Guest Reviews
- Barbara (10/5): - We loved staying at the Beach Inn Motel! It’s a charming little spot that is close to town yet feels secluded and safe. The rooms are clean and simple and the front office staff was helpful and kind. Perfect little spot!
- Kellie (10/5): - Beautiful setting on the lake.
- Dave (4/5): - The only thing attractive about The Beach Inn Motel is the location. The hotel itself is old, really old. And expensive. But the contents of the hotel are cheapest the owner can provide. For example, one tiny bottle of shampoo. Only a small table... no desk. Only two chairs... hardback. Minimalist is boutique hotels may be cool. But in The Beach Inn Motel minimalist is old-school cheap furnishings.
- Helen (10/5): - Nice waterside lawn with lots of lawn chairs
- Alan (4/5): - It's older and needs some repair. Best part of the place if the backyard.
- Violetta (10/5): - The welcoming yard to hang out along beautiful water was the best part of this stay. The guest services was so hospitable and check-in was easy.
- Randy (8/5): - All was great for the location and price . No complaints. Suggest you bring a pillow as that was only issue as not comfortable compared to most hotels I stay at in this price range . Nice value add was free ice for your cooler. Would stay again .
- John (8/5): - View from property towards Munishing Bay was beautiful. Location of motel was good within easy reach of downtown.
- Lyle L (10/5): - Great lake view from room and outside of room patio. Good location from National Park and town. Quiet and safe area.
- Kimberly (10/5): - Pet friendly , water views , clean rooms , quiet and convenient. Loved George - he was so friendly and helpful when checking in
- Phyllis (10/5): Watching the sunset! - Wonderful!!
- David (4/5): - View from room amazing! Location great! Didn’t clean our room (2 night stay), juice machine broken and no substitute), for $200 a night the breakfast was horrible! Front desk staff seamed discontent and/or unhappy with job/clients. I won’t stay here again.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Wonderful spot, view and staff!! Definitely stay again
- Dana (6/5): - Cleanliness was an issue and could be avoided by an additional 15-20 minutes of general cleaning. There were cob webs on ceiling in corner and around the window with dead bugs on window sill. White coffee tray was dirty and ice bucket had black mold spots around inside rim. Dust line around room in crevices where floor meets wall. 4” Dirty smear on entry door molding.
White Drywall patch 6” x6” on wall by window not painted to match.
No weather strip on bottom of entry door could see light coming through bottom of door (allows entry for crawling bugs). Needs a coat of fresh white paint around door casing and molding.
- Lane Gardner (10/5): AMAZING - This motel deserves 100 stars. The grounds are beautiful, we used their grill for our dinner, just gorgeous sunset, check in and check out was easy and very friendly. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at how neat it is. WE WILL stay here again.
- Richard (10/5): - Loved it.
- Connie (10/5): - Comfort with convenient location at a great price.
Parking lot needs to be better marked to accommodate all the patrons.
- Cheryl (10/5): - Parking area very safe, staff was great.
- Thomas (10/5): - great staff, very helpful. close to town. large room. comfortable bed. great views. reasonable cost
- James (8/5): - Bathroom needs updating. Location on the water with view excellent. Grounds great.
- Eric (8/5): - Nice
- Andrew (8/5): - Great view!
- Marie (10/5): - clean and had a nice lake view
- George (10/5): - Location and price are excellent.
- Julie A (10/5): - The view from my room is fantastic
- Carol (10/5): - Check in was great, felt welcomed & given recommendations for dining & touring, great map of the area. Liked their little tourist shopping area also.
- Diane (10/5): - Beautiful view on the lake side, quaint hotel.
- Katherine (10/5): - Property on Lake Superior. Great yard with chairs to view the Lake. Rooms very clean do need some updates. Would come back to stay if in area again.
- Joseph (8/5): Cute Place - Very friendly staff, nice breakfast, great location, room could have been a little cleaner. Overall cute place.
- Daniel (8/5): - The staff were nice. Pictures and descriptions are accurate.
- STEPHEN (10/5): - Beautiful setting and very clean. Staff is personable & helpful. Communication was great even calling us as soon as we booked and also checking with us before arrival. We would stay here again!
