche donc impossible d'ouvrir les rideaux de la chambre pour avoir un peu d'intimité. Donc attention lorsque vous choisissez la chambre même si on n'y séjour que pour dormir....

Super dichtbij alle bezienswaardigheden maar het hotel ligt lekker in de rust aan het kanaal. We mochten zelfs na het uitchecken nog gebruik maken van de faciliteiten en heb nog even heerlijk gezwommen voordat we naar de luchthaven gingen. Personeel denkt ook graag mee. - Andreas (9/5): Schöne Zimmer im Nebengebäude - Wir haben einige Tage zuvor im Haupthaus übernachtet, zu unserer vollen Zufriedenheit. Diesmal für eine Nacht im Nebengebäude, in kurzer Entfernung zum Hauptgebäude ebenfalls am Kanal. Die Zimmer waren sogar noch etwas komfortabler als im Hauptgebäude. Sehr ruhige Lage. Kleiner Nachteil ist die Lage abseits von Rezeption, Frühstück und Pool im Hauptgebäude. Aber nur einen kurzen Spaziergang entfernt.
- Andreas (9/5): Charmantes kleines Hotel am Banglampoo Kanal - Charmantes kleines Hotel am Banglampoo Kanal mit hübschen Zimmern und freundlichem Personal. Frühes Einchecken ohne Vorankündigung war kein Problem. Das Frühstück war umfangreich und sehr gut. Besonders genossen haben wir nachmittags Abkühlung und Entspannung am kleinen Pool in einer total relaxten Atmosphäre. Essen im Restaurant war ebenfalls sehr gut, weitere Restaurants sind in der Nähe. Das Hotel ist recht ruhig am Kanalufer gelegen, in fußläufiger Entferung zur Bootsanlegestelle am Fluss. Auch königlicher Palast und Wat Pho sind bei guter Kondition zu Fuß erreichbar. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Das Restaurantpersonal war noch etwas in der Übungsphase, sehr freundlich, aber manchmal etwas vergesslich. Aber kein großes Problem.

- Yves (5/5): Hotel loin de la description faite - L'emplacement était plutôt bien Douche salle et pleine de moisissures, douche partiellement bouchee au niveau du pommeau, robinetterie défraîchie, l'hôtel avec piscine mais nous logions dans un bâtiment situé à 250m.tres peu pratique pour nous rendre à la piscine en maillot en devant déambuler dans la rue. Petit déj frugale, tout est quasi vide en permanence, au check out le membre du personnel est endormi sur le comptoir, au check-in nous avons été accueilli par une personne de très mauvaise humeur
