- 哲 (8/5): クサツエストピアホテルは、夜の食事は全く駄目だが、ほかはどこのホテルと比べても見劣りしない素晴らしいホテルだ。 - 部屋が大変きれいで清潔感あふれてた。 朝食もおいしく期待以上だった。 フロントの対応もよかった。 夜の食事がついていないコースだったので夕食をホテル内のレストランでとったのですが、友達がお金を出してくれたので料金は分かりませんが、高額そうな和食のコースと日本酒でした。酒は冷の七本槍で美味しかったのですが、和食のコースははっきり言って「最低」でした。朝食があんなに良かったのに夜のコースは別の料理人が作っているとしか思えませんでした。夜のコース料理を食べて、一気にホテルの評価が下がりお金を取ってお客に出せるような味になっていません。私は11/9と11/26,27の2回利用しましたので、この夜の食事は11/9(日)のことを指しています。

- dangZ6906OM (8/5): Estonia Hotel - Nice and clean hotel. Staff are very friendly and most speak English. Room was small but had everything you need for a trip. The food was very good with lots of choices of hot and cold drinks at breakfast to set you up for the day. There is a large shopping centre within a 2 min walk which also hosts restaurants and fast food outlets. A very enjoyable visit and I hope to return in the future.

Driving to the hotel was difficult as it's in a city with narrow roads and lots of people walking around and riding bikes. The staff were polite and spoke English. My room was clean and comfortable with air conditioning. Train station is within walking distance and it takes about 26 min to get to Kyoto station.

- Pseudomono (8/5): Good Value Location for Business Travellers - This hotel is a convenient location 200 metres from the train station at Kusatsu so easily accessed. There is a great shopping centre directly across the road with a cheap and cheerful food-court that provides some value in local dishes. In the hotel itself the breakfast is a buffet with good variety of western and eastern selections. The method of handing a token for your breakfast bemused me though. The hotel seemed quiet so I never socialised there. In fact the bar closed at 10.30pm I found the wifi in my room worked without any issues on mobile and laptop and it is pleasantly fast. It would have been nice if the connection to the wifi extended to the lobby downstairs. The rooms were well cleaned although not particularly big. There is a laundry service that I did not avail of. I thought the room excellent value for the week. I spent as much time as possible out of the hotel. Kusatsu itself does not strike me as particularly vibrant. I think more people leave it daily for work than arrive in it. If I am back in the area again (and I hope I am as I saw very little of Japan due to work commitments) I would be willing to return to Kusatsu Estopia. Although I would have a commute to further to work I might enjoy the hustle and bustle of Kyoto more
- adrians408 (10/5): Great Choice - Stayed in what they call the "Bridal Suite" this is a really fun room to stay in with a huge bed, fun furniture, funky to the nth degree. The other addition is a new bar in the restaurant which is open in the evenings this is a super addition to the already great value, wonderful service, high speed Internet, spotlessly clean hotel. Highly recommended.
- livias2013 (6/5): I was at this hotel before my homestay - this hotel smells like cigarettes...no way to escape the smell, it has permeated the whole building. once my sister and I arrived to our room, there was blood in her bed, as well as hair in her bed and the bathroom. the beds are also super hard. However, this hotel does offer a full breakfast [western and japanese] and is in a central location for exploring Kusatsu and Ritto. However, I do not recommend this place if you're looking for comfort, only for location
- lbc20142015 (8/5): Worth to Pay - Well organised,clean room, strategic location from train station, walking distance to shopping area and restaurant. Good breakfast served as well. The only thing i would like to express here, the breakfast serving on weekend started late at 7 a.m. Working people like me; feel a bit late. Usual weekdays serve at 6.30 a.m. Especially inconvenience for traveler whom required a rush to Osaka airport morning flight; have to miss the breakfast! (missed the morning coffee!!hihi) Added value is air purifier with humidity monitoring is available in room, very touching of this; because Japan humidity is unbearable especially in Aug & Sept.
- Jac121 (6/5): Good for the price - This is my second stay. This hotel is really comfortable and breakfast is good. Even the no smoking rooms smell of smoke so be prepared. The cleaners do a great job otherwise. It's not as close to the railway as others but close to shops and supermarket.
- Trektech20 (8/5): Sleepy village - This hotel sits a bit away from the hustle and bustle of Kyoto, but a very quick train ride away from many great sites in the surrounding area. The hotel was well priced and efficient, and I enjoyed getting away from Kyoto at night and relaxing.
- BrendaT6666 (8/5): Reasonably priced hotel with helpful manager - The room was clean and big. The hotel provides free parking spaces for guests which is quite convenient. The location is fantastic with a shopping mall and a top notch sukiyaki restaurant just opposite to the hotel. Mr Kondo was really helpful in making dinner recommendation and reservation for us. The only drawback was that we asked for non-smoking room unsuccessfully and ended up with a room with very strong smell of cigarettes despite using an air purifier.
- tintannabulation (10/5): Wonderful hotel in quiet Kusatsu—great place to stay if you’re exploring Kyoto, too! - Let me start this review by saying I really loved the staff here! Everybody was very helpful and overall nice. They even give out welcome gifts (different for men and women, I believe). As a solo traveler, I really appreciate these subtle touches and I would not hesitate to go back here again. My room was good, very clean and spacious enough for another person. You get all the toiletries you need and thorough cleaning is done every day. The hotel location is in a quiet area, but there are shops and restos everywhere. Really great for long and short stays. Highly recommended!
- Ahralves (10/5): Good Hotel - I was in this Hotel, and I really have good memories. The localization is fantastic, and it is only 03 minutes’ walk from the Station. The staff is so sympathetic and the English language is not a problem. The room is small, but it is a normal thing in Japan.
- keithmccubbin (6/5): Compact but convenient - I stayed in a single room. The room was compact but had sufficient space. Air conditioning worked well and there was a small refrigerator in the room. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was a mixture of Japanese and western dishes though the variety of western dishes was suprising. The hotel was clean, well presented and the staff friendly. The hotel was only a short walk from the station, was close to restaurants and convenience stores, and for those that need it, a coin laundry was 100 metres down the street.
- robert_rodriguez (10/5): Great Service - I have stayed in Hotels all over Japan and have not found a more helpful staff. They go way out of their way to try and help you. Fukushima, one of the hotel employees, has on several occasions gone way above the call of duty to help me and my coworkers with whatever is needed from helping rent bikes to finding Dr.Peppers several cities away. I will be a life long fan of this hotel.
- sck007 (6/5): Clean rooms, nothing fancy... - I had a single room for about 7,000 yen/day ($80 US). It was clean and had free internet. Breakfast was OK. There was a decent selection of European/US and Japanese fare. Staff is not bilingual, but I got by with a phrasebook. Hotel can exchange dollars and euros into yen. This hotel is right across the street from a huge mall with a ton of stores. There's even a McDonald's and Starbucks right there but these don't open until 9:30am, so breakfast at the hotel is a life saver. This part of Japan does not see a lot of westerners. Very little information can be found in English, German, Spanish or Italian.
