- Andrea (6/5): Adequate but not good value for money. - The Bed was a double rather than queen and the 3rd floor without a lift was hard to carry cases. Also we were annoyed to be charged addition costs to park the car in the car park overnight. We booked through a third party and were told when we arrived if we had paid direct there would be no parking charge. Also we were charged a 10% service charge for our evening meal for no reason.

- Peter (6/5): Great location to visit the sights of Cambridge - Room as expected, had everything that we wanted, however, poor internet quality including TV reception. Breakfast was at best adequate, bread was clearly frozen and not ideal for open continental sandwiches, options for continental was poor, with hotel trying to get guests to upgrade to cooked English. By adding fresh bread rolls, boiled eggs and options for different cheeses would have improved available options. My partner is Gluten free, only option was cheese, break was provided but again had to be toasted as was frozen, meat option was breaded ham, so her choices were yogurt, fruit and toast, more thought needed, breakfast cereals a must. Overall, great location. The mattress was rock hard, a 3 day stay left us with back pains

Beds were uncomfortable, bathroom was horrible, mold all around shower screen, Taps were all tarnished and needed replacing. Room smelled musty and damp. Room and general ambiance, hotel was dated and not very clean or inviting.

- Richard (5/5): - Worst breakfast I have had in any hotel and I stay in 2-3 hotels a week across the UK and Europe, continental was the description which consisted of a pot of luke warm coffee, some sliced cheese, toast, a bowl of croissants. Would advise the hotel to go to Europe and see what a real continental breakfast looks like. At £169 for the room including parking is not exactly cheep. We were working in the bar area in the afternoon which never opened, couldn't even get a coffee.

De kamer was heel klein, het bed te kort en te smal De kranen in de badkamer waren geen mengkranen en werkten niet goed. De afvoer van de douche was verstopt. Verschillende lichtpunten in de kamer werkten niet Een hotel met heel veel nood aan een ingrijpende renovatie. Het ontbijt was ondermaats. Veel pakjes en zakjes, weinig verse producten, slechte koffie.

- Philip (5/5): A hotel that has steadily gone down hill since I first stayed there 35 years ago. - Good position opposite Jesus Green, as easy walk into town. Hotel is tired, poky room with tiny double bed in annex that looks like a shed, damaged, worn out furniture, flimsy walls, creaking floor boards and banging doors. Staff were completely uninterested in the comfort of their guests. A hotel that is run for maximum profit for minimum comfort and service.

Kind and helpful front desk help. Appreciate left luggage for a few hours on checkout date. Appreciated the front desk calling a cab for us to get to train station. Was not expecting so many stairs to walk with luggage to check into our room.

- Joanne (2/5): Great location, but very poor facilities and value for money. - We have stayed at this hotel many times before, but this was a return visit after a few years’ gap. The location is excellent. We booked a large double room which was spacious and had a large bathroom. It’s a quaint, traditional hotel with old fashioned touches which I still appreciate, such as linen table cloths in the dining room, a proper dressing table in the bedroom with a mirror and hairdryer nearby, a tea tray, spotlessly clean bed linen and towels, and a large bath. The fabric of the property is in decline, yet prices in my opinion are high and do not represent good value for money. Everywhere, paintwork is chipped and scuffed, faux potted plants are covered in dust, the hotel has had the same 1980s decor for years. Our room was cold, and radiators were turned off, the lampshades were stained, and the roller blind in the bathroom looked as if it was about to disintegrate. The kettle was dusty. Continental breakfast is included but the selection of food available was of very poor quality - processed cheese squares, cheap sliced bread and sliced oranges, pineapple and melon for the fruit selection, which were brought out again on the second day of our stay and didn’t look as if they had been refreshed. The hotel seems understaffed and the bar was closed on Sunday evening. The only development we could see since our last visit was the installation of car park barriers and high car parking fees, we were charged approximately £150 per night for our room with an approximate £18 per day car parking fees fee on top. I don’t know for certain as I wasn’t offered a breakdown of the bill.i know I should have asked. Sadly, we won’t be staying here again.

