Guest Reviews
- Mike (8/5): - Clean room and hotel, friendly staff. A bit echoey as all hard surfaces in rooms. Lift worked but didnt call from 1st floor, so had to walk down then come up lift to pick up luggage.
- David (10/5): - Staff very helpful clean and tidy
- Susanne (10/5): Passt alles - Tolles Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis.
Freundlicher Service
Guter Standort
- Verified traveler (4/5): Glad only stayed 1night - Good location but no one around to help at times rooms very old and basic and had people upstairs having a party at 1am when we needed to get up early to catch the ferri.. very awful experience especially with no one around to help.
- Anne (10/5): - Staff were very helpful - we arrived late and the person on reception kept the entrance unlocked until we arrived, answered all our queries and was very friendly and helpful. Room was sparce but very spacious.
- Djamal (10/5): Sympa - Très bon séjour bien reçu par le personnel petit déjeuner copieux le service super sympa pense y retourner l'an prochain
- Klaasjan (8/5): - Prijs-kwaliteit verhouding is prima
- Tania (6/5): - Extremely basic especially for the money we paid. Car parking is 24 spaces for approximately 80 rooms not even a drop off point for luggage disabled sp
- Ico (6/5): - Lunch ok.. bed kraakte heel erg.. last van stampvoetende mensen boven ons.
- Kwai Hong Tony (4/5): - Bed are not really comfort
- Jimmy (6/5): - Personnel is really good and willing to deliver a great service.
The problem is the hotel itself. It was and old hospital. It’s kind of creepy when you walk through the aisles and see the floor with the yellow lines, the doors, floors, walls and toilettes of a hospital or nursing home
- James (6/5): - Very very basic
- Jeffrey (6/5): - I couldn't get my phone to charge either in my room or the building. There was no staff around to discuss this matter with or assist me.
- Heinz (8/5): - Gute Aussicht
- Glynn (10/5): - Great budget stay at a location we like Fantastic staff couldn’t be more helpful especially Jacqueline who was great 😊
- Marcin (6/5): - Nothing special.
- M.Jacques (10/5): séjour à Dunkerque - Accueil excellent, très bon séjour, personnels disponibles et aimables.
- David (10/5): - Staff was very helpful secure parking for motorcycles would recommend
- Laurence (2/5): - I want to start by saying that all members of staff we encountered were absolutely lovely and helpful. We arrived to check in for our 3 night stay shorlty after 5 pm. We were told the room wasn't ready and that it would be 10 more mins. We
- Antony (8/5): - Lack of info on late check in process. Not just on this property but in all 3 we have stayed in on this trip
- Richard (10/5): - The Staff was kind and helpfull. I would have liked WiFi in the room
- Julia (8/5): - Sehr nettes Personal, grandiose Lage, sauber!
- miranda (8/5): - Great place for overnight to go to the ferry crossing.
- Lars (8/5): - Directly located at the beach, Possibility of car parking at the hotel
- Colin (10/5): - I like this place, it does not try to be something it is not.
- Leona (10/5): - You get what you pay for.
Great service amazing location
Badezimmer total verdreckt
- Dag (8/5): Good value for money! - Good location overlooking the Atlantic. Very basic, but we liked it. Big bathroom with shower department. Very clean, very nice staff. Did not eat there. Good restaurants 10 mins away along the coastline.
- Stephen (10/5): - Great location to break up a journey after arriving in France from Dover.
- anthony (8/5): - Basic room, but excellent value. Pleasant service. Plenty of restaurants and bars within 10 minute walk. Handy for Op Dynamo museum.
- Jeffrey (2/5): - The most depressing hotel I’ve ever stayed in! The room although big was as welcoming as a prison cell. No TV or pictures on the wall which were bland and dull as was the floor. A big shower and toilet room but 1 piece of soap 2” square and 1 sachet of shower gel. A 6€ breakfast didn’t include cheese or ham, just bread and jam, cereal and fruit and croissants. The hotel seems like it’s in a “Ghost Town”. Nothing around and quiet and dead. A TV in the lobby but not suitably located for guests to see. The place reminded me of a hospital, school or prison and getting breakfast there lining up was in keeping. The beach was about 200 metres away and some restaurants about a 10 minute walk away over a bridge. Check in at 5pm and out by 10am seemed strange but I’m pleased it was! Less time to spend there! I certainly won’t be returning there or recommending the place. It was just dull and boring and staff were conspicuous by their absence! No warmth or good feeling to the place. Sterile and clinical appear to be good words to sum it up. The room had a bed in the corner a wooden platform acting as a desk with a chair. The place is lifeless. A large car park though which was good. That’s about it!
- Glynn (10/5): - Shower had been broken and you couldn’t put the shower head in any holder as this was missing and chair in bathroom was also broken and dangerous to try and use
- Lydia (8/5): - Nette, eenvoudige kamer. Fijne locatie. Ontbijt goed.
