• Kaari (8/5): - The location is great once you get there. Anywhere in the Centro will be a challenge to get to and there is almost no space to stop and unload near the entrance. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. No AC but the rooms had electric fans which was enough in the evening with a window open. There was noise from a nearby band playing when we went to bed but they stopped by 10pm and it was a quiet area the rest of the night. We had two rooms and in one the bathroom was extremely small, with the shower spraying onto the sink area and even close to an outlet. Parking was the biggest disapointment. The Expedia listed said they had parking available for 250 mx pesos. We finally drove to the lot they told us to go to and not only was it very far away, but they told us they did not have an agreement with our hotel and that it would cost 350 mx pesos. It was so far away we did not want to walk with suitcases all the way across town the next morning and driving to pick up our bags would be a long, complicated route. So instead we paid more for a closer public lot.

• Maribel (8/5): - This is a perfect centrally located hotel! You can’t beat it’s position. It’s clean, it’s very beautiful, it’s what you would expect when staying in Guanajuato. With that being said, our bed was very small, I think it was a full, and very hard. I would’ve also liked better pillows. They were hard too. Also, it had very bad lighting, which makes it hard when applying your makeup. I would definitely stay here again though.

• Juan (6/5): - El hotel está muy bien ubicado justo en el centro de la ciudad donde tienes acceso caminando a prácticamente todos los puntos turísticos, el pequeño detalle es que es bastante sencillo y austero podría decir, solo la cama una silla y un clóset es todo. No me gustó que en la noche el patio central que es la parte más vistosa y colonial estuviera obscuro sin luces como las muestran en la publicidad. El personal es amable. No tiene estacionamiento pero te dan informes de estacionamiento y pensión. No tienen ningún convenio con el hotel por lo que no hay ningún descuento ni nada. La pensión más cercana está a 10 o 15 minutos. En general bien, el precio es accesible acorde a la sencillez del lugar.

• Alicia (2/5): Location Location Location - Best thing about this hotel: LOCATION! Overall hotel is more like a motel. Metal doors and odd placed metal windows allow for neighboring lights to shine in your room. Four story split level building, stairs only (normal for GTO), no A/C, loud floor fan, no frills, no shampoo, no conditioner, hand soap but no soap dish, no extra TP, no and I mean no water pressure, no iron in room and no blow drier in room. If iron or blow drier are needed, they will lend you one for 30 min but you have to climb down and up for it. Recommended parking lot is a heck of hike if you walk with suitcases but better than taxi or Uber. Get past all that and the location is as good as any other downtown center hotel. Staff is hit and miss. The male attendees and handywoman were nice. Staff could make the rest of the motel limitations less of an annoyance if they would retrain the front desk people. I mean give info at the check in and when guests call for info and the frustration goes away…maybe help for 30 seconds. Kindness and consideration goes a long way. And at $500 USD for two nights, this isn’t unrealistic requests and recommendations. To the owner, simple upgrades like a decent flowing shower head, towel rack, soap dish, quieter fan in lieu of tornado fan, would desperately improve the simplicity of this no frill, no extras, limited staff motel.

Las instalaciones bonitas y agradables, el único inconveniente es que la cama estaba dura y me costó dormir, y al día siguiente amanecí con dolor. En general, muy bonito, vale la pena.

• Dana (10/5): - This hotel has a simple, classic, timeless quality. If not for the modern TV, I could easily imagine my parents or grandparents staying here in the 1950's or 60's. It is in a great location within easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, museums and historical sites. We stayed during a heat wave and it was a little uncomfortable due to the lack of air conditioning. A large fan helped.

La cama es algo dura pero a mi gusto estaba bien Para bañarme en la tarde tenia que avisar a recepcion para El agua caliente, pero quedaba super rapido. Primero me dieron una habitacion con un mini baño, pero justo en ese momento fue la srita a decirnos que me daba otra y que el baño estaba mas amplio. La 2nda habitacion no tenia el pestillo de seguridad. Hotel comodo cerca de atracciones principales y muchos lugares para contratar tours.

Our room and the hotel itself was clean and comfortable. The staff were so friendly and offered explanations to our questions on traditions and the cultural festival that was occuring during our visit.

• Verified traveler (2/5): Bad Experience, Would Not Recommend - We had a very bad experience at Hotel Meson del Rosario. The customer service and the woman attending the front desk/reception in the mornings is rude and not helpful. We were also overcharged for our reservation - hotels.com confirmed one price and the hotel charged us another. After contacting both Hotels.com and the hotel, neither has agreed to return the extra charges, and the Hotel del Meson Rosario was extremely unhelpful in this regard. They also charge your card 2 times, which we found very strange, both times upon checking in, instead of one transaction. They have other strange policies, like wearing a bracelet to show that you are a guest of the hotel. I would not recommend this hotel.

• Michael (8/5): Cute, clean and cheap...but don't expect services - This pretty hotel in the center of Guanajuato is an excellent value. Clean, attractive and perfectly located. The staff was friendly, but, I have to say, not very empowered to do things that make a stay personal and special. At first resistant to doing a bit of our laundry (a service for which we we're happy to pay), they said they could not assume the liability (!) then sent it to an outside laundry; we had to pick it up ourselves. Not the end of the world, but... Similarly a request to help us find a private driver was answered in silent stares (it is something I have done with no problems in dozens of Mexican hotels). A little bit of staff training would do wonders. Not least of all there isn't a drop of coffee in the mornings, so you've got to go fetch your own, a few blocks away, if you're a caffeine addict. These were small annoyances but as I said, the hotel really is an excellent budget option for cleanliness, character and location.