Des cheveux pleins la moquette et la salle de bain qui était nettoyé de manière approximative. - les employés ne sont pas souriants, ni serviables. Nous avons l’air de les déranger. - le petit-déjeuner est vraiment médiocre…ils proposent le strict minimum. Pour dire, ils ne proposent même pas des œufs durs. Bref rapport qualité/prix vraiment pas bon. La seule chose qui les sauve est leur emplacement.
- DIANE (7/5): Bien sans plus. - La chambre est spacieuse. Le lit est confortable. La chambre est propre mais vétuste. Le petit déjeuner continental est bien et on peut commander un supplément English breakfast pour les omelettes. Le personnel à la réception est aimable et le parking est facile d'accès. Nous avons reçu une chambre dans une "cottage house" qui donne sur le parking de voiture et ne sont donc pas celles présentées sur le site. Les couloirs y sont exigus, et les portes font beaucoup de bruits quand elles se ferment. Les moquettes des couloirs sont vétustes ainsi que les installations sanitaires de la chambre. Il n'y a aucune commodité dans la chambre. Pas de café ou thé, pas de prises USB ou adaptateurs électriques pour les voyageurs européens.
- Gillian (8/5): Reasonable place to stay and convenient location to visit Cambridge - The location was excellent, the room we had was very quiet, not on the main road. The room was spacious No water to drink offered in the room we had to ask for a jug of water . Not enough milks . The wash hand basin plug was broken so the pop up ply was permanently stuck down. We asked them to fix this after the first night and they said maintenance would come and fix it but it was not fixed. That was a bit disgusting.

- C1478CGiang (6/5): Dated - Hotel is very dated. We had a room on 3rd floor, there's no lifts so be prepared to have to get your luggage up a few stairs. Our room.was comfortable enough shower was good nice hot water but the smell of mildew is really overpowering. The TV is randomly on a side wall so when laying in bed ypu cant watch it. I did request to have a different room but apparently none were available. Not sure that was the case. Staff seem nice continental breakfast was nice. One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was the parking but wasn't aware until we arrived that unless you book with the hotel direct you have to pay £18 a night to park. Location is good. 20 minute wak across the park to town. Cant say we would stay here again as not really for me. Hotel definitely needs some updating and TLC.

- Séverine (8/5): Correct - Super emplacement. On peut accéder rapidement et facilement à pied aux points d'intérêts de Cambridge. Magnifique parc juste en face. Très bon petit déjeuner dans la véranda so British, très agréable. Lit confortable. Hôtel assez vieillot qui mériterait un renouvellement de la décoration et du mobilier. Quelques toiles de poussière au plafond, sur les lampes et dans la salle de bain. Miroirs nettoyés avec des chiffons sales ? Isolation phonique très limite. Nos voisins sont rentrés à 2h du matin et on entendait leur conversation comme s'il étaient dans notre chambre...

- Monica (5/5): Will not stay here again - The location is good. The heating didn't work. I had to go to reception 5 times until finally one of the receptionists was able to get the heating started. Even so, they only set the heating to go from 6pm to 10pm and on both days I stayed there it only actually worked from 8.30pm until 10pm, as no one seemed to care to check and I had to complain numerous times until they got it started. The building is old and the rooms are extremely outdated. The breakfast only consists of some bread (the cheapest one at that), 1 type of ham, some slices of cheese, butter and gem + coffee, tea or orange juice. At all previous hotels I stayed in had proper breakfast offers, including scrambled eggs, fried bacon, multiple options of bacon/salami, veggies, fruits, but not here, unfortunately. I will not be staying here again.