Also Schlafen mit geschlossenen Fenster.
- Janneke (8/5): - Really good location, short walk from the beach. Parking at location.
- Helle (4/5): Not impressed - Old, worn-out with a really low-budget feel to ir. Our barhroom was uninviting with a dripping faucet
- Andrew (6/5): - Very simple hotel. Rooms are ok and beds are a little hard. Location is fine
- Luiz (8/5): Recommended - Very friendly staff, nice location, near the museum and the beach. Bathroom is extremely spacious. Just missed a television.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Incredibly noisy, otherwise decent hostel - Most things were as expected - low budget accommodation, good quality for price.
What was unacceptable is the high noise by a group of kids. Late at night and early in the morning they were slamming doors, running around, yelling and banging at doors. The hostel should make the adults responsible for these kids aware that this is unacceptable for other guests. Due to, we barely got any shuteye which ruined an otherwise pleasant and very well located place.
- Tom (8/5): Good place for an overnight. - Friendly helpful staff, its a little practical over comfort but I would definitely stay again.
- Sunny (10/5): - Nice hotel close to the docks
- helen (8/5): - This hostel is in a great location in-between the huge lovely beach and the old town. It has parking, which is a great bonus. The staff were really helpful and friendly. My only criticism was that the rooms were a bit tired. The bathroom could do with a paint job and better cleaning. Breakfast was a simple but lovely, with fresh pastries and excellent value. We liked the pool table and football. Overall, great value and we may stay again if in the area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It's a budget hotel.
Often with lots of groups.
It is very clean with really comfortable beds.
Breakfast was nice and well organised in light of Covid
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The hotel was in a perfect location with parking. The room was spacious. There was no TV. The hotel lists "free wifi" as an amenity, but the wifi was limited to the lobby only. Even in the lobby we had difficulty connecting. The shower was like those you find on the beach-no shower head, just a hole the water comes out of...and we had to keep pushing the "on" button to keep water. It would shut off every 30 seconds or so otherwise.
- Dean (6/5): Ok hotel. - Ok hotel in nice location.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Nothing much it was a hostel full of noisy people and false advertising by the property
Wi fi was not in the bedroom as advertised
It was hit and miss as to whete you got it and for how long.
Floor in the room was cold and dismal no carpet etc.
- søren (10/5): - Clous to the beach issy too find good and Nice working People
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I did not realize this was a hostel it was advertised as a hotel . No tv in room no hair dryer shower was awful you had to keep pressing the button as the water kept going off after a minute or two same as the tap on sink. Kettle tea and coffee provided but no milk . Breakfast well was full of noisey school kids . Had to put food on a tray no plates then there was only croissants dreid up rolls or ceareals , and jam and marmalade disappointed as it said there was continental breakfast so disgusted will not be returning ever again .
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I didn’t like the fact that the internet was not available in the bedrooms
- Brett (8/5): - good basic hotel, breakfast bit of a free for all, bit of cheese and ham wouldn't have gone a miss for those without a sweet tooth but over all good value for money
- Martin (8/5): - It should be pointed out that this is not a hotel but a hostel. This is fine but it wasn't apparent from the booking information. The room was really comfortable otherwise. The Wi-Fi was great and the breakfast was good.
- Paul (6/5): Ok for short stay maybe better in summer. - Good location for beach and short walk into town. Rooms spacious but sparse furnishing and push button taps and shower, more like a hostel rather than hotel. Breakfast adequate continental but ham cheese and warm food extra in canteen area. Staff efficient and friendly. Bed firm. WiFi ok
- Scott (8/5): Not bad - Everything was fine with the trip, not much around the hotel and wasn’t serving evening meal for no apparent reason. Had to walk a while to find somewhere to eat. Ok to stay if just staying for the night as a stop gap
- Ian (10/5): - Rather basic, but fine, comfortable and spotless. Staff helpful, and breakfast sufficient.
- Verified traveler (8/5): nice family hotel but could improve a little - Nice family hotel. Bed are not too good and some windows did not open.
- Michael (8/5): Good Budget choice, limited facilties though. - Good value, breakfast very good. Although the hotel looks out on a limb there are lots of restaurants nearby over the footbridge by the beach. Suprisingly for a large hotel there is no bar. I was on a motorbike and there is an undercover area to park. Good choice for a short stay, my room was large for a single. There seems to be a good bus service if you want to pop into Dunkirk centre.
- John (2/5): No sleep at Hotel - The room above had children who ran around shouting and banging doors till 1 am in the morning. Then they were up at 6 am
Hardly a good nights rest. Shame as it spoilt the visit
- Verified traveler (8/5): Basic but good value. - Basic but clean and comfortable. Friendly staff and a perfectly acceptable breakfast. Excellent value.