- Marufa (10/5): Highly recommended - Very friendly and cordial at reception. Loved most it’s own private backyard. Enjoyed the sunset from there.
- Joel (6/5): - Although an older motel, it had been reasonably well maintained and offered wonderful views of Munising Harbor. Breakfast was acceptable although no hot food was included. The real downside was our room was on the second floor and there was no elevator service plus there was a shortage of electrical plugs in the room causing potential circuit overloads (4 plugs on one circuit which included TV, refrigerator and the microwave). Lastly, only place to hang our clothes was a rack in the bathroom as there was no closet space.
- Regina (10/5): - The view is amazing! Room very small
- Linda (8/5): Munising motel - Cute resort and super friendly staff! Beautiful location on the lake and easy drive to area attractions. Breakfast was nice!
Only issue is room, bathroom was small, plug ins not easy, and it was just dirty.
- Lisa (10/5): - We loved the view! All rooms overlook the water and there are plenty of chairs, couches, etc to enjoy the sunset. There is not a beach however, which would have made it even more perfect since it is called The Beach Inn. Fire pits and s’mores would have been a nice touch as well.
- Jessica (8/5): - Beautiful location, quaint little motel.
- William (10/5): - Very clean and pet friendly
- Jerian (10/5): - Perfect quiet out of the way place to stay. We will visit again. I’m
- Darla (10/5): Circle Tour Bike - This motel was awesome! Location, parking and rooms were very good. On lake and had a view. Breakfast was good and area was clean. tenants were very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again.
- Laurie (10/5): - Staff was very helpful professional and friendly
While the property is older they do a good job keeping it clean and comfortable
Being a dog friendly place makes it a good option and having all rooms looking out at the lake is wonderful. Would recommend
- James (10/5): - Great view
- Leslie (4/5): - Great view of the Mackinac Bridge off the crumbling balcony! We were here for just one night on our way home from the UP check-in guy was friendly and helpful room was fine but glad I wasn't planning on using the pool(green) and outside was kinda dilapidated
- Joy (8/5): - On the water with outdoor seating
Friendly staff
- Larry (8/5): Quaint getaway - Good wifi great view
- Lynn (8/5): - Pleasant, clean and comfortable. Loved the lake view!
- Shelly (8/5): - For the price we paid to spend a night here, I thought it was going to be a much nicer motel. It was like stepping back in time.
They are in need of updates, the bathroom especially.
Although the room was clean, the light in the bathroom was full of dead bugs.
The breakfast was mediocre. Again, for the price they charge, I was expecting more.
The only thing that they have going for them, is being right on the water.
- Zonira (10/5): - Bea
- John (8/5): - Nice property although dated, but for that price point, I would have expected a little more. Toiletries was one tiny bottle of just shampoo and sliver slices of soap. The towels felt like sandpaper and just lukewarm water from the shower. For over $250/night not much in the way of added amenities. Staff at checkout was not unfriendly but indifferent. A fire pit on this property would be awesome!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Motel was clean, staff friendly and awesome views of the lake. Highly recommend.
- Cathy (6/5): - It was nice to be on the water and have access to some sitting areas. Very cute from the outside. This hotel was clean, but very outdated and in need of some TLC and updates. The breakfast and coffee offerings were very basic. We encountered two staff members while there and both were nice and helpful. If you are looking for a basic spot on the water to stay, this will suit you just fine. But be aware it is heavily outdated.
- Jacqueline (10/5): - Last minute stay at this resort and we loved it. The gentleman at the front desk was so nice. The property is beautiful. Loved all the chairs by the water. Definitely will be back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great view + comfortable beds - Beautiful view of the bay and night sky. Close to Munising and Picture Rocks. The beds were very comfortable after a long day on the road.
- Nicholas (6/5): - Property needs outdoor games such as botchy ball, vball, horseshoes, etc. Better a/c units, and general services.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Terrific location and great staff. Facility condition isn’t great.
- Stephen (10/5): - Beautiful views
- Pamela (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff. Location was excellent! Beautiful property. The only complaint I would have was the bathroom could use some maintenance. Overall I would recommend this place.
- Paula (10/5): - What a wonderful find on the shore of Lake Superior! Huge "backyard" with lots of lawn furniture to enjoy some time by the lake. Conveniently located between Munising and Pictured Rocks.