- Matt (5/5): Overall, a convenient place to stay with a good location, but a few quirks and extra costs to be aware of. - I had an okay stay overall. The room was a decent size because I was lucky enough to get an upgrade. The location is a strong point – it’s easy to walk into town, so convenient for getting around without needing public transport. The hotel itself isn’t very modern. It has an older, slightly outdated feel and could probably do with a bit of an update. The hairdryer looked to be about as old as my Grandma! A few practical things to note: there aren’t any plugs near the bed, so bring a long charging cable if you like having your phone close by at night. Also, there’s no iron in the room – instead, you have to go to a shared ironing room downstairs, and the iron only works on a 15-minute timer, which is a bit of an odd setup. Parking was the biggest downside. It’s quite expensive, and the spaces are pretty tight. After 11:30 the day of checkout it’s £2.50 per hour, so it’s worth either booking directly with the hotel or working around it – apparently ordering the Sunday lunch (£22.50) can help offset that. Full english Breakfast is priced at £12.50, because the free continental is the offerred breakfast. This is however not stated in the booking as it simply states breakfast. Coffee was ok but again definitely needed updating as there was no options for latte or mocha etc available. The coffee cups are also tiny, leaving us going back for 2 or 3 to feel awake!

- Gabriele (10/5): - Tolle Lage direkt am Cam. An dem man entweder zu Fuß, mit dem Bus oder mit nem Punts schnell im Herzen von Cambridge ist. Der Bahnhof ist etwa 20 Minuten entfernt. Das Haus ist groß und sehr verwinkelt, die Zimmer sehr geschmack- und liebevoll eingerichtet. Es gab sogar ein Teeservice aus echtem, bemalten Porzellan. Die gesamte Einrichtung ist mondän, aber gerade das macht den Charme und die Gemütlichkeit aus. Das Essen im Restaurant ist lecker; Frühstück war zwar inklusive, habe ich aber nicht verzehrt. Die Bar und der Wintergarten sinf ebenfalls urgemütlich. Der Service nett und hilfsbereit. Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt und würde jederzeit wiederkommen.

Proximity to the city via a short walk across Jesus Green. Pretty poor 'continental breakfast', tried it once but went out for breakfast the other 2 mornings as wasn't impressed! Parking is £18/day but I think that is the going rate in Cambridge.

- Simon (5/5): You get what you pay for - Location is perfect, 15/20 walk to the centre and opposite Jesus Green. Staff are excellent, so very helpful and attentive. A few minutes walk along the river you will find bars/restaurants - Riverside restaurant and the Greene King, both very good. Hotel has a large car park that is free if you book direct with the hotel or £18 per day if you book via Booking.com. Rooms were clean. Tea/Coffee and biscuits in room. Price reflected the standard of the hotel. Continental breakfast very good - the usual pastries, fruit, yogurt, toast, cheese and meat, white linen tablecloths and napkins. Plenty of storage space for clothes. Hotel decor is very tired and old fashioned. Shower okay, plenty of hot water, but very small. Breakfast included is just continental - £12.50 extra for a cooked breakfast. Room we had (that I think you get if booking via Booking.com and was classed as a small double room) was small and overlooked the kitchen fans - so if you open the window, the room smelt of cooked food. Just one small shelf in the shower/toilet - so we had to keep our toiletries in our bags on the floor.

- Sallstrom Matthews (7/5): Charming place by the river - Charming spacious room with nice furniture and comfortable bed. Wardrobe with lots of space to hang clothes. A nice writing desk to work at, and plenty of space to move in. Continental breakfast minimal but adequate. You had to pay extra for British breakfast.

- Clare (6/5): A pleasant stay but not as comfortable as expected - The location was lovely, although from the photos it’s not obvious that there is a main road between the front of the hotel and the river. The hotel is a little dated and not as comfortable as we would have liked but it was okay. The breakfast offering was very disappointing. A cooked breakfast cost extra which was disappointing as we thought breakfast was included. The buffet was limited. The beds were not hugely comfortable and the rooms were too warm.