- sue (10/5): Perfect location - Just an overnight stay to visit famous beach and Museum. Everything in walking distance, free parking - Perfect!
Facilities great, self serve breakfast, price exceptional for 4 guests!
- Leah (10/5): Nice hotel close to the harbour, casino&beach. - Amazing using the free buses in dunkerque awesome. Lovely people breakfast was good. We checked out so early but they prepared breakfast for us @ 4:00am in the morning.
Dunkerque is mind blowing
- Gerry (10/5): Nice hotel, close to the beach. - Very nice place. Relatively new. Staff were friendly, in spite of a booking and arrival mistake.
I like the open foyer design.
- Ian (8/5): 5 minute walk to beach and Museums - Check was only issue, maybe on the day they were short of cleaners but room was not ready until 6.30pm and should have been 5pm. Apart from that it is very cheap and a great location next to the sea and marina. We had 4 people but they gave a room with 5 small beds. Breakfast is also good enough but sometimes there is a small queue.
- Catherine (8/5): On the beach - Lovely welcome, very informative and good spacious rooms. Breakfast included and baggage storage, so you can enjoy longer sightseeing on the day you are leaving.
- Catherine (8/5): Accessible and Comfortable - Comfortable hotel, near the beach and informative staff
- John (8/5): - Simple. Very clean. And exactly what was needed. Pleasant staff.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good for stopover - The best thing about this hotel is location. Other than that, it's clean, simple, basic one might say. But perfect fo a stopover
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very Good - Situated right on the coast, excellent view of coast and sea . . relatively cheap for late booking . . Basic but ample breakfast included in price . . Relaxed . . Free Parking Space . . easy check in . . rooms were nicely adequate and clean
- Ian (6/5): Fire - Fire alarm went off at 6.45. Burnt toast in cafeteria. No fire instructions in room. No carpet on floor so quite noisy with kids running up and down corridor.
- Gemma (6/5): Basic accommodation. - It is very basic accommodation but you get what you pay for, needs alot of TLC, the window fell out of the frame but the staff were very nice and helpful. Good location for the beach and restaurants.
- Keith (8/5): Budget traveling - Hotel ok if you just need a basic bed for the night. & good value for the money , appears popular for schools from UK, so cant knock it.
- Kevin (8/5): Great value for money - Ideal location and room was very basic but comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good value as included in price and parking was good. Nice place for a one night stopover but perhaps a bit basic for anything longer. Location makes up for a lot though as many cheaper hotels are way out of town. This place is right on the sea front and close to bars/ cafes. Would use again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Last night of the holiday... - Easy parking - convenient for walking to the beach - staff helpful - room perfectly adequate and reasonable view towards the sea
- DeeEss09 (6/5): - Close to beach. Reasonably priced. Unhelpful staff. Simply breakfast. Likely would not chose this hotel again.
- maria (8/5): Okay - Good location close to the Beach and war museum. Minimalistic hotel, good for a shorter stay. Breakfast was not the best + very squeaky beds. Location and prize made up for it though
- Brian (10/5): Close to the beach - Basic hostel located within a very short (2 min) walk to the beach.
Staff were helpful and spoke English if required.
We stayed in a family room that sleeps 6, The room was basic with just beds and bathroom, there is electric sockets in the room along with a built in wardrobe it also had tea making facilities.
Would stay here again without hesitation.
- Pamela (10/5): - I was concerned when I realised, after booking, that this was a hostel rather than a hotel. However, I was very pleasantly surprised. It was spotlessly clean, service was excellent, breakfast good, and there were even tea-making facilities. Recommended.
- Paddy (10/5): Nice hotel, close to the beach - We're a family of 6 so had two rooms next to each other, staff very friendly & helpful, lovely & quiet, very clean, parking available. Within walking distance of town & right next to beach & restaurants, very close to museum about the great evacuation. Will definitely go back.
- Peter (8/5): Budget stay OK. - The hotel served a purpose for us. I would only use this hotel for a stop over and if on a budget. The rooms are clean but it is almost institutional.
The beds are adequate.
Breakfast was poor, but I didn't expect much.
- Verified traveler (8/5): weekend holiday - the only problem we had was on the way to the hotel, we were following the sat nav which led us to a road where the bridge was up, this added a few extra minutes to a long day. Service was great, the person checking us in took us up to show us our room. Breakfast was good.
- Jeremy (8/5): Great location - Beds made a lot of noise and kept us and our baby up all night. Other than the beds, Great location...great price.
- M Z (6/5): - The bed so bad I could sleep well.
- Monika (8/5): Convenient place - Convenient place, easy to find. Clean and comfortable. Spacious room and bathroom. Nice and friendly staff. Could improve breakfast. It's very basic.