- Johanna (8/5): - Nice location and view. Room was small and could use some updating but sufficient and comfortable! Very helpful staff, especially George!
- Spencer (8/5): - Clean quiet motel with a great location on Lake Superior
- Katie (10/5): - View was great, everything was clean and comfortable, bathroom could use some updating.
- RUTH (10/5): Ciute little motel - Good location, clean, reasonable breakfast.
- Holly (10/5): I loved it. I will absolutely return again. - 1st. The staff was absolutely amazing. The manager was so nice to help break things down for us, and really made us feel welcome. He gave us great suggestions for dining and things to see. The view is great and really cant beat it. My only suggestions is they definitely need to update their bathrooms. Ours was so outdated that grout was not even sticking to shower walls. There was no room in the bathroom with counter space, we had 3 women in our room, we had no room for make up, hair products, brushes, etc. The water definitely needs to be looked at. I tried showering at 10pm twice and it was going hot to cold the whole time. Some of the outlets were not working in out room, so again with 3 people and lots of electronics we did not have enough outlets for all our stuff. Even with those issues, because of the staff and view, I would still absolutely go back. Hopefully the bathrooms will be updated :) I will also say our room was clean, thankfully we did not have party near us as well because it was nice and quiet at night.
- Katherine (6/5): - The property was old but relatively clean. The bathroom needed work. It was on a very pretty piece of property with a great view of Lake Superior.
- LEE (10/5): - This place is a treasure! Beautiful grounds. Very nice clean rooms. Outstanding staff. Dog friendly! LOTS of activities within driving distance (close).
- mark (4/5): - The $272 per night that we spent on this room could have been spent on far better accommodations in just about any other place outside a major metro area. The rooms were in drastic need of remodeling, Especially the bathrooms. Access to electricity within the room was overly sparse. We only had one duplex outlet for the whole room. The aforementioned duplex outlet had multiple items plugged into it through various and sundry adapters and looked like a fire waiting to happen. The lakeside lawn of the hotel was covered in goose droppings making it a distasteful place to frequent. I will not return.
- Michele (10/5): - Property was a nice quiet place. Folks that ran it were super nice and polite.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Price too high for room condition - Bed skirt, mattress cover were stained. Bathroom floor was sticky. Toilet was too low for being an accessible room. Bathroom fan simetimes worked and other times made noise. Also to get to town had to take a 10 mile detour
- Tatum (10/5): - The workers were so nice. The property outside was beautiful. Bathroom could use a little updating and vacuum needs to be run around the edge of the room
- Mark (8/5): - Nice location, very convenient to Pictured Rocks sights. The lawn area on the water is very peaceful and if you hit it right, a great spot to see the Northern Lights.
- Amber (6/5): - We liked that the property was directly on the lake and the outside had plenty of seating for viewing the sunsets. It would have been in a really good location, except currently there is a road closure just past the motel, which is not the motel’s fault. We did not like the cleanliness of the room. It is in desperate need of a deep clean. The baseboards along the edges of the carpet were white with dust, and The doors and trim were really dirty, and there were many cobwebs. The whole bathroom was in need of a re-do. The shower/tub combination was in really rough condition and so was the toilet area. The beds were comfortable and clean, and the view from the window was awesome! The gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful! They do not have ice machines, but there are free bags of ice available, which was a really good bonus!
- Michael (10/5): - This is a nice motel, that overlooks Lake Superior. The sunsets over the lake are especially nice. There are no elevators, so if that is a problem I would suggest trying to reserve a 1st floor room.
- JAY (10/5): - Beautiful view of Lake Superior out back all rooms can see, staff is friendly
- Michelle (8/5): - It was a cute place. Little dated for our tastes but it reminded me of my childhood. Very nice staff and it has great views. Location to the downtown area is perfect.
- Kelli (10/5): - This was a great place to stay and sit and watch the sunset. Tons of chairs in the open lawn - plenty of room for the kids to play and adults to sit and talk.
- Adrianna (8/5): Very nice with a view - The place was very beautiful, and everyone was nice. It’s right on the lake so you can go watch the sunset from the property. The room was nice and clean. I wish the bathroom sink had more counter space, but we made do. The continental breakfast was less than desired- very basic.
- joy (10/5): - Check in was great and even told us about local things to do. Continental breakfast had a good variety and their sunset views are to die for. Strongly suggest this motel.
- Richard (10/5): - Very nice a little old but nice view of lake superior
- Allison E (10/5): - We absolutely loved our stay at the motel. Loved the view from our room and the ability to walk out to the lake from our room- beautiful! Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the property was picturesque! Check-in/out was a breeze!
- Greg (10/5): - Great stay
- Cherisse (10/5): - X
- Kelly (10/5): - Glenda was amazing! Super friendly and helpful!
- Ross (10/5): Room with a View - Lake front room with huge bathroom and super comfy bed! Beautiful birch trees shading our porch with comfy chairs! Dining room windows have a gorgeous view of the forest with birches right outside. Great outside huge lawn right up to the water! Close to town and the hiking trails!
- Christa (10/5): - Super friendly staff, nice breakfast options, very quiet and close to town. We really enjoyed our stay.
- Audra (8/5): - Reviewed all properties in this area prior to staying and choose this due to the location and price. It is along the shoreline of about 3/4 others and I liked this due to the size. The grounds is what makes this place, the rooms (bathrooms) is what breaks it.
The breakfast is simple being anything that is shippable and packaged along with some apples and bananas.
Bed was comfy and clean. Ac worked well. Really enjoyed walking out to the back yard and relaxing. You cannot access the water as it is fenced off.
I’m not picky so I didn’t have high expectations, there was dust in the room, the property is old, and truly the bathroom was the worst part. It all looked original to the age of the property and everything was short. Counter, toilet, shower head. If they focused on revamping the bathroom, this would help a lot. We enjoyed our stay.
- Michelle (10/5): - It’s such a quant little motel having a wonderful time
- Daniel (4/5): Disappointed by yucky bathroom - This was a one night stay in a longer trip. It was the most expensive and most disappointing. This is an old motel, not in a charming way. It has nice curb appeal. It is a nice location on the lake with a lovely view, esp at sunset. There are tables and chairs to enjoy that space. The room was just ok, dated and showing wear and tear. It could have been cleaner. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was just ok. The bathroom was quite bad and needed updating. The condition of the bathroom really makes the price upsetting.
- paul (6/5): - The location is good, just east of Munising. Property itself is dated and could definitely use a refresh. Breakfast is the very bare minimum.
- William (10/5): - This is a great place to stay when coming to vacation in Munising. The Lake Superior view at sunset is amazing! We had fresh white fish at the Dogpatch just a mile away that was excellent!
- Paula (10/5): - The motel exterior is very charming. Interior rooms are outdated and not very clean.
- Verified traveler (8/5): good experience - a last minute booking over 4th of july weekend. good location, decent continental breakfast. excellent front desk/customer service. the rooms were clean and great lakeside view. its just dated but meets the basics. Thank you beach inn.
- Vallarie (8/5): -
The hotel was nice. It is definitely dated. I don't want to be negative because the staff were absolutely amazing and being able to walk everywhere was incredible. But go in knowing it is dated. The beach was great!
- Katherine (10/5): - Great inn right on the water.
- Michael (8/5): - Great location with stunning sunsets, breakfast adequate, close to Pictured Rocks and numerous waterfalls. Munising restaurants not impressive though. Would stay here again
- Michele (10/5): - Small, cozy, clean, motel right on the water.
- Rob (8/5): - Really beautiful view, great staff.
- Cheryl (10/5): - We had a fantastic stay. The room was a little small for the 4 of us, but the property has a large green area in the back along the lake with lots of seating and we spent a fair amount of time there. The room was immaculate and had a wonderful view of Lake Superior. The continental breakfast was great. My older son especially loved the French toast while my younger son had Froot Loops both days. The best part of this inn is the fantastic view of sunset in the evening.
- Natasha (10/5): - -
- AJ (10/5): - Staff at front desk was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Gave lots of recommendations for food and excursions.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Looks are deceiving - The outside of the building is lovely and nostalgic but inside our room, everything was the same as when built in the 50's! Outdated and grimy.
